#Uraichi prompt challenge 3

Welcome to this year's UraIchi Prompt Challenge! For our 8th PC, we will be focusing on crossovers!

Like we did for a previous mini-event, this year will also have a spin-the-wheel component. For PC8, you will be spinning for at least one random fandom and creating a crossover fanwork with it. A total of 300 different fandoms were nominated in the space of a week, so you'll have plenty to choose from. For most of them, I tried to copy the fandom names straight from the AO3 tags. The only exceptions are if they're not on AO3, or if I thought a catch-all name suited it better (ie. Marvel Comics (Any) because there are just too many of them, and this way you can pick whichever Marvel comic/movie/etc. you want). But overall, all fandoms that were nominated have been included in one of the wheels.

Before we get into that though, here are the rules for PC8:

1) Fanworks must be UraIchi-centric and complete. Obviously, this year, they must also be crossovers in some shape or form. UraIchi can be romantic or platonic (lovers, friends, family, enemies, etc.), so long as you can stick a / or an & between them, and they and their interactions are the main focus. 2) Any kind of fanwork is allowed if you can pull it off (fic, art, vid, gifset, etc.). There is no word limit for fics. 3) Poly ships are fine so long as UraIchi is in there somewhere. 4) The general definition of a crossover is a fanwork where two or more fandoms are combined in some way. For the purpose of this event, dimension travel, fusions, isekai, reincarnation, and resurrection would all count so long as your work includes at least one other fandom outside of Bleach. Likewise, Bleach must obviously be one of the fandoms. Basically, so long as Bleach and 1+ Other Fandom(s) are combined in some way, starring UraIchi as the main characters, then you should be good. If you are unsure whether your idea of a crossover counts, you can always send in an ask to check.

And finally, what you've all been waiting for:

As I mentioned before, I used Wheel Decide to make the wheels, but each wheel has a limit of 100 items, so since we ended up with 300 fandoms, I've had to split it into 3 wheels.

There's no specific theme or category for each wheel. I threw everything into a random choice generator, and then threw the results onto each wheel in batches of 100, so it's all random, and you can play this in a number of ways. You could just pick one wheel, spin, and get your fandom that way. You could also spin two or three wheels, and then pick your favourite out of the fandoms you get. Or you could spin all three wheels and write a four-fandom crossover like a crazy person. The point is, there's pretty much no wrong way to go about cobbling together your crossover.

If you want to submit more than one fanwork, feel free to spin for as many as you want to write/draw/etc. (of course, they should all be complete). And yes, you can spin more than once if you're really stuck on the fandom you get, or you just don't know the fandom at all.

My conclusion is that I do too many fandom events. Especially UraIchi events.

This year, I wrote 74,683 words, and published (on AO3) 32,298 words!

That's 21 new and completed works, and 2 updates to previously existing works, and I'm pretty sure it was my most prolific year to date. A trend I'm hoping to continue into the next year!

For my self-challenge series, I completed 17 out of 26 prompts.

Out of the works I posted,

1 was Gravity Falls: Stan and the Stowaways

2 were for It: Beleaguer, Ravenous

1 was MCU- Iron Man: Simulacrum

3 were Naruto: Fantastical, Hush, Yesteryear

1 was Star Wars (the original trilogy): Zeroth

2 were for Teen Wolf: Infatuation, kochanie ch 2,

1 was The Walking Dead: bouquets for the dead

I posted 4 shipping works. 2 of them were UraIchi; 1 of them was Steter; and 1 of them was team 7 ot3, Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura.

This year, I aim to increase my overall word counts and top my record longest fic that was a little over 7k words; as well as increase the amount of dialogue people use in my fic; and see if I can't manage to write works with more than three characters, tops.

UraIchi Week 2023 is officially over! You can check out all the fics and art submitted this year (almost 70 fanworks!) on this blog and in the AO3 collection over here. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event 💖💖💖 We couldn’t have done it without you.

The collection will remain open for at least another month, so feel free to continue submitting fanworks if you’re still working on them. And if you’ve made posts for your works on tumblr but it hasn’t been reblogged here yet, no worries, it should be sitting in the queue. I’ve timed it so that it reblogs 3 posts a day so it might take a while.

The next event will be the Prompt Challenge at the end of the year, and I’ll post more info on that once we get closer to the date.

UraIchi Prompt Challenge #3

So,for July, because UraIchi Week just ended and Bleach Big Bang is looming ahead (and also personally, real life got rly busy so I’ve sort of been running on empty in the writing department), I figured we could go for something easier or at least simpler. I was going to host a free-for-all UraIchi-centric mini-event, but I thought about it, and it doesn’t seem very fun, that’s basically what UraIchi fans do when there isn’t an event.

So, instead, for this year’s July 15th, it’ll still be a prompt challenge like the two previous times, but the prompts won’t be as restricting.

Challenge:

1) Decide on at least 1 prompt method below, pick your prompt, and then produce a completed work for it.

2) If you’re writing, the minimum word count is: 100 words.

3)  So long as your work is related to the prompt in some way, anything goes.

Prompt Methods:

1) Choose a line from one of your favourite songs.

2) Choose a quote from one of your favourite books.

Literally that’s it. Go wild. Remember to credit song/composer/book/writer.

This is related to my UraIchi Week 2019 Day 5(?) submissions for the prompt ‘Blood’. I’m not entirely sure if I’m happy with it, since I threw it together in a night (I ahh… wasn’t intending upon participating.)

The quote doesn’t quite fit, I feel? I’m not sure. I hope you like it regardless!

Hello! It’s that time of the year again, December’s just a few months away, which means our annual UraIchi mini-event is coming up. I’m hoping to keep it simple this year, with a broad overarching theme for writers and artists to contribute to. As the name suggests, anything related to the winter season counts!

Requirements:

1) The ship is of course Kurosaki Ichigo/Urahara Kisuke or Kurosaki & Urahara Kisuke. Romantic or platonic is fine, and if you want to write them in a poly relationship with one or more other people, that’s okay too so long as Ichigo and Kisuke are a main focus of the fanwork.

2) Pick a winter theme! For this, I would say use your own judgement, but pretty much everything from weather to holidays to the general month of December would fall into this category. Some examples might include:

Christmas/New Year

Kisuke’s birthday

snowed in on a road trip/in a cabin in the woods/at a hotel

perpetual winter apocalypse

winter gods/spirits

Shinigami war extending into the coldest season of the year

falling through the ice/hypothermia

snowball fights

cuddling for warmth XD

3) If you’re writing, the minimum word count is 100 words.

4) Works should be completed.

Ever since Urahara-shizun had cruelly pushed Ichigo into the Shattered Shaft, he hasn't managed to catch a single glimpse of his shizun even once. But when Demon-King Baraggan Louisenbairn invades the Human Realm, Ichigo can't just stand aside and watch. Even if he has to sacrifice his life for his shizun, Ichigo can't find it in himself to regret.

UraIchi Prompt Challenge #1

So! I know it’s only been less than a month since UraIchi Week (holy hell that was a bigger success than I ever expected), but for all the Bleach fans out there, you know Ichigo’s birthday is coming up on July 15th, so I figured I’d toss up a mini-event for anyone who wants to write more UraIchi ;p

Here’s how it goes:

Challenge:

1) Pick at least 1 prompt below (you can do as many as you want) and produce a completed work for it. Combining two or more prompts into one work is fine too so long as it’s finished.

2) If you’re writing, the minimum word count is: 300 words.

3) Feel free to interpret these prompts however you want. So long as your work is related to the prompt in some way, anything goes.

1) Word (this can be included in the fic you're writing or simply be used for inspiration)
