I'm catching up with E64 and honestly I'm surprised that the finale is coming NOW. Like... it doesn't feel like endgame? And ValorPUNK feels like it's heading into an endgame all the time. So it's really weird that it doesn't feel like that for once, but it really is the endgame.

I kinda think maybe the series should've ended with Triton's defeat since that was the big bad from day one. I know that gods are a bigger-scale threat, but like, we haven't had as much time to care about them.

It IS very comic-book, so like, I guess it follows the MASKS rulebook lol

The Vampire Gavruss AU I co-wrote in DMs with Dee is still one of my favorite things I've ever helped write, and someday I'd like to actually write it out properly

ValorPUNK/Valor Academy crossover fic where the VP kids get sent back in time to an early-ish point in VA, and then change the future by being there. They eventually have to get Roland to help undo everything. (This was mostly an excuse to have Ethan and Gavin interact)

Oneshot exploring the line "I think I'm tired of the word family" because holy shit

Finishing that VP/RSR crossover (I already know the whole second half, I just haven't written it bc not a lot of interest was shown and it kinda killed my motivation)

More Isabella-Gavin rivalry fics (I wrote one but I've tossed around ideas for multiple in DMs with people)

Gavruss smut with heavily projected themes of repression (I will never write this, I am not experienced in writing smut, it just lives in my brain rent-free)

A fic from before DKJR was defeated where he captures Michelle and Tommy and forces the kids to play prisoner's dilemma about it (angsty action-adventure romp about the kids saving their parents)

Whole angst oneshot solely about Gavin's grief and extreme amount of mixed emotions right after Michelle dies while he's lying in Vika's box-bed at the base (I talked with Mo about this a lot and it was great)

ValorPUNKs and sleeping habits

Vika needs a fully enclosed space; hence, the boxbed. Darkness and four solid walls that ensure nothing can get in. Preferably soundproofed so the night-terror screams don't get out.

Isabella is far too comfortable falling asleep at a desk, though she's been better about it lately. Sleeps on her side and likes to have some light nearby. Used to have a little lava lamp by her bedside. Now it's just computer glow against the cold warehouse walls.

Russel always had top-shelf beds growing up. He'll sleep on the couch or in the bathtub immediately if there aren't enough places for people to sleep. Will it hurt like hell in the morning? Of course. But he'll live. Sleeps on his back or side, depending on what's currently broken.

Benji likes it to be completely dark. He'd feel most at home on a waterbed, though he hasn't ever had his own. He likes Tommy's habit of keeping a bed-sword nearby, though he doesn't need it. On the hottest of nights, he'll melt a little in his sleep.

Okay now that I've spread my propaganda, I can properly answer this ask. I'd normally give a few "pre-get-together" scenarios but I literally have everything I could ever want for that from canon valorPUNK, so instead you get

GAVRUSS DATING HEADCANONS 🎉

Gavin is a good and polite teacher's pet until Russel's god-awful family (get it?) comes around. Then he goes small dog mode and starts barking at Zeus for being a terrible father, for putting his own SON in danger, how dare he— and FREYA, agreeing to give Russel to human parents to avoid a god-war that was her fault in the beginning, but then hanging around him all the time like a creep anyway? He's not your son anymore! Leave him alone! And Apollo and Athena, if you threaten Russel I will FIGHT YOU HERE AND NOW, I DON'T CARE THAT YOU'RE GODS—

Russel constantly forgets to charge his phone because of the nonstop chaos of his life. The first time he asked Gavin for a charger he had to build one from his bag; after the second time, Gavin just started carrying around extra chargers and portable battery packs.

Russel is the most awkward boy forever and nothing will ever change that. He'll spend 15 minutes fumbling to ask Gavin if he wants to go out to eat. "Russel are you asking me out?" "Um. Yes. If you have time though I don't want to pressure you if you're busy—" "Russel we're literally already dating." "BUT I DON'T WANNA PRESSURE IF YOU'RE BUSY ;~;"

(This is NOT due to any sort of special being flustered around his bf. Russel is literally just always like this and I think it's important nothing ever changes that.)

One reason he's so polite and meek is because Russel's seen Zeus and how Zeus's actions affect people, and he does NOT want to become that. Gavin loves how polite Russel is but is also lowkey frustrated because it forces him to admit when he wants affection and ASK for it which is VERY EMBARRASSING, will his stupid bf take the hint and PIN HIM TO THE WALL ALREADY—

Gavin is the kind of person to show affection by memorizing every detail about a person and remembering everything they like and dislike. Russel is the kind of person who's not good at showing affection until the chips are down and suddenly he's throwing his life on the line to save the people he cares about.

Gavin knows NOTHING about sports but loves hearing Russel talk about something that he likes for once in his life, so he'll purposefully ask questions about what sports program Russel is watching, when did he get that jersey, why did that guy get penalized, etc. to try and spur him into an infodump. Nerd x Jock in the healthiest way possible.

Gavin suffers nightmares pretty frequently. Russel is used to being woken up in the middle of the night by screaming (thanks to being roommates with Vika) and calms him down and offers Gavin to sleep with him. Congratulations, Gavin Grey, you have trauma! Your prize is a multi-pantheon god as a teddy bear.

ISABELLA & GAVIN

Listen. I do LOVE how Will was like “I don’t want to push Isabella to interact with Gavin too much because it could interfere with the Gavin/Russel dynamic” (thanks for being on Team Boltcutter, Will 😂) but I do wish we got to see just a LITTLE more of Gavin-Isabella antagonistic rivalry before the latest episode.

Because MAN, was the tiny bit of their interaction last ep *so* satisfying. Isabella completely dropping any gripes she had about Gavin, letting him into the base and showing him all her tech including TANC, being the one to tell Vika to stop lying to him— just being wholly, 100% supportive and empathetic of his situation. I love it. It’s delicious. You realize it’s dumb to fight over a lot of stuff when death comes in the picture.

I’m still rooting for her to accidentally steal/have a dream about one of his memories of life with Michelle. PLEASE Austin. Let us see it. I will cry.
