Color, clothes and Golden's lack of agency

Golden's outfits stand out from the rest of the cast. Instead of the normal unifrom, he constantly wears semiformal clothes, always accompanied by the color gold/yellow. It's integral to his brand as "The Golden Boy". However, edd00 has said before that Golden doesn't actually like the color gold. According to his ficha, his favorite color is white. So, why does he always wear gold?

Well, for starters, he doesn't always wear it. In fact, when he lived with his mom and just started to live with his grandpa, he didn't wear it at all. He used brown and green instead. He isn't wearing semiformal or formal clothes either.

Things changed when his life started to be controlled. He started wearing the color gold, shirts, vests and tuxedos.

But there are still times where he doesn't use gold or formal clothes:

When he's with his friends

Or alone with no supervision, like in his room or when he met Chica

But when he's working or at school, he almost always wears that color alongside more formal clothes.

The only times where this doesn't happen that I can think of is in this scene, where he's with The Animatronics while wearing a golden t-shirt.

And in this scene, where he's working on a set (filming what is said to be a video, so I'm guessing a music video) and is clearly not wearing any golden clothing.

But we can easily explain these. In the first one, The Animatronics are still wearing the school uniform, so they may still be in school grounds, which would explain why Golden is dressed in golden. Also, his clothes are not formal this time, so there's separation from his usual working "uniform".

As for the second, he's in a set, and as soon as he leaves he's wearing his usual golden vest again.

So, it's plausible that in that scene he's wearing something that was picked out for him by a costume designer or another member of the creative team.

Getting back on track, it seems to me that Golden doesn't want to wear golden clothing or formal clothes, since he uses many chances he has not to wear them, but is forced to do so by his grandpa or someone who works for him, like Jeffrey.

But, why? as a way to control him, of course. It doesn't matter what he likes or prefers, he's The Golden Boy. He's the face of the family company and a brand in itself, marked by this color and these clothes. It's a way to strip him from his identity and form him into what is wanted. It was the very first form of control too, ever since his grandpa started dressing him. Since it's such a small thing, it serves as a bridge. From not being controlled by his mom, to his grandpa controlling what he wears and does as a child, to his grandpa controlling his whole life as a teen. It got him used to being controlled and not thinking for himself.

Not using the color gold or formal clothes when he can is a small way he has of keeping his own identity, having some agency. Even if he doesn't realize it, it's a small form of rebellion. I imagine the reason he dislikes the color in the first place is it's association with the Golden Boy brand and the family business, which have caused him great pain. And, of course, it's association with the control his grandpa has over him, even in small things. It's just a big reminder that he isn't free.

Now, you may be wondering, but what about his design in season two? He's finally away from his family, but he's still wearing a golden sweater vest.

Here's where we should pay attention to the type of clothes he wears. When he was being controlled, he was wearing semiformal/formal clothes, while in season two he was wearing sweaters, which aren't exactly a formal piece of clothing. And I say sweaters in plural because we can see him wearing them in songs.

He was also wearing a sweater when he was studying in his room, so it's obvious he likes wearing them. It's his choice. The golden color may be a sign that, even though he's physically free, he's still affected by his grandpa's control. We can see it in episode three of season two: when Joy tells him that when he's home their grandpa will be mad at him,

instead of if he goes home. She takes for granted the fact that Golden will be back home eventually. And he simply agrees,

instead of doubling down and saying he won't be back anytime soon. He's free, but he doesn't believe it will be for long. Still, he's mentally getting away from his grandpa by wearing a sweater vest instead of a regular, more formal one. He's doing it slowly, but it's happening.

Going back to the colors, I think the color white also has a role in this. In his z3r0 design, Golden isn't wearing any white.

He's also not wearing any in his reboot design.

Now, why could this be? he has always worn it, and it's his favorite color.

Interestingly, this has happened before, in the camp arc. When Golden was under Cami's spell, he wasn't wearing any white either.

