EuroTrip | Part 39 | A Croatian Challenge
#FM24 #EuroTrip Part 39: A Croatian Challenge. Trebor Mahtal is back on the move again as he moves to his 18th country with Croatian side @NKRijeka. 2 record sales see the new manager put his faith in youth and a standout striker. Read here:
Hapoel Be’er Sheva set a new Israeli Premier League record points tally without winning a title in the 2057/58 campaign. But, despite apparently being delighted with Trebor Mahtal’s efforts, the board failed to back him financially. So Mahtal wasted no time in resigning at the start of the summer. He made that decision after spotting a couple of potentially interesting opportunities, which took…

Reyes Vidal Appreciation Week Day 6 White Lies or Hard Truth (kind of both?)
// SO CLOSE. Wanted to explore this history a little... wish we had gotten more of Zia in game.
This was bad. Shit had gone south, the job was bad, and now there was a very real risk of dying looming over their heads. Reyes had a gut feeling they’d been setup. Up until this point everything had been smooth, but then Julian had hit the tripwire with the claymores, Vanessa took a flash grenade to the face, and the rest of them were trying to pick up the pieces. Who even uses claymore mines anymore?!
“Vostin, have you got that door yet?!” Reyes scolded, dragging the momentarily blinded Vanessa to cover, gunfire ringing overhead. Zia and Robert were the only cover they had.
“Just give me a se- got it! Got it!” The door hissed open, but they were running out of time. Two guns down, three if he counted himself carrying Vanessa, and four whenever Vostin had the cargo in hand. That meant only two guns keeping an armada of old war tech off their backs. Whatever they were grabbing, it better be worth the payout.
Their covering fire came rushing around the bend, lobbing a grenade behind them to slow down the pursuit. “Hurry it up!”
The door shut behind them, quieting the sounds from the last room, plunging them all into darkness. Robert lit up the flashlight on his pistol, but it wasn’t good. “What the hell is this?!”
“Are you sure we went the right way?”
“Yes I’m sure!”
“Reyes, what’s going on?” Vanessa’s hands were tight on his wrist, the skin around her eyes burned from the flash grenade and still unable to see, her body shaking as she tried to fend off the fear. And maybe the shock.
The only truthful answer that was available wasn’t good. They were in a dead end room, nowhere else to go. Zia and Vostin were shouting at each other, Robert was sitting quietly in the corner with his rifle on his shoulder, and they were trapped. “Nothing you need to worry about, Cass.”
“I told you not to call me that… not here. Cassiopeia isn’t even in the stars here.”
“Doesn’t mean I’m not going to call you that.” The name did its trick, bringing a pained smile to her face. Vanessa was the sister he left behind, he wasn’t going to let her down here like he did his own back home. Not home anymore. Andromeda, Kadara, was home now.
The rounds being fired off from the other side of the door stopped and fell silent, a change noticeably lost on his companions until he hushed them silent. “You locked out that door right, Vostin?”
“Yes, yes, of course I did. I’m the only one with a key.”
They all jolted when something rammed into the door. “I think their key is bigger,” Zia snapped at him. “Give the map, there’s got to be a way out of here.”
Dissent among the ranks. They’d all be courtmarshalled for this back home. Here it’d be worse - they’d be dead. “The vents,” Reyes reminded them before either of them spent long going over the holomap they’d been given by their contractor. “We don’t go forward, we go up.” That was his best assumption anyway. Either that, or the whole job had been rigged from the start.
Vostin climbed onto Robert’s shoulders, using his nimble fingers and omnitool to unscrew all of the latches holding the vent in place. It was narrow, too tight to comfortably fit more than one and a half side by side, but two could squeeze if they had to.
Another deafening bang echoed against the door, popping inward on its joints, as they started lining up to climb. Zia was their most nimble, the best able to climb up after, so she assisted each of them in climbing through the vents. “Hurry up, hurry up!”
The salarian and the sniper each took one of Vanessa’s arms, hoisting her up into the dark and out of sight. Reyes was quick to follow, and with him the cargo. Their time ran down to zero when the door was finally thrown off its hinges and shrapnel flew throughout the room. Zia was trapped down in the room, separated from Reyes and the others. There wasn’t time. The look of utter betrayal and anger on her face was clear through the smoke as he shook his head. The job always came first.
Ahead of him, the others were slowly making progress, enough that he was able to catchup with the cargo in hand. “Reyes?” he heard Vanessa’s voice echo through the air ducts.
“Right behind you, Cass.”
“Where’s Zia?”
“There wasn’t time.”
The four of them remaining were quiet as it sank in, the gunfire behind them muffled from distance. Vostin and Robert both exchanged glances.
“But wasn’t she…? You need to go back and get her. She’s your girlfriend!”
“Girlfriend is such a strong word. Come on. We need to move, or even Zia won’t be able to buy us enough time to get out of here in one piece.” Reyes wasn’t going to listen to any prattling about if Zia had been his girlfriend or not. A few drinks and a few nights didn’t mean anything. It was his fault for mixing business and pleasure, he supposed.
Following through the dusty ducts, using the holomap as their guide, they avoided any major hurdles. The gunfire and explosions in the distance never really stopped even as it faded. There was a chance she could make it out of this afterall.
Daylight finally offered them reprieve, filtering through slats in a far vent, illuminating enough Elaaden dust to make him want to sneeze. Robert kicked through the sheet metal, dropping down below. One, two, three… and he hit ground. A decent drop.
“You ready for this, Vanessa?” Vosin’s voice shook as he peered out over the edge.
“Just get me out of here.”
She went, then the Salarain, then Reyes with the cargo. The heat and sun was almost blinding, the irony of it not lost on Reyes as he traded with his salarian compatriot for Vanessa. Now they just had to get the hell out of dodge before any other exiles realized they’d left the buildling.
“Think Zia made it out of there?” Right on time with Vostin’s words, a side wall blew open and a body came rolling out. Flames licked at the sky from inside the building, smoke curling upwards, alarms blaring as the building was being destroyed from the inside out. Zia rose from the sand, dusting off scorch marks and the ever present dust.
“So glad you could make it!” Reyes greeted her with an open arm, but was met with a hard fist to the cheek. At least she had the sense to hold onto the blinded Vanessa while his face met thee dirt.
“We’re through,” she spat into the dirt, marching off to yank the cargo from Vostin’s arms, not even once turning back.
Vanessa knelt in the dirt, leaning heavily on his shoulder once she found it, and did her best to help him stand. “Guess girlfriend was too strong of a word,” she teased.
“Told you.”
In the end? The cargo was empty. There was no payout.

Packaging for Vostinic—Klasnic Wines by Size Agency
“Analysis of the wine market showed that wine label design is moderately conservative. That's why we created something different, a design system composed of basic graphic elements - geometrical shapes and colours. Instead of designing just one label we constructed a design system for their whole product mix. Goal was to create labels that would be impactful both as a group and individually. Each label tells a story of the wine inside, about the geographical position, aromas, and other characteristics.”
At Size Agency big ideas can't go extinct. They foster them through branding, design and advertising. In the Digital Age being small is good. No multitasking, no mega production. Just fresh, original stuff.
