Lyney's Trick

A/N: Fic #3 for the 2-part fics! No tickling yet in this part, so the poll results will really have a lot of influence on how the fic will continue🤭

Summary: Lyney is at a birthday party with many of Aether's friends. Because Lynette and Freminet are a little awkward and stiff, he asks them to help him play a trick on someone. It will definitely guarantee some joy and laughter for his siblings, the person tricked, and everyone else.

It was a fun gathering. Sure it was. They were inside the marvelous Serenitea Pot Realm to celebrate the Traveler's birthday party, and it was rather impressive. Quite many people from all over Teyvat showed up to join the celebration.

The lively Gaming just came off the stage after giving a performance which was soon followed by Furina who was now in the middle of giving a fabulous show of her own. Lyney already had his turn and gave a magic show earlier as well.

"Enjoying yourselves?" he asked Lynette and Freminet. That was the only problem with this gathering. He noticed his siblings were a little shy to socialize with others.

From Fontaine almost all of Aether's friends were here, which was quite surprising. Even Neuvillette, and Wriothesley - but then again, even the Duke of the Fortress of Meropide wouldn't miss a chance to enter the Traveler's infamous Teapot realm and enjoy a cup of the finest tea.

From other nations there were people like the very loud Harbinger Childe, Venti the Bard from Mondstadt, Arataki Itto from Inazuma, Hu Tao from Liyue, just all those personalities combined made it quite lively, loud, chaotic and energetic, so he understood why Freminet and Lynette were a little overwhelmed by it all.

"Maybe we can join them?" Lyney suggested, pointing at the Sumeru table where a few people were playing cards, but Lynette shook her head.

"I'm fine. I drink tea," she said stiffly. Wriothesley, at the same quiet tea-table, nodded proudly.

"It's good tea," he said. Neuvillette merely nodded. Lyney shrugged. He would feel bad to leave them alone so awkwardly, even though he felt a little more tempted to engage with the others, to learn more about their nations, their friendship with Aether, maybe to show them more of his magic tricks and- oh.

A trick. Maybe he could get Freminet and Lynette to open up if they helped him with a trick! Not just a trick. The secret magic trick.

"Guys, do you remember my secret magic trick?" he asked Lynette and Freminet. Freminet shook his head.

"What secret trick?" Lynette asked.

"The one that makes people laugh. Even you, it made you laugh," Lyney said, and he winked. Lynette blushed.

"Oh. That one." She clearly remembered, and Freminet did too since he made a little squeak noise.

"You wouldn't," he said.

"You've got my attention. I am curious now, right Neuvillette?" Wriothesley said. Neuvillette nodded again.

Lyney hummed and gazed around the crowded space. "Well, the secret trick needs a person to try it on. It's a magical trick to make someone laugh, so..." he explained, while he considered the perfect victim. Not anyone from the Fontaine group, the chance was they had seen the trick, heard of it, or witnessed him playing it on people in Fontaine. It was quite popular and effective after all.

So...

His eyes fell on Gaming who was still gathering compliments after his show. He seemed like an easy target, a sweet bubbly and curious person who would definitely want to try it out.

Lyney then stared at Childe, the Eleventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Very tempting, but being a member of the Fatui as well, he would meet him a little more than others perhaps, and besides, Childe was clever. This scheme could backfire, but at the same time, if he would succeed... Lyney would feel more triumphant than ever.

"NOOOOOOOO!" Lyney almost fell over when a deafening yell could be heard from the Oni, Arataki Itto, who had just lost an Onikabuto battle against the Yashiro Commissioner, Kamisato Ayato. Itto looked like someone who would enjoy a trick like that, and he would most definitely fall for it.

While the Yashiro Commissioner and his sister looked quite elegant in a way that didn't really invite Lyney to trick them, at the same table sat a kind looking guy. Lyney knew he was called Thoma. He looked like he would accept and fall for it... perhaps?

The Mondstadt people were all too busy admiring Furina on stage, and the Sumeru group seemed very invested in their card game, however... Lyney noted the blond guy who seemed a little distracted.

"Kaveh? It's your turn," the fox guy said to him. Kaveh. Hm... Maybe him, but it was a question whether he would accept.

Lastly, Lyney glanced at Aether who was also staring at Furina's show at this moment. He had cute sparkles in his eyes. He was the perfect victim, but honestly, he was also the most dangerous. Lyney would definitely get his ass handed right back to him afterwards, but it could be worth it.

