Different Types Of Perfumes and How To Wear a Perfume

Fragrance is complex combinations of natural and/or man-made substances that are added to many consumer products to give them a distinctive smell and is blanket term that referes to any concentration of scent.

Perfume refers to a fragrance that contains a higher concentration of “juice” (the essences that make up the scent) than an eau de parfum, eau de toilette, or eau de cologne version of that same fragrance would contain. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-difference-between-a-perfume-and-a-fragrance

Perfume Types

Eau de Cologne

Eau de cologne, or EDC, has a much lower concentration of fragrance than the above types of perfume. EDC generally has a 2% to 4% percent concentration of fragrance and a high concentration of alcohol. It is cheaper than other types of fragrance however the scent generally only lasts for up to two hours. EDC generally comes in bigger bottles and more of the fragrance needs to be used. Originally eau de cologne referred to a traditional recipe that used herb and citrus notes with little anchoring with base notes.

Eau de Toilette

Eau de toilette (EDT) has a fragrance concentration of between 5% and 15%. It is cheaper than eau de parfum and is one of the most popular types of fragrance available. EDT fragrance will normally last for two to three hours. Eau de toilette is considered by some to be for daywear while eau de parfum is considered nightwear. The term eau de toilette came from the French term “faire sa toilette” which means getting ready.

Eau de Parfum

After parfum, eau de parfum (EDP) has the next highest concentration of fragrance. Eau de parfum generally has a fragrance concentration of between 15% and 20%. On average, eau de parfum will last for four to five hours. It is also generally less expensive that parfum and while it does have a higher concentration of alcohol than parfum, it is better for sensitive skin than other fragrance types. Eau de parfum is one of the most common fragrance types and is suitable for everyday wear.

Parfum

Parfum, also known as extrait de parfum or pure perfume, has the highest fragrance concentration. Parfum will contain anywhere from 15% to 40% fragrance however concentration is generally between 20% to 30% for most parfums. Of all scents, parfums last the longest; usually six to eight hours. Parfum generally also commands the highest price of all the fragrance types due to the high concentration of fragrance. People with sensitive skin may do better with parfums as they have far less alcohol than other fragrance types and therefore are not as likely to dry out the skin.

How To Wear Perfume

Wearing fragrance is easy—a little spritz, and you’re done. But wearing fragrance wellrequires a little more skill and finesse. For example: Did you know that correct placement depends entirely on both the environment in which it’s worn and the outfit for which it accessorizes? And that tendency you have toward dressing your wrists and then rubbing them together? “Very bad” .Fortunately, a few simple tweaks can set you back on the right olfactory course. Here are five common mistakes people make when it comes to buying and wearing perfume—and how to fix them in a flash.

Don’t Rub-Just Spray That almost unconscious application habit—misting a little scent on your wrists and then pressing them together before reaching for your neck—is actually “very bad”,Why? The friction created by rubbing “heats up the skin, which produces natural enzymes that change the course of the scent.” Most impacted are the top and middle notes, along with the dry-down, or the last and longest period of your fragrance’s unfolding.To preserve the integrity of your fragrance (and also ensure it lasts longer on your skin), spritz both wrists lightly, let the liquid sink in, and then do absolutely nothing at all.

Environment Is Key When it comes to storage, perfume is almost like a living organism—it’s extremely sensitive to environmental changes. “Perfume doesn’t like going from cold to hot,”adding that such shifts in temperature set off unexpected chemical reactions within the natural ingredients, and therefore age the perfume faster. The best place to store fragrance is the box it originally came in, and at room temperature.

Rub On Vaseline Before Spraying Perfume Rub on pulse point with Vaseline before spraying perfume makes the scent last longer. The ointment, which is occlusive, will hold the fragrance to your skin longer than if you were to spray it onto dry skin.

The Story Behind “VenVortex”

VenVortex was born as Sibusiso Mxotwa from a little dusty place in Eastern Cape called Dimbaza on the 12 of September 1993. He was raised around music mostly from Blues, Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Gospel, House, RnB & Hip Hop just to name a few. His mother & father being the huge contributors for his love for music.

The name Ven comes from the last 3 letters in eleven since his from Eleven block Dimbaza and his regarded the place as the center of everything that’s violent. He also says he wanted to be an astronaut when he grew up and he was always called Vortex. Then he just combined the two to make VenVortex.

In 2008 that is when he started writing songs not only for himself but also for his peers from there on 2009 he recorded his first song under Promusic a label they started with his friends. He did numerous interviews, music videos, features and event performances around Eastern Cape until he started working on his own company in 2016 named Mogul Family Triangle (PTY) Ltd.

He released numerous mix tapes under his label (Mogul Family Music) i.e Trap Holladae, Interstellar Mind, Love Conscious, Blink of a heart, Vitalization98 and 2Wks In 2018. Each one having a lot of great songs even cult classics for him. A high number of features from upcoming acts around Eastern Cape. His music videos are doing pretty well online without being marketed in anyway. Most of his followers are waiting for the long awaited album PAXXION.
