Olympique Lyonnais - Stade de Reims OLPlay Postgame Interviews
@Timothee @Coralie feel like pure shit, just want you back
Blah blah standard disclaimers apply; @OL Comms Dept it's cold and rainy outside pls pay for my Earl Grey with soy milk; if stadiums were to ban stans then that would curb invasive behavior reaaaal quick; y'all know the speech by now.
Imagine having an actual job and not being chronically online, parked on someone's social media page and frothing at the mouth while tracking their every move. Imagine actually going outside. Imagine talking to real people. Wouldn't be some of you.
I really, really hate this "journalist" and honestly if Gilles and Cascarino weren't interviewed in this I would probably skip it.
SARA DABRITZ POSTGAME INTERVIEW
Journalist: Yes, hi Sara. [You are] one of the goal scorers today. We left on Wednesday a bit frustrated and annoyed at the 2-2 draw. That's behind us, it's done, there's a win in the league.
Dabritz: Yes, we're very happy today. We wanted to show a different performance compared to how we did in the Champions League. That's why I think we played a good game. We won, we're happy about the win.
Journalist: A quick word about Eugenie Le Sommer who just scored her 300th goal. How would you describe that player?
Dabritz: Yes, for me she's an incredible player. She has a lot of experience and she plays really, really well. She's still scoring goals. She's a really important player for us.
Journalist: Thank you, Sara. Congratulations on the win.
VANESSA GILLES POSTGAME INTERVIEW [Ft DENIS GILLES]
[The journalist is the definition of unprofessional in this interview. I genuinely loathe it when she does the postgame interviews]
Journalist: We're going to do it like this, it'll be nice. The Gilles family. Not quite in full, but it's really nice to have the both of you. How do you feel as a father about your daughter's performances with Olympique Lyonnais and on the Canadian National Team?
Denis Gilles: How do you want me to answer?
Vanessa Gilles: Briefly.
Denis Gilles: Briefly. What does that mean?
Vanessa Gilles: Short [answer].
Denis Gilles: No no, we're really happy for her. As long as she is happy, we're happy.
Vanessa Gilles: Oh my god.
Journalist: You wanted a short answer, you got a short answer. And what support did your dad, or your parents, give you for you to get to where you are?
Vanessa Gilles: Umm. [laughs] Well, that's a good question. They forced me to play tennis and because I hate tennis thanks to them, I switched to football much to their disappointment. Their devastation, you could say.
Denis Gilles: No, no.
Vanessa Gilles: They're a bit in denial. But yeah, anyway. But ever since I became pro, even at university, they've been my biggest fans, my biggest supporters, so yeah. It's good for me. Even when I plaey really badly they tell me I was the best [player] on the field, so that's good for my confidence as well.
Journalist: Do you follow her every game, Mr. Gilles? How does it work? Is there a debrief?
Vanessa Gilles: [laughs]
Denis Gilles: First of all, you must know that we listen to the live audio on OLPlay. Every once in a while in Canada we're forced to watch it on a screen and use the live audio of Timothee [Piron] and Coralie [Ducher]. So you really have to follow along, because either the audio isn't synced to the video, or there is a lag of some sort. So you really have to pay attention. But we always follow her games. And now it's pretty nice because with CanalPlus, we pretty much have every game. Otherwise there's also DAZN, you can watch there, and OLPlay. But I always watch OLPlay with Timothee and Coralie.
Journalist: We have a loyal viewer.
Vanessa Gilles: My father adores Timothee. He adores him. Every time I see Timothee I tell him my father is such a big fan, and he [Timothee] is always like "oh that's so nice, that's why I do this job."
Journalist: That's sweet. Vanessa, a quick word on Eugenie Le Sommer. We're celebrating her 300th goal today. What does she represent to you as a player? What does Eugenie Le Sommer stand for in your eyes?
Vanessa Gilles: Before anything else she is a friend. But she's a competitor, she's a legend. She's Eugenie Le Sommer. When I came to the club her nickname was "You-gency" because she's always the first to help out, to do everything to make you feel at ease. So to know her as a person, and to know the legacy that she has, the goals she's scored, all the trophies she's won, it's - it's nice to know that someone who deserves success and goodness has it, because honestly she's the best on and off the field. 300 goals, that's deserved, and I hope she reaches 400 and that she will stay [at Lyon] forever because playing with her and having her in the locker room, it's incredible.
