Scoundrel's Folly
So I started off by speaking to Mercer Frey
who sent me off talk to Gulum-Ei along with the option to talk to Brynolf
which I did. i then set off to Solitude to met with Gulum-Ei
Who I then bribed with a stolen case of Firebrand Wine from the Blue Palace
Upon returning he gave us a little information but not enough so I Proceeded to shadow him to the East Empire Company warehouse
It was upon entering that I realised that when I picked up this days equipment I forgot something rather integral to archery
arrows.
Luckily I managed to stealthily swim across the warehouse to where I knew Gulum-Ei would be and avoid most of the guards before entering Brinewater Grotto.
It was here that I managed to scavenge what arrows I could while allowing Uthgerd, Serana and my Undying Ghost to tank while I took pot shots at the bandits.
After fighting through the bandits I confronted Gulum-Ei once more
Where he confessed that the person who hired him for the Goldenglow estate job was Karliah. I then set off to tell Mercer this information before remembering to go back to pick up the East Empire Shipping map to give to Delvin
And it was after that alongside ransacking the warehouse for sellable goods I returned to Mercer and ended the quest

Except from "Welcome Company"
Grimm listened thoughtfully, watching Claude’s expressions and gestures as he told his story. He was so wrapped in his narration he didn’t notice the few times Grimm’s gaze lingered over his plump lips. When he caught himself he would quickly direct his eyes back up. “Sometimes it feels as though the world was made for elves and man and the rest of us have to spend our lives proving we are not ‘monsters’. Your quest is a noble one.” Gods, he didn’t want to talk about himself. He didn’t really care to talk at all. He craved more of Claude’s stories and his silky voice. “Before I was born, something happened to my parents. I’ve been looking for more information to lead me to those answers, or at least to the people I can ask more questions to. Maybe there will be more answers at The Gate. I didn’t have any luck in Candlekeep.” He felt heat rise up in his face as he had the intrusive thought to push Claude back on the hay to discover what other kinds of sounds that beautiful voice could make.
Claude continued: “So you’re telling me you’re… all by yourself? No family? That’s… Rough. You know, what I can offer is not exactly fun by any means, but I’m not looking to use you as free labor or the like. It’s more of a kind of ‘you scratch my back, I scratch yours’ deal. If you’d be interested in that. I’ve been without sane company for so long I’ve started talking to squirrels and birds.”
“It simply is. I don’t lament it, but I am curious.” Grimm laughed then, an honest to gods laugh that sparkled in his eyes, “That isn’t difficult to imagine. I am happy to assist as I am in your debt. And you sell yourself short. Your company is quite enjoyable.”
A proper shiver traveled up the paladin’s spine at the sound of a hearty laugh rolling off his lips, it was somehow a little odd to hear such a thing from a laconic, even-tempered man like him; but all the same it was positively lovely. And it also seemed that there was no sweetheart waiting for him at all.
Claude’s mother’s greatest wish was for him to eventually settle down and carry on their bloodline. For that, he knew he needed to have a woman. And women were fine enough. So the young tiefling had aimed for women since he discovered that thinking of other people naked could make your dick hard. Even though men had always been equally capable of making him hard. Like this man right now. Hells.
“Okay, so you’re a man with a mysterious past,” Claude declared with a rather cunning smile. “And you’re not… hired by anyone? Not in any guild? I pray to Tyr and follow his ambitions. And you are right, it’s not a world for the likes of us. Speaking of which,” he continued in the same breath, “please ask me to shut it if I’m overstepping, but surely you are not pure orc? I might be mistaken, of course, but it’s pretty obvious from your, um… Features.”
“Am I mysterious?” Grimm asked with a bemused smile, “I suppose I am, even to myself sometimes, really.” He plucked up a piece of hay and set it between his teeth, “My features? Whatever could you mean?” He let the tension hang in the air enjoying the color that crept across Claude’s cheeks before chuckling a bit, “No I don’t think I’m pure orc, though whatever the rest of me is I haven’t a clue. I was adopted as an orphan to serve as an apprentice to a smith. He told me that the woman he purchased me from said my mother was an elven noble that had an affair with one of her guards, but it sounds like some kind of fey spun tale, if you ask me. Likely nothing but a peasant woman’s fancy.”
“But elf, you know, it makes sense,” the tiefling said, his voice betraying his excitement. “Since you know, elves are said to be...” He cleared his throat again. Grimm noted that was something Claude tended to do when he was getting flustered. It was cute. “You might be part elf,” Claude said, finally.
“Elves are said to be… what?” Grimm asked, unsure of what Claude meant. He was a little surprised, how easily conversation flowed with his new companion. It was nice. He thought he may have said more in the last ten minutes than he had over the last ten years.
Damn, Claude thought. Ignoring gorgeous men wasn’t usually this difficult. Well, sometimes it was, but not to this degree. Grimm was the perfect image of what he desired in a man: big, strong, comely face but with a certain… gentleness to him. “Pretty”, he admitted as casually as he could muster. “Elves are pretty.”
Grimm pulled a knee up and rested his arm atop it, tilting his head down to Claude with a lofted brow. “Not a word I think I’ve ever heard attached to my name.” He still wore the little smile, and of course, that only enhanced his attractiveness. “You think I’m pretty?”

