❆ Wedding looks from the Winter Court!
❆ I was hoping to post this one during Winter Court Week but I put too much on my plate as usual
❆ Let me know what court you want to see wedding looks from next!
❆ Please do not repost or use with AI
See my head cannons below the cut!
❆ Varying shades of white and grey hair are common throughout the winter Court, as well as grey eyes
❆ Even in the cold, brides still get married outside under arches made of icicles or beside frozen waterfalls
❆ Which means that wedding looks require lots of layers and warmth!
❆ I imagine light blue seudes, crushed white velvet, shimmering embroidery, iridescent tulle, lace with snowflake patterns, and warm knit stockings.
❆ The crystals, sparkles, and pearls adorning each look are made of ice, enchanted not to melt! The earrings are frozen water droplets and shards of ice.
❆ This bride's bouquet includes white and blush roses, eucalyptus, pine fronds, baby's breath, and red winter berries.
❆ The skirt of the wedding dress was inspired by the Water Tribe outfit designs in ATLA.
❆ Find the rest of the inspo pics here!

Just read your Bilehwit Au on Ao3 and was greetes by the amazing ref for the lamb here on tumblr!
And yes i absolutely love it when people explain clothing choices in character design especially since you wrote Lamb culture is based on the Old English pls do ramble 🙏
Well hello!! This my first ask from someone I've never met before, so I'll ask you to please be patient with my wild trails of thought.
This will be a long one, but I'll focus on two main outfits - the daily wear and the ritual outfit, as they have the most symbolism.
The easiest one is obviously the leaf outfit - cute, I love it so much!
The leaf was chosen for its symbolism in English mythology. The tree itself is well beloved as a symbol of strength and a symbol of fertility - acorns are often depicted as lucky, and an oak full of acorns is a good sign of fertility!
I also chose oak because I think they're very beautiful trees - they can live for up to 1,000 years, and they can grow to 30 meters wide in their leaves. That's amazing to me. They also smell nice, and I remember climbing them when I was little, so it's nice to share the oak with my lambsona.
Next, let's talk about the sacrifice outfit - it's oddly bridal, no?
Well it's intended to be!
The use of white/silver to denote Purity is an old concept, but white wedding dresses in England were only truly popularised after Queen Victoria wore the colour to her wedding - previously a mourning shade.
I chose silver satin as the fabric, and a simple design, as I wanted a bridal look but also something that felt sleek and pure. Bilehwit is a virgin (virgin sacrifice in all ways) and it's a cruel trick to play.
Also, Shamura in my fic struggles to see/differentiate between objects, so having an all white lamb made it easier for them to stay focused.
So while this outfit feels bridal to us, the symbolism in fic is more that it was easier than dying fabric, just raw spider thread spun into a dress.
Shamura did make the veil themself, though, for reasons you will see later ;3
Now, we get to the heavy hitters! First up, the daily outfit.
Now, Anglo-Saxons were all about those layers! So this outfit actually has more layers than you'd even think.
Under the base dress is a thin cotton chemise, or under dress, made to soak up the oils of the skin and sweat, changed most often. Bilehwit would use these as pyjamas in the summer months, too, to keep cool while covered and decent.
The next layer is the linen, with the thin dark band. This would be a slightly tighter layer to the body, and would be long sleeved to offer protection from the sun and the cold. Linen would be the lighter colours, as they'd be protected more, and linen was used as a middling layer to hold heat in winter. Air would be trapped between layers and keep people warm, and also it protected them from any scratchy wool. The woven ribbon at the bottom is decorative.
The next layer is my favourite. This is the red layer, the thicker dress, made often from wool or from linen again. This is made from wool, using a technique called naalbinding, which is what the Anglo-Saxons would have used, as they didn't knit like is common today.
Anglo-Saxon embroidery and weaving was actually really well known in Europe for its fine work and was gifted to Emissaries and Kings. The weaving and sewing business in England went hard as hell, and it's where most people would be employed for personal use or as gifts.
The embroidery of flowers on the cuffs of the red dress, as well as the colar, are those of Achillea millefolium, or 'Red Velvet', flowers. These tiny buds are native to Europe, western Asia and North America, and are small blooms that self seed and explode into colour. I chose them after seeing the flowers on a sketch, and decided that I had to include them.
Red in flower language is always to do with romance and passion. I wanted Bilehwit to show that desire, as they are a hopeless romantic at heart, and they also just feel a deep-seated loneliness that they want filled. The red flowers are the only flowers they've ever been given, and they've spent hours tracing the embroidery threads and staring silently at the sky.