Journalist: Thank you, Vanessa. Thank you, Mr -
Denis Gilles: Can I say something? [Vanessa Gilles looks embarassed] Me too, I'm really happy for Eugenie. I'm glad we were there for her 300th goal.
Journalist: She told me she did it deliberately. She told me she didn't want to score them against Prague, she was waiting for Mr. Gilles to be there.
DELPHINE CASCARINO POSTGAME INTERVIEW [FT EUGENIE LE SOMMER]
Journalist: Yes, Delphine, we're really happy to always see you at the moment, because it means you're on the pitch and it's going better. Was it important to put on a different performance than what we saw on Wednesday, even if the 2-2 wasn't catastrophic, but it was about just setting the record straight in terms of how Lyon plays.
Cascarino: Yes, it's true that it was really important for us to do better because a draw is like a defeat for us. So yeah. We scored pretty quickly in the first half, we quickly made things easier for us. On the whole it was a pretty good game.
Journalist: A quick word on Eugenie Le Sommer. Are the 300 goals something you're after since you're a forward? We know you like to score. Is she a role model?
Cascarino: Of course, Eugenie is a role model. She was a role model before I turned professional. I was lucky to be a ball girl for the pro team and I would always see Eugenie. She's always been an example for me. I'm really, really proud of her and I really hope that all the young girls will remember Eugenie, because she's really a part of the club's history. Whether it's with Lyon or the French National Team, she's really an exceptional player and I'm happy to be her teammate. [to Le Sommer off-camera] Go on then, come over, Euge[nie].
Journalist: That's good that I have both of you because there's Eugenie - I'm interviewing all the players [no shit] and they all say that she's a role model, even more so for the forwards. Do you realize - if we had told you a long time ago that you would score 300 goals, would you believe it?
Le Sommer: No. No, it's like I've been saying, I didn't think I would score so many when I came to Lyon. So it's a source of pride when it comes to that. Beyond that, being a role model, I try to set an example and to be the best possible, to perform as best as I can, and to show the younger players - it's true that when Delphine turned pro, we tried to show her the path. It's important to show that to the upcoming players and I think that's one of Lyon's strengths. Delphine will continue it after me.
[Cascarino remembers she hates being in the public eye and shuffles off screen]
Journalist: Have you fixed yourself other objectives? Obviously once you've scored 300 goals, you have to aim for more.
Le Sommer: No, my objective is to win. It's to win as many games as possible, as many titles as possible. Beyond that, on a personal level, obviously I'm a forward and want to make a difference and score as many goals as possible, make others score as well. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. For me the most important thing is to play consecutive games and play well, that's what matters, and to help the team, help my teammates. For now that's what matters.
Journalist: In any case, congratulations Eugenie, because beyond being a really good player, a good goalscorer, you're also a really good person. So congratulations for that. Thank you.
Le Sommer: Thank you.
SONIA BOMPASTOR POSTGAME INTERVIEW
Journalist: Yes, Sonia. There are a lot of smiles. There were a lot of scowling when we left off on Wednesday. It wasn't anything serious, it was more frustration. Other than the goal conceded in the first half, it was almost a perfect game.
Bompastor: Yes, in any case I liked the team's reaction today. We put an emphasis on the mentality, on the attitudes. That was necessary. But we were able both within the context and also with the result to respond. Even if as you said there was frustration over what happened against Slavia Prague, it was important to start off again with a good dynamic and approach the next games with a maximum amount of confidence.
Journalist: Yes, it was important because the next game is against PSG. We saw that PSG stalled a little bit with the Champions League. being able to rotate, it's not a luxury but it's - it allows you to keep some freshness.
Bompastor: Yeah, of course. Today both in the context of the match, the result, but also in the rotation, the players executed the plan perfectly. So with the game coming up that's good news. Now we know it's going to be a big game against Paris [Saint-Germain], even if there was that draw they will want to put on a better performance here at Lyon. So there will definitely be a PSG team out for revenge.
Journalist: Sonia, a quick word on Eugenie Le Sommer. What a player. Each time I interview a player, they say she's both a good player, a true goal scorer, but they also talk about her as a person.