ULTRAMagic Chaos Chapter 2
Previous | First | Next
Master Post - Patreon
“And that’s my story,” Tusk said as the three passed a series of rock formations.
Mizuki was utterly amazed by Tusk’s history. “Well then… that uh, kind of makes my story pale in comparison.”
Razor kicked a stone off of the dirt road. “No it doesn’t. My father always told me that no matter how great or whimsical, woes are woes.”
“Agreed,” Tusk replied. “Spill the beans, lass. What’s your story?”
Lass? Did he just call her lass? Normally Mizuki would have given both of them a piece of her mind, but she did not as the two were growing on her. “I was pursuing a terrible and vile demon lord that had been plaguing my family and home land for generations. He fled into The Unlight after a fierce battle with my father and I went after him. Sadly I lost track of him and wandered for a long time. I came to the Realm of Chaos hoping I could get a lead on him.”
Tusk stopped to pick up a sign that had fallen down on the road. “Well I hate to rain on your parade, but that demon lord is either dead or lost to the sands of time, if you’ve been at it for long enough.”
Mizuki gave Tusk the weirdest look, indicating that she was wondering if he even knew what he was talking about. “Are you sure about that?”
He nodded. “You go around picking fights long enough in the Unlight and you’ll eventually bite off more than you can chew.”
Razor noticed that Mizuki was not pleased. “Hey, don’t worry, Mizuki. I’ll help you track him down when we’re done. Scully noses are some of the best in The Unending Forest. And if he’s dead, we’ll find his corpse for closure.”
The oni was a proud warrior, but even she had to admit that was sweet. “Thank you, Razor. I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Curiously, how did you achieve your ULTRAMagic?” Tusk inquired.
Mizuki straightened out her mask and cleared her throat. “Well I started training with a woman named Gratiana Arlotti…”
“And she wasn’t with some sleeze named Milosh?”
“No?”
Tusk nodded, as if confirming something. “Alright, continue.”
That was strange. “Anyways, after she taught me what I know about combat now, I went off and began finding soul fragments left and right. The rest came naturally.”
“That’s awesome,” Razor congratulated. “Mine were a mix of asking my friends and finding them out in the forest.”
Tusk appeared to be pondering something. “If you met Gratiana before Milosh, then your demon lord is long gone, Mizuki. I’m sure of it.”
“Well if you’re so insistent about it, just how long ago was my meeting with Lady Arlotti then?”
“Lady?” Tusk laughed. “She didn’t tell you she was a harlot, did she? Anyways, that was a long time ago, possibly before I was born and I’m 32. We’re looking at at least 40 years ago.”
“Wait, how!? I saw Lady Arlotti a year ago!”
“Well that’s nonlinear time for you. Be careful if you’re coming from a realm based in linear time. You could easily leave one moment only to come back a hundred years later by complete accident.”
Razor nodded in support of Tusk. “He’s got a point, Mizuki.”
She took a second to ease her nerves. It did not work. “Okay, FINE! I’ll just go with you on your quest then!”
Tusk approached her calmly. “Easy, Mizuki. Let’s get to Droomopolis where you’ll be able to rest and get your bearings. Then we’ll figure out what to do. Sounds cool?”
Mizuki wanted to stay angry and protest, but she could not. She could tell Tusk had been through a lot in life and that he had her best interests in mind. “Alright…”
“Don’t worry, Mizuki, it’ll all work out. Say, if your demon lord is dead, do you want to join the ULTRAMagic Guild?”
“The ULTRAMagic Guild?” she questioned.
“Yes. Blood is getting together a bunch of mages like us to help keep the Unlight safe. I’ll be out and about, but I’ll be sure to send any ULTRAMagic mages I find his way.”
That sounded quite inviting. “And Blood-Wraith will be the leader of this guild?”
“Well a leader. Deimos is going to track down Tiberius Skull and Alexia Lavoie to also lead the guild.”
“Hey, Tusk?” Razor jumped in. “Can I join too?”
“Well of course you can!” Tusk cried. “Jeez, kid, what did you think I was going to do after this is all said and done? Send you to babysit my niece?”
Razor chuckled. “Sorry, stupid question.”
Tusk then noticed another sign post that was slightly off. Specifically it was pointing in the wrong direction. It shone in the afternoon sunlight once corrected, despite the metal being quite aged and rusted. The two could see Tusk getting excited.
“In the Realm of Chaos, you want your signs to be pointing in the right direction” the treeman eagerly pointed out. “Now come on, Droomopolis ain’t too far away.”
The trio picked up the pace as they passed by more hills and rock formations. As they traveled further, things became more civilized looking. The only strange thing was that any structure they passed by at a certain point looked techno-organic, but even that did not fully capture the nuances of the aesthetic in question. Regardless, the excitement was building as they passed by occasional houses along the countryside.
Passing by a great set of ruins full of floating platforms, the group noticed something was off. They could hear the sounds of clashes and fighting. Quietly climbing the outer wall, they peered inwards while being as silent as possible. At the center of a giant, stone arena were what looked like a demon and a dragon fighting someone.
“Any thoughts, Tusk?” Razor asked in a hushed tone as they hid amongst the large rubble.
“Hmm… The demon in the black and red jester clothes is most likely a devil. The Dragon? He’s a jabberwock, no two ways about it.”
“A jabberwock?” Mizuki was incredibly weirded out by the creature.
“They’re semi-bipedal, flat faced dragons” Tusk answered. “Native to the Realm of Chaos, they’re not common, but certainly powerful. Now as for the guy in the grisly, red armor? I want to see if they confirm my suspicions.”
Over at the fight, the devil was unleashing a flurry of slashes from his dual blades with his enemy doing his best to dodge them. “Well you’re awfully nimble today, Karnage!”
“Mayhem, jump!” the jabberwock called out. Once he had a clear shot, he unleashed a torrent of plasma at Karnage.
The warrior created a shield made of a gruesome, red mass to block the blast. He then noticed Mayhem spinning down towards him in a buzzsaw motion, enveloped in blue and gold flames. “Ha, clever, but not good enough!” Karnage snarled.
Karnage leapt up, rearing his fist towards Mayhem. The devil noticed the attack, but could not respond to it effectively. To combat this, the jabberwock took off, flying in between the two. He caught Mayhem on his back and smacked Karnage to the ground with a swift flick of his tail. The sound of their foe hitting the arena floor was satisfying.
“Thanks for the save, Dragutin!” Mayhem said as he regained his bearings.
“Don’t mention it. I honestly thought we had him that time.”
Karnage was picking himself up as Dragutin landed and let Mayhem down. “Well played…” Karnage growled, clearly tainted by the venom of his anger.
“Uh oh, I think the general is angry” Mayhem taunted as he and Dragutin walked over.
“Bold of you to be out here, Karnage!” Dragutin pointed out. “Discordant War won’t save you if the Arbiters find out what you’re doing.”
“You are arrogant to assume I come here aimlessly, wyrmling…” Karnage could tell that he had offended Dragutin and smiled. “And even if the Arbiters come after me, they’ll just go after that blowhard Wulfric, making my work all the more easier.”
Mayhem pointed a blade at Karnage. “Then if he shall fall, I’ll take his place and kick you into the nearest pit!”
Karnage glared at him with utmost malice. “Petulant little whelp. You won’t be laughing when I get my hands on ULTRAMagic…” he then noticed some rustling at the upper levels of the arena. A maniacal grin stretched across his face. “How intriguing…” Karnage then sank into a rumbling, screaming vortex and vanished from the arena.
Mayhem sighed and put his blades away. “Sometimes I really wish Discordant War would just toss him into a pit of fiery spikes…”
Dragutin readied his leathery wings. “I must concur, Mayhem. Come, we need to tell Ealdhelm about this.”
“What about our audience over there?”
“Leave them be. If they’re heading towards Droomopolis, we’ll surely meet them there.”
“Alright then” Mayhem said as he hopped up on Dragutin’s back. “See you guys in the city!” He called out as they took off.
Once the two were gone, Tusk stuck his head up to see if the coast was clear. “Alright, we’re good,” he said as he sat down on a large brick.
“What was that, Tusk?” Razor wondered as he and Mizuki came out of their hiding spots.
“No doubt about it; that was General Karnage, Wulfric’s champion. He’s always up to no good, even back when I was training with the Arbiters.”
“Do we have any idea on what he wants? Given that he mentioned ULTRAMagic…”
“No idea, or at least, no idea at the moment.” Tusk looked incredibly concerned.
“Well surely the Arbiters can handle him, right?” Mizuki tried to reassure him.
Tusk shifted on his brick. “Yes, but it is the fact that he’s plotting in the first place that has me worried. It’s never a good sign when he’s up to something. His mere existence is never a good sign in the first place.” The treeman groaned and stood up. “I wish Cynneberht was here. He studies these kinds of tactics and whatnot.” He then led Razor and Mizuki back to the road.
Cutting the sight-seeing, Tusk and his companions quickly made their way to Droomopolis. The towering, imposing city was truly a sight to behold. All of it was made of a strange, techno-organic metal that seemed to be alive. Impossible towers were surrounded by great walls that kept the city safe from the unpredictability of the Realm of Chaos. Inside the walls it was a fairly normal city. It had all the hallmarks of the realm, but also a degree of structure and order to it. An eclectic collection of people from all walks of life were going about their daily lives and minding their own business.
Tusk was overwhelmed with happy nostalgia as he pointed out the sights and locations to Razor and Mizuki. Despite Mizuki having been on a quest to avenge her people, Tusk’s joy was infectious. She could not help but smile under her mask. Razor was amazed by the city regardless of the reason they were there. It was awe inspiring and he wanted to explore every inch of the city so he could see all that was possible. Upon walking past a food cart, someone called out to Tusk.
“Well I’ll be damned, Tusk Willfort!” The man had four arms, well kept hair, and appeared to be running a hot dog stand.
“Mr. Lyon, good to see you again! What’s all this? Did the restaurant not take off?”
“Things got a little delayed, so this is a side gig I’m on just to have a little extra spending money here and there” he replied as he began preparing some food. “I’ll concede that I got kind of hooked on this. You've been away for so long. What brings you back on this fine day?”
“Well to put it simply, Ealdhelm needs help and I’ve been sitting on my roots for too long. Oh, Mr. Lyon, these are my traveling buddies, Razor and Mizuki. Razor is Magnus’ son that I’m mentoring at the moment and Mizuki is a warrior we picked up on the road.”
After an exchange of greetings, Mr. Lyon handed each of them a hot dog. “On the house, guys. Welcome back, Tusk” he said as the two shook hands.
“Great to be back.”
“Thanks, Mr. Lyon” said Razor. “I’ll be sure to come around later and buy something.”
“Itadakimasu, Mr. Lyon,” Mizuki thanked as they walked away.
“He’s nice. I like him,” Razor stated in between bites of his food.
Tusk nodded. “Hank has always been a great people-person. Super polite and welcoming, he knows how to treat you and win you over as a regular customer. I’m shocked he hasn’t gotten his diner fully off the ground yet.”
“Some things take time,” Mizuki replied. “A lake isn’t formed in a day.”
“So where are we heading next, Tusk?” Razor inquired.
He finished his hot dog, wiped his face, and threw his trash in a garbage can. “City Hall. I have no doubt that the Arbiters are there. Ooh, I can’t wait to see Ealdhelm and the others again!”