The final apron layer is just that - an apron. It's a thin, boxy piece of fabric that is played on top to ensure the front of the dress stays somewhat clean, and there is a secret pocket behind it that they store honey-sweets in for children (and themself). Just a length of plain cut cloth!
Tied together with a woven belt, this outfit is my second favourite - I love every detail, and when I can talk in fic about it, I will spend thousands of words trying to detail what it means to me, and probably failing.
The final outfit now, one that definitely won't be seen in fic for a good long while - the Fancy/Ritual set.
Look at ittttt ahahahahagahqabqgagagquipqguqugjv
Okay, keysmash over, serious time!
Now, this outfit is interesting, because not only does it have embroidery and styles of old English culture, it also has mixes of Indian influence too!
"Well, that's random to add," I hear you murmur, and you're right. Why would I add that?
Well, because originally I was going to make Narinder have a more Egyptian vibe! I thought; ah, perfect, he'd do great as a Sphynx cat, the Egyptians loved those cats.
See, as it turns out, Narinder is actually a Sanskrit/Hindu name. It's a form of the name Narendra, a masculine name that means "Lord of Men". It's a very formal name, and one I immediately knew I had to switch things around for.
Following this, I was also able to determine the domains and cultures of each other Bishop, by tracing back names and meanings! That's a whole other post I fear.
Back to the dress!
The outline is far more recent than Old English, medieval style dresses, and that's because, uh... I wanted it. (This one is not very historically accurate. Forgive me.)
I wanted a mix of English style embroidery and Indian embroidery styles. Will come back and edit in which style I went with specifically, but I wanted the ritual set to be a touch more dedicated to Narinder, with darker colours, and more Indian fusion embroidery.
The black is velvet, the red is silk, and the white is linen - why? Again, it looks cool.
I can't lie, I have very little explanation for this besides the fact it looks bangin'.
But yes!! That's all my explanations at this current point in time for outfits! However, if you have any further questions, please ask away, and I will happily detail everything and anything about my AU and fic! Thank you for joining me on my rambling!

Downton Abbey Fashion 29 - festive occasions in the 1920s
There are times when the Crawleys wear a sort of outfit that I tentatively want to call “semi-formal”? They leave the house in these, so it’s not exactly an indoor look, and it’s day wear, not evening, but it’s often more lightweight than a coat or walking suit, and the optics go more in the direction of their garden fashions – light, mostly pastel colors, flowered hats, loosely falling robes… The occasions in question are 1st, Mary’s wedding, 2nd, a family picnic at Eryholme which at that time might become their new home, 3rd, Edith’s little disaster of a wedding, and finally, the baptism of Sybil junior.
The only occasion for which Violet bothers to get a new outfit is Mary’s wedding; for the others, she repeats a few of her already-established coats. This is stylistically familiar though, and in fact she combines it with a tulle-wrapped hat she’s worn before. I do love the cream coat; can’t quite tell the material, but it’s something softly shiny. And then she goes all extra on the cuffs and hem – this trim is easily five or six inches of piping flowers and ferns.
--------------
Remember when I said that Martha doesn’t really cross the line into tasteless? Well. I’ll admit it: This one is kind of tacky. Lady, tone down the fur and velvet; this is not a winter wedding. Admittedly, the turban-like head wrap is something I would have enjoyed a great deal more in an evening setting. Martha loves her some quirky 1920s headdresses. But for the day, the plumage seem a little much.
--------------
For her son’s wedding to Mary, Isobel got a lovely light blue walking coat that she repeats later for the Eryholme picnic, if with a less frothy hat. What I find funny during the wedding is that the cream collar with the darling birds-and-flowers embroidery makes Isobel look like she coordinated with the random extra next to her, a nameless lady in cream with a similar embroidery motif on the lapels.
--------------
Cora wears this long lavender coat for Mary’s wedding and for Sybbie’s baptism, a pretty rose-patterned damask with a long plain collar. I think this is supposed to be a matching set with the dress she wears under it, a lilac number with a velvet sash. The main variation between the wedding and the baptism is that for the former, she wears a ton of white fabric flowers on her hat and another huge one pinned to her lapel, whereas for the baptism she’s way more toned down, nothing on her lapel and the flowers on her hat much smaller and darker. Granted, that baptism has an overlap with mourning time.
Despite financial hardships, Cora can afford new hats all the time. What do you know. I kind of like the pleated design of the crown here, but not the overall shape if that makes sense. The sandy walking suit with the giant folded lapels will transition into her everyday wardrobe in season 4, although by then she picks a rather less flattering hat to go with it. I don’t know what these buttons are doing down there; they sure aren’t shutting the coat in any meaningful way. They just look nice, I guess.