But when he was freed by The Animatronics... suddenly his shirt became white.

This could very well be (and probably is) just an error, but i find the distinction curious. Especially when we take into account that "hypnotized" Golden had a whole different outfit without white, besides the one with the black shirt that mysteriously turned white. So, on one hand, we have Golden not wearing white while under Cami's control. What's the context of him not wearing white in z3r0 and the reboot?

As far as I know, the reboot supposedly takes place right before the camp arc, when Golden was "lost", so it makes sense that he's also not wearing any white. However, he's clearly not under Cami's spell, so, what's the reason? it may be related to the little we know of his home situation at the moment: his grandpa is mad at him.

He doesn't want Golden to hang out with his friends. He can tell he's losing control over him, so he keeps him away from The Animatronics and tries reaffirming control. How? Not only with his words, but also his actions: by forcing him to wear gold and not any white.

In my opinion, the color white is like the last straw. When he's being fully controlled, by his grandpa who is mad or by Cami who is literally controlling his mind, he isn't wearing any white. We never got to see Golden in z3r0 past him posing for the intro, but i have to guess his grandpa wasn't delighted that he ran away in season two, and made him not wear white for the same reason he does in the reboot. He's mad at him for loosening the control he has, responding with even more control.

In conclusion, I believe the color gold and the formal clothes in Golden show he's being controlled. Combined with a lack of the color white, it shows that he's utterly powerless.

MASTER JOURNEYS ACADEMY (TWST AU)

Open to people of all types, Master Journeys Academy allows its students to harnace their knowledge and experience to become their very best.

Master Journeys Academy is a ten-year arcane Academy where it teaches both magical wielders and magicless individuals, starting on the age of ten, on an archipelago that is off beside the Country of Pyroxene where special, beautiful, strong, dangerous, and unique creatures inhabited there that are called Pokemon.

The academy is known to educate great scholars, magicians, Idols, Actors, Writers, Professors, etc. But MJA is mostly famous for teaching future Pokemin Trainers, or known otherwise known as Beast Tamers outside of Adventure Archipelago.

ENROLLMENT

Students of all walks of life can enter in this school through signing forums and enrollment documents like any average school there is due to how the country of Adventure Archipelago, where the Academy resides, is slowly and surely opening to other parts of Twisted Wonderland with MJA being part of the progress of openness and alliance.

A letter will be sent to the student's home via mail delivering pokemon that will give them a guide of what they should expect for the coming year(s), of what subjects and lessons that they will learn, of what items or supplies they shall bring to school, and some information of where they shall be picked up in their respective location so that they will be go to MJA.

Master Journeys Train, the school's personal train that has been used to pick up incoming students, will arrive at a certain location (the location depends on how far or near each students are on their local area between eachother) with other students who will be also at that same location if all those students are in the same country or location. The train is run without magic, just like any inventions that are made in Adventure Archipelago, so it uses teleportation with the help of the school's fellow helper pokemon, Hoopa. It even picks up soon-to-be students from underwater.

Students, who are magically gifted, are given magestones upon enrolling to the academy (thanks to the coaporation between governments) with the stones styled into a bracelet for the students to wear confortably and easily.

UNIFORM

The school dosent have any requirements of unifrom that the students should where so they are free to design and wear whatever they like under some rules, like one of them being that all students should where the ribbon that has the schools crest.

Each students can where the ribbon whatever they like, in their hair, clothes, as accessories and so much more, as long as they wear and/or have it for not having it is against the school's dress code.

SCHOOL LIFE

During their first year, all students are first given six pokeballs by their designated homeroom teacher and, by the student's permission, can get their phone turn into a Rotom phone by letting a Rotom inhabiting the device.

Students are given the time to choice their first pokemon. Teachers and even the Headmistress can give the students a choice out of the three starter trio of each region to pick as their partner, friend and part of their family but they also allow the student the needed amount of time if they can make up their mind or simply wanted to catch one themselves.

