An Idea I don't think I've seen for Bruce yet:
Sorry, its "No longer technically night" late, and I'm fighting my demons, and I had a Wayne scene in my head.
Bruce has never moved into the master bedroom of the Manor.
And it is exactly as it was left that night.
It's a shrine. More then their grave could ever be.
Because for Bruce, their tomb is a goad. The rock an implacable demand on his soul to shield the weak from the horrors of the world. A brutal, stark reminder of the dark and terrible things humanity is capable of.
But this room is the opposite. It was always full of light, and laughter. Filled with joy and warm embraces. Here is where his parents could strip away the layers of societal demands and responsibility. This room was where they were the most human.
Here, they are still alive.
Bruce will sometimes stand for hours in the doorway, looking in. Watching the sunlight travel across the thick Turkish rugs his father enjoyed. Sometimes he'll tiptoe in, to lean over the bottles on his mother's vanity, to gather a lingering breath of the scents she wore.
The dust never settles here. The flowers in the vases never wilt. The air is still clean, even with the windows bolted shut.
Locked in time.
A gift. Or a curse maybe.
Or, maybe a gentle reminder, that as dark and terrible as the world is, there are still places where the light is warm, and the echoes of happier times can be remembered.

How different cultures in ASOIAF view cats pt. 1
In our world, culture and religion shape how we view animals, and for this post, specifically cats. An example of how cats a view differently in cultures can be seen in Islamic cultures and Romani Cultures. Because cats clean themselves often, they are viewed as clean by Muslims and can be kept with the family. But for Romani, because of the Marime which states that the genital region is a source of impurity, a cat licking its own lower regions this becomes unclean. Roma still keep pets but they generally donât let them sleep in their bed or lick them. This is all contrasted by American culture where a pet is viewed as a member of the family and will be referred to as the baby or child of their owners and is allowed to sleep in bed with them.
Itâs so interesting and I want to expand this to how Westerosi people see cats and what types of cats they keep.
Dorne
Dorne takes a lot of inspiration from the Arabic would and I think it only makes sense for them to have a similar view of cats.
Cats keeping themselves clean makes them the perfect pets for humans. Cats are also known to pray to the seven if given a seat in a sept (cats love prayer rugs and itâs really cute). Both religious and hygienic, cats are viewed as more sophisticated than other animals and thus are kept closer by their families.
The salty Dornish are best known for their love of cats with many ancient breeds residing in their homes. The green orphans will sail with a cat or two and give them a fish from the days haul. Cats are also seen as omens of good fortune and many shops have a resident cat. Septa also keep cats control pests and because they will sleep at the feet of the seven when their statue is warm. The Turkish Van and Turkish Angora are both old and rare breeds of cats that would flourish in Dorne.

The Sandy Dornish also enjoy cats. Because cats naturally retain more water than dogs, they are fitted to live in the desert. These cats are some of the more wild ones as itâs common for the domestic cat to mix is wild cats. During harsh sandstorms, the Dornish will wrap the cats up in a blanket to protect them from the elements. Cats are known to love this and scene request it when their is no sand storm. The Savannah cat is a cross between wild Serval and a domestic short hair cat.

The stony Dornish are less attached to cats than the Sandy or salty Dornish. Every house hold does have a cat and itâs common for cats to sleep in the room of their favorite person, but the stony Dornish believe that cats have some impurity to them because they lick their own genitals. Families will often perform a cleaning ritual on their cats by wiping them down with a wet cloth to cleanse them of impurity. Cats in stony Dorne are slender and very angular, making them great at slipping through stony hills and along steep walls. The Cornish Rex and Devon Rex are popular cat breeds.