"Well? Who will it be?" Lynette asked, and Lyney smiled when he noticed she actually looked forward to this. Freminet seemed eager too.

With so many people together he was sure they would attract some attention soon, so he had only one chance to perform the prank- er, trick successfully.

So the funniest thing about "Venti" and "Zhongli" meeting was how Zhongli kept trying to praise and give recognition to Venti for his wit or his work, but Venti brushed it off and gave backhanded compliments. Venti continuously talks about how he clearly doesn't know Zhongli or anything about him, so his comments about the man are based in rumors alone.

But also, he's totally aware of all he is stirring up, and his poem clearly reflects that.

It stresses both Xiao and the Traveler out because neither God is saying quite what they really mean and all the subtext between their conversation is lost on them. Xiao comments that when the adepti would meet in the past, there was no question what anyone meant, but tonight he was struggling and it was disheartening to him.

I think Zhongli was trying to express that he didn't know how to talk to or face Barbatos, as he did by "ignoring the sound of the wind," and claiming that "it was difficult to tell where anyone was during Lantern Rite", but he kept calling Venti "new friend," and "esteemed bard", and most tellingly, amiable.

Friendly.

Venti does not acknowledge the title of being a new friend, and to further distance himself, calls Zhongli by "Mr. Zhongli," implying a formal distance!! All the while denying any knowledge or connection that they might have had before.

He then easily interacts with Hu Tao, and befriends her instantaneously!! He talks about meeting with Xiao and playing for him, talking with him on an extremely casual and easy way. Which is notable bc of Xiao's solitary. He even talks about being acquainted with Xingqiu, and how they grew close at a festival over shared love for literature.

And then, most obvious of all, Zhongli was going to listen to Hu Tao's desire to accompany Traveler, Xiao, and Venti home but Venti immediately refused Mr. ZHONGI and said he was going to meet a FRIEND. But if the Traveler wants to come find him, he's quite sure they know where he will be. And Venti leaves them.

Isn't that just a slap in the face? That was such a clear dismissal of Zhongli and it was brutal. Zhongli then says neither Traveler or Xiao needs his protection, and he will be walking alone before meeting with the director again.

I don't think this was the interaction anyone was really quite expecting with these two, and I also don't think this was Venti telling Zhongli that he wanted nothing to do with his friendship. I think Venti is a little shit who is rightfully upset with an old friend, and he wants Zhongli to acknowledge that by killing Morax, Barbatos has no ties to Zhongli.

Where they will be going forward? Who's to say?

I’ve been playing GENSHIN IMPACT for over a year now and reading a bit of fic here and there, mostly of the Tartali and Zhongli&Venti variety, but then Sumeru hit and oh hey Alhaitham is an amazing unit in a quickbloom team and then Kaveh hurricaned his way into my heart and oh no suddenly I was in love and absolutely tearing my way through every bit of Haikaveh I could get my hands on because christ there’s no way Hoyoverse isn’t writing them that way on purpose. Something that will never cease to rot my brain is just how brilliantly mhy have developed Xiao's character over the past three years. I'm lucky enough to have started playing Genshin before he was added to the game (which does of course mean newer players have probably had a different experience of him, I'll get into that later) so I've been there for every single moment that Xiao appeared and it's always so amazing to me just how much effort has been put into him. (Long rant and Mild Spoilers for the Poetry Gala Event below lol)

Xiao in the Archon quest and in 1.3 (both in his character quest and 1.3 Lantern Rite) compared to Xiao in the most recent event is truly like night and day, and what's most impressive about that is that how he acts in the poetry event feels completely true to his character. Xiao has earned this gentleness over the past three years, as the traveler but also the other people he's met have urged him to open up and interact with others more often.

This really couldn't have been achieved without mhy taking advantage of every scrap of screen time Xiao has gotten. They absolutely have favorites and Xiao is for sure one of them. I'll use Moonchase as a comparison to the Poetry Gala. Back then we saw Xiao on screen for maybe 5 minutes at most, appearing because the traveler called him, tasting Xiangling's dish and giving her a compliment (at least for his standards for giving compliments) and then disappearing. But now we see him at the poetry event being invited to join by Venti and Hu Tao (and him not outright refusing!!), and then staying to socialize with Chongyun's group when everyone (not just the traveler) asks him to.