This is Cora’s get-up for Edith’s wedding, and it has to be the first time I am aware of that the hatband was actually made to fit the cardigan. See? That’s the exact same flower embroidery. And back with a ton of white flowers on her hat. I like the jacket, but the outfit overall is a bit unspectacular, as is to be expected from a wedding guest who’s not to outshine the bride. Would probably pop more if she wore that over a red blouse.
--------------
We’ll get to what Mary wears to her wedding in a separate post, but for Edith’s wedding, she shows up in light blue chiffon and what I think is a layer of white lace. The drop waist sash, the sleeves and the hatband are all the same material, all pastel on pastel plus pearls; it’s all very rich boring white people. But at least it’s flattering. Edith gets fucked over by her outfits for these occasions.
Granted, Mary’s baptism look is really dowdy. Why is she dressed like her mother-in-law? This dress tries to do something with lavender and purple piping, but the placement of it doesn’t do much to enhance the outfit. I think she stole her mother’s jewelry again though; this is the exact necklace Cora was wearing with her beige picnic coat above.
--------------
Why. Why did they put Edith in this for Mary’s wedding? At this point, her sense of fashion has developed so much that this stupid, unflattering granny dress looks dissonant. She’s wearing a sack with a big flower on it. And what’s with the plump pin tucks in the skirt? They throw this so off balance. Ugh, anyway. The hat is quite lovely.
I found the last dress so ugly that this one, which she wears for the baptism, is already an upgrade. The color is not for Edith imo, but the drop waist has a patterned sash that is kind of nice, and while the sleeves look baggy, it at least has a pretty neckline.
--------------
Sybil got a rather nice look for Mary’s wedding. Why couldn’t Edith wear something like this? The color and weight is similar, blue chiffon, but the scarf matching the dress looks way more elegant than that strange embroidery. Any additional color is banned to the hat embroidery, which looks cute but less grand than those of her relatives because Sybil isn’t about that life anymore.
Her hat for Edith’s wedding has pretty much the same shape, the brim widening to the front and curving a bit up to form something akin to a bonnet, but it’s white with a lilac ribbon to match her dress. This dress is quite similar to Mary’s for the same event, chiffon with floral white lace, but it has some additional trim with an under layer in a darker purple, and the skirt has a little gathering on the side.

From Casual to Formal: Engagement Party Outfit Ideas for Guests
An engagement party is one of the first big milestones on the road to the wedding, and as a guest, it’s essential to find the perfect outfit that strikes the right balance between celebration and sophistication. Whether you’re attending a chic city soirée or a laid-back backyard bash, your outfit should reflect the occasion while still allowing you to feel comfortable and stylish.
In this blog, we’ll explore what to wear to an engagement party, whether you should bring a gift, and how you can match your style to the theme of the event. Additionally, we’ll touch on popular themes and decorations for engagement parties, ensuring that you not only look great but also feel immersed in the ambiance of the celebration.
Understanding the Dress Code
The first step to selecting the perfect outfit for an engagement party is understanding the dress code. Invitations will often provide clues—such as "cocktail attire," "smart casual," or "semi-formal"—so take these suggestions into account when planning your look.
Casual Engagement Party
For a more casual celebration, you can opt for a smart yet relaxed outfit. A stylish sundress, jumpsuit, or a chic blouse with tailored pants would work perfectly. For men, think along the lines of chinos and a button-down shirt.
Semi-Formal or Cocktail Attire
If the engagement party is semi-formal, consider elevating your look. Women can wear cocktail dresses or stylish separates, while men should choose trousers paired with a blazer. Keep accessories elegant, and avoid anything too over-the-top.
Formal Engagement Party
A formal engagement party may call for a more polished outfit. This is the time to bring out a full-length dress or an elegant suit. For men, a suit and tie are standard, while women can go for sophisticated gowns or tailored evening dresses.
What to Wear to an Engagement Party in Different Seasons
Spring and Summer Engagement Parties
Spring and summer engagement parties often take place outdoors, meaning you can incorporate light, airy fabrics and soft colors into your look. Floral prints, pastel tones, and light fabrics like cotton and linen are perfect for these warm-weather events.
For men, lighter suits in shades like grey or beige, paired with a crisp shirt, work well. Women can embrace sundresses, flowy maxi dresses, or stylish jumpsuits. Remember to consider the venue—if the party is outdoors, you might want to opt for comfortable footwear like wedges or flats.
Fall and Winter Engagement Parties
For colder seasons, choose richer fabrics like velvet, wool, or cashmere to stay warm while still looking chic. Darker colors such as burgundy, navy, or emerald are perfect for a cozy, autumnal feel. A well-fitted coat or elegant scarf can add a stylish touch without compromising comfort.