The Iron Islands
Cats were a big part of Scandinavian culture. The goddess Freya had her chariot pulled by Norwegian Forest cats (also called fairy cats) and it was custom for a groom to give his bride a kitten as a wedding gift. For Vikings specifically, cats were kept to control the pests on ship.
Because the Iron Islands is more based on mythical Viking culture than historical Scandinavian culture, we can have some fun with the cats.
Ships are a big part of the iron islands culture, so each ship should have a cat or two. Perhaps to âblessâ a ship before it sets off, a kitten is brought into the ship and makes it their own. I also see the Ironman have a very communal ownership of the cats. Fisherman will give the cats some of their catch as part of a good luck ceremony and people will set up small cat houses for them. They could also view a cat staying with you as a sign of good luck. But because of Thai communal ownership, it would probably be taboo to try and keep a cat to yourself. The iron islanders see a cat as not belonging to a person but to a ship or island.
Types of cats I think the iron islanders would have. Because theyâre kind of weird, I think some weird breeds would fit. The Selkirk Rex is known for playing in water, being loyal to their human, and also have some curly fur!

The Andal Kingdoms
The Andals had a similar relationship to cats that Europeans had before the Black Death. For the Andals, cats were viewed as mainly pest control for their farms and cities. People rarely tries to socialize kittens when born which led to people believing cats were naturally aggressive.
It wasnât until Maesters discovered that cats help prevent the spread of disease by killing rats that cats became a more popular household animal.
The reach was the first kingdom to become very found of the cat. They were perfect help for their farms and perfect pest control for old town. Old Town holds a celebration of cats each year to thank them for preventing extreme disease outbreaks from happening in the city. The Redwyne family is famous for breeding Persians cats that resemble the pugs they breed with short faces. Rich families have a few Persian cats that they dress up as little lords and ladies as an extra show of wealth.

In the storm lands and riverlands, cats are seen as antithetical to the land. The kingdomâs natural wetness drives cats away. Fisherman are often at odds with local cat populations as they fight over fish. Despite the general populationâs disinterest in cats, they are a common staple at inns and bars as they keep rats away from the straw and wheat. Patrons consider seeing a cat with folded ears as a lucky charm that their stay at the inn will be a pleasant one.

I reached the max amount of photos for this post so we will continue with westerlands, the vale, north, beyond the wall, and valyrians!

There's a particular type of post that I hate for it misses the entire point of some online "aesthetic" communities, via total exaggeration of the majority of people that are part of it.
You need to understand what a fantasy is. Even if it's unrealistic and you hate it. Because it's a fantasy, sometimes an escapist one, not reality.
I was raised in rural areas from 11 to around 20, first because me and my mother moved to live with a friend, and then because I was orphaned. I know the hard work of living in the countryside. I know what it is like to carry tones of wood from the truck to the garage to heat up the house and water for winter. I know how cows infest the nearby areas with flies and the smell of shit. I know chickens are disgusting. I know no white clothing would remain white for long. I know you sometimes live so far from the nearest market you need to use a car (thankfully I only had to walk twenty minutes).
Cottagecore or any variation of it are not that. They are a fantasy. An escapist dream. The return to a glamourized pastoral genre of fiction and ideology. Cute homes that remain always cozy (despite you never deep cleaning them). Baking complex recipes in your beautiful and plant covered kitchen (which magically has no flies). Taking a stroll to a nearby river and resting there for a bit (your house came from the sky and you didn't pay an exorbitant amount of money for the location). Having so many books and old fashioned hobbies and knowing how to both tend to a garden, do embroidery, crochet and woodworking (because this is your ideal world so you have no job taking up time). You have time to write your books, draw your art, maybe go out with your countryside friends. You may have a loving, imaginary partner who is just part of the picture too (because they're not real, so you can imagine them as unrealistic as you please).
Same applies to the dark academia or whatever.
It's a fantasy. A fantasy you can try to bring little by little into your life, but it's ultimately impossible to fully achieve. Chill out. You're not cool and quirky by hating on people who make extensive and picture perfect pinterest boards or run sideblogs with pictures of expensive stoves and animal themed pottery. You just look like an asshole.
"But farm life isn't like that!!!!!" So what? As long as people don't think caring for cows is easy and cheap, and get one only to mistreat her due to negligence... I don't see how their fantasy is harming anyone.
Some people accept unrealistic, borderline insipid (imo) books because "everyone has a different taste". Books you actually pay for. But then you shit on people who are posting pictures of dreams with zero real world consequences involved? It's the exact same thing.
"But people will start thinking it's fun when it ain't!" If you go ahead and buy a farm, waste thousands on decorations, get twenty chickens and five cows without any research... it's not because of a pastoral fantasy. It's because you're an idiot who doesn't think of the ramifications of your actions. We all have fantasies. Good lord.
My fantasy is to have a small neo gothic palace with a farm on the back, near the woods and with a small stream running through. It snows there, because I've never seen snow. Everything is dark and with a vague vampire theme mixed with neo-classic stuff, along with wall and ceiling paintings. I have expensive turkish rugs and tapestries with mythological scenes. I have a loving husband and two cats, along with a mare. I spend my days writing books and drawing illustrations, ocasionally doing history papers. My gigantic home is always clean despite no one doing so. Later, I have a child running through the place. Food is always warm, coffee always served.
Do I think I'll ever get this? Fuck no. But it's a goddamn fantasy for a reason, and as a writer, I can also commit it to paper. Who cares about how hard maintaining such a house would be? I don't live in it.
#garrett.text#it pisses me off so much#so many people I follow are all for 'fiction isn't reality' unless it applies to some harmless thing they hate on