3.4 Lantern Rite and the Poetry Gala have felt like the biggest steps due to the fact that we see Xiao actively participating in activities of his own volition. Most of his appearances before 3.4 (and even after, counting Baizhu's quest) are dictated by about 2.5 factors. The first is his duty: protecting Liyue from evil, more specifically keeping its people safe from these evils. The second is being called by the traveler, an act which I would consider a symbol of their friendship later on, but in the beginning and probably still in a lingering capacity now I think can be attributed to a sense of debt towards them. They helped save Liyue in a time of crisis, after having no obligation to do so, and someone like Xiao who takes his duties in protecting Liyue so seriously would absolutely feel like he owes a complete outsider like the traveler a debt after they kinda did his job for him. So much of Xiao's character is about debts, after all. That even ties into the 2.5th reason, where he would probably feel some obligation to appear at Lantern Rite because Zhongli would be there, though it's unclear if Hu Tao mentioned he would be so it might not even count in that case.

Now we see Xiao participating in events on the invitation of Hu Tao and Venti who are seeking him out because they see him as a friend. We see him taking not only the traveler's feelings into account when asked to participate, but also Chongyun and Diona's. It's such a far cry from his "I don't associate with mortals" attitude that we saw back in 2021.

That barely even touches the shift we've seen in his demeanor either. Back in 2021, Xiao always spoke very curtly and in as few words as possible, always seeming displeased any time he had to hold a conversation, but now he's loosened up so much that the difference is honestly staggering. It even shows through in his birthday letters from 2021 vs. 2023 (And even here we see him going out of his way to socialize of his own volition, so proud of him!):

I've gone back and forth between EN and CN voiceovers in the past year, so some of Xiao's appearances I've only experienced in CN, but hearing him in the Poetry Gala event in EN I can only give his voice actress a thousand kudos for how amazing her performance is. Xiao's voice has softened with time, and it's such a small detail, but I honestly think that it's what hammers his growth home more than anything else for me. He's not only willing to have full conversations with people he's less familiar with now, but he also doesn't feel the need to speak as harshly to them either, and that's really amazing to hear play out in the game.

Xiao's voicelines are so fascinating to me for that very reason, because they act as a time capsule for how he was back in 2021, and that's just not what he sounds like anymore. Obviously, voice actors' performances of their characters will shift with time but Xiao is the only character for which I can say that his demeanor really has just changed with time. Of course, I think that in some cases this does actually make sense, namely if a newer player pulls Xiao and has only gotten to experience the Archon Quest and maybe his Character Quest. In that case, all of the time that has passed simply doesn't exist. But at the same time I can only imagine how funny it would be for a long-time player who simply never pulled Xiao for one reason or another to pull him and listen to his lines and hear his older, edgier self lol

Though on that note I do also need to point out the biggest downside of all of this, and what is perhaps my greatest sadness about Xiao's character development, which is that new Genshin players simply won't have the chance to experience it. There are many characters who get the short end of the stick with the nature of Genshin's serialized storytelling and limited-time events (Albedo, Kazuha, and a plethora of 4 stars who don't get featured much, just to name a few), but I think Xiao's actually saddens me the most, because I believe the time that has passed is the greatest strength when it comes to this development. People will get to see his arc from the Archon Quest to Perilous Trail (and thank god they preserved Perilous Trail as an Interlude), but even that is still a shadow of Xiao's actual progression over the years.

These days, newer Genshin players may have only seen Xiao in the Liyue Archon Quest before playing the Poetry Gala event (unless Perilous Trail is a prereq, which I don't know off the top of my head), and I can't even imagine how jarring it would be to see how he acts there and then immediately see him in this event. The way that time works in this case would probably just make it seem like mhy doesn't know what they're doing with Xiao when in reality three years of development have been compressed into a matter of weeks. Knowing that, I'm grateful to have been able to experience his story in its truest form, but it also cannot go unacknowledged that some aspects of Genshin's story have a shorter shelf life than others. It's a major problem with the game, from some perspectives, but at the same time it's just a consequence of how it's being developed.

Anyway, I just needed to gush after seeing Xiao absolutely steal the show in part 2 of the quest with his quiet participation and little smile (crying). He's so good and I love him so much, and it's so nice to see what they've done with him after he finally got some semblance of closure after Perilous Trail <3

Pretty amazing duo. You both would get along really well, especially with the magic stuff!