Men can lean toward darker suits or blazers with warm accessories like a scarf or tie in seasonal hues. Women should consider long-sleeved dresses, structured blazers, or chic ankle boots.
What Not to Wear to an Engagement Party
Regardless of the dress code, some general rules apply to engagement party attire. Steer clear of white (unless explicitly encouraged) as this color is traditionally reserved for the bride. Additionally, avoid anything too casual or revealing, as engagement parties, though fun, are still formal occasions.
Should You Bring a Gift to an Engagement Party?
One common question that guests often have is whether they should bring a gift to an engagement party. While it isn’t always expected, it can be a thoughtful gesture to bring something small and meaningful.
Consider asking the couple’s family or the party host if gifts are appropriate. If you do decide to bring something, keep it simple: a bottle of wine, a decorative item for their home, or even a heartfelt card. In many cases, the engagement party is about celebrating the couple’s love, so extravagant gifts aren’t necessary.
If the invitation mentions a "no gifts" policy, be sure to respect the couple's wishes.
Matching Your Outfit to the Party’s Theme and Decorations
To really impress, coordinate your outfit with the overall theme or color scheme of the engagement party. This shows that you’ve paid attention to the details and want to align your style with the couple’s vision for the event.
If the party has a specific theme—like rustic chic, vintage, or modern glam—use that to inspire your clothing choices. For example:
Rustic Engagement Party: A floral maxi dress for women or a linen shirt for men would be a great fit.
Vintage Engagement Party: Channel old-world glamour with a lace dress or suspenders.
Modern Glam Engagement Party: Opt for sleek silhouettes and metallic accents to complement the party’s contemporary decor.
Decorations for Engagement Party: Coordinating Style with Event Vibe
The engagement party is not only about what you wear but also how the decorations set the stage for the celebration. The event decor often reflects the couple's personality and the vibe they want to create for the entire wedding journey.
Outdoor Garden Engagement Party
If the engagement party is hosted in an outdoor garden setting, expect decorations to highlight natural beauty. Twinkling fairy lights, floral centerpieces, and rustic tablescapes create a romantic atmosphere. To complement the theme, choose soft, flowy outfits and neutral tones to align with the serene ambiance.
Indoor Glam Engagement Party
For indoor venues with elegant decor—think chandeliers, lavish floral arrangements, and gold accents—go for a more glamorous look. Velvet fabrics, statement jewelry, and classic heels will ensure you fit right in with the upscale vibe.
Best Rental Wedding Decoration Services for Engagement Parties
To enhance the aesthetic of any engagement party, couples often turn to the best rental wedding decoration services. These companies provide everything from seating arrangements to floral installations, transforming any space into a breathtaking venue. By opting for rental services, you can achieve an elegant look without overspending. If you're attending a party organized by a rental decor company, your attire can reflect the elevated, curated style of the event.
Party Decorations in Montreal and Vancouver
Guests attending engagement parties in larger cities like Montreal or Vancouver may encounter different decor trends. In Montreal, a blend of European charm and modern style often influences engagement party decor. Sophisticated and chic, you might see minimalist floral arrangements, soft lighting, and sleek furniture.
In Vancouver, nature-inspired elements dominate. Outdoor engagement parties are popular, with event decor featuring greenery, wooden accents, and sustainable touches. Reflect these natural themes by choosing outfits that are stylish yet understated, with subtle accessories and organic fabrics.
Event Decorations That Wow: How To Match Your Outfit
Take cues from event decorations when planning your look. If the party features bold and vibrant decorations—such as bright florals, colorful linens, or statement tableware—feel free to be a bit more daring with your color choices. On the other hand, if the decor is more muted and minimal, opt for elegant, neutral tones that mirror the ambiance.
Decor Company Toronto
Toronto offers numerous high-end decor companies that specialize in creating engagement parties with unique themes and luxurious touches. If you're attending a party designed by a professional decor company Toronto, lean toward classic, polished attire. Think tailored dresses or suits that reflect the sophistication of the decor.
Conclusion: Style with Confidence
Ultimately, when attending an engagement party, your style should be a mix of comfort, elegance, and personalization. Whether you're dressing for a casual backyard gathering or a formal city celebration, make sure to match your outfit to the tone of the event. Don't forget to consider the couple's personalities and party decor, as these elements will guide your choices for Toronto's top event decor companies.