Bompastor: Yeah, as a human being, it's true that in terms of mentality she's an exemplary. Eugenie, it's love of a club, she has the Lyon DNA. She performs consistently over the longterm, so really congratulations, hats off to her for 300 goals. I don't think we fully grasp it. I don't even think I hit double digits in my career. But she has all the qualities of a goal scorer. She's exemplary on the pitch for the younger generations, as you said, but also off the pitch as well, because as I said, in terms of mentality she's such a hard worker, she never gives up, so that makes her a great role model.
Journalist: Thank you, Sonia.

Deine Mama

( vanessa morgan, cis woman, she/her ) — 🎬 just announced, america “amy” roberts is casted as jenna sommers in upcoming the vampire diaries reboot. the thirty one year old is trending as people are debating if the preppy clothes, polaroid pictures scattered on the floor, a weeping angel, falling asleep in the dressing room, fading away into a blank canvas that they are known for is enough to make them as good as original. a quick google search shows that their fans call them sentimental, but internet trolls think they’re more critical. i guess their newest interview for variety where they talk about how she gave up pre-law to become an actress will let people to know them better.
BASICS:
Name: America Renee Roberts Age: 31 Birthday: May 15th (Taurus) Sexuality: Heterosexual Marital Status: Widowed Positive Traits: sentimental, tidy, energetic, intelligent, logical Negative Traits: critical, anxious, indecisive, awkward Hobbies: Painting with watercolor, watching movies, taking Polaroid photos, decorating
THE STORY (tw; death by car accident):
The fable of the fallen angel began in 2011. America Roberts was a determined, tenacious, and cutthroat student. She went to a very prestigious high school that was known for getting kids into Ivy League universities, and her parents wanted no less for her. They pushed her hard, often comparing her to the students who bullied her as a tactic to get her to work harder. It all came crumbling down, piece by piece, when she fell in love with movies. Amy loved movies. She would watch all the director commentaries, the deleted scenes, the “making of” documentaries. She wanted to be part of that magic. She snuck in a few acting classes at USC, but when her parents found out, they disowned her, which forced her to drop out of school. Luckily, a friend in her class took her in as her own sister. Amy was cast as Spencer Hastings in "Pretty Little Liars" at 20 years old, and since then, it's was almost as though life was getting easier and easier. She filmed "Les Miserables" between season, which got big Oscar recognition, and gave a promising career and very strong start. She even met her husband in the industry, too. Vincent was as a script writer, one of the best in the business. He was strong and passionate and thoughtful. He didn’t know how to laugh, but his stoic expression is what made her giggle. By 2017, they were married at age 25. Life could not get any sweeter... and it wouldn't. He wanted so badly to be with Amy that he left early to finish his script at home, where his muse was. He rushed home and a pick up truck driver made an arrogant choice that cost Vincent his life. The tabloids only read that “Husband of Pretty Little Liars Star Tragically Killed” and it angered Amy, seeing how he was reduced to a single headline and nothing more. For two years, America Roberts hasn’t been seen by the limelight. She dropped out of all of her projects, lived off of Vincent’s family’s inheritance, and stayed home most of the time. She grieved. She got a part time job doing something mundane and useless from home. Her absence was noted as one of the most tragic falls from fame. It took a lot of convincing, but they promised to start small, something that would only last a couple seasons. Aunt Jenna from The Vampire Diaries reboot was practically written for her as a way to reintroduce the great Amy Roberts back into the light. Maybe her star could learn to shine again. Maybe she could fall in love all over again with the art of storytelling. Or maybe it would bring back all of those happy, yet painful, memories.
TLDR; Amy was supposed to be a pre-law student, but when her parents found out she wanted to act, they disowned her and she was forced to drop out. She got taken in by her friend's family, who got her the audition for Pretty Little Liars and kicked off her career. She even married a script writer at 25, but he tragically passed away 2 years ago. She pretty much pulled a Taylor Swift and disappeared for those years. Now she's back to play Jenna Sommers in The Vampire Diaries.
CHARACTER COMPARISONS: Amy Santiago (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Isabela Madrigal (Encanto), Jane Porter (Tarzan), Elsa (Frozen), Wanda (The Fairly OddParents), Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Kate Sharma (Bridgerton)
WC's:
I'm Coming Out by Diana Ross: I'm mostly imagining any friends she had in the industry before Vincent passed away. They're not that close to her, so they sent her some sweet text messages every now and then, but now that she's back, Amy's really looking forward to reuniting with these people. Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell. Her best friends, the ones who took her in when her parents disowned her, the ones who were right there beside her during her grief. She's lost A LOT and they've always been right there through the absolute worst of it to keep pulling her out of it. Ain't No Sunshine by Bill Withers. Maybe someone who had a thing for her before she got married? Would have been sometime around 2015. Or maybe an ex from back then? Lil Boo Thang by Paul Russell. This is just an idea, we can kinda build based on chemistry and what happens. But I'm thinking now that she's kinda ready to move on (one step at a time, of course), I would love for someone goofy and funny to kinda surprise her out of nowhere. The one thing about Vincent was that he didn't really have a sense of humor, so giving her something new to look forward to would be sweet.