Even though you don't know much about magic, Lyney would still try to show you small tricks!

Expect to be featured in future performances. (He doesn't realize people can't see you) He has to show the whole world that he has the best companions!

You both would also get into trouble a lot. Pranks, accidents, tricks, they're all really common. Flirting competitions are also a thing and Lynette has had enough of it.

He doesn't care if you're a ghost. After all, you're his best friend. (Soon to be lover)

Bennett ♡

Pretty interesting friendship, but also very cute.

Bennett keeps getting himself into trouble because of his luck, and you protect him.

I would say that Bennett made a wish of having an adventure team instead of getting rid of his bad luck. It confused you, but you told him that you would be the first member of his little team.

And just like that, a new friendship formed!

He apologizes a lot since you're the one always saving him. You know it's not his fault, so you always reassure him that everything's fine. After all, you haven't had this much fun in decades.

When he realizes that you're a ghost, he finds it pretty cool, but also upsetting. If you were a ghost, then that means you died, right..?

He won't ask for the details, but he still wonders every now and then.

Xiao ♡

He admires your strength.

Although he finds you to be mostly annoying, he still likes to watch you fight.

He previously couldn't touch you, but because he made some sort of 'bond' with you, he's able to make physical contact with you.

He would push you away at first, but eventually he won't mind your presence. He won't bother asking about your background and you wouldn't ask about his.

Even though one of you is way louder than the other, it's still a pretty silent friendship since you both secretly understand each other.

Venti ♡

Best friendship ever.

You both would never shut up.

Diluc has had enough of the both of you, but you both don't care. If you add Lyney to this small group, then you three would be unstoppable!

Even though you both like pulling pranks on Diluc and Paimon, you still both have small moments of peace.

For example, there are times when both of you just sit in silence, accompanied by each other's presence.

Sometimes it happens during night at Windrise when the both of you are thinking about past experiences. Even so, you both feel comforted that someone is there to understand.

He also doesn't care that you're a ghost. To be honest, he thinks you're more human than anything.

Scaramouche ♡

He can't stand you.

You helped him out once when a bunch of treasure hoarders were trying to rob him. Even though he could've handled it himself, he still enjoyed watching you fight them.

BUT, just because you helped him once does not mean you could follow him around!

He wouldn't listen to you as you talk about 'stupid topics'. Right now he wanted to be alone, but you weren't granting him that wish.

He tried attacking you, but that didn't really help since you're a ghost. How annoying.

Eventually, he gives up. He let's you follow him since he knew yelling at you wasn't going to solve anything.

Even though he would give you the silent treatment, slowly and eventually he would start coming around.

He would mumble a few words here and there, but in your eyes, it's still progress!

Aether ♡

You remind him a lot of Hu Tao.

He is not bothered by you since he deals with a lot of different people throughout the day, but someone doesn't appreciate your presence.

Paimon always tells you to stop following them, but Aether always defends you, saying that she follows him too.

He will hide you from Hu Tao, though, since he knows that she would probably try to 'put you away.'

He doesn't believe that you could make wishes come true, but he still tries it anyway.

"I want to find my sister."

You were caught off guard by the serious request since you weren't expecting him to say something like that.

When you find out he also has a twin, it reminds you of your own. Oh, how you wish you had a strong sibling bond like Aether and Lumine...

+Hu Tao ♡

Even though the both of you have similar personalities, Hu Tao gives you the Qiqi treatment.

She tries to help you cross over, which in her eyes is a generous thing to do, but you can't leave this world just yet! You still have so much to do.

You just hope that she will eventually understand that.

last day before audition announcements

“I can’t believe Venti fell asleep already,” Aether chuckles, nudging at Venti’s limp body laying on the floor.

“I’m on my own now,” you sigh, shaking your head in disappointment at your fallen teammate.

“Not for long,” Kazuha speaks up, “Childe and Scara are coming over.”

“This will be entertaining,” Hu tao snickers, looking at you.

“Kazuha, I’ll make you pay for that,” you huff, rolling the dice as he laughs.

The dorm to Heizou’s dorm opens and in walks the very person you’ve grown to strongly dislike. Though, much less now.