And remember: while your outfit is important, the most vital part of attending an engagement party is to share in the love and excitement of the couple’s journey. So, wear something you feel fabulous in, bring a small token of appreciation if appropriate, and get ready to celebrate! To read more about Cost of Wedding Shower Party Decorations

expanding on the last post: What The Crimson Peak Costumes Are Made Of (I Think)
Lucille:
Blood Drop Dress (red party dress)- silk taffeta
Black dress- silk-velvet bodice and overskirt, silk taffeta underskirt
Blue dress- see above
Winter coat- wool
Robe and nightgown- silk habotai/china silk with a silk moire sash (moire pattern only visible in one BTS pic I've found so far)
Deleted scene undergarments- cotton sateen corset (I hope, given the wear to it), matching silk taffeta petticoat
Edith:
Buffalo Bookworm Suit (suit for her publisher's office)- silk taffeta
Park outfit- pleated silk habotai shirtwaist, silk taffeta skirt, belt likely a celluloid faux buckle and wool braid strap in-story and resin faux buckle + synthetic braid strap IRL
Carter's Office outfit- see above, just a different shirtwaist and with a silk tie
Buffalo nightwear set- cotton nightgown under a silk-velvet robe
Ball gown- silk satin with some sort of tulle underskirt briefly visible near the beginning and end of her dance scene
Heartbreak Dress (dinner party dress)- pleated lightweight silk, possibly habotai? but heavier than the fabric of her shirtwaists
Buffalo coat- wool
mourning dress- silk taffeta (the designer claims this is her wedding gown, but bereaved brides were HEAVILY pressured to leave off mourning on their wedding days, and I can't imagine the wedding and Carter's funeral would be on the same date anyway)
Allerdale coat- wool
Briefly-seen lingerie and net dressing gown- cotton or linen combinations which later appear in the sex scene, cotton sateen corset, dressing gown of what I imagine is crocheted silk cord + silk habotai
Nancy Drew Dress (canary-yellow dress)- silk satin
Allerdale nightwear set- silk satin robe with a pleated silk habotai nightgown underneath
Allerdale cape- wool
Thomas
Pretty much all of his outfits are wool suits over silk brocade waistcoats and linen shirts. with the exception of his formal outfit for the ball and dinner party, which appears to have a cotton shirt, white vest of a material I can't quite make out, and silk bow tie
#crimson peak#movie costuming#please distract me from freaking out with every movement that I'm going to dislodge my gum graft and it will reject

Imperial Weddings during the Romanov Reign
The bridal ensemble of a Romanov imperial bride was always the same. It could not deviate from the regulations estipulated by the imperial code. They wore dresses made of cloth of silver or gold, with jeweled buttons down the skirt, topped by a velvet and ermine mantle.
Their diamond accessories included the grand tiara made for Empress Elizabeth, which featured the Paul I Pink Diamond, as well as the Nuptial Crown, the Cherry Earrings, the Diamond Necklace, the Diamond Bracelet, and the Cloak Clasp, which had been made for Catherine the Great. A royal wedding outfit weighed 25-30 kg. Standing still in it all day was difficult, let alone moving around! Sometimes the exhausted brides had to be carried.
According to tradition, brides in the Romanov family donated their wedding dresses to the church afterward. However, Alexandra Feodorovna, the last empress of Russia, decided to keep hers. That is why her wedding dress has survived to this day (it is on exhibition in the Hermitage.) This was considered an omen of bad luck.
Since Queen Victoria could not attend the wedding of her beloved granddaughter Alix in Russia, her other granddaughter, Alexandra's sister, Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, sketched Alix’s wedding dress without the jewels and the velvet cloak and sent the sketch to their grandmother with a letter. In the letter, she discusses the lace veil worn by Alix as her bridal veil. It was the same lace wedding veil worn by her mother, Princess Alice of the United Kingdom, and her sisters, Princess Victoria, Grand Duchess Ella, and Princess Irene. See the sketches below.
Towards the end of the Romanov tenure as rulers of Russia, regulations relaxed somewhat. Nicholas II's sister Olga, who was notoriously rebellious regarding protocol, did not conduct her first wedding according to the imperial code and wore a regular wedding dress and none of the jewels. Her second wedding years later was even more casual. Prince Marie of Greece and Denmark (to become Grand Duchess Marie Georgevna by marriage) refused to get married in Russia or wear the wedding regalia, although she wore Russian court dress. The tradition had been for all imperial women to marry at the chapel in the Winter Palace, and it was not broken even for Queen Victoria, who could not travel so far by the time her second son, Prince Alfred Ernest, married Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna, the daughter of Emperor Alexander II.

