Now have basketball player Lenore x rifle Annabel Lee
...what a weird combination.
I said what I said, I'm drawing buff or idk
Is het normaal als mijn litteken doet nogal irritant? Da zit op mijne arm, een maand of twee oud litteken en ineens moet ik het krabben - want het jeukt. Pijnlijk ook

Obviously they had a falling out ever since William started his.. Hobby. And Freddy’s closed. But does this cause him to ever genuinely miss Henry? Does ur William love him still all the same despite everything? Maybe even wishing things were different? Or does he not really care anymore
maybe he does sometimes miss past times but what's done is done. it's not like things will come back to haunt him, right?
#ask#anon#thats what happens when you start a unusual hobby#serial killer as a hobby may be a red flag 🤔

They need to launch more metalhead barbatos content im starved i can't take it anymore i need to see him in corpse paint i need mc to invite him to a concert i need to discover his favorite type of metal his favorite band....sighs
I mean, the only canon content we have of this is him confirming in a chat that he enjoys listening to heavy metal. Like they just dropped in that crumb and then completely deprived us of further information about it.
I too would enjoy knowing more of these details! Alas, I don't believe they will ever give us more... because they never give us what we want lol. We just have to fill in that information ourselves! I'd love to hear what bands you think he might like!
If I could draw at all, I would have absolutely drawn metal style Barbatos 'cause you know that man is gonna look good in anything he wears...
#it's just such a juicy tidbit#giving him unusual hobbies is so cool#like oh yes tea and cleaning and heavy metal#obey me#obey me barbatos#anon asks#misc answers

Hi!! I don't know if you remember me, but I'm the person you explained the Castalia thing to a few days ago. I've been following you for a while now, but I just managed to go through your blog well and proper, and I'm here to express both my gratitude for the amount of info and links you've shared (I did NOT know about the hepatoscopy and haruspicy, and I'm about to go down a lengthy rabbit hole) and my horror at once again being given a new hyperfixation (I didn't imagine wanting to read about liver-divination help).
Also, also, are you the author of Exeunt Phoebus Apollo on AO3 because that was the fic that sent me on this greek mythology spree, and it's so good I got obsessed with Apollo, and he's everywhere around me now. Thank you for writing it!
AAAAAA THIS IS SO SWEET?? THANK YOU!! I do remember you and hey man, I'm always happy to help <33
I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).
It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!
Also yes, I did write Exeunt 😳I'm very very honoured that you enjoyed my work so much and I'm even more grateful that it could let you see the Apollo in everything 💖 Thank you for reading it!!
#ginger answers asks#HAPPY HARUSPICING!!#Idk man this stuff is just super interesting#I know the Argonauts aren't a very popular tale (for some reason)#But Medea's works of magic are also some of the clearest we get to see descriptions of in text#And part of why the morality of Medea is something that's so widely debated even now is because of what her magic entailed#I personally love stuff like that#Communing with the gods in greek myth always necessitates some kind of sacrifice#The link must literally be made in blood and when mistakes are made or ceremony is ignored#those prices are also paid in blood#now to modern sensibilities it seems cruel or unusual#but many religions in antiquity worked on these bases and the spilling of blood meant more than violence or death or ill omen#There were so many other nuances to it in terms of honour in death or divine death etc etc#One can be very cynical and say 'oh well it doesn't matter they were still killing things and there's nothing cool about that'#And to that I say buddy you're in the wrong hobby#If you can only perceive the spilling of blood whether human or animal as gross/murder/etc etc then you REALLY shouldn't be consuming#pagan culture and tradition LMFAO#Apollo was like#The Butcher God#There's no point is erasing half of his identity to make him some sterile always nice positive good god#He was a hunter a butcher blood stained a sacrificer#Of course blood would be but a language to him#Anyway all of that is to say hepatoscopy is cool and there's a ton of reading to do about it#Fly free my liver brethren!! Fly free!!!!

