Okay imagine this, you, a 6'8 woman and your boyfriend

Vergil who is only 6'5, and is super embarrassed about having to look up instead of down at you to talk to you.

Your height doesn't really affect the way you two live, although it does feel weird knowing his own girlfriend is taller than him.

Oh but in the bedroom? That's a whole different story, if he actually let's you put a leash on him (which is highly unlikely if he's in a bad mood) he loves the way you just tower over him while he's on all fours, turns him on real good.

Dante who is a whopping 6'3, is like Vergil, embarrassed, that his significant other is a whole 5 inches taller than him. It's quite embarrassing if you're out for a walk and he just pretends you're a friend and what-not.

He should know by now that doing that sort of thing gets him in a lot of trouble. One time he introduced you to Lady and Trish as a "friend" and let's just say later that night he swore he could see God.

Nero is a 6'2 cutie pie and honestly is not that embarrassed about it, he's chill with you being taller than him, all he knows is that you'll give him great cuddles, considering that you'll probably wrap your entire body around him.

The only thing he does get embarrassed about is that he sometimes needs your help to grab something off a shelf that's just a little bit out of his reach.

Ok but remember when people got overly dramatically mad about the V twist in dmc 5... like capcom didn't fucking make it but fucking obvious in like literally ALL of the trailers he was in??? They showed the SUMMONED CANES IN THE FUCKING TRAILER. It was just as secretive as Nero being Vergil's son with that obvious evidence being earliest shown in dmc 4. Like guys come on, capcom wasn't trying to hide shit 🧍🏻‍♂️

Then there's the "V should have been his own character 🤬" crowd overly upset at Vergil for a "dumb plot twist" missing the entire point of dmc 5 being a wrap up for a story arc spanning over 4 games (not counting 2 bc Vergil wasn't mentioned at all in 2) Like I'm sorry if that makes one less fictional guy in your head for you to simp over - no kidding when the leaks happened and the plot twist revealed no kidding I saw more than five blogs say they given up the series completely over it and say they fucking hated the franchise forever because of it all because they felt their simping character had been completely taken away(?) or some shit it was fucking ridiculous 😭 - but both he's the whole fucking reason why Vergil's a redeemed character now: he's Vergil's humanity personified realizing all the fucked up shit he's done, acknowledging his own weaknesses, and taking accountability for it by going to the person he's had the most animosity with in the past who knows can fix all of his shit he caused: Dante. And I can write a whole god dammed essay about his interactions and relationship with Nero and how I'm 100% sure V thought Nero was Dante's son the entire game up to the point where it fucking dongs on Vergil's like:

"He's my son?"

And I mean you can still see V as his own character in a way, I'm not saying you shouldn't (and I know of course there's the civil part of the crowd too but this is more about the hostile part) but it's important to acknowledge that he's also the bridge for Vergil's development we see at the end of 5 and as a lot of panels from the visions of V manga show us he still had quite the bit of Vergil's attributes more than people give him credit for.

Wow three years ago pre dmc 5 launch was fucking wild 🧍🏻‍♂️anyway, I love V and Urizen's story and how they both built on to Vergil's already complex character and made it possible to put a chapter end to the sons of Sparda storyline :) I just hope if in dmc 6 if we get a new male character the fandom can thirst after we don't get toxic ass fans (bc especially in this fandom that's the last thing we need more of) like early pre launch dmc 5 ones did with V that don't go overly rabbid if he so happens to tie back to the Spardas in a similar way V did where they call the whole franchise dumb because it doesn't meet their standards because they own care about that one character they have the hots for and literally nothing else and harass anyone who calls them out (good dmc twitter memories 🥲)

Starting with a tiny bit of angst. I think the reason Dante doesn’t use a doppel (after 3) is because using it reminds him too much of Vergil, of being a twin, of how much he’s fucked up. So he keeps it buried away. 

Until one day, when he’s fighting some demons and something goes wrong, one is about to attack you but he won’t be able to get to you in time. He throws out his doppel without even thinking about it. You’re saved by this hulking, rushing blur, that utterly obliterates whatever it was that was trying to get to you. It keeps its distance from you, but stands by you, protecting you from anything else until Dante has finished dealing with everything else. 

You can’t stop thinking about it, so you ask Dante about it later. He’s immediately dismissive, but eventually you manage to coax him into bringing it out again. 