I'm hoping to go more off of chemistry, so these are just ideas we can kind of build off of. Don't feel like you have to stick to any of these, but if you get inspo, I would love to hear what you're thinking!!

Rating: R
One of the most original time-travel thrillers since 12 Monkeys. A brilliant subversion of the Time Paradox trope, with enough plot twists to keep you entertained until well after the movie is finished. Predestination is an amazing movie with great performances from Ethan Hawke and Sarah Snook. It’s a movie that will feel like Inception, when it comes to messing with your mind and barely anyone has heard of it. It is highly underrated and unknown, sadly.
4. Train to Busan (2016)

A zombie virus breaks out and catches up with a father as he is taking his daughter from Seoul to Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city. Watch them trying to survive to reach their destination, a purported safe zone.
The acting is spot-on; the set pieces are particularly well choreographed. You’ll care about the characters. You’ll feel for the father as he struggles to keep his humanity in the bleakest of scenarios.
It’s a refreshingly thrilling disaster movie, a perfect specimen of the genre.
3. Serenity (2005)

Serenity is a futuristic sci-fi film that serves as a feature-length continuation of the story-line from the TV program Firefly (2002–2003). The story revolves around the captain (Nathan Fillion) and crew of the titular space vessel that operate as space outlaws, running cargo and smuggling missions throughout the galaxy. They take on a mysterious young psychic girl and her brother, the girl carrying secrets detrimental to the intergalactic government, and soon find themselves being hunted by a nefarious assassin (Chiwetel Ejiofor). The first feature-length film from Joss Whedon (The Avengers), Serenity is a lively and enjoyable adventure, replete with large-scale action sequences, strong characterizations and just the right touch of wry humor. An enjoyable viewing experience that stands alone without demanding that you have familiarity with the original program beforehand.
2. Sorry to Bother You (2018)
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Science Fiction
Actor: Armie Hammer, Danny Glover, David Cross, Ed Moy, Forest Whitaker, James D. Weston II, Jermaine Fowler, John Ozuna, Kate Berlant, Lakeith Stanfield, Lily James, Marcella Bragio, Michael X. Sommers, Molly Brady, Omari Hardwick, Patton Oswalt, Robert Longstreet, Rosario Dawson, Steven Yeun, Teresa Navarro, Terry Crews, Tessa Thompson, Tom Woodruff Jr., Tony Toste, W. Kamau Bell
Director: Boots Riley
In the year of the Netflix TV Show Maniac, another absurdist title stole critics’ hearts. Sorry to Bother You is a movie set in an alternate reality, where capitalism and greed are accentuated. Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta) is a guy called Cassius who struggles to pay his bills. However, when at a tele-marketing job an old-timer tells him to use a “white voice”, he starts moving up the ranks of his bizarre society. A really smart movie that will be mostly enjoyed by those who watch it for its entertaining value, and not so much for its commentary. It is like a Black Mirror episode stretched into a movie.

Ex Machina is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, the writer of 28 Days Later (and 28 Weeks Later). It tells the story of Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson from About Time), an IT developer who is invited by a billionaire CEO to participate in a groundbreaking experiment — administering a Turing test to a humanoid robot called Ava (Alicia Vikander). Meeting the robot with feelings of superiority at first, questions of trust and ethics soon collide with the protagonist’s personal views. While this dazzling film does not rely on them, the visual effects and the overall look-feel of Ex Machina are absolutely stunning and were rightly picked for an Academy Award. They make Ex Machina feel just as casually futuristic as the equally stylish Her and, like Joaquin Phoenix, Gleeson aka Caleb must confront the feelings he develops towards a machine, despite his full awareness that ‘she’ is just that. This is possibly as close to Kubrick as anyone got in the 21st century. Ex Machina is clever, thrilling, and packed with engaging ideas.