Around the end of their second month or beginning of the 3rd month in MJA, the school's tradition of a open-ended independent study assignment will be present/commenced where students of all grades and years are free to set out and travel Adventure Archipelago in their own merit, with the purpose of the assignemnt is to widen the world for the students and to learn and use the knowledge during their first few months at MJA and their journey so that they could grow responsible, mature and smart through the experiences with their Pokémon.

POKÉMON

Pokémon are creatures of all shapes and sizes who live in the wild or alongside their human partners (called “Trainers”). They are found everywhere in Adventure Archipelago (or Adventure Islands for short) but cant be found in other places in Twisted Wonderland. During their adventures, Pokémon grow and become more experienced and even, on occasion, evolve into stronger Pokémon.

Pokémon at the academy roam freely, work there and even partner up with the staff and students of all kinds for many years since it's construction around 900 years ago.

There are pokemon helping in the library, botanical gardens, cafeteria, kitchen, faculty and so much more. There is even a playground where Trainers can let their Pokémon run, play or doing anything they want as they wait for their trainer during their class time.

Though Pokémon is evident in the students curriculum and school life, during classes where Pokémon arent needed must be entertained and occupied somewhere else to not distract the students while class is in session.

Haii, i'm back again

So this would be the last headcanon i promised to you. I have another Obirin demon slayer headcanon AU. This is recently on my mind after i read the demon slayer manga about Mitsuri.

By the way, i will include another pair like Kakashi Hanare and Yahiko Konan, so i hope you dont mind (just a bit at the end)

So, when someone pass the selection exam, they will be given a kasugai crow and have to choose what kind of steel they want for their sword. And later on they will get their own uniform along with their katana sword.

When they rank up to the hashira level, they will get new uniform (i think, i dont know is it optional or not, but i saw on the manga that Mitsuri and Shinobu got new uniform)

Okay, so this is what i want to talk about. Let's get into our couple.

I'm pretty sure that Obito wouldn't like to see Rin using anything that exposed her body too much like her thighs, breast, back, etc. Even though he didn't say it out loud.

I mean if he already have a relationship with her, i'm pretty sure he only want her body only for him 💀.

So when Rin became a hashira, Her tailor, gives her a very revealed uniform. It contains a short skirt that reached her thighs, and a uniform with white long sleeved collared shirt that revealed her cleavage a lsittle bit too much. She wasn't really comfortable with that and actually embarassed using it.

And yes, this is what i meant. (But don't get me wrong, she's pretty and kind though)

So in demon slayer manga, Misturi got her uniform from a pervert kakushi tailor who wants to see her body, so he made it very revealed. And it's the same for Shinobu, but later on she burned the uniform right in front of the kakushi himself.

Back to the topic, so when Obito saw her using that unifrom, he's completly in shock. He didn't say anything due to his shock and that makes Rin really embarassed when he saw her in that uniform. Luckly, Obito is the only one who saw her in that.

Rin tried to covered her breast until Obito walk towards her, he took off his haori and gave it to her so she can covered her body with it. Luckly, his haori was too big for her, so it covered her to just above her knees.

He said to her that he will talk to the kakushi about her uniform. And he did. He really search the tailor who made her uniform. Once he find him, Obito attempted to kill him if he wouldn't change the design of her uniform.

Few days later, Rin got her new uniform. And she's comfortable using it, which made Obito glad. Otherwise the kakushi will receive another death threats from him. The design its almost the same like the other hashira's, so there should be no problem with it.

unlucky for the kakushi, he repeated the same thing when Hanare and Konan became Hashira. He made them a very revealead uniform too, until he received another death threats from Yahiko and Kakashi.

If you would like a discription about this kakushi, just imagine Jiraiya making a uniform for the girls, i bet you can imagine it.

What if the kids got little NSS uniforms?