Close call tonight, Journal. I can’t believe I allowed myself to put my only best friend at risk over all this Danfalo business. I didn’t mean to drag Kyni into anything dangerous. Had he gotten hurt…I don’t think I could have forgiven myself. With all the time we've spent together as of late, long buried feelings have certainly been rekindled within me for him. I wonder if he's been feeling the same way?
After my last writing I didn’t manage to take even two stealthy steps outside of the house before Kyni busted me and asked where I was heading. He was waiting right there in the yard as if he was on sentry duty or something. I bet he thinks someone will actually try to make off with his cannon…oh Kyni. With my lance in-hand and chainmail donned, it was more than obvious to him that I was up to something. I didn’t want to concern him, so I decided it was best to allow him to tag along.
The levequest from the guild had us both heading just south of Idylshire to one of the houses there. The posting didn’t tip us off to anything more than that, so we knew we might be taking our chances by heading there. I just didn’t know how much.
Right as Kyni knocked on the door a shot rang out from the sharpshooter within. Luckily the blast pinged harmlessly off of Kyni’s pauldron, and the situation quickly diffused as the Goblin saw me brandishing his card in-hand. We learned that many adventurers had come to try to collect on the high paying job, but none yet had returned alive to tell the tale. Kyni…did not seem as eager as I was to take on the quest anymore, and I grew worried we might not be completing the job together after all. But as it always does, the protector in the Hrothgar prevailed, and together we made our way via chocobo over a far summit, and found ourselves standing at the bottom of a large iced-cavern.
Our task was to claim a jewel that the Goblin wanted for whatever gobliny-thing he needed it for. With no jewels sitting out in the open, it was Kyni who discovered one glistening from deep within the ice. That jewel though…was set within the chest of a large tusked-beast that stood at least 20 fulms high! The creature…appeared to be long since dead though – so I began to dig, and Kyni followed suit.
Without warning two massive wings broke through the ice, sending the wall flying in a spray of chill and chunks! The massive sea lion was not only alive, but the jewel we needed was housed within the creature’s chest. The battle…was sore. Winged and ice-magicked attacks seemed to come at us based on the color of the beast’s gem. Had I not had Kyni with me and a few spare potions, we might have perished in that cave like all the other adventurers who made the attempt before us. But together, we stood triumphantly as the beast was felled and we claimed our prize for the guild.
Afterwards, I traveled back to Mist with Kyni so he wouldn’t see where I was about to head off to. I told him I would turn the jewel into the guild, and I am. I’m heading there now. After that I’ll make my way to Kugane and see my dear old friend and find out what’s going on. I should probably leave this armor on though…just in case some sort of trap is laying in wait. I sure hope nothing springs…
Farewell

I'd like to answer this question with three of my characters from my series ULTRAMagic Alternate, each in 3 series I like.
Will - Artemis Fowl (Post book 1, pre book 4)
Will is a dullahan who wouldn't be sure how to react. Thanks to being a part of the ULTRAMagic Guild, he's gotten into the habit of visiting other universes. He'd initially be confused as the universe of Artemis Fowl is unassuming at first glance. Inevitably he would get noticed by the LEPrecon (Dullahans are considered fairies after all). While he'd probably not been keen on being bossed around by Julius Root, he would be fascinated by the fairy folk and their underground civilization.
As for Artemis himself, it depends on if he actually found out about Will. Will's fairly intellectual when he wants to be, so he would have a fair chance of getting along with Artemis. Of course Artemis would want to know more about Will upon finding out he's from another universe, so I can only imagine the hijinks that would ensue. If Artemis could convince him, Will would probably join him on one of his escapades.
Blood-Wraith Andrew Raynot - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Blood-Wraith, at only a month old, was reading a book that was very similar to the series (you could argue it was The Unlight counterpart of Douglas Adams' work). Blood would actually be fairly enthusiastic to meet Arthur Dent and would want to help him out. The Heart of Gold would also fascinate him to no end. As for the Vogons, they would confuse and mildly infuriate Blood. While he would recognize that they are doing their job, the rampant bureaucracy would drive him up a wall.
As an aside, he would absolutely love to eat at Milliways, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Blood was born in The Unlight, so he doesn't have an irrational fear of the universe ending. He would love to see it in action and would bring his friends and family along for a good meal.
Tusk Anderson Willfort - Deltora Quest
Alright, quick side note: I've only watched the anime that aired on The Hub and read Dragons of Deltora. I have an omnibus of the original books, I just need to set aside time to read it.
Tusk is a tree person from The Unending Forest in The Unlight. He goes on expeditions all over the Cosmos, so there is a good chance he would stumble into Deltora Quest. Upon learning about Leif and Barda's quest, he would join them, no two ways about it. Given that Tusk is an alchemist, he would no doubt be of great help to them. As for how Tusk would react, he would be appalled by the current state of the Deltora Quest world and would want to help fix it. He wouldn't be thrilled about having to get his hands dirty, but it would be a small price to pay to save a kingdom.
56th day of the 365 Days Of Character Development writing game! Basically how it works is that each day, we use (with permission, of course) a question from my friend's book on character development to get our creative juices flowing! If you like this game, I recommend buying the book to support an independent creator!
Here's today's question:
I'll be answering for the main characters of my liminal space otome game Romance The Backrooms. I’d love to hear the answer to the prompt for your characters—reply, reblog, and/or make your own post (and give me the link, because I’d love to see it!).
The only one I can answer this question for is Carla, so:
Carla (the main character)’s favorite book growing up was one her grandmother read to her: The Hobbit. If she was transported to the world of LOTR, she would be very excited, and see if she can join Bilbo and the others on their quest.

I just learned that a record size male tetsucabra that i captured a few months ago is set to be used in the arena in a few days.
The documents said that it was catch and release. The guild lady assured me that it was only going to be studied, tagged and released. I even went the extra way to avoid breaking his tusks or wounding him with my weapon.
And now i learn that its gonna be put in the ring along another tetsucabra to be slaughtered by some hunters.
Why?
... Did you get her name? The hall that she worked in? Quest specifics? Monster tag?
I have a mind to pay her a visit. I'll have Leo track down the Tetsucabra.
-Oleander
Yeah we found the Tetsucabras. Wasn’t hard when I heard “The Guild Tent set up as emergency protocols.”
We don’t have those.
The “pop up emergency guild halls” you hear of are never official, never legislated, and never condoned.
They have the uniforms, the sigils and the stamps we use in official work - but they use a different type of beetle ink because the beetles used by the Guild are bred in an undisclosed location and are one of a kind. They’re very convincing and sadly this happens quite often after thefts within the Guild that contain uniforms, sigils, paperwork, etc, etc. But they never get the ink right.
If you’re curious about the states of the Tetsucabra - They’re both in sanctuary care now. Not with us but with a sister sanctuary in Tanzia. From what I’ve heard the two are in pretty good condition and are fit for release in the next two weeks.
Didn’t even need to send Oleander out after this one either, once you gave the location I just had to alert the actual Guild.