From the exquisite wedding lehengas to trendy bridesmaid dresses, it's essential to plan ahead and ensure that you look your best while complementing the bride's style. In this blog post, we'll provide you with a comprehensive bridesmaid checklist to help you navigate through the process of finding the ideal dress for various wedding events, including engagement ceremony, weddings, and more.
Wedding Theme and Dress Code:
Before starting your hunt for the perfect bridesmaid attire, understand the wedding theme and dress code. Aligning your Indian dress with the overall ambiance of the wedding is of utmost importance. Whether it's a traditional or modern affair, knowing the theme will guide your choices and help you select an appropriate ensemble.
Explore Bridal Lehengas:
While the bride will be the center of attention in her bridal lehenga, you can complement her look by choosing a bridesmaid lehenga that complements the bride's outfit and matches the wedding color palette. Consider the bride's preferences and coordinate with her to find a lehenga that strikes the perfect balance between individual style and overall harmony.
Bridesmaid Dresses for Indian Weddings:
If the wedding calls for Indian dresses, explore a range of bridesmaid dresses that suit the occasion. Consider the wedding's color scheme and preferences while choosing a dress that flatters your body type. You can opt for various styles such as flared lehenga choli for women, long flowing, frock style Anarkali Suit, Two piece outfit like Sharara, Croptop, floor length Gowns keeping in mind the bride's overall vision and your own comfort.
Dresses to Wear to Weddings:
Apart from the main wedding event, there may be additional occasions like engagement ceremonies, Haldi ceremony, cocktail parties, and sangeet nights. Plan your wardrobe in advance, considering the specific dress codes for these events. Explore elegant and fashionable options like Anarkali dresses, indo-western fusion outfits, or contemporary gowns that reflect your personal style and the ambiance of the event.
Wedding Wear Dresses for Different Seasons:
Consider the season and climate when selecting your bridesmaid dress. Opt for lighter fabrics and breathable materials like chiffon or georgette for summer weddings, while velvet or silk blends work well for winter weddings. Choosing weather-appropriate dresses will ensure you're comfortable throughout the festivities.
Accessories and Footwear:
Complete your bridesmaid ensemble with the right accessories and footwear. Coordinate with the bride and other bridesmaids to maintain a cohesive look. Choose accessories like statement jewelry, elegant clutches, and stylish footwear that complement your dress and elevate your overall appearance.
Alterations and Fittings:
Ensure you have ample time for alterations and fittings to ensure your bridesmaid dress fits perfectly. Schedule appointments with a trusted tailor or boutique well in advance to avoid any last-minute alterations. This step is crucial for achieving a polished and well-fitted look on the wedding day.
Being a bridesmaid is a privilege, and selecting the perfect wedding wear dresses is a key aspect of fulfilling your role. Top Rajwadi Dress Trends for Wedding Season 2025
The wedding season of 2025 is here, and nothing captures the essence of grandeur and royalty quite like a Rajwadi dress. At Rangwala Rajwadi Poshak Ghar, we take pride in curating the finest Rajputi ensembles that blend tradition with modern trends. If you’re planning your dream wedding or attending one, here are the top Rajwadi dress trends to make you stand out this season.
1. Pastel Hues with Intricate Embroidery
Gone are the days when bright reds and maroons dominated wedding wardrobes. This season, pastel shades like mint green, blush pink, and powder blue are taking center stage. Paired with intricate zari and gota patti work, these delicate tones exude sophistication and elegance.
Why Choose It?
Pastel Rajwadi dresses are perfect for daytime weddings and pre-wedding events. The subtle colors allow the embroidery to shine, making you look effortlessly regal.
2. Cape-Style Dupattas
The cape-style dupatta is a modern twist to the traditional Rajwadi dress. This trend is perfect for brides who want to add a contemporary touch while staying true to their roots. Flowing capes with heavy embellishments create a dramatic and glamorous effect.
Styling Tip:
Pair your cape-style dupatta with a heavily embroidered lehenga or a Rajputi poshak for a statement look.
3. Velvet Lehengas with Antique Gold Work
Velvet is making a grand comeback this wedding season. Deep jewel tones like emerald green, royal blue, and burgundy adorned with antique gold embroidery bring out the opulence of Rajwadi attire.
Why Velvet?
Velvet not only keeps you warm during winter weddings but also adds a luxurious texture that photographs beautifully.
4. Fusion Rajwadi Sarees
For those who love experimenting, fusion Rajwadi sarees are a must-try. These sarees combine traditional Rajputi motifs with unconventional draping styles, giving you a chic yet cultural vibe.
Pro Tip:
Add a kamarbandh (waistbelt) to enhance your silhouette and complete the royal look.