Ramadan drabble
Length: 958 words
Content: fem!reader, fluff, kissing, arabic words/termsÂ
Authors note: Heeey, I decided to make a Ramadan drabble. Ramadan Mubarak to everyone that celebrates!Â
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âAllahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ´ala rizq-ika aftarthuâ you both say before eating your dates. âUgh, I´ve been craving this the whole dayâ Eren moans almost drooling over the food you had prepared for your husband and yourself. This was your first Ramadan together as a married couple, so you wanted Iftar to be something special and rememberable. You had cooked the Turkish delights Carla had taught you were his favorites. âI loved the food you prepared, loveâ He kisses your forehead. That brought you joy âThank youâ You smile playing with your cat. You were not that fond of it in the beginning, however, Eren managed to convince you to get one as it was Sunnah. After eating and talking about your day, Eren got up âAlhamdulillah, again thank you for everything you have done today Y/nâ You feel your cheeks burn âY-you welcomeâ Itâs been ten months since your marriage, but that man still manages to get you blushing.Â
He starts cleaning the table âNo, it's fine-âEren grabs your hand gently, âYou have been in the kitchen for the past hours preparing this Iftar, what I can least do is clean. I don´t want my princess to wear herself out. Give me 10 minutes, you can take wudu in the meantime.â He grabs the plates and walks to the sink; he looked handsome in the sheen green abaya you bought him during your honeymoon trip to Morocco. It enhances his olive skin and eyes, so you had to buy him it. You hug him from behind while he is doing the dishes, and he grabs some foam and places it on your nose. âHey!â you giggle whipping the foam away âIt was in self-defense, I got ambushed while doing my dishesâ he grins. He is so handsome; you are lucky to have such a beautiful husband Allah blessed you with this one. âWhat are you thinking about?â he says squeezing your nose between his index and middle fingers. âYouâ you grin as it made him blush a bit. âSomeone is feeling flirtatious this eveningâŚhaven´t you forgotten something though.â He kisses your forehead as you wrinkled it in confusion, your eyes widen as you remember that you forgot to take wudu. You run to the bathroom, leaving Eren laughing over the sink.
You set out both your prayer rugs and fix your hijab as you were waiting on him. He comes shortly after being freshly cleaned and he starts leading the Maghrib prayer. After praying you both sit down to watch 90-days FiancĂŠ, which is one of your favorite things to do as a couple. However, it got magically disturbed by your heated makeout session. Eren puts you on your lap before lifting you and marching to the bedroom. After your session, the both of you cuddle in bed you sit up and he put his head on your lap. âYou should pee and take Ghusul, the others texted me and they are coming over since I have eaten and am not hangry anymore according to Connieâ You can´t help but laugh, when you were younger Eren used to throw tantrums at Jean during fasting which was explained by him being hangry but in reality did the two of them love to heat each other up. Eren flicks your forehead as a punishment for not defending his honor.Â
You then walk to the bathroom to get cleaned while Eren is still napping in bed. âWake up, I´m done. You should get cleaned up as well before they show upâ you whisper softly while stroking his hair. âCan´t we just cancel on themâ he groans, grabbing your waist with one arm to lay you down with him. He starts kissing your neck slowly âEren, I´ve just taken Ghusul, hurry up and get cleanedâ he pouts and walks towards the bathroom. In the meantime, you clean the living room to make it look more presentable for the others when they show up. You can hear that Eren is showering which brings you relief. Carla warned you before marrying her son that the guy can sometimes be stubborn and lazy. However, he straightens up immediately when it comes to you.Â
The doorbell rang and you walk towards the door, you can hear the others talking among themselves. You open the door and are almost tackled by Sasha and Connie. âHow are you doing Y/n? Gosh, you must be dying from not eating meat the whole day.â Sasha almost cried âBut fear not, we brought you and Eren some meaty pizzasâ You could swear that you saw drool coming from her mouth. âOh, thank you but you shouldn't have I could have prepared something for you guys.â Mikasa is the first to answer âYou have been fasting the whole day and we didn´t want you to worry about cooking for us.â You smile and open the door wider to let them in. Connie, Sasha and Jean crash on the sofa, while Mikasa and Armin sit on the bean bags. âDo you want any drinks?â You ask âWe brought soda and juice. Just sit down with us Y/nâ Armin pats the other bean bag. You sit down next to the blonde âOh Eren is-â You got interrupted by Connie âAssalamu alaikum Halali Kingâ Eren came out of the bedroom with his abaya on and a towel on his shoulders. âAt this point, you should just convert Connieâ Eren grins âSure, I mean four wives doesn´t sound badâŚouch!.â Sasha hit him on the back head âFour wives, you wouldn´t be able to commit to the five prayers, idiot.â Everyone in the room laughs, the night was perfect as the two of you were companied by your second family.