Good ideas anon here with what i hope is a good idea
Xingyun monster au: hunter xingqiu who yields from a prestigious, famous monster hunting clan and monster chongyun who's only allowed to live to help serve said clan as xingqiu's... familiar? Assistant? Whatever
I can imagine they met when they were but wee lads - maybe yun was trapped in a snare and qiu managed to get him out and fret over him and drag him back to the guild. Yun almost getting immediately chased out despite his injuries if not for the fact that xingqiu relentlessly defends and advocates for him to at least get medical attention, and proceeds to somehow convince his father to let yun stay.
Yun being insanely loyal to xingqiu because he not only saved him but treats him as a friend and equal ( in private at the very least ). Accompanying him on adventures and also going on solo quests to retrieve resources or information for him.
Xingqiu considering yun to be his dearest friend ( because he is, he's been there through it all with him ) despite his designation as a monster and spoiling him amidst all the teasing and pranks. Probably fascinated with his features too - horns maybe? Little teef tusks? A bit of extra fluff? A tail, even? Hes very touchy with them all and flusters yun to no end
I dont think yun can talk too well in this au ( either because of his heritage or the snare did some serious damage to his vocal chords ) which just supports the general consensus of him showing all his affection through actions through words. Also imagine him purring. Deep rumbly noise thats broken up occasionally but still amazing to listen to. Tasty.
I'd also love to proposition some angst related to this : chongyun being sent to investigate something and ending up trapped in a neck snare just like all those years ago. Trying desperately to free himself to the point the wire cuts into his throat until it finally sets in that he's trapped, he's stuck in the woods bleeding and its likely not going to end well for him. Trying not to get stressed out from those memories of being trapped as a little child and the fact he can't breathe like this, how small dots are dancing on the edge of his vision and he'll likely pass out soon from the lack of air.
Hes supposed to return in a couple days, so he knows he likely won't be found anytime soon. And worst case scenario, he thinks, Xingqiu will assume he just ran away without any warning. What a strenuous situation lol
OKAY. OKAY. i swear i saw a fic like that once, minus the entire horrifying premise. it was a werewolf (?) chongyun with xingqiu and they fight (?) spirits in liyue as a pair, and chongyun might have chased a cat around wanwin while in wolf form. yes.
but this au.......... angsty. i sure hope xingqiu realises what happened to his poor yunyun. give him some good old comfort :(