“Stop glaring at me,” Scara remarks, gracing you with an eye roll as he joins you on the floor beside you, the only other empty spot.

“Venti fell asleep so you guys can be a team or join Y/n,” Lumine says, holding up a player piece, “Who wants to be the race car?”

Childe snatches it and sends Scara an apologetic look, “Sorry, this is my moment.”

Scara gives you a side-eye as you both realize you’re both forced to team up. If only Venti hadn’t dozed off earlier…

Oddly, the game goes smoothly. An hour or two goes by with you two bickering over your next move but also using your desire to always be number one to demolish your friends. Despite being a theatre major Scara is surprisingly strategic with how he takes over more than half the board, much to Heizou’s dismay.

“Maybe your true calling is business,” you joke as you take over yet another property with him. You look over to see Scara not react to your comment, not noticing how Childe sends Scaramouche a knowing look.

“Ha, anyway it’s my turn—,” Childe starts, but is interrupted with Scara abruptly standing up.

“I’m gonna go,” he announces, placing his stack of money hastily in your palms before making his way to the door.

“I should go as well, I forgot the key to our dorm,” Childe chuckles, standing up, “Good game guys! We should do this again,” he smiles before quickly following behind Scara.

“Wonder what’s up with them,” you mumble, staring at the stack of bills in your hand. Was it something you said?

“Guess that means we have to start over!” Heizou excitedly cheers while everyone else groans simultaneously.

can i ask why you don't like xingyun? /gen not a shipper myself but i'm just curious since a lot of chongyun lovers love that ship, i've never seen anyone NOT like it

rant warning by the way, I accidentally got more and more annoyed writing this 😬

im gonna be honest the number one reason is because i see it everywhere

the first effect of this is that content depicting xingqiu and chongyun in a nonromantic manner get tagged as xing/yun, which is annoying to me. you can draw 2 characters together in a nonromantic manner and you don't have to tag the ship guys. it's real it's called being friends. the second effect is that there's never any content with chongyun and Other Characters. people are so hung up on him and xingqiu that chongyun almost never exists without xingqiu. like you might notice i have a tag for chongyun and hu tao (mostly platonic) stuff except that there are only 7-8 posts tagged with that, because although the "exorcist and girl who can see ghosts" dynamic would be so cool, nobody seems to think abt that bc almost everything with chongyun includes xingqiu. this also goes for chongyun and xiangling (who canonically makes him his cooling popsicles) and like random other characters whom he Could interact with and be friends with (ayaka and him is a crack friendship i talked about once, and ofc chongyun and xiao). i hate it. xingqiu got his mr worldwide arc with venti and albedo please depict chongyun alone with other friends (it literally doesn't even have to be romantic). of course, this might just be a separate problem that I'm conflating with the ship, but it annoys me. i'm not focusing on xingqiu's side because although fan content for like idk him and yun jin? him and hu tao? albedo? is also super rare, at least that stuff exists in canon.

the second reason is because xingqiu's prankster attitude towards chongyun annoys me

yeah i love my little shit son but idk, it's just annoying when people make him feed chongyun spicy food, play pranks on him that cost chongyun Something (losing face, wasted time, frustration) idk. i guess i don't like that his condition isn't taken seriously. i don't think it's bad to have friends who pull your leg but at least not in a malicious way? like iirc he's implied to have triggered chongyun's yang energy overflows at least a couple times, and it's like . why. why is it played for jokes the kid literally passes out. "(He) needs more practice. Especially… with eating spicy food, haha." bro please do not !! don't trigger his condition just for kicks! xingqiu's other pranks also annoy me, given that i hate being tricked, so some of this might be projection or smth idk, but like idk you can give him good suggestions for where to demon hunt instead of making up shit and then going after him to make up for any costs. it's just annoying i think chongyun gets annoyed but then later forgives him, as friends are, but i cannot imagine them getting together like this. unless it's toxic idk . if they're friends i can give a pass to the pranks and stuff but in a romantic relationship i don't think i could see this kind of dynamic being a good one

"I'm still surprised how the professors let you sleep in their classes" Albedo sweat dropped as he sat down with his lunch in hand.

"Or they simply don't care if Y/n will pass or not his exams" Lumine joked as she got her sandwich out of her back and started eating it.

"And that's why Aether is the better twin" said Y/n with a smug expression on his face.

