The Irregular at Magic High School Season 2 Release Date
The post The Irregular at Magic High School Season 2 Release Date appeared first on Chikyuji Animes.
“Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei,” or “The irregular at magic high school,” is one of the most popular series of all time. The anime has a dedicated fanbase that has been waiting for a season 2 for a long time now. To the joy of all the committed fans out there, “The irregular at Magic High School Season 2 has been confirmed! If you are one of these fans and want all the info about Irregular at Magic High School season 2, then you are at the right place. But before we get into the juicy details about season 2, let’s see what this anime is all about.
The Irregular at Magic High School is one of those series where the main lead is overpowered. Unlike most of these kinds of series lack any excitement and go bland really quickly. The Irregular at Magic Highschool seems to have done this right.
The main character, Shiba Tatsuya is overpowered, but he is a human and has certain limitations. These are emphasized throughout the series. The story is very descriptive. So much so that even the anime is high on narrations. This is not a series where the reader/viewer can just sit back and relax, they have to actually listen and understand the world-building to know what going on. Although, the series does a very good job explaining its concepts. The narrations need attention. And it’s a necessity if you truly want to enjoy the series. Now let’s look at this shows plot to refresh our memories.
Irregular at Magic High School Plot:
Tumblr media

The story is set in an alternative history where magic and technology have gone through a revolution. They have been systematically combined and integrated into society. In this world, we follow Shiba Tatsuya who enrolls in a magic Highschool with his sister, Shiba Miyuki.
His sister tops the exam because of her magic ability and gets placed in the magic course. But Tatsuya, although tops the written exam, couldn’t display magical potency. This gets him placed in the second course. Which is looked down upon by the magic course students.
Despite this, Tatsuya has some extraordinary Technical prowess, high combat ability, and rare magic abilities: making him the irregular at magic high school.
Irregular at Magic High School Anime:
Tumblr media
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Season 2 release date confirmed for 2020. Pic credit: Madhouse
The Irregular at Magic High School was animated by studio Madhouse. Yes, that legendary Madhouse studio which is known for its epic fight scenes and captivating visuals, and is behind the many shows like “Highschool of the Dead”, “Overlord”, “No Game No Life”, and “Claymore”.
Now, Madhouse did a superb job with this one. Their signature fast pace action adds to the feel of the series. Making the already OP Shiba Tatsuya more badass. The story of the anime is also very really well done. The progression of the events feels natural. And adds to the enjoyment of the series. The anime is very descriptive and does a pretty good job explaining its concepts. Which can be very intricate at times. So you have to pay attention to the long rants. Now even with this, the anime is very enjoyable. And is a must-watch for any hard-core fan out there.
Irregular at Magic High School Light Novel:
Tumblr media
The story of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Season 2 anime picks up with light novel Volume 9-11. Pic credit: Madhouse
Irregular at Magic High School started as a web novel in 2008, it was posted in “Shōsetsuka ni Narō”, a user-generated publishing website. In 2011, the author “Tsutomu Satō” made a deal with “Dengeki Bunko” to serialize his brainchild in a light novel. The light novel was an immediate success that continues to this day. The novel has 30 published volumes, as the writing of this article, and still continues, along with many spinoffs. The light novel is well-loved because of its detailed story and descriptive world-building.
The novel with its Alternative history setting tings the imagination of its readers with its alternative history. Which is very addictive. The fans can’t get enough of it. This light novel is a must-read for all light-novel readers out there. And I would recommend it to every enthusiast out there.
Irregular at Magic High School Movie:
Tumblr media
The Irregular At Magic High School Season 2 episodes will be coming out in July 2020. Pic credit: Madhouse
Irregular at Magic High School Movie (“The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars”) was a gift for all those fans wanting something more of their favorite series. The movie was released in 2017, 3 years after season 1. And it did not disappoint. 8-bit did a fantastic job animating the movie and the movie was even more liked as compared to the anime. The movie is must watch after the animes season 1. And I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.
Irregular at Magic High School Season 2:
Yes, you heard that right. The Irregular at Magic High School season 2 has been confirmed. At the “Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahōsō Festival” held in October 2019, a season 2 for the series was announced. Now, this is 5 years after season 1. So, I guess Btooom! also has a chance.

The Irregular at Magic High School
The Irregular at Magic High School, known in Japanese as Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei (魔法科高校の劣等生, lit. "The Poor Performing Student of a Magic High School"), is a Japanese web novel series by Tsutomu Satō. It was published on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, an internet web novel website, between October 2008 and March 2011. Satō reached a deal with Dengeki Bunko and began releasing his work in a light novel format beginning July 2011. In 2013, each story arc received a manga adaptation with varying manga artists and publishers. That same year, an anime adaptation by Madhouse was announced and was broadcast between April and September 2014.
The Irregular at Magic High School franchise had been localized for English by two companies: The light novels and one of the manga adaptations are licensed by Yen Press while Aniplex of America licensed the anime series. The anime series was simulcasted on four networks and was later made available on Netflix.
Network: Tokyo MX, MBS, TVQ, TVh, AT-X, BS11, Netflix
Episode: 26
Type: Animation
Date: April 6, 2014 – September 27, 2014

It does have a dry moment toward that last few episodes, but still a great show overall. The only parts that leave me hanging are when they explain how something works during the anime.... but the idea and overall story are pretty cool though you are left not knowing the complete history of the main character.
==============================================
In the dawn of the 21st century, magic, long thought to be folklore and fairy tales, has become a systematized technology and is taught as a technical skill. In First High School, the institution for magicians, students are segregated into two groups based on their entrance exam scores: "Blooms," those who receive high scores, are assigned to the First Course, while "Weeds" are reserve students assigned to the Second Course. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei follows the siblings, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, who are enrolled in First High School. Upon taking the exam, the prodigious Miyuki is placed in the First Course, while Tatsuya is relegated to the Second Course. Though his practical test scores and status as a "Weed" show him to be magically inept, he possesses extraordinary technical knowledge, physical combat capabilities, and unique magic techniques—making Tatsuya the irregular at a magical high school.