Omg they'd wear them around all the time! Even when they're not doing anything NSS related, they just like to wear them. The agents specifically designed them to be comfortable and durable, since they had anticipated the kids loving the uniforms so much that they'd wear them around all the time.

Thank you for the ask!!! I'm imagining all the unifroms kind of match, but they're also all a little different to convey the kids' different personalities.

Eastern European style of camouflage had some variants for purposes. The camouflage was designed with 2-tone or 3-tone colors. Introduced in 1938, some snipers wore the earliest pattern of camouflage outfits.

In 1980′s, TTsKO or three-color camouflage uniform (pattern) and the later designed KLMK unifrom became the most ubiquitous designs in the USSR. The neighboring Poland also used some camouflage especially for the air borne and parachute special operation troops, with the three- or four-color spot pattern also nicknamed Żaba or "frog". (the country at that time was called PRL)

At the same time, China used the Type 81 as known as “big five leaves” (大五叶 ) pattern resembles American “Duck Hunter” design. Introduced in the mid- to -late 1970s, the uniforms would have seen service into the 1980s, including the Sino-Vietnamese War.

good morning my dearests! took a peek at the tags when i woke up and im loving all of your thoughts. lets talk about them!

i am secretly a big fashions enjoyer, so youve piqued my interest quite a bit. lets take a look at everyones favorite little supermodel, muu! @purgemarchlockdown tysm for your tags!!

outfit 1, trial 1.

now im not quite sure why the outfits under the prisoner's uniforms are different from the outfits they committed their murders in, but that's a discussion for a different day

we start off with what appears to be a strapless (or spaghetti strap) simple, tan nightgown or form-fitting dress with a lace applique at the bottom of the skirt. i personally lean more towards this being a nightgown or under-dress. and while milgram has not shyed away from using real-life brands as inspiration for character outfits, i have no way of placing this dress as anything beyond an outfit designed specifically for muu. her shoes are also likely made just for the project, but i can easily find similar pairs for under $30 online, leading into $50

outfit 2, trial 2.

right off the bat you can see that muu's outfit is more complicated and looks more expensive than her t1 outfit! she has earrings, something she didnt have before- and damn do they look pricey. another sleeveless look, with a skirt that displays two patterns- a plaid that is surprisingly similar to her school unifrom's skirt, and peacock feathers on a dark cloth. i could go in-depth on the symbolism for peacock feathers, but this post is already huge. ill leave you with these for now

youll also notice that her shoes are far more expensive looking! they appear to be inlaid with rhinestones. it's important to note that the trial 2 outfits are most likely clothes that the prisoners have ordered through milgram- and there appears to be no set budget for the prisoners to order personal items. so it begs the question... if she wanted to wear rhinestone-inlaid shoes before milgram, and had the funds to do so......... why didnt she have them in the first trial? why were her shoes so... bare?

outfit 3, muu's birthday.

now this is an outfit fit for a princess! but, i suppose theres no evidence that she actually owns this dress, huh? but lets take a look anyway

clearly, her dress is inspired by belle from beauty and the beast. a french tale! how fitting and lovely. but... belle did not start out as a princess, she did not come from a home of great wealth. she was a well-read, intelligent girl who found herself in a great beast's castle to save her father. she is eventually able to find the beast's true heart and fall in love with his gentle nature. they break his curse, and live happily ever after. at least, in the disney film. ive not read the original story, and unfortunately do not have the time to do so today.

whats next...

her shoes. glass slippers. a cinderella reference perhaps? yet another "fairy tale princess" who comes from a background of poverty. a young girl forced to scrub floors by her stepmother, who gained the prefix "cinder" to her preexisting "ella" by the fact that her being forced to clean out the fireplaces while her sisters lazed about , left dark ash on her hair and skin.

there are also a great number of smaller details i could get into, but my lack of time makes this challenging. so i will leave you with a final note: the cake. the galette de rois. or the three kings cake.

