How to Solve VVDI MLB Tool Collection Failures Problem?

Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool can collect and calculate original vehicle key and VVDI MLB key. It needs 200 points to collect the original vehicle key. When you collecting the original vehicle key, but you have a VVDI MLB key, you can waive the current collection points. Each MLB key can only waive points once. (Collecting a VVDI key does not require points). Sometimes, you may meet the collection failures such as “Key data calculation failed”, check the solution below.

Common Issues with Collection Failures

1).VCC1 and VCC2 are reversed:

1.VVDI MLB ToolLanguage and Binding

Language: For regions outside of China, you should use a global version(GL). If you purchased a CH version by mistake, please contact the dealer for assistance.

Binding: The MLB Tool needs to be bound to an Xhorse account before it can be used normally. There is a binding button on the Key Tool Plus On the PC version, there is a binding menu under "Special Function".

MLB-Tool Usage Count and Syncing

MLB-TOOL does not limit usage counts. When the usage count decreases on the software interface, you can restore the count by clicking "Sync Authorization".

MLB Tool Supported Vehicle Models

VVDI MLB-TOOL supports adding new keys for Audi, Porsche, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Lamborghini, Bentley, and other MLB model keys. (Doesn't support AKL)

Xhorse MLB-Tool Matching Devices

Xhorse MLB TOOL can work with KEY TOOL PLUS PAD or VVDI2.

For vehicles from 2023 onwards, due to SFD restrictions from manufacturers, SFD must be remotely unlocked before the matching device can be used.

VVDI MLB-Tool Supported Keys

Only supports original keys and VVDI MLB keys. Other aftermarket keys are not guaranteed.

1.Compatible Keys

OEM/ VVDI MLB Key

*Requirements for OEM keys:

1)Unlocked, uninitialized, with id: generate dealer key and learn key

2)Unlocked, uninitialized, no id: change id once

3)Unlocked, initialized: restore key to unlocked and uninitialized state by calculating immo data

4)Locked, initialized, no id: no way to unlock

(Identify key status by VVDI2/ Key Tool Plus)

2.Token or Point Needed

1.Read data from OEM key (No VVDI MLB Key): 200 points

2.Read data from OEM key (with VVDI MLB Key): No points

*Identify new VVDI key first, and then read OEM key

VVDI MLB Tool Used with VVDI2 to Add Audi A4L Key

In the previous post, we introduced how to add Audi A4L keys by Xhorse VVDI MLB Tool and Key Tool Plus Pad. Today we will use Xhorse VVDI2 Programmer to work with MLB-Tool to perform the same function (200 remote points are required for key data calculation)

Step 1: Connect device and key

Connect VVDI MLB Tool and computer via USB cable

Place the original key in the device identification area for identification

Open the original car key, and connect the key PCB and MLB-Tool via the welding harness as default

Step 2: Collect key data

Run VVDI MLB Tool software

Click “Collect Key Data”

Select “No OEM key”

This calculation will deduct 200 remote points.

It will take about 3-4 minutes. The server takes approximately 10 seconds to calculate.

Save the calculation results after the calculation is complete.

Step 3: Make dealer key

Step 4: Learn key

Turn on the ignition switch

Connect VVDI2 key programmer and the vehicle via OBD cable, and connect VVDI2 to computer via USB cable

Place the remote in the induction area

Run VVDI2 software and select Audi software

Select Key Learn>> MLB Immobilizer system>> Read vehicle information

The key count is 2.

Click “Key Learning”

Load the calculation data saved in step2

Learn two keys one by one

All keys learned successfully.

Steps:

1.Read Key File

Connect MLB Tool to Key Tool Plus.

Remove original key shell.

Put key pcb on MLB Tool.

On key tool plus

Select

Immo programming>>Audi>>Select by type>>MLB immobilizer systems

Make sure stable network connection.

Select "1-Identification Key".

Read key ID.

Select "2-Connection diagram" to check out pinout.

Connect key pcb to MLB Tool connector by soldering (*TOP side upwards).

Select "3-Collect key data".

Each genuine key will cost 200 points, while VVDI Key no points.

Calculate key data.

Select "4-Make Dealer Key".

Load key data file.

2.Key Learn

Turn on ignition.

Put key close to sensing area.

Select "5-Learn Key".

Turn off AC and open engine compartment cover.

Enter key numbers to be learned.

Load immo data.

Complete!
