What if abilities changed the appearance of a Pokemon?

Have some more silly birds (I swear I'm going to do non-birds as well lol)! Keen Eye happened twice because I tend to generate more and better ideas as I draw so now you have a full sequence.

SO many people have been doing Pokemon ability forms, so I hopped on the train with dwebble!

This challenge was started by @n0rtist

Shell Armor dwebble has smaller, more delicate claws to help it excavate each shell fossil on the rock it makes its home. These shells help disrupt powerful attacks, preventing critical hits.

Sturdy dwebble has thick, wide claws to keep it safe! It makes its home in the strongest mineral it can find. (this one chose a large chunk of jade) This dwebble's shell is much harder to break than the others'- not even an OH-KO can crack it!

Weak armor dwebble has long legs for running more quickly than its counterparts and long, precise claws for gripping and reattaching lost pieces of its shell. Its shell is made from clay that crumbles easily, so it spends a lot of its time running around with a half broken shell, or without one entirely. Unlike other dwebble, which use their corrosive spray to hollow out and repair their shells, this dwebble spits water to mold the clay.

Path B, otherwise known as “Dimensional Travel for Dummies”, is fun. :)

Nothing like traveling dimensions and universes and accidentally coming across alternate variations of your (dead) brothers with the robot made by your (dead) twin, all while you’re followed by one of your (dead) family members in mute spirit form.

Kroelian HONEDGE, DOUBLADE & GASHINIGAMI (Steel/Dark)

They are based on Sickles and Scythes and the idea of soul-stealing blades. When they "end" someone, their souls become trapped in the piece of clothe at the end of the blade.

They have the ability "Soul Reaper", this absorb any ghost-type attack and restore some HP

What if abilities changed the appearance of a Pokemon? More horses! In this one I just really wanted to play with colours and different horse builds. Draft horses are great so I had to make one draft Rapidash!

I got a rahkshi recently and wanted to draw it so here's this - kind of an experiment with studying a real life object and how to pose it into a interesting composition and then replicating the lighting I got tired of rendering this partway through however :P

More ability forms, this time for Banette! (ft phantump)

Some banettes are formed from dolls that have music boxes inside of them. Their pull string is damaged, and can never retract fully, causing the music box to play discordant music forever. These banettes can never rest properly and are constantly exhausted, sitting slumped in corners with limp arms. They are also the most aggressive due to their lack of sleep, willing to lash out viciously at the slightest misstep. Forever plagued by insomnia, these banettes have deep purple eye bags.

Since many banettes are found in long-forgotten places, they must be able to hunt for berries and items to survive. These banettes grow long fingers to search in every crevice they come across, and have a zippered pouch on their stomach for storing their finds. In battle, these banettes are particularly adept at frisking their opponents to find items that they have hidden.

Very rarely, a banette with the "cursed body" ability can be found. During their time as a doll, these banettes were the sworn protectors of the child that owned them. Having failed in their duty, they were filled with enough rage to come to life as a pokemon. Forever the loyal guardian, this banette will stay by the side of its child, even when they too become a pokemon, having met an unfortunate end deep within the woods. It will not fail again.

Phantumps change abilities with the seasons. In winter, they lose their leaves and gain "frisk" to help them find food. In spring, they grow flowers and gain "natural cure". In summer and fall, they grow leaves and berries, gaining the "harvest" ability.

Most phantumps have white flower petals in the spring. However, there is an old story about cherry blossoms, about how the petals turn pink after absorbing blood...