Warring Kingdoms
S rank Druid, S rank Hunter, S rank Ranger Wood Elf Queen Ashryn Genmaris:
Ashryn Genmaris is an S rank druid, hunter, & ranger. Some hunters choose to hunt the wilderness in solitude chasing prey for days, weeks, & months, then they wait for hours for the ideal chance to present itself to them. They as snipers though armed with modern compound sophisticated complex bows with scopes, scoped crossbows, archaic plain wood composite traditional bows, or scoped and silenced ten shot lever action ten gauge repeating rifles are hunters who live for the accurate shot. They instead choose to attack beings, monsters, people, beast, humanoid, or creature that never saw the bullet, metal arrow, or crossbow bolt coming. They travel anywhere the need guides them fighting those who would vandalize the wilds. They are skilled in woodcraft and stealth allowing them to range ahead of their cohorts on their voyage during quests. They are at home in the wilds among other druids, other hunters, & other rangers as they serve as the eyes and ears of war bands across the planet. They are accomplished at surviving in the wilds. They are hunters who hunt animals for survival and food. They are hunters who hunt beasts, creatures, & monsters for credit, trophies, leisure, & money. They hunt to protect society and the wild from these dangerous beasts, creatures, & monsters. They know how to use the fur, pelts, hide, scales, claws, teeth, horns, tusks, fangs, & saber teeth from the beasts, monsters, & creatures that they hunt for the most they can get out of them and trade them for twice or three times the normal value. They know how to utilize every part of the animals that they hunt and know how to exploit their hide and pelts to camouflage like them. They enjoy the easy and minimal life of hunting. They use every part of the kill and do not waste any part of what they hunt. They have a deep respect and admiration for nature and believe nature is sacred. They will kill creatures, monsters, & beasts that are an unnatural affront and insult to nature since they are created by dark and forbidden magic. The animals that they kill help them live and they thank them for their sacrifice and say thanks to the spirits of the forests. They feel a fellowship and bond with fellow hunters, druids, & rangers. They have faced intruding evil from monsters, creatures, & beasts. They have faced intruding evil from avaricious and voracious homo magi, humans, vampires, etc. Even in places where they don’t know the exact features of the land they know the way of the wild. They have an excellent memory for maps and geography and they can always evoke the general arrangement of land, villages, & other features around them. Also they can find food and fresh water for themselves and their team provided that the land offers fruits, game, vegetables, water, and so forth. Ashryn Genmaris was born in the wilderness and later joined a company in the military organization as a scout. She was an explorer who journeyed into the wilds to find out what was there. The guild party and adventuring party who she traveled with hired her as a wilderness guide to help them survive in the forest, to navigate through a desert, to help them survive a swamp, to climb to the top of a mountain, & to hunt in the arctic tundra. That is how she became friends with her party. As a druid she is of the old faith that wields the powers of nature and adopts animal forms. Far from the hustle and bustle of metropolises and settlements, past the fences that protect the most outlying ranches from the horrors of the wild, among the thick crowded tress of forests, & across broad and bare plains. She as a ranger keeps her eternal watch as a sentinel of the wilds. She is a ranger who is a warrior of the wilds. She as a ranger who is a hunter and stalker specializes in stalking and killing the monsters, beasts, & creatures that threaten the boundaries of society. These can be humanoid raiders. These can be charging beasts, creatures, & monsters such as manticore, hydra, chimera, basilisk, etc. They can be appalling and tarrying imps, goblins, trolls, orcs, ogres, & cyclops. They can be lethal wyverns, drakes, & dragons. She learned to pursue her prey as a predator does and so she moves carefully and silently through the wilds and cities and hiding herself in brush or the darkness. She focuses her combat training on techniques that are very practical against her precise favored enemies. Thanks to her knowledge with the wilds she acquired the skill to cast spells that control nature’s authority much as a druid does. Her spells like her combat skills highlight swiftness, stealth, flexibility, dexterity, & the hunt. Her powers and skills are sharpened with lethal focus on the harsh task of protecting the borderlands. The numbers of her secret society or order are many but no one knows the sneaky and lethal members of this clandestine organization. Her area of expertise is to sneak near an enemy silently and to kill them from a safe distance. She seems to be moving shadows as sometimes not even an arrow or bullet is found in the corpses of their fatalities. Actually she is linked to the shadows and uses her abilities to form them as she wishes. To become part of this elite group she must have had lethal precise aim and must have been eager to totally dedicate herself to becoming a shadow ranger. To become a successful shadow archer the training is painstaking, demanding, & even severe but the rewards of becoming one of the best archers out there are well worth the try. These are dangerous opponents intermixing swiftness, covertness and high level esoteric casting. Members of this secretive order are the only craftsmen cable of making a multitude of exceptional, distinctive, formidable, & special magic items. As masters of different martial arts these are graceful killers each assassinating nearly devoid of exertion. Each shadow ranger is a master of seven martial arts and each one contrasts in technique and swiftness, going from the deliberate spherical steps to the abrupt furious strikes. Though she as a ranger might make a living as a hunter, an escort, or a tracker her true calling as a ranger is to protect the border of society from the ravages of beasts, creatures, & monsters and humanoid hordes that press in from the wild. She as a ranger has gathered in secretive organizations and has joined forces with druidic circles. She as a ranger is autonomous almost to a liability knowing that when a dragon or a group of orcs and trolls attack a ranger might be the first and maybe the last line of defense. This intense sovereignty makes her a ranger suitable to adventuring since she is familiarized to life far from the comforts of a dry cot and a hot bath. When faced with city bred adventurers who grumble and complain about the suffering of the wild these rangers respond with some combination of enjoyment, irritation, and sympathy. But they rapidly learn that other adventurers who can carry their own burden in a fight against society’s foes are worth any extra encumbers. Pampered city folk might not know how to feed themselves or find clean water in the wild but they make up for it in other ways. She was self-taught as a loner who learned combat expertise, hunting, and even a supernatural, spiritual, & magical relationship to the natural world through the need of existing in the wilds. She was then trained with two teachers traveling the wilderness together until she mastered the female ranger’s and male druid’s ways. She then left their apprenticeship. She later honed and perfected her abilities and expertise as part of a group of rangers united with a druidic circle that were trained in mystical and spiritual paths and wilderness teachings and wisdom. Her adventuring job in her guild party and adventuring party of Lysander Norwood’s guild order is a prolongation of her work in defending the wild. She joined a band of adventurers and a guild because they found it stimulating to teach new partners the ways of the wild and she appreciated the relief from isolation and loneliness that they offered.
Ashryn Genmaris as a druid is a defender of animals, nature, & the consecrated spaces of the universe. She as a druid is a personification of nature’s resilience, craftiness, and rage whether she calls on the elemental forces of life or copying the creatures of the animal world. She asserts no mastery over nature. Instead, she sees herself as an extension of nature’s resolute spirit. She as a druid venerates the natural world above all gaining her enchantment and other magical powers both from the force of nature itself. Her young sibling gained his augmentation and other arcane powers from a nature god of the old gods. Ashryn Genmaris as a druid chases a shaman mysticism of transcendent union with nature rather than fidelity to a divine entity. Ashryn’s brother Nasir as a druid and ranger serves gods of feral nature, animals, & elemental forces. Ashryn and Nasir as druids are mystics and sages of the wild teaching others how to be one with nature and how to harness the natural energy of the world and augment their magical attacks with nature energy. The primordial druidic customs are called the Old Faith quite the opposite to the veneration of gods in temples and shrines. Their druid spells are leaning toward nature and animals such as the power of fang, teeth, canine, claw, & saber teeth. Their druid spells are leaning toward nature and animals such as the power of the sun, the earth, the skies, the seas, & the moon. Their druid spells are leaning toward nature and animals such as the power of fire, magma, lava, water, ice, frost, snow, wood, earth, nature, stone, sand, wind, thunder, lightning, & storm. They as druids also achieve the capability to take on animal forms. They as druids can shapeshift into alligators, badgers, bats, bears, birds, a shadow cat, chameleons, cheetahs, cougars, coyotes, crows, deer, dogs, dolphins, doves, eagles, fish, foxes, hawks, horses, lions, lizards, otters, owls, sharks, snakes, spiders, tigers, turtles, weasels, whales, & wolves. For them as druids life exists in an insecure equilibrium. The many elements that make up the world such as wind, lightning, thunder, earth, wood, nature, fire, lava, magma, water, snow, frost, & ice must remain in symmetry. If one element were to achieve supremacy over the others the world could be destroyed drawn into one of the elemental planes and broken apart into its piece elements. Thus they as druids oppose cults and others who advance one element to the exception of others. They as druids are also worried about the fragile natural equilibrium that maintains and supports plant and animal life and the need for civilized folk to live in synchronization with nature not in hostility to it. They as druids accept that which is malicious in nature and they detest that which is unnatural including monsters, beasts, creatures, and undead (such as zombies and ghouls). They as druids occasionally lead attacks against such beasts particularly when the monsters trespass on the druid’s land. They as druids are frequently found defending sanctified sites or watching over areas of youthful nature but when a considerable threat arise threatening nature’s equilibrium or the lands they defend they take on a more dynamic position in fighting the danger as adventurers. They have such a close relationship with the natural world because they live in a civilization where the old faiths still flourish. Ashryn Genmaris later had a dramatic encounter with the spirits of nature surviving the incident. Being a fortune hunter was always part of her druidic calling but she first spent time as a warden of a consecrated grove or blessed spring.
Ashryn Genmaris as an arcane druid and ranger studies an exclusive elven technique of archery that intertwines magic into attacks to create mystical effects. Among high elves she is one of their most elite warriors. They stand watch over the borders of elven provinces and the wood, night, blood, & high elven kingdoms keeping a dedicated vigilant eye out for intruders and using magic infused arrows to defeat beasts, creatures, monsters and raiders before they can reach elven towns and villages. Over the decades, centuries, & millennia the technique of these elf archers have been learned by members of other races who can also balance arcane skill with archery. She as a ranger and druid seeks to master weapons to better defend society from the terrors of the wilds such as beasts, monsters, & creatures and the horde of imps, goblins, hobgoblins, trolls, & orcs. She has learned focused fighting skills for use against the urgent and terrible of threats from charging cyclops and ogres and hordes of imps and goblins to gigantic trolls and orcs and frightening dragons. Elves live long lives learning gradually but with great expertise. Many elves take up archery or wizardry as an art and many still become great rangers or wizards in their own right but few are as talented at marrying the two as the esoteric ranger. Esoteric rangers are characteristically elves that have been educated with magic and elven longbows, primitive wooden composite bows, or modern compound bows with scopes all their lives. She as an esoteric ranger is a feared warrior on the battlefield skilled at permeating her ammo with magical properties and even casting spells through her bullets and arrows.

Solo Leveling manhwa
The awesomeness that is Solo Leveling just updated!!!
It gives me life every Wednesday, but Cliffhanger no.76 is killing me,,,just when I thought these nasty cliffhangers won’t plague my dreams ;-;
Sung Jin-Woo is a OP BAMF now, and next chapter I’m about to see him end Lee Min-Sung’s whole career!!! The White Tiger Guild, the Hunters Guild, the Association, and the Yoo-Jin Guild all have their hungry eyes on him, famous-actor-turned-A-rank-hunter be damned. It’s pathetically insignificant when compared to Jin-Woo’s rank which surpasses that of S-Rank. Of course, this is not some commonplace isekai where MCs straightaway attain the highest level of power/magic. It came with EFFORT! Fantastic illustration, brilliant plot, best manhwa of the century!!
Looking extremely forward to the next arc!!!
As of current:
Hunter Sung Jin-Woo is his own tank, healer, dps, and an accomplished Necromancer. Immune to all spells and poisons. (unlocked Unlimited Drinks Works) Strengthened by a variety of skills. Holds many Titles that can aid him when facing different opponents.
Contracted:
[Shadow Knight] Igris (formerly Blood-Red Commander Igris, Job Change Quest)
[Shadow Knight] Iron (formerly A-rank Hunter Kim Chul)
[Shadow Monster] Tank (formerly Leader of Ice Bears in Red Gate Dungeon)
[Shadow Elite Knight] Tusk (formerly Kargalan, High Orc, boss of Elite A-rank Dungeon)
^^^the above are at least A-rank^^^
the below are at most B-rank
Shadow Knights
Shadow Magicians
Ice Bears
High Orcs
Kin with extensions:
[Younger sister] Sung Jin-Ah
[comatose Mother] Park Kyung-Hye
[Father] Sung Il-Hwan
[Sworn Brother] Yoo Jin-Ho
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, ACTION-PACKED, BADASSERY CONTENT

