I personally think it would have been more interesting for Naoe to be the sole protagonist who becomes close friends with Yasuke, rather than the dual-protagonist thing. Part of this is because, yes, historically we know so little about Yasuke and I think it would have been more interesting to see that explored from an outside viewpoint rather than as him, but also I think the games have often worked so well because the protagonist have never (to my knowledge, at least in the mainline series) been historical figures.
