A small PSA on fandom etiquette

There has been a recent trend in both the One Piece fandom as well as other fandoms when it comes to the treatment of fan works (mainly fanfiction) and I wanted to address it now to avoid it becoming more of an issue

While I understand that many of you have a lot of love for some fan works and it might be devastating to you if those fics are removed by their author and no longer accessible to you, please do not publicly re-upload deleted fics if you have them downloaded!

If you loved those works then respect that the author decided to delete them for whatever reason. They owe you nothing. Mourn and move on.

Keeping the One Piece fandom and our communities a respectful and positive place is very important to me! And while it's nice to see that people's love for a fan work is so great that they mourn it's loss, I feel it's important that we insure that the author's decision to no longer make it publicly available is respected.

So, cherish the fics that you can read right now and show your love for them to the authors while you still can ❤️ Leave comments on fics you love and return to regularly! Let the authors know what their works mean to you. And if you truly wish to insure a work will always be available, download it to keep in your own private library.