but i would be more than happy to elaborate!

unfortunately a few of my claims are based off of evidence/supportive pieces that are in a discord server i no longer have access to, so please forgive me

to start off, it was pointed out to me at one point that muu goes to a more expensive private school, though there are grants and scholarships that allow those without the proper funding to attend these schools regardless of their financial status (i.e. haruhi in ouran high school host club). i believe muu is a very intelligent young girl who is capable of earning one of these scholarships easily

muu also has a recurring theme of "foreigner in a place that is new and scary to her" her being a blonde-haired light-eyed half-french, lesbian GNC-girl in a private school filled with dark-haired dark-eyed japanese straight feminine girls. muu is the kind of person who likely feels totally outcast by her peers.

as well, taking a peek at this conversation in after pain:

with a very rough translation (i am not proficient in japanese, but this is the gist of the conversation)

it should be noted that muu's friends "A-" and "Sayu" appear to be talking about muu as if she is not present in the conversation, and their tone is almost mocking. muu retorts by claiming she has plenty more, and that her lipstick (which they are likely making fun of her for it being a cheap brand, though im not sure about this detail) is just an extra she had on hand. she gets defensive, and is likely lying to protect her "rich girl who has everything" image.

i would also like to point out that muu seems to have gotten nothing in return for her lipstick- and was likely lending it to her friend with no expectation. muu acts like she isnt a giving person, but genuinely seems to be thoughtful and generous towards those she cares about. this can also be seen with muu giving haruka "hand-me-down" hair clips. its a small gesture, but haruka wears and appreciates them- they keep his uncut hair out of his eyes, and its a small piece of her that he can wear. its a thoughtful gift

and secondly... doesnt anybody else think that its weird that weve seen NOTHING about her home life? with other prisoners, we see at least two aspects of their lives, if not more. haruka with his house v. the forest. yuno in the car, on the stairs, in the brothel-room, on dates. fuuta in the tunnel, the arcade, on the basketball court. shidou in his house, hospital, greenhouse. mahiru in the forest, her house, several pictures of her on outings in TIHTBILWY. kazui in his house and the bar, on the altar. amane in her house, on the street, though MAGIC primarily takes place in her "inner world". mikoto in his home and train station. kotoko in the warehouse, a bar, on the streets etc.

muu's videos take place entirely in her school. even her inner-world with the bright white walls and floors, where herself and her peers are bugs- its still her mental depiction of school. her home life is totally void in her videos. why? sure, it may not be important to her murder- but maybe, its more important than what we see in after pain and inmf

did you know that most bullies use bullying as a way to cope with lack of control in their lives? that bullies most often face harrassment at home, and that school is their only escape from abuse? those who bully their peers often mirror their own parents' actions towards them. school is likely the only place where muu has any sense of control in her life. yes, its bad that she bullied her peers, but she is a child who has no proper outlet for the pain that she faces

(i also believe that her hourglass imagery lends to a cycle of violence- that muu was likely bullied, became the bully, and lost her status only to get bullied once more)

but im going on a tangent

unfortunately at this point i am running out of steam and good examples to lend to why i believe muu is poor (please, if anyone else has any evidence to back this up, please do add on to this post! i love to hear the community's thoughts!)

but for one last, small point. let's take a look at muu's lunch. a simple bento

this bento is very small (a side note: i am also of the opinion that muu struggles with an ED) and it consists of a few simple ingredients.

a leaf of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, rice, a small amount of sauce, a single hot dog cut in the shape of an octopus, and what appears to be a hunk of protein, like chicken

well, thats not a lot of food. certainly nothing high-quality or expensive. lets take a look at some school lunches in japan. lets search up "学校 べんと" "gakkou bento" "school bento" and look at the images

muu's lunch certainly doesnt look all that filling. it most certainly does not look bougie and expensive

edit: i would also like to note that she parallels shidou as a partner prisoner. both feature the concept of lying and upholding a good image of oneself

#13 - The Classic Yellow Uniform (S3 Version)

Oh to wear one of these bad boys. The later season design for the Starfleet Unifrom are *chef’s kiss*. It looks thicker and more substantial, which is stylish and functional. But unfortunately that does mean we get to see less of his glorious dobonohonkeros. Knocking off some points for that. (But before we move on I just want to take this second to admire how radiant he looks in this frame. Beautiful man).

