I think part of the reason why the Doom movies have sucked so bad is because they've been from the POV of UAC security guys and not Doomguy (also making it aliens and not demons, which i think is what doom 3 did? Which, incidentally, is partly why doom 3 is also Not Very Good). And like the thing is, from the POV of anyone who isn't Doomguy, it absolutely is a survival horror. Those people are scared for their fucking LIVES. From Doomguy's perspective, this is just another Wednesday. He's barely breaking a sweat. And this is where the experience diverges, because the Viewer expects a movie to be a gore fest rip and tear delight, but these random UAC idiots are just not equipped to handle a demonic/alien invasion. You came to see a demon's chest get cracked open with someone's bare hands, but instead its the demons doing the cracking.

The other reasons the movies sucked so bad is because they weren't animated.

Fun fact: in animation, projects are often referred to with an internal show code instead of saying the full project name, for efficiency or confidentiality reasons. For example “the monkey king” on Netflix was internally referred to as TMK. For Unicorn Academy, the show code was UCA for UniCorn Academy (lol). You can see in posts from artists/animators/etc who worked on the show that it’s tagged or referred to as UCA, and even on the toy boxes you can see the toy names on the back are labelled things like “UCA Sophia Fashion Doll).

I wonder if Doom could have some "meta lore" around the medikits.

Like why the red cross is no longer used.

The idea being that the Red Cross Association exists in the Doom universe and sued the UAC for using their symbol, which explains all the replacements (green cross, blue cross, white cross with red squares, the ugly pill etc).

Got Xara on my new computer (thanks, dad!) so anyway here's a project I've been working on for a while; custom versions of the UAC logo from Doom, some of which are based on existing designs, and some of which are custom! I made them partially because I thought it would be fun, and partially for my custom Doom mods and mapsets (check out @wjbminecraft-mods for stuff about those)

Now that I'm writing a thoroughly pissed Samuel, I think it's time to mention that he's very destructive when he's emotional.

It's been written in a few of my threads before - He'll often grip onto surfaces so hard that they dent or snap. But that's when he's biting back his anger.

What about when he can't hold it back any longer? Things will break. Things can be thrown, smashed, burned - you name it.

The Unmaykr had to get its name from somewhere.

Rewriting some lore for Sorlag's species (reptiloids).

So far:

They are sapient bipedal cold blooded reptiles similar to our monitor lizards (they need to wear a special vest that keeps them warm when out of their homeplanet).

They do have space and warfare based tech, but unlike humans they learned how to master Quake's dimensional portals to travel through the galaxy.

They have a past of wars against Quake's cosmic horrors.

Their goddess is also their planet. Their planet is a massive warm blooded monster that "swims" in space.

After the wars against Quake, their planet remained heavily injured, losing a fuckton of blood. She has been slowly dying of blood loss for decades.

To stop their planet from dying they literally pump millions of liters of blood in her hearts every day.

Because most of the creatures living on the planet are not warm blooded, they need to go in to other planets, kidnap warm blooded (like humans cough cough) creatures and "sacrifice" them so they can keep going with the blood transfusions.

Made the absolute mistake of thinking about DOOM today because all it did was remind me of the absolute garbage way they ruined Samuel Hayden as a character in Eternal by making him secretly divine the whole time when everything in 2016 set him up to be the epitome of "the ends justify the means" and going too far with the folly of man believing they could control something as chaotic and destructive as argent hell energy ESPECIALLY when as the Seraphim he is actively against argent energy existing at all which completely goes against everything he did in the first place and his explicitly clear statement that things WILL BE WORSE if Earth no longer has access to it as a power source