"Say that again and you'll have to sleep with one eye open at night" the h/c haired boy laughed at his friend comment as he started eating his lunch too.

"Hey isn't that Aether?" Hu tao asked as she looked at the blond haired boy in the distance. "Where?!" Y/n asked in a rather loud voice as he looked around. "Hey, Aether!"

As Aether heard the familiar voice he looked towards the direction it came from. He saw the the h/c wave at him. "Hey that's Y/n, Lumine and their friends! Let's go sit next to them" the boy suggested to his friends. They all agreed as they went to sit on the table next to the other group.

"Why do i feel like you already see Aether as your best friend? Are you betraying us, Y/n?" Venti put his hand on his chest as he pretended he was crying.

"Of course I am not dumbass! If i ever leave it's because i was forced to!" Y/n said as he hugged Venti and rubbed his head.

"Is that why you left for Mondstadt without saying anything?" The h/c haired boy's breath hitched as he heard these words. Is that.....no it can't be. They looked at the person who said that and they froze "K-kuni?" the boy whispered, still having Venti in his hands.

Venti looked quite confused at Y/n's reaction. Why is he acting like that? Normally the boy loves making new friends, really energetic and loud.

"Is that the "pretty boy" you were talking about?" Hu Tao asked all of a sudden, with a small smirk on her face, making the e/c colored boy release Venti from his hands and look at the brunette girl with a small blush on his face "Shut it Hu Tao!"

"What? You were the one who called him that, not me. Besides why all of a sudden you're so flustered? Normally you flirt with everyone"

"As much as i love you, sometimes you really are getting on my nerves Tao...." Y/n said with an angry expression and small smile on their face.

"Soooo is that Y/n you were talking about, Scara?" The orange haired boy said in a teasing tone, as he nudged the boy next to him.

"Shut it Ajax." Scaramouche said in annoyed tone. He looked at the flustered boy on the next table. Everyone were minding their own business, talking about different stuff. The purple haired boy wanted to talk to Y/n. 'He's right there' 'Just go talk to him, idiot' he thought, but he couldn't bring himself to do it

"Go talk to them buddy! When they saw you they looked speechless. They probably didn't expect to see you? It's finally your chance to talk to them" Childe tried to encourage his best friend. He knew about Y/n and Scara's friendship and he knew the purple haired boy had little feelings for his childhood friend, but never wanted to admit it out loud.

"It's not worth it Ajax. Even if he remembers me, he doesn't look like he wants to talk with me" the boy sighed as he grabbed his sandwich and started eating it

"Then I'll do it for you!" Childe stood up and went to your table "Wait- Ajax!"

"Hey! Y/n, right? You're a really good looking person. I would love if you give me your phone number, hm?" Childe said with a smug expression on his face, leaning on the table, right in front of Venti's face. Trying to flirt, huh?

"Ohohoho, a flirt we have here, hmm? And who's exactly asking for my number?" The boy asked in a teasing tone.

"Haha, sorry i forgot to introduce myself. My name is Childe. And im a friend of the purple idiot there" Childe pointed towards Scaramouche "If im not mistaken you guys know each other? I want to make him talk to you, because he's a pussy to do it on his own"

Y/n laughed at the ginger's comment "And i thought i was the only one who was scared to do it"

"I'm actually surprised how you always love to make friends, but can't bring yourself to talk with someone you've known before" Venti said from behind Childe's arm

"I'm also surprised, shut it! Anyways yes you can get my phone number" Y/n wrote down his phone number on a small paper and gave it to the orange haired boy "Here you go!"

Childe smiled and waved as he went back to the table where his friends were. He gave the paper to Scaramouche and said "Here you go scaredy cat. Y/n's phone number. Now you can text him whenever you want"

"What exactly did you say to get his phone number?" The boy asked while eating his sandwich

"I just said that it's for you" Ajax smirked at short boy in front of him "They also want to talk to you, but can't bring themselves to do it. You're lucky i'm here to save your gay ass"

"You what?!" Scara blushed at his answer. He did NOT just said that.

"What? I did you a favor. Now you can text them instead of talking face to face with them" Childe said, his mouth full with food.

Scara hid his face with his hands while saying "You're a dumbass"

"And that dumbass is your best friend that knows how to save you. Thank me later"

Well, he's not wrong. If it wasn't for Childe, no one would've go and talk to the other. Scaramouche should thank him someday.
