How about a spin of the ❛ seeing you happy is all that matters. ❜ prompt with Heartbreak?

He and his s/o have been together for a while, though tonight his s/o did the thing he didn't think possible; they confessed their love to him. They admitted that they've been in love with him for a while, but they wanted to make sure that he was comfortable and happy before telling him their feelings. They didn't want to jeopardise their friendship because seeing him happy is all that mattered to them, and unless they were sure he was romantically interested in them as well, then they weren't going to risk the happy friendship they have.

Is a little short, I will admit but cute!

"seeing you happy is all that matters" is what Y/n told him. Standing in front of him, was the person that he thought was his best friend. Somebody he could trust with everything and anything... and they just confessed that they had a crush on him.

"I've liked you for such a long time, and... I don't want you to think that I was only your friend because I liked you. I was your friend before I got the crush. I... I feel bad, I know you don't want a relationship but if you like me back, I promise I would be the best datemate I can be"

Heartbreak didn't know what to say, or if he even was supposed to say something! Well, he knew that he was supposed to say something but what do you tell someone who just confessed that they had a crush on you? Heartbreak was scared, and... honestly, half of him just wanted to get out of there. Teleport away, and never see Y/n again. Though, he knew that he wasn't going to be able to do that.

You know why?

Because... he felt the same.

"You... like me?" They nod, "For me being me?" Seeing them nod again, he just couldn't believe it. How could they love him? Why would they love him? He wasn't anything special! Nothing about him was special.

He felt like he was going to pass out, the worry setting in quickly and rushing through his bones like blood through veins.

"I-" he stops himself, shutting his mouth tight, his teeth clinking together with how fast he shut it. He could tell that they were uncomfortable, they most likely felt bad... he turns his head away, rubbing at his arm, shifting where he was standing. "I won't say that I don't feel the same, Y/n. I know that I do but... I know that you know how I feel about relationships like that. If you're sure that you want to try I... won't say no j-just um" he sighs, rubbing his hands on his face. "You need to be sure that you want to do this"

"Hey hey" Y/n slowly reached over, moving his hands into their own and smiles at him, "I wouldn't have said it if I wasn't sure... If you're sure you want to try, I'm more than sure" they lean over, giving him a very slight nuzzle on his cheek with their nose.

He shuts his eye on that side, his breath shuttering for a second but he relaxes, leaning into the touch shutting his eye sockets, squeezing their hands softly "Okay..." he mumbles. He really hopes that this wasn't a mistake.

So, how would it be for Heartbreak if he one day came to the realisation that he has indeed been getting really close to someone. They've respected his wishes of not being touched, but eventually they both softened up to each other and he allowed them to finally touch him.

It was really slow in the beginning, just holding his hand or giving him a pat on the shoulder, but eventually they gave him soft hugs and little cheek nuzzles. And now Heartbreak finds himself on the sofa together with them. They were supposed to watch a movie together, but halfway through they both dozed off and fell asleep, only Heartbreak woke up not too long after, and now he finds himself being cuddled close to their chest. They're holding him in a warm embrace, and they're even making soft sounds now and again as they cuddle close to him in their sleep. How would he react to this development?

When Heartbreak woke up, feeling the arms around him, he couldn't help but panic a little.

His soul sped up, his bones locking... Until he remembered where he was. He was with Y/n... They had been watching a movie.

His eye shines shoot around, breathing to try to calm himself. He hated when he almost panicked...

He looks down. He was up against their chest, and they were holding him so nicely... Not too tight but enough to feel snug.

His mind started to wonder. Since when did he feel so calm around Y/n? When did he start to let them touch him like this?

He couldn't remember... It just felt right, he figured? He breathes out, snuggling up against their chest, shutting his eye sockets, allowing himself to drift off again. Maybe this isn't the worst.

As he relaxed against them, he couldn’t help but get a small smile, nuzzling them softly. Yeah, this totally wasn’t the worst...