Shapeshifter Quest Hooks
Here's a list of 50 quest hooks involving creatures from both the Monster Manual and from the content I created during Shapeshifter Week. New creatures have links to the posts that contain their statistics. Existing Monsters can all either change their shape naturally, cast polymorph, or cast disguise self.
Quest Hooks (d100)
| 01-02 | A group of Doppelgangers are getting into trouble all over the city. Everyone wrongly blames the local paladin hero who the Doppelgangers have taken the form of.
| 03-04 | A Therianthrope is capturing and replacing the creatures in a certain city district with younger Therianthropes.
| 05-06 | A covey of Green Hags disguised as three humans have started a bookstore and is selling books that trap their readers in their stories.
| 07-08 | A Doppelganger has taken the place of a town's wizard even though it can't cast spells. Now it has to cleverly imitate the spells that the locals pay for.
| 09-10 | An Oni has taken the form of an innkeeper and is devouring the guests it deems the most "appetizing."
| 11-12 | A Hagunemnon has appeared in a populated city and is massacring citizens like a wildfire. Everyone is in a panic but no one can determine the cause thanks to its ability to shapeshift.
| 13-14 | A Tula Hag's mud creatures, in the shape of parents whose souls she has trapped, are going back to town and bringing their children to her river.
| 15-16 | A kraken is demanding worship from a cliff-side village of Kuo-Toa. The kraken is actually a Doppel-Gang that lives in a cave at the base of the cliff.
| 17-18 | A Monopod has accidentally gotten itself into a situation where a dwarven kingdom thinks it's their lost king. Now it is having the dwarves raid for treasure which it hoards in its new "home."
| 19-20 | Children have started playing relentless pranks throughout a village. When questioned, they all say they got the idea from a talking animal; really a Puca in disguise.
| 21-22 | A Doppelganger has fallen in love with a humanoid and keeps taking new forms in hopes of wooing them, but keeps getting rejected.
| 23-24 | A dwarven guide offers to guide the party through a complex cave system. In truth, it's a Monopod that is leading them to a trap to steal their loot once they are dead.
| 25-26 | A Bouda is posing as a blacksmith in a small village. The items it makes are cursed.
| 27-28 | A damsel in distress is rescued. However, she has been replaced by a Succubus that wishes to take advantage of the damsel's wealthy noble husband.
| 29-30 | A hunter has offered the PCs the chance to hunt a powerful monster in return for gold. In truth, the hunter is a Weretiger that wishes to hunt them.
| 31-32 | A Sea Hag pretends to be a woman trapped on a desert island, flagging down passing ships and offering them a tropical banquet laced with Midnight Tears.
| 33-34 | A Swarm Shifter is "bugging" the offices of diplomats, and is blackmailing them using the information it has gathered.
| 35-36 | A magic item's blueprint calls for a certain type of flower. It turns out that the flower described is actually a Blodeuwedd that knows the secrets of the item's creation.
| 37-38 | A Doppelganger is using its talents to lift heavy pockets and get away clean.
| 39-40 | A Phasm has killed all the monsters in a dungeon in order to pretend to be all of the monsters by itself. As heroes "slay" one monster, it retreats in the form of a ghost only to impersonate the next monster that would have been in the next room.
| 41-42 | A Quasit has decided to convince young women that he is a prince disguised as a toad, and they need only to kiss him to return him to his true form.
| 43-44 | A Werebear has snuck into the ranks of a military encampment in the forest. Angry at the newcomers in its territory, it is picking off the soldiers one by one.
| 45-46 | Creatures travelling a certain road report strange surreal sightings or experiences. A Puca is to blame.
| 47-48 | A Green Slaad disguised as a dwarf mage is looking for the control gem of a Gray Slaad who hid it within a lost dwarven mine. It intends to use the gem to force the Gray Slaad to reveal its secrets of ascension.
| 49-50 | A Deva has taken the guise of a street urchin to investigate an evil cult growing in a city.
| 51-52 | A Couatl senses its impending death and seeks out another Couatl to mate with in a dangerous land. Disguised as an elven druid, it looks for heroes to help find another Couatl.

| 63-64 | A Hamrammyr has found its way near a dragon's lair and is trying to devour more and more powerful creatures until it thinks it can kill the dragon. Powerful monsters' corpses litter the surrounding wilderness.
| 65-66 | A Yochlol has infiltrated a group of drow rebelling against the matriarchy to tries and dismantle the rebellion from within.

| 85-86 | A Rakshasa is selling demon-possessed magic items while disguised as a merchant.
| 87-88 | A Silver Dragon has taken up residence in a town as a kindly old woman who claims to be a historian. Their horde of artifacts is left proudly on display, with surprisingly low security.

| 91-92 | A Mimic ate a moneylender and spawned in their office. A stack of papers is a horde of Mimic Larvae.
| 93-94 | An Ultraloth has taken the guise of a guild leader for a monster hunting company. It's tasking heroes to bring back living monsters which it then sells to evil buyers.
| 95-96 | A farmer's wife was cursed with Werewolf lycanthropy. She tries to keep up her normal life but she awakens each morning next to dead livestock. It's only a matter of time before she turns on her family.

| 99-00 | A strange outhouse keeps appearing for those that need it. In reality, it is a Mimic stalking its prey.

Before the Storm
Okay so first things first before I even get my character properly dressed in this episodes gear I found myself attacked by some hired thugs outside the farmhouse. Luckily it was easily dealt with by Uthgerd and my farm workers as I was not dressed for combat. It turned out that the reason they attacked me was because of all that stuff I stole from the warehouse last time
Oops Still at least the chicken got some free entertainment
so first up after I got myself properly dressed I went back to Riften to talk with Tonilia about swapping out a piece of gear
before heading off to Riverwood to talk to Alvor about the events of Helgen that happened (checks watch) four in game months ago now. Sorry about the wait dude
I then made sure to take as much gear as possible from him and his shop to sell back later. (Which is how I got some of the new stuff own below ) I then set off towards Whiterun to start the quest properly
It was as I was riding that I decided to split the next quest Bleak falls Barrow into two as the current quest is rather short and Dragon Rising which happens after the Bleak falls quest is one that I always felt couldn't be put off. And so I decided that going through the dungeon and collecting the Dragonstone would be done this time and actually delivering it would be done the next time the main questline is chosen. Carrying on I quickly made it to Whiterun where I discoverd Dragonsreach
and met Irileth and the dialogue proceeded as follows
Before talking to the Jarl
After which the normal conversation between the Jarl, Irileth and Proventus happened. I just stayed nearby and spun the camera around waiting for it to end and I could go talk to Farengar and get the next quest objective.
Next I set off to Bleak Falls where I found a Frost troll along the path
Lovely Until finally reaching the dungeon itself.
My companions and I made quick work of the bandits around the entrance and we found our self swiftly racing through the dungeon. Although I did stop to watch the bandit kill himself in the puzzle room
Classic. The only things of note along the way to the word wall room was cutting down (well firebolting down) Arvel and then killing him before he could run away and get killed by a dragur. Why let the exp for killing him go to waste. And reading his journel
The next interesting part would be the claw puzzle which was as easy as ever
Before the final boss fight with the dragur overlord that was remarkably easy with three combatants (I didn't even use Undying ghost for this fight it went by that quickly). I then nabbed the Dragonstone and left the barrow thus ending this episode

Forsworn Staff of Flames (A gout of fire that does 8 points per second. Targets on fire take extra damage)
Staff of Calm (Creatures and people up to level 8 won't fight for 30 seconds)
Staff of Frostbite (A blast of cold that does 8 points of damage per second to Health and Stamina)
When polling please be aware bows and two handed weapons will be included in the right hand poll while crossbows, staffs and shields are in the left. Also I have decided to implement a rule where if an option is chosen twice in a row for the next two polls it will be left out of rotation. This is to help to encourage us to mix up what we do a bit more.