His doppel materialises with a shimmer of light. Its movements are slow and careful as it stalks towards you. It steps right up close, towering over you, the strange static of its breath against your face. It states at you, tilts its head at you and grins with a mouth far too full of teeth. You’re terrified, frozen with fear but also something else. You know that it won’t hurt you, but it’s a predator.

Its tongue lolls from its mouth, long and spiked. It reaches out, resting a large, clawed hand against your cheek. There’s a prick of electricity where it touches you. It cups your cheek, rubbing a rough thumb against your cheek. It chirps, well sort of a chirp, more a deep, growled rumble, but non threatening anyway. Then it slowly leans down, it licks up the other side of your face to where it’s holding. Then moves its face lower, it scents you, deeply inhaling against your skin. The prick of its teeth all consuming against your shoulder. You’re overcome with fear and arousal, utterly terrified and turned on. 

It suddenly disappears with a shimmer of sparks. You blink, turning to Dante to find that his eyes are red pinpricks. He stalks towards you, gait awkward from the bulge at his crotch. He’s almost the same monster in his own right as he pushes you against the wall and takes his fill of you. It turns out that he can’t keep his doppel out when he’s that fucking horny, so it seems that you’re both going to have to practice.

Thoughts on DMC Devil May Cry?

Tbh I think Vergil looks like a dork LEEJDKEHDN which isn’t to say he’s not nor is it to say dork can’t be hot (why would you ask me this question I’m aroace my perception of attractiveness is so wonky 😭 /lh /nm). Anyway I think DMC 5 Vergil is hotter (maybe that’s just cuz he’s a dad though lol) and DMC 3 Vergil is cuter :3

As for my thoughts on the reboot: like any crusty sewage dwelling loser dmc fan I despise it. Dante’s too special to me for him to be treated like some generic edgelord okay 💀💀 However I do subscribe to the notion that it would’ve been much better as its own thing separate from the DMC franchise. Because. I can’t take fucking LEGENDARY DARK KNIGHT Sparda being a sex slave and PRINCE OF THE UNDERWORLD Mundus being overlord of all these night clubs seriously 😭 and the fact Vergil just… randomly becomes an unhinged antagonist after being nothing but a helpful (if teasing) sidekick is kinda strange (him killing a pregnant demon also just rubs me the wrong way, especially considering the demons in the reboot are a lot more human. Vergil’s done some fucked up shit but that just kinda came outta left field for me idk). Though it’s also been a while since I’ve seen a play-through of the game so I could be completely misremembering. Either way, for me the best part of the reboot is that line Vergil makes to Dante about his dick being bigger (14 year old me thought that was particularly haha funny) and the kickass soundtrack (I absolutely adore Combichrist). Oh, and as its own thing, I really liked the improved gameplay and some of the ideas (particularly the angel stuff and whatever that ghost world thing was) were interesting. Aside from that though i don’t have much more to say that some dudebro hasn’t already said for me 😭

Well that depends on how you want to be taken care of.

Dante, for example, is a bit clueless sometimes. But he has your best interest at heart. So he knows that when he was a little boy and he felt sick, his mother would always cradle him in her arms and give him so medicine and make sure he got a lot of rest. So he is going to put you into his bed, and snuggle you and give you the warmth you need. He'll also go fetch anything you need, and he is very good with giving you medicine and making sure your temperature isn't too hot.

Vergil, though socially awkward and unable to connect at times, he knows you need care. He will make you a comfy spot on his bed, and he will make sure you have lots of fluids and rest. He likes to cuddle you and read to you when you aren't sleeping. Vergil will make you soup as well, making sure to put lots of spices and herbs that will help get you better in no time.

Nero would be so sweet. So patient and kind. He might take you to the doctor if he thinks it's serious. If not, Nero has all the stuff you need to get better. And he also tries his hand at making you some soup. He would give you a warm bath, and wash you from head to toe. Afterwards, he is big on cuddling you and watching some TV until you fall asleep.

so anyways to preface a few things:

THESE ARE MY OWN DANG OPINIONS ON OBSERVATIONS I'VE MADE DURING MY TIME IN THE FANBASE. if you or someone you like does these things, then that's totally freakin fine! that just means that content isn't gonna be smth I'm gonna enjoy nor consume. anyone is allowed to have their own interpretations of the characters different from the text of the game, the only issue is when people take these interpretations to be canon/word of god and tout them around as such, thus spreading misinformation.

on that note, the things i write about in the section about flanderization are all things based on the text from the games, novels, mangas, and artbooks and if you disagree then just note that in ur head and move or tell me how my interpretation of the text given may differ from yours! i love discussing dmc lore and characterization with other fans!

