[SNAKE PETTING] - As the mascot animal of the year, an exhibit has been set up with several non-venomous and super friendly snakes, if you’re not afraid of these scaly babies.

Collei stares at the snakes with wide eyes, watching as they blink at her with wide eyes of their own. Beady, silly little eyeballs. She glances at the exhibit manager, who nods with approval. She picks up a snake gingerly and holds it up with awe.

Not that she doesn’t see snakes back in Sumeru, but Collei usually doesn’t go out of her way to pet them. After all, those could be dangerous. Collei hasn’t finished Master Tighnari’s Avidya Forest wildlife unit yet. These snakes are different too. They’re just… Not just by being harmless, but they also look harmless. The snake she’s holding flicks its tongue at her.

Setting the snake back down, she glances over at the tall green haired man next to her. There’s a white snake on his shoulder, and just looking at this snake, she feels the overwhelming urge to just… pet it? She doesn’t give it much thought, though, because she already blurts out a question.

“Uhm… Can I pet your snake?” she asks impulsively, expression growing embarrassed after a moment to process her thoughts. “I, uh… It’s okay if I can’t, sorry to bother.”

He gives her a glance, and so does the snake. Had she mistaken Changsheng for one of the snakes in the exhibit? She doesn't appear to be the type to do so, and it's hard to outright deny her when she looks at them so innocently.

"Why don't you asssk the snake herself?" Changsheng slithers forward, trying to hover her head closer to the girl's face without losing balance upon the man's shoulders, who now gently scolds her. "Changsheng, behave... Not everyone knows that you can talk." If snakes had the same level of expressiveness as humans, she would be pouting. Alas, Changsheng was limited to her cat-shaped mouth and large, pink ( and, in Baizhu's opinion, not very intimidating ) eyes.

"Well, now you know..." She backed off a bit, less gusto in her words than before. "Since you asked nicely, I will give you a chance. But! Know that I'm not usually as lenient as I am right now..."