5. Mirror Work Magic
Mirror work is a timeless trend that continues to captivate hearts. This season, Rajwadi dresses with intricate mirror work are gaining popularity for their vibrant and festive appearance.
Best Occasions:
Opt for mirror work outfits for sangeet nights or mehendi ceremonies to dazzle under the lights.
6. Customizable Rajwadi Bridal Sets
Customization is key in 2025. Brides are now opting for personalized Rajwadi dresses that reflect their unique style and story. From choosing specific embroidery patterns to incorporating family crests, customization adds a personal touch to your wedding ensemble.
Why Rangwala Rajwadi Poshak Ghar?

Styling Suggestion:
Match your layered lehenga with a statement necklace and traditional Rajputi jewelry for a complete royal ensemble.

How to Choose the Perfect Lehenga for a Wedding Guest
Attending a wedding is always a special occasion, and choosing the perfect lehenga for women can be both exciting and overwhelming. With countless designs, fabrics, and styles available, it’s important to find a wedding lehenga for women that balances elegance and comfort. Whether you’re a close relative or a distant guest, here’s a comprehensive guide to help you make the right choice.
1. Understand the Dress Code
Before you start shopping, check if the wedding invitation specifies a dress code. Some weddings have themes or color palettes that guests are expected to follow. Knowing these details will help you narrow down your options and ensure that your lehenga aligns with the event’s overall vibe.
2. Prioritize Comfort and Fit
While it’s tempting to go for the most glamorous outfit, comfort should always be a priority. Weddings often involve long hours of rituals, dancing, and socializing, so choose a lehenga that you can move in easily. Opt for lightweight fabrics like georgette, chiffon, or silk blends for added comfort. Make sure the blouse fits well and provides adequate support.
3. Choose the Right Fabric
The fabric of your lehenga can make a significant difference in how it looks and feels. For daytime weddings, consider lighter materials such as organza or net with pastel hues. For evening events, richer fabrics like velvet or brocade in jewel tones can add a touch of luxury. The choice of fabric also depends on the season; breathable fabrics work best for summer weddings, while heavier options are ideal for winter ceremonies.
4. Pick a Design That Suits Your Style
Lehenga designs range from minimalistic to heavily embellished. If you prefer a subtle look, go for a lehenga with delicate embroidery or sequins. For those who love making a statement, opt for intricate zari work, mirror embellishments, or floral patterns. The best bridal lehenga designs often inspire wedding guest outfits, so explore trending styles for inspiration.
5. Focus on Color Selection
The color of your lehenga can set the tone for your entire look. While red and maroon are traditional bridal colors, guests should avoid these shades to ensure the bride remains the center of attention. Instead, opt for softer hues like blush pink, mint green, or lavender. Bold colors like royal blue or emerald green are also great choices for evening receptions.
6. Accessorize Thoughtfully
The right accessories can elevate your lehenga look. Choose jewelry that complements the outfit without overpowering it. For example, if your lehenga features heavy embroidery, opt for minimalistic jewelry. On the other hand, a simpler lehenga allows for more elaborate accessories. Don’t forget to select a matching clutch and comfortable footwear to complete your ensemble.
7. Explore Online Options
Shopping online can be a convenient way to explore a wide range of options. Many websites offer curated collections of wedding lehenga for women, making it easier to find the perfect outfit. Look for online stores specializing in traditional wear to discover unique and high-quality pieces.
8. Consider the Occasion’s Formality
The level of formality of the wedding should influence your choice of lehenga. For a grand wedding, opt for more elaborate designs with luxurious fabrics and heavy embellishments. For a more intimate gathering, simpler styles with understated elegance work well. Remember, your outfit should reflect the occasion without outshining the bride.
9. Stay True to Your Personal Style
While trends can be a great source of inspiration, it’s essential to stay true to your personal style. Choose a lehenga that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Whether you prefer traditional designs or modern cuts, your outfit should resonate with your personality.
10. Don’t Forget the Dupatta
The dupatta is an integral part of the lehenga ensemble. Pay attention to its fabric, embroidery, and draping style. A well-draped dupatta can add an extra layer of elegance to your outfit. Experiment with different draping styles to find one that enhances your overall look.
Conclusion
Choosing the perfect lehenga for a wedding guest doesn’t have to be daunting. By considering factors like comfort, fabric, design, and accessories, you can find a wedding lehenga for women that’s both stylish and appropriate. Whether you’re shopping for a designer lehenga or exploring the best bridal lehenga collections for inspiration, remember to prioritize your personal style and the event’s vibe. With these tips, you’ll be ready to turn heads while celebrating in style.