Erai'hym Character and Race Guide
Kotaphira Havanne - Derhanish (half Elfirrin)
Named after the founder of the city Maerise in the country Derhan. From the hold called Whitepeak, she is on a quest to establish herself as an important member of the Derhanish knights based on her own merit and not inheritance. Nicknames include Phira, Grapes, and Twobits.
Ayler Havanne - Derhanish (human)
Half brother to Kotaphira Havanne, intent on proving himself through his own means, no matter the cost. Also from Whitepeak, served in the same squadron as his half sister Kotaphira. Nicknames include Lyre, Clouds, and Threebits.
Laranen Relt - Jenyae
A wandering merchant and showman, she is native to the volcanic jungles of Firastrous. Having met many and important people, she has picked up many valuable pieces of artifacts- and information.
Sir Bicroy - Derhanish (human)
From Whitepeak, he leads the squadron called Ninebits. From this squadron come Kotaphira and Ayler Havanne.
Kotaphira Arculum - Derhanish (half Elfirrin)
Founder of the free city Maerise in the wartorn country of Derhan, Kotaphira is perhaps the oldest member of their society. Still sitting on the council, she advises most of the important ongoings and oversees the military higher-ups. Through her influence, she has conducted many peace treaties, talks, and negotiations- even if half of them were for her own gain.
Mind riddled with constant anxiety and chatter from an unknown relic's influence, she struggles with making sound decisions and formulated opinions based on self interest instead of as seeing the larger picture. Despite having many children over the years (Taskell, Samund, Perine, Baloren, Aress, Jaesin, and Maeldrid) she is not known for her close knit familial ties. Titles include Lady Doe, Madame Kota, and Dragon Queller.
Rinlear Moban - Derhanish (human undead)
Once called brother to Kotaphira Arculum, the two were raised together in the small logging town Daelen, west of Derhan in the mountains. Dreaming of a peaceful and academic future, he established a university called “The College” nearby to encourage magical teachings to all, as a safe haven for whoever was fleeing any sort of persecution.
In the Battle of Laves, he almost lost his life protecting his best friends. A wicked and strange necromancer from the country Arc'hilde captured him and did extensive experimentation on him, attempting to create a sort of vial to hold magical essences of others. It backfired, and Rinlear became a consumer of magical essences instead- which caused his body to rot but still be held together.
Echertai Omos - Derhanish (human)
Lover to Kotaphira Arculum in her younger years and best friend to Rinlear, the three had worked together to bring their dream of a free and welcoming country to fruition. He established trade routes, invitations from other countries at the threat of war, and set up holds around the country of Derhan to ensure safety to the civilians. During the Battle of Laves, he sacrificed himself to save Kotaphira, having followed her own self serving orders at the risk of destroying the newly founded city of Maerise at the hands of Arc’hilde.
Taskell Omos - Derhanish (quarter Elfirrin)
Son to Kotaphira Arculum and Echertai Omos, Taskell is 200 years old and has long since grown past a serious and ‘old’ demeanor, despite his reputation for having once been a sour a cynical man. Having taken up parkour in the past 50 years, he is well adept at scaling, climbing, and leaping. Having served in the military and tried his hand at sitting on the council, he’s given that up to be more of a snoop; sneaking around and learning everyone’s secrets to spread rumors for fun. An all around easy going guy and jokester/prankster, he enjoys his time learning and messing with others. Titles and nicknames include: Sir Brightsword, Kellman, and Quidnunc.
Samund Miras - Derhanish (quarter Elfirrin)
Younger half-brother (Kotaphira Arculum being his mother as well) to Taskell by about 70 years, Samund is studious and somber. Having recently been assigned to the city council for public finance, he takes his job seriously, though gives the other council members a hard time in reminding them the costs of things.
He and Taskell aren’t on the best of terms, but they tolerate each other at dinner functions and other public meetings. After the death of their younger half-sister Perine, the two brothers drifted apart and never fully healed the chasm between them. Titles and nicknames include: Sir Hardoc, Miramira (by Taskell only), and Councilman Miras.
Kemryn Sebuho - Derhanish (half Elfirrin)
One of the youngest and brightest of her magical class, Kemryn is in her 8th year at the College. Studying to hone her magical ability of creating wards and channeling magics like water, she has become quite adept in her studying and has caught the eye of Kotaphira Arculum to work directly under her. Kemryn and her sisters (Ia’wori and Sadinah) can use their magical abilities together to create vessels to trap newly released souls (golems basically, but refined). Level headed and quirky, she is still a bit naive but very much open about her ideas on others. Titles and nicknames include: Lady Wardsmith, Lady Pink, and Bunny.
Steirtorim Brighteyes - Derhanish (Trocblood)
A mix of Derhanish human and trocoblin, Steirtorim has a muddled skin color the blend of green and brown. Short tusks protrude from his lower teeth out of his mouth, and his nose is shorter than the average human’s. Because of the commonality of trocbloods now in Maerise (within the past seventy years or so) he’s just now adjusting fully to feeling on more equal grounds to others such as furmen and the Derhanish natives. After the Treaty of Ulpustur, he was assigned to the royal Maerisian Knights, and over the years became captain, serving directly under Kotaphira Arculum. His loyalty and honesty knows no bounds, but this serves as a weakness. Titles and nicknames include: Captain, Sir Changorim, and Steir.
Verusk Alondale - Arc’hildean (Night Elfirrin)
Advisor and brother-in-law to King Selreth of Maerise, Verusk has been working over the past several decades to keep his personal sanity in tact. Lady Kotaphira has irritated him to no end, but he still respects her due to her abilities and serving on the council under him. Verusk is not clueless when it comes to most other’s ongoings and tries to be steps ahead at all times, but he’s not perfect in his attempts. His nephew (Prince Jonvis) is the only one who has caught on to his secret intentions, and seems to be the only one able to keep up or even be steps ahead of him, despite the boy’s much younger age. Titles include: Advisor Alondale, Sir Husk, and Verdant Shadow.
King Selreth - Derhanish (human)
After the Treaty of Ulpustur, Selreth returned with Verusk, Verusk’s sister (Aneela), Steirtorim, and Kotaphira Arculum where he was crowned king by the previous one. Since then, he married (Aneela), and has run the city- and country- to the best of his abilities. A family oriented man, he places his family above the city, much to Kotaphira Arculum’s frustration (and advantage). He is hard headed and logic driven, but he still listens to Kotaphira’s advice given her age, wisdom, and experience with the city. Titles include: Sire, Sir Trell, and Stonenose (by Steirtorim only).
Princess Mylla - Derhanish (half Elfirrin)
Younger sister to (prince Jonvis), she is stubborn and loud. Allowed to do as she pleases, she never had proper restrictions in her upbringing and was quite spoiled. Still, she was loved by all for her beauty and gracefulness, revered almost as a mascot by the Maerisian populace. Her magical ability allows her to absorb any magic aimed at her and return it to the spellcaster, making her ideal to fight in a mage’s battle. However, she has no desire to join the military or College, much more comfortable at parties and balls so she may receive more praise by others. Titles and nicknames include: Princess, Madame Frou, and Sponge (by Jonvis only).
The Boar's Head - (unknown)
Leader of the Thieves’ Guild, The Boar’s Head keeps hidden from everyone, including the guild’s own members. No one knows the age or race of The Boar’s Head, except that they might be a woman. Rumors state ‘she’ is older than the city itself, having lived in caves with ‘her’ pet boar that used to exist underground, and has infiltrated the city after it’s construction to steal from those who had killed her boar. Kotaphira Arculum is the only person from aboveground The Boar’s Head chooses to interact with.

