Formerly known as Subject 005, Chuuya is the result of secret unethical experiments by the Ostanian government to create super soldiers to fight in the war (or send to the Garden to become elite assassins).

As such, Chuuya is abnormally strong, fast, agile and resistent, the so-called 'perfect' soldier and killing machine...

...if not for the fact that he's been smuggled out of the lab he was being experimented on as a child by a repentant scientist, who raised him as his own son until his death when Chuuya was only 15, tortured and killed for his 'betrayal' and refusal to hand Chuuya back.

Furious with grief, Chuuya started hunting down and killing any and all Ostanian scientists partaking in unethical experiments for the sake of the war against Westalis, taking down as many government-funded facilities and saving as many subjects as he could.

After years of doing so, he was recently apprehended by the Westalis intelligence, and while he was resigned to spend the rest of his life in a cell, he was offered to use his abilities (both his strength and social skills he'd developed during his 'mission') to help end the senseless conflict between Westalis and Ostania as a member of WISE, with the promise of a new identity to start fresh once peace is achieved.

As a WISE agent, he's known as Eclipse (a subtle reference to his moniker during his killing days, 'Blood Moon').

While he recognizes Chuuya as his actual name (being the one his parent used to call him), he will use either 'Frederic' or 'Raoul' when posing as a civilian during missions.