Preparing for Prayer
The Turkish soldier was getting ready for prayer. He took off his boots and stood clean and barefoot. He faced Mecca, placed his hands together, and began to pray. He knelt, prayed again, and then lowered his forehead to the ground, praying a third time. When he finished, he folded his small prayer rug and tucked it into his jacket. It was a peaceful and impressive sight, seeing this soldier take a quiet moment during the midday break to perform the devotions of a true Muslim.
Getting Ready to Continue the Journey
A command was given, and the soldiers quickly got up, slinging their rifles over their shoulders and hopping back onto their horses. We moved on, leaving the shaded trees behind. As we rode, we could see the sunlit landscape ahead. The hills were pleasant, and soon we were riding among them at a steady pace Customized Daily Istanbul Tours.
Challenging Terrain Ahead
However, that pace couldnât last long. The path soon became steep and rocky, making it impossible for the horses to continue. We dismounted and began walking. The hillside was full of loose rocks and many streams. It felt like walking through a muddy coal mine. We hopped from one rock to another, pausing occasionally to wait for the slower horses to catch up.
Approaching Ochrida
Soon, Ochrida came into view. It was a small town perched on a rock by the large Ochrida Lake. Behind it was a beautiful flat valley, perfectly cultivatedâeverything seemed to be growing in abundance, like a carpet of fertility.
Arriving in the City
We decided to push ahead of the other travelers from Monastir, as they had their own guard and we werenât sure when they would catch up. So, we rode on towards the city, organizing ourselves in a respectful manner. Two soldiers with rifles rode ahead, followed by the captain, my guide, and me, with the rest of the soldiers riding in pairs behind us. As we galloped into town, the people came out to watch. Mothers, fearing for their children, rushed in panic, worried that the horses might hurt their little ones. But fortunately, no children were harmed.