I genuinely want to know what was running through the costume designers’ heads when they allowed this to happen. Yes it’s a Shakespeare production, but that doesn’t mean you need to create this affront to aesthetics. Don’t get me wrong, the costume itself isn’t actually that bad! I mean, the cloak and doublet have some serious potential. I’m actually into this look. What I’m talking about is the HAIR. Speaks for itself. Absolutely fucking not.

Okay hear me out. LET ME FINISH. I know it’s the exact same as the normal s3 uniform but you’re neglecting to consider the fact that I am insane. The violent alternate timeline just had such good lighting, okay? He’s literally glowing. Adds just that little bit of extra spice it needed.

Is it aesthetically pleasing? No. Is it attractive? Absolutely not. Is he holding an epeé? Yes he is and that’s all that matters. I physically couldn’t rate it below a 3 if I tried. The outfit is an atrocity but he’s holding a sword which begs the question what would it be like to fence him. I am dying to know.

Lore must have been in a REALLY tough spot after he escaped the Crystalline Entity because there is NO WAY any self respecting gay man would have worn something like this if he didn’t absolutely HAVE to. The only redeemable quality about this is that it kind of resembles a sweatshirt which is kinda funny but other than that, Lore, come on. Get it together, girlypop. Ain’t no way you’re walking around like this.

Costume designers. WYA. I just wanna talk. He’s too hot for this shit and YOU FUCKING KNOW IT. (insert Bernie Sanders meme: I am once again asking why you would give him this haircut.) Not only is it uglier than the last bad haircut you gave him, but you also put him in a friar’s robes. That’s just straight up homophobic. 

Well, folks, that concludes Data’s Outfits Rated, part 2. Yes I combed through the entirety seasons 3 and 4 for this, and hooooo boy were there a lot of outfits. I also don’t like character designs in Boruto series. The children look the same as their parents (expect Inoojin and Sarada because she looks like Karin with Sasuke colors) but adults design is just the worst. Naruto looks like boomer, Sasuke is like emo kid but as an adult, Sakura’s clothes scream little girl, Hinata looks like an old housewife, Ino dress too sexy for her age, Temari dress like typical wife in a house similar to Hinata, Kiba looks old and I think he has problem with his hair and he is becoming bald, Shino... I have no words 🤦‍♀️ he is not original anymore, Choji similar thing with Kiba, Garra, his hairstyle is just lame for me, Orochimaru... I don’t know how to describe it and Karin with her school unifrom and ugly hairstyle . I think the slightly more better design is Tenten because she has her buns and baggy pants and she actually dress for her age. Do you have maybe one design that you like from Boruto?

Again... I don't like anything related to that series, partly because of the fuck ugly drawings in the Manga. They look like pure abomination who were drawn to irritate my eyes intentionally. I don't even understand how people are buying the physical copy of that shit. I wanted to check if I am biased towards Kishimoto's Art Style and Character Design. For that, I tried to look at other mangas, they were all looking unique and beautiful in it's own way. But not this Boruto shit.

And am not going to take the Anime version because it's always inconsistent and everyone looks ugly anyways. And every character is a dry wash repeat of some old Naruto Characters... No matter how I look at it, I can't make myself to appreciate any of their personalities, looks, behaviours, design. Not even a bit.

I know people like Baryon Mode Naruto... But I don't...

That Baryon Mode egg omelette faced Naruto is not even comparable to this Shippuden Sage Mode Bubble...