Races:
Human: Derhanish human 'natives’ are dark skinned- they migrated many generations ago from the low deserts of Lutria. Light skinned humans are typically from the country of Arc'hilde. The native humans to the country Firastrous resemble real world Native Americans and South Americans.
Edirthean: From the magical forest called Edirthe (ee dirth ee) come 12 magical tribes of Edite (ee die tee), their powers granted by the love elemental, Loffine. Protectors of the magical well in the center, they keep a precious balance within the forest, but are constantly at war with the trocoblins. They resemble real world mix of Pacific Islanders and Pakistani.
Elfirrin: From Lutria, descendents of the light elemental Leada, natural magic wielders. Elfirrin blood cannot mix with Vessifer or Trocbloods. Lifespan is typically 800 years. Tall, limber, and sharp features set them apart from typical humanoids. Pointed ears make them easily recognizable as Elfirrin.
Sun Elfirrin: Born during the day, they have skin tones that range from yellow/tan to black, hair colors that range from pastels to white, and they cannot venture out at night for long periods of time.
Night Elfirrin: Born at night, they have dark colored hair, and pale skin. They are not restricted to the day time, making them ideal assassins.
Moon Elfirrin: Previously Sun Elves that were transformed by exposure to the light of the moon called Herac'ine (hee rak ine).
Half Elifirrin: Still magically inclined, but their hair color is typically vibrant in hue. Lifespan is halved.
Quarter Elfirrin: Softer hue color for hair, and only slight magical abilities. Lifespan is about 250 years.
Furmen/scalemen/feathermen: From the northern reaches of Ai'ltiem down to the hot sandy deserts of Lutria, to northwest of Derhan, they are tribal and territorial. Bipedal and larger than the average human, each tribe imbues physical traits of animals. They are unable to breed with any other humanoid or race but their own. They are not magically inclined.
Trocoblin: Descendents of the dark elemental Derdia's nightbeasts, these creatures resemble a mix of trolls, orcs, and goblins. Not altogether intelligent, they do have a verbal form of communication. Any magics a troc or Trocblood might have is crude and raw, but not strong.
Trocblood/ trocmutt: A trocblood is any person of trocoblin ancestry. “Trocmutt” is a racial slur. Their skin is tougher than a typical humanoid’s, their intelligence much higher than a trocoblin’s, and they seem to be much more susceptible to magics than any other race or race blend.
Jenyae: Though descendents of the fire elemental Firastra, they are also bound by earthen magics. Limbs are typically transparent, while skin color ranges from yellow to red to green. They are magically inclined and have wish granting abilities (based on the laws of equality), though are known to be clever tricksters who put on colorful, entertaining shows.
Vessifer: From the frozen reaches of Ironmarsh, they are the descendents of the dark elemental Derdia, they were created as a natural enemy to Elfirrin. The Vessifer curse does not dilute if one has a non-Vessifer parent. You either have the curse or you don't (if you don't, then neither parent was Vessifer). The curse activates when under extreme mental or emotional strain, and the Vessifer are very emotional creatures. Normal form is similar to humans, but severely attractive, while their cursed form is of hellish nightmares and individualized based on the person.
Heraghine: From the Vessifer and the love elemental Loffine come a line of special healers that balance the Vessifer's emotional states out. Called the Heraghine (hee ra ine), one is born to a generation. She is always wise, insightful, and has the ability to enter in to the minds of her patients to help quell their suffering. Her method of healing is by encouraging the mind to work on it's own instead of as an invasive force. Some Heraghine are granted a special ability of foresight, though this can greatly affect her mental stability depending on how strong the foresight is.
Aethestian: Descendents of the wind elemental Aerie, these people carry an avian gene, though most lay dormant. In those that are active, they have what resemble wings but they are usually small and pathetic, though greatly revered and decorated. Aethestians resemble real world Asians.
Phaerie: Short creatures that resemble a mix of human and moth or human and plant. Native to the jungles around Arc'hilde, they are simple minded but have a high magical inclination.
Piksie: Tiny beings that emit a magical glow, they are native to the magical forest called Edirthe. Historically they are known for being the cause of wars and the ends of them.
Ulpustur Dragon: From the Ulpustur mountain range in the far Western region of Ironmarsh, the Ulpustur dragons are very large, old, and intelligent beings who study magic, philosophy, and the arts. Despite their cultured ways, they still rely heavily on instincts and the laws of nature. Through extensive magical studies, elder dragons are able to take on crude humanoid forms, but none are perfect.
Cave Dragon: Much smaller than the Ulpustur Dragon, Cave Dragons are seen typically as annoying pests, dwelling within the cave homes of the Ulpustur Dragons.
Akooakae: From the ocean that surround the Eastern parts of the country Arc'hilde come the Akooakae, half humanoid, half sea creatures who emerged in recent times. Worshipping the water elemental Akooa, these beings rely on each other and a female leader to act on their behalf. Matriarchal and vindictive, they are sly creatures but ever curious.

Little things #17
Yes, Varro has met other werecreatures. No, not all of were good - in fact most of them were awful on reflection.
The encounters were as follows:
Werewolf - a noble paladin of a nearby church who was sent out to investigate a case in which a "large rabid beast" was going around killing and eating both people and livestock. Initially thought it to be Varro until he realized (with Quasi's help) that Varro was not in fact crazed and very much just lost.
Wererat - came upon them living underground in the sewers of a far away city. They'd managed to build themselves their own underground city below the surface which turned out to be a large merchent hub for the more magically inclined. The residents above either had no idea they were there or were content to let them be. They'd end up hiring Varro and Quasi on their first ever official fetch quest. They even had their own adventuerer's guild with a quest board and everything it was so cool-
Weretiger - the actual beast who'd been going around killing and eating people. The spirit of a poor man cursed to wander the land in perpetual hunger until Varro, Quasi, and the paladin wolf put them to rest.
Wereboar - Varro and Quasi had taken a quest to get rid of a nearby bandit camp, only to find the bandits were a pack of large and very evil wereboars. The ensuing fight left Varro with a boar tusk impaled through the shoulder of his missing arm, multiple broken ribs and a sternum, and multiple second and third degree burns where he almost quite literally had to blow himself up just to kill the remaining boars, Quasi himself having been "poof'd" awhile back. Sadly, all of that was not enough to force Varro into unconsiousness and he ended up having to lay in the large crater that used to be the camp until he could move again.
Werebear - probably the best encounter he'd had aside from the wolf. The bear was a large female and her cub who'd hired him as an escort through unfamiliar and potentially lethal terrain. I say this was the best as the large she-bear ended up doting on Varro and Quasi once she saw them and realized just how young the pair were. Her cub taught Varro games to play while they camped, and Varro got to feel like an actual kid for once.
Werelion - never officially met. The only werelion they've encountered was a king who tried to have Varro killed after finding out about the "golden beast that walks with death." The pair promptly left soon after.
Weretiger round 2 - the second weretiger Varro met was also evil. A sorcerer who had supposedly "seen his potential" and wanted it for themselves. Tried to convince Varro to join them, which he kindly refused, before trying to force him using some sort of mind control. Varro decided to eat him instead. It made him decide maybe he shouldn't try looking for his own kind anymore.