Versailles - One thing you MUST do is go to Versailles. Skip the palace if itâs crazy and go see Marie Antoinetteâs âcountry houseâ on the opposite side of the property (Petit Trianon). Itâs so incredible and charming, you can still feel her there, she really comes alive! Bring a picnic and eat lunch in the Versailles gardens!Stroll to Peche de Malle to snag some hostess gift approved tea towels and beach blankets, and to neighboring Hic, where the cools kids are finding their tchotchkes for the home. Youâll be close to the antique district, so you may as well mosey through there for any last minute finds. Youâll be tuckered out, so have some Turkish tea back at the hotel, and rest up. Last night of dinner should likely be Karakoy Lokantasi, where you will need the concierge to help you get a table. Chic and brand spanking new, itâs the hot spot for good reason. The team at Soho House says to order the Midye Dolma (stuffed mussels with garlic sauce). Per usual, they are right.â - Meghan Markle, April 2015Check into the newly designed Soho House Istanbul tucked into the Beyoglu district. With 87 rooms, two rooftop pools overlooking the Bosphorus, and rooms that boast Turkish tiled floors and rainforest showers, itâs the perfect (and most stunning) place to rest your head. Have the hotel arrange a tour for you to check out the Grand Bazaar with the ever lovely host, Aysem Erginoglu. She speaks fluent English, Turkish, and German and will prove to be your trusted tour guide as she whisks you from the ritual of rug shopping (apple tea & five dedicated employees), through the nooks and crannies of the very overwhelming bazaar. Pick up one up a rug from Dhoku at a fraction of the cost; they sell to ABC Home in NY as well as Anthropologie. Well, well, wellâŚyou little product sourcer, you.Equal parts invigorating and dizzying, 48 hours in Istanbul is, indeed, an undertaking. Rest assured, your head will be spinning with (Turkish) delight once back on the plane, but undoubtedly, itâs worth every singular moment. âThere have been some lofty travel goals set in my wanderlust-filled life, but 48 hours in Istanbul was perhaps the most ambitious. Itâs Istanbul, after all, with its grand bazaar, over 3,000 mosques to explore, rugs to strategically schlep back home, baklava to devour, culture-filled neighborhoods, the requisite hammam you simply must try, and oh yeah â that big ol Bosphorus. Case in point: thereâs a lot to squeeze in. âWith the Toronto International Film Festival in full effect, it seemed only right to share some of my favorite finds from this new home of mine. We have been filming Suits in Toronto for 4 seasons now, which means four years of getting to know this city. Domaine was kind enough to ask for my favorite finds, and now I am sharing them with you along with a couple of new additions. Here is my Insiderâs Guide to Toronto, where the people are friendly, the streets are clean, the food is damn good, and where I found my happiness. Sounds like a pretty good place, eh?âThe Harbord Room - "Hands-down my absolute favorite restaurant in Toronto and beyond. The food is just perfect, whether youâre craving a crudo plate, a seasonal pasta dish laced with ramps, pesto and a whole lotta love, or the absolute best burger youâve ever had. My friend, Natalie, brought me here years ago for the burger (with fries and a bottle of pinot noir), and it remains my most-craved meal. Just go. This oneâs a no-brainer.âBar Isabel - "I used to live in Madrid, so my love for Spanish cuisine runs deep. Bar Isabel has a beautiful space with Andalucian tiles that reminds me of long weekends in Seville. Order the ceviche, and if youâre a fan of octopus, definitely go for that; it is served whole, with garlicky potatoes that will make you want to fall into a blissful carb coma."