Every bride dreams of looking stunning on her wedding day. The perfect dress may take center stage, but it’s the accessories that add the finishing touches, transforming a beautiful bride into an unforgettable vision. For UK brides, combining modern trends with traditional elements offers a unique opportunity to shine. This blog explores the must-have wedding accessories, including bridal jewellery with an Indian touch and the timeless charm of designer shawls.
Essential Wedding Accessories for UK Brides
Wedding accessories are the key to personalizing your bridal look. From sparkling jewellery to elegant shawls, here are some categories to focus on:
1. Bridal Jewellery
Jewellery is one of the most significant components of a bridal outfit. It’s more than just adornment—it reflects personality, style, and sometimes, cultural heritage.
Trending Bridal Jewellery:
Statement Necklaces: Bold pieces with intricate designs that can elevate any wedding gown.
Delicate Bracelets: For a subtle yet elegant touch.
Earrings: From classic studs to chandelier styles, earrings frame the face beautifully.
Hair Accessories: Jewelled combs, tiaras, or floral pins add a regal touch to any hairstyle.
Tips for Choosing Bridal Jewellery:
Match the jewellery to your dress’s neckline.
Opt for versatile pieces that can be worn after the wedding.
Choose metals and stones that complement your skin tone and gown color.
2. Indian Bridal Jewellery for a Unique Twist
Bridal jewellery Indian is renowned for its opulence and craftsmanship. For UK brides seeking a distinctive look, incorporating Indian elements can be a game-changer.
Popular Indian Bridal Jewellery Pieces:
Kundan Sets: Known for their intricate gold and gemstone work.
Polki Necklaces: Perfect for a royal and traditional vibe.
Maang Tikka: A forehead accessory that pairs beautifully with veils or open hairstyles.
Chura Bangles: Vibrant red and white bangles traditionally worn by brides.
Nath: A large nose ring that adds a dramatic flair.
Pairing Indian jewellery with a modern wedding dress or a fusion outfit creates a mesmerizing look. It’s an excellent way to honor cultural heritage or simply make a bold style statement.
Design Shawls: A Timeless Accessory for UK Weddings
Shawls are an often-overlooked but incredibly versatile accessory. For brides marrying in the UK, where weather can be unpredictable, a design Shawl is both a practical and stylish addition.
Why Choose a Shawl?
Weather Protection: Keeps you warm during outdoor ceremonies or photo shoots.
Added Elegance: A beautifully designed shawl enhances the overall bridal look.
Versatility: Can be draped in various styles to complement your dress.
Popular Shawl Materials:
Silk: Lightweight and luxurious, perfect for summer weddings.
Cashmere: Soft and warm, ideal for autumn or winter ceremonies.
Embroidered Fabrics: Add texture and detail to a simple gown.
Sequined or Beaded Shawls: For a glamorous touch.
How to Style a Bridal Shawl:
Wrap it around your arms for a snug, modern style.
Use it as a head covering for a traditional touch during the ceremony.
Combining Tradition with Modernity
One of the best aspects of modern UK weddings is the freedom to mix and match cultural elements. Here’s how brides can achieve this balance:
Blending Indian Jewellery with Western Outfits:
Pair a Kundan necklace with a strapless or sweetheart neckline gown.
Add bangles to a minimalist dress for a pop of color and tradition.
Use a maang tikka with a veil for an ethereal look.
Incorporating Shawls into Different Wedding Themes:
For a rustic theme, choose earthy-toned shawls with subtle embroidery.
For a royal theme, opt for richly embroidered or velvet shawls.
For a modern minimalist theme, select monochrome shawls with clean lines.
Accessory Shopping Tips for UK Brides
Shopping for wedding accessories can be overwhelming. Here are some tips to make the process smoother:
Set a Budget: Allocate a portion of your wedding budget specifically for accessories.
Research: Browse online and visit local boutiques for inspiration.
Try Before You Buy: Ensure accessories match your dress and overall theme.
Consider Customization: Many designers offer bespoke jewellery and shawls for a truly unique touch.
Care and Maintenance of Accessories
To keep your bridal accessories looking their best, follow these care tips:
Jewellery: Store in individual pouches to avoid scratches and tarnishing. Clean with a soft cloth and gentle solutions.
Shawls: Follow fabric-specific cleaning instructions. Store in breathable bags to prevent moisture damage.
Hair Accessories: Keep in a protective case to avoid bending or breaking.
Conclusion
Bridal accessories are the finishing touches that complete your wedding look. Whether you choose classic jewellery, Indian-inspired designs, or elegant shawls, these details allow you to express your personal style. For UK brides, the blend of tradition and modernity opens up endless possibilities to create a look that’s uniquely yours