"[Elizabeth Woodville's] piety as queen seems to have been broadly conventional for a fifteenth-century royal, encompassing pilgrimages, membership of various fraternities, a particular devotion to her name saint, notable generosity to the Carthusians, and the foundation of a chantry at Westminster after her son was born there. ['On other occasions she supported planned religious foundations in London, […] made generous gifts to Eton College, and petitioned the pope to extend the circumstances in which indulgences could be acquired by observing the feast of the Visitation']. One possible indicator of a more personal, and more sophisticated, thread in her piety is a book of Hours of the Guardian Angel which Sutton and Visser-Fuchs have argued was commissioned for her, very possibly at her request."
-J.L. Laynesmith, "Elizabeth Woodville: The Knight's Widow", "Later Plantagenet and Wars of the Roses Consorts: Power, Influence, Dynasty"
#historicwomendaily#elizabeth woodville#my post#friendly reminder that there's nothing indicating that Elizabeth was exceptionally pious or that her piety was 'beyond purely conventional'#(something first claimed by Anne Crawford who simultaneously claimed that Elizabeth was 'grasping and totally lacking in scruple' so...)#EW's piety as queen may have stood out compared to former 15th century predecessors and definitely stood out compared to her husband#but her actions in themselves were not especially novel or 'beyond normal' and by themselves don't indicate unusual piety on her part#As Laynesmith's more recent research observes they seem to have been 'broadly conventional'#A conclusion arrived at Derek Neal as well who also points out that in general queens and elite noblewomen simply had wider means#of 'visible material expression of [their] personal devotion' - and also emphasizes how we should look at their wider circumstances#to understand their actions (eg: the death of Elizabeth's son George in 1479 as a motivating factor)#It's nice that we know a bit about Elizabeth's more personal piety - for eg she seems to have developed an attachment to Westminster Abbey#It's possible her (outward) piety increased across her queenship - she undertook most of her religious projects in later years#But again - none of them indicate the *level* of her piety (ie: they don't indicate that she was beyond conventionally pious)#By 1475 it seems that contemporaries identified Cecily Neville as the most personally devout from the Yorkist family#(though Elizabeth and even Cecily's sons were far greater patrons)#I think people also assume this because of her retirement to Westminster post 1485#which doesn't work because 1) we don't actually know when she retired? as Laynesmith says there is no actual evidence for the traditional#date of 12 February 1487#2) she had very secular reasons for retiring (grief over the death of her children? her lack of dower lands or estates which most other#widows had? her options were very limited; choosing to reside in the abbey is not particularly surprising. it's a massive and unneeded jump#to claim that it was motivated solely by piety (especially because it wasn't a complete 'retirement' in the way people assume it was)#I think historians have a habit of using her piety as a GOTCHA!' point against her vilification - which is a flawed and stupid argument#Elizabeth could be the most pious individual in the world and still be the pantomime villain Ricardians/Yorkists claim she was#They're not mutually exclusive; this line of thinking is useless#I think this also stems from the fact that we simply know very little about Elizabeth as an individual (ie: her hobbies/interests)#certainly far less than we do for other prominent women Margaret of Anjou; Elizabeth of York;; Cecily Neville or Margaret Beaufort#and I think rather than emphasizing that gap of knowledge her historians merely try to fill it up with 'she was pious!'#which is ... an incredibly lackluster take. I think it's better to just acknowledge that we don't know much about this historical figure#ie: I do wish that her piety and patronage was emphasized more yes. but it shouldn't flip too far to the other side either.

gotta say that if bram stoker is trying to convince me that Renfield isn't actually future Johnathan from another timeline, then he isn't doing a very good job at it
#dracula daily#dracula#i'm joking i promise........ mostly#look the timeloop talk is getting to me; can you blame me for illogical brain wondering if time shenanigans are involved lmaoooo#obviously the mention of the guy's strength earlier makes you think of how dracula is described at the start#but it obviously can't be dracula himself#so it's either another random vampire OR............ *conspiracy voice* johnathan who got turned into a vampire in another timeline.....#HE WRITES IN A NOTEBOOK. THAT'S NOT A VERY UNUSUAL HOBBY OBVIOUSLY BUT#IT STANDS OUT WHEN OUR MC HAS BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT WRITING IN A NOTEBOOK/JOURNAL/DIARY THIS WHOLE TIME!!!#and just cutting back to some Mysterious Guy in general while we don't know Johnathan's fate........ yeah#a guy who is in an asylum which happens to be right next to the place johnathan had picked out for dracula#obviously no one would be expecting to find time travel/universe travel in their gothic literature lmao#so this is not a serious theory anyone would seriously have#but on the other hand...... we already have a freaking cowboy. this book is already wild enough. WHY NOT

My dad said his garden vegetables he planted over the last couple weeks sprouted for him in record time so he could have plant babies for father's day. So cool
#i'm glad he's getting into gardening. he used to have music as his main hobby but can't play guitar anymore bc nerve damage#i call him every couple days and we tell each other about our yards and meals we ate and what we did#i think I have the best relationship I've ever had with him right now since I was a baby#i used to dread fathers day because I was obligated to call him but it wasn't even unusual for me to call him now

twitter is a nightmare. an account with over 2k followers trashing on some random fanfic is literally a nightmare scenario
#LIKE. said fic wasn't one that appeals to me personally but for someone with such a big following to do that??? what the hell#“i felt so bad about posting this” no you didn't. if you felt bad about it you wouldn't have posted it. it is very easy to Not post stuff#people are allowed to critique anything they want but it feels mean to do that to some random fanwork... even if it's bad or ooc or w/e#like... they're not being paid to make that. most people make fanfiction as a hobby and out of love for a series#i might delete this later since this kind of post is unusual for me. just wanted to get my thoughts out here because it's. Hhouugh.

feeling feelings about my family again
#like im so glad that my cousins are comfortable around me and im so upset that thats seen as some huge accomplishment#or a sign that i should have my own kids#because im literally just showing interest in their lives and hobbies and not judging them for any of it#but like my grandparents and aunts and uncles have gotten so comfortable with teasing kids for any way theyre unusual#and they either dont know or dont care that thats gonna fuck with a kids self esteem#i just. these kids deserve so much better#the family is shit and all of the adult cousins are well aware of that and how its fucked us all up#and i just want things to be better than that for the younger ones who are still figuring themselves out#despite what my grandma says its not about how i would be a good parent or whatever#im just trying to connect with these people and be someone they can feel comfortable around#and none of the aunts and uncles bother to do that so it seems like some big accomplishment when its really not