this post will contain a lot of me doggin on fandom memes or interpretations and if a negative tone like that upsets you, then maybe just scroll past.

and lastly: a warning for a mention of self harm, but only a small mention. nothing in too much detail. read at your own discretion.

first off: yall gotta cool it with the dante haha pizza strawberry shit 😭😭 some ppl rly only reduce him to those things. even if they are his staple foods, he most certainly is not just that. its so annoying. see my tweets below:

next up: there is a HUGE problem with flanderization (reducing the characters to one or a few base traits that, although may be true, are not all a character is). its bad with dante but WAY worse with vergil. nero also suffers from it but its hard to observe cuz no his fanbase is far smaller than vergils and dantes, so I'm not gonna get into him here tbh.

in the case of vergil: ppl write him as a, to quote the johnlock fandom and toplock antis, "dark fuck prince" when he just isn't that. but then they write him as being completely out of touch when he just. isnt that. there's also the issue of the funny power chair haha memes being all he's reduced to.

his quest for power, although a funny haha, isn't all there is to him. he's on that quest because of his trauma and inferiority complex. he fears being weak because it's what he felt when he lost everything and everyone he cared abt.

more than likely, he feels some level of regret for what he put nero through as a father. and although he didnt speak much with him, he still felt he got to connect with him though his time as V, and was able to communicate with him through their battling at the end of 5 (hence his lack of concern for how he felt to have met nero as his son when dante asked).

in the case of dante: there is an issue with interpreting Dante as a hypermasculine, super cool action hero who's a total ladies man and a womanizer. but there's the opposite end with the interpretation of dante almost as if he's a child clinging to a toy with no fight in him. while both of these interpretations of Dante hold weight to some extent, they are taken to either extreme which weakens his character. dante is very multifaceted.

he is very introspective but appears to just be very simpleminded and cocky, a man who loves to goof around and likes to act like the heroes in the movies he watches or the comics he reads (as seen in the dmc1 novel and dmc5). but then u peel back that layer of cockiness, and u see he's just a down to earth guy who just wants to make it to the next day. but then you peel back that down to earth layer, and he's a man so desperate to deny his heritage and insistent on his humanity. but then u peel back that layer, and he's a deeply traumatized man with a strong sense of right and wrong who cares deeply for everyone around him, even those who have hurt him. he's come to acknowledge the fact that he won't be able to save everyone, but he has yet to accept that fact. at the end of the day, none of those layers of Dante are fake, they're all apart of him. he can still be a fun loving goof who is still very caring to those around him and depressed. but so many fans just do surface level things or think he can only be one or the other at a certain time rather than a mix of all.

dante is a man with a lot of love to give and he's very down to earth. he might not be forthcoming about what he wants but when he wants smth he yearns for it rather than acting and trying to get it. more than anything, though, he doesn't want to be alone. he really can't be left alone because of his introspective nature; otherwise, he'd get so lost in his own head and heart, to the point where he can't get out of his head, so it'd lead to him harming his body to try and find a way out.

letter number 3: i dont like how some ppl write dialogue for Dante and vergil im so sorry 😭😭

I've seen ppl write dante like he's a cowboy. he talks very casual but he's not like that.

getting into that why do ppl feel the need to try and write out every quirk of a characters' speech in text? like with nico or morrison or cowboy dante? like just write it out normally i can still hear it in the characters' voices when its normal.

but anyways, for vergil, a lot of ppl write him like hes a thesaurus. i feel like this just stems from the way he uniquely enunciates his words. his speech is not far off from Nero or Dante's casual speak, he just sprinkles in a few more formal words or enunciates normal words in a way that makes them sound fancy or bigger.

number d: i dont think nero can carry his own game. i just dont. call me a filthy Dante stan, but dmc is about the story of dante and his family? hence why hes the main character? so to have a game with just nero would make it feel weaker and detract from those themes. as well, there's so many more stories thar can be told with dante and/or vergil with nero there too either after 5 or before 5. like what happened in the ten years between dmc3 and dmc1? why did Dante's demeanor change so much from 2 to 4? what other stories could be told between the previous games?

???: dante might as well be a female character with how little itsuno likes to use him and do stuff with him.

finally: vergil stans have had it too good I'm coming for u guys. we get it itsuno loves vergil and nero and will give them everything. meanwhile dante stans have to deal with the scraps matt walker fights for us to have. yall are too loud and act like the minority when you guys are the majority 😭😭😭
