Valentina Herszage: Trabalhos no Teatro. Lazarus - 2019/2020

Lazarus - 2019/2020

Valentina Herszage participou da versão brasileira do musical Lazarus, de David Bowie. Escrito pelo icônico cantor inglês em conjunto com o dramaturgo Enda Walsh, Lazarus é baseado no romance “O homem que caiu na terra”, que na versão para o cinema teve Bowie no papel de protagonista. O roteiro narra a vida atormentada de Thomas Newton, um alienígena que viaja para a terra para salvar seu planeta.

Lazarus apresenta 18 músicas de diversas fases da carreira de Bowie, incluindo sucessos como “Life on Mars” e “Heroes”, além de faixas do último álbum do artista, falecido em 2016, Blackstar. Com direção geral de Felipe Hirsch e tendo Daniela Thomas e Felipe Tassara na direção de arte, a montagem possui ainda um elenco potente com atores renomados como Jesuíta Barbosa (Thomas Jerome Newton), que está estrelando seu primeiro musical como o protagonista, Carla Salle (Elly) e Bruna Guerin, entre outros igualmente talentosos, como Gabriel Stauffer, Luci Salutes, Natasha Jascalevich, Olivia Torres, Rafael Losso, Rômulo Braga, Tulio Starling, Valentina Herszage e Vitor Vieira.

New Beginnings (Lyra & Lazlo)

The Brazilian heat hit Lyra full front. It was sunny like any other day here in Brazil but somehow today was even hotter than yesterday. She tried fanning herself in hopes that some relief would come out of it but with no luck.

“Just what I needed. To be sweating buckets here just before I meet with the Prime Minister.” a grumble escapes from her lips. She viewed herself in the mirror one more time. A satisfied smile reached her lips when as she fixed her black pencil skirt, a little too daring for the occasion and her white blouse to make sure she didn’t look too cheeky for the officials. Her long blonde hair was tied up in a high ponytail much needed for the weather.

Thank god I decided to wear black flats and not heels cause I would be even more uncomfortable than I already am from this heat. Does this place even have any central air vacs? She thought to herself.

Lyra was on an important business meeting to collect information from the current Prime Minister of Brazil, Tulio Correia de Freitas. An assembly was to be held in exactly 38 minutes counting along with political allies, members of the Brazilian Armed Forces, and Military Firefighters Corps. The meeting Lyra was supposed to have with the Prime Minister was crucial for her father’s business back in Norway and it would be her final mission before taking a break from the constant travelling and extracting information through the use of her charms and alluring voice. 

Feeling impatient Lyra paced in the giant hallway, biting her perfectly manicured thumbnail in the process. For some reason ever since she landed in Brazil she has felt as if someone was watching her but when she went to take a look around her surroundings, nothing struck as abnormal.

“Come on Lyra you are overreacting. Stop being so paranoid. This is an easy mission. I have been in much more dangerous situations.” She reassured herself. 

Yea! Nothing was going to stop me from completing this mission and going right back to Norway. It will be a piece of cake. Nothing can go wrong!

Even with the confidence, Lyra tried shaking away the little doubting voice in her head.

“Miss Starling the assembly meeting is about to start. If you would please follow me to your seating.” A tall and slender Brazilian man introduced himself and gestured over to where I was to follow him. Without thinking of how the time flew right past my nervous mind, I followed him to my seat. 

The room was packed with people. The body heat emitting from everyone made the room to be smouldering hot, almost suffocating to breathe in. To Lyra’s displeasure, her seat was located right at the end of a table and she had to struggle to pass through the incredibly buffed out men from the Military Firefighters Corps.

Jesus these poor men barely have any leg space. 

Lyra looks up.

Or arm space for that matter.

Somehow Lyra made it to her seat, shuffling her small frame as quickly as she could and placed herself gently, cuddling to the corner to get whatever space and cool air she could get. 

The Prime Minister of Brazil stood up from his seat, a pleased smile reached the corner of his lips before clearing his voice and starting his introduction of the purpose of this meeting and why we were here. Apparently, the PM had plans for further economic development to happen all over Brazil but with the constant threats from gangs and outside organisations, development could not start until all citizens were protected and relocated somewhere else. 

That’s why the Armed Forces and MFC were invited. To figure out how to protect its people and stop these ongoing assaults. I wasn’t aware it was this bad in Brazil. 

Lyra furrowed her brows as memories of her childhood in Ilios Greece flashed before her eyes. New fears came everyday living in Ilios. People lost their lives every day and many citizens feared of what would happen to their friends and family...

“Come on Lyra pull yourself together.” She whispered. 

Lyra stifled a yawn as she tried to translate his words but oh man did this man have a very soothing voice.

Roda Viva ganha última (e curta) temporada no Teatro Oficina

O histórico Teat(r)o Oficina Uzyna Uzona, apresenta pela última vez a remontagem “Roda Viva”, de Chico Buarque, com curtíssima temporada em sua sede no Bixiga, no centro de SP, até 26 de janeiro.

As apresentações acontecem às sextas e aos sábados, às 20h, e aos domingos, às 19h, com ingressos vendidos por até R$ 60. O espetáculo ganha ainda sessões extras nos dias 25 e 31 de dezembro, celebrando ter sobrevivido a 2019.

Com direção de Zé Celso, a montagem narra a ascensão e a queda de Benedito Silva, transformado pelas figuras do Anjo da Guarda e do Capeta no fenômeno Bem Silver, um cantor e compositor de sucesso fabricado pela indústria cultural. Ele tem sua genialidade pautada e monitorada pelos índices de popularidade na mídia.

Depois de todo sucesso, o herói pop é novamente moldado em Benedito Lampião, cantor de música nordestina. E, finalmente, é devorado pelo coro da peça e substituído por sua esposa Juliana, que vira o novo ícone da cultura. A trilha sonora traz sucessos de Chico Buarque que surgiram da própria dramaturgia na montagem original, como “Roda Viva” e “Sem Fantasia”, além de outras canções mais recentes, como “Caravanas” e “Cordão”.

A peça questionadora de Chico Buarque foi escrita em 1986 durante o ápice da Ditadura Militar brasileira. A dramaturgia era uma espécie de resposta para a icônica montagem antropofágica de Zé Celso e Renato Borghi para “O Rei da Vela”, de Oswald de Andrade.

Depois de assistir a esse espetáculo, o cantor e dramaturgo convidou o Teat(r)o Oficina para montar “Roda Viva” junto com o famoso cenógrafo e figurinista Flávio Império (1935-1985).

O elenco principal da peça é formado por Roderick Himeros, Camila Mota, Guilherme Calzavara, Joana Medeiros, Marcelo Drummond e Vera Barreto Leite; e o coro antropofágico, por Cafira Zoé, Carol Castanho, Clarisse Johansson, Cyro Morais, Danielle Rosa, Fernanda Taddei, Isabela Mariotto, Kael Studart, Kelly Campello, Lucas Andrade, Marcella Maia, Marcelo Dalourzi, Mayara Baptista, Nash Laila, Nolram Rocha, Sylvia Prado, Tony Reis, Tulio Starling, Viviane Clara e Zé Ed.

Já a banda conta com a participação de Amanda Ferraresi (violoncelo), André Santana (bateria), Carina Iglecias (percussão), Felipe Botelho (baixo), Giuliano Ferrari (piano), Ito Alves (percussão) e Moita Mattos (guitarra).
