I had just gotten the cutest fluffiest tooth rotting sweet idea for a fanfic I've ever gotten.
You know how there is a type of color blindness called red green color blind? It's basically green turns to yellow and red to brown and well fellow and blue stay the same.
So what if reader is red green color blind and her favorite color is blue since it's the only special color she can see and since Theo's eyes are blue when she sees his eyes she gets really excited, wi excited that she just grabs Theo's face so she can get a better look.
I feel like the reader need to have a cherry and bubbly personality because she needs to be very very clueless to just grab someone's face because of how exited she would get.
i've quite literally been obsessed with this ask since you've sent it, and i've gone back and forth on how to write it completely, then went through a little bit of writers block altogether so hopefully i do this justice and close to how you might have envisioned it.
You were really young when it happened, the accident that caused it. Mum was proficient in potions, and you just wanted to be just like her. But a four year old really shouldn't have been messing with her things. It all happened so fast, your little mind just thought you were playing, copying what you've seen her do. Throwing a little of this and a little of that in the cauldron, pouring the pretty blue liquid inside. You had picked it because it was your favorite color, which, looking back seems incredibly ironic.
The explosion was quick but it shook your entire house. Your parents had come rushing in, only to find you sitting up against the far wall, eyebrows gone and lower lip quivering. It has taken about six months before anyone was aware of what it did to you. You were so young and the experience was, well, pretty traumatic so you never really said anything about the changes.
Everyone thought you consistently picked the blue things because it was your favorite color. And while that was slightly true, it was also the only color you were able to see completely. You could occasionally see very dull shades of other colors, extremely muted or like you were seeing them through a layer of grey tissue paper.
Your parents never made too big of a deal out of the situation, instead just teaching you how to by hyper vigilant for specific details you could notice to help you out. Like the difference in how a ruby felt to an emerald, or how gum root smelled versus hickory drip. So overall you had learned to manage. And truly you didn't think you were missing out on much.
In your opinion all of the best things were blue. The ocean on a bright summers day, the sky on a crisp fall morning, the shine on a sapphire, and of course, your Ravenclaw robes. Your 'condition' was spread throughout the school by Christmas holiday your first year. It wasn't something you kept a secret, but it also wasn't something you spread around like you'd won the quidditch world cup.
It didn't bother you that people knew, but it did change how some people saw you. When you were younger, they tried to tease you, tried to call you a freak, tell you that you wouldn't amount to much as "you'd never be successful with such a limitation." It's a wonder what a loving family and supportive friends can do to keep one grounded and happy. As despite all those negative words in your early years, you were still so bright and bubbly.
You had gotten used to how you viewed things a long time ago, but that didn't stop you from being marveled at new discoveries. Which is what had you following a very tall and lanky Slytherin boy down the hall. You had noticed it by accident, as he passed you in the hall. You knew who he was, were well aware of his and his little gang's reputation. But you liked to form your own opinions from experience, and you hadn't quite interacted with this particular member yet.
Your friends had called after you, but after seeing the determined pep in your step had just settled for following. When you had finally caught up to him you wrapped your arms around his bicep, spinning him round to face you. "What the-," he was cut off by your hands grabbing hold of either side of his face, delicate thumbs resting on his sharp cheek bones to hold him still.
"Merlin, Theo, your eyes they're...gods they're like water colors." Theo was thoroughly caught off guard. Not only by the pretty girl holding his face but by the words coming from her mouth. "Oh sweet Rowena, they've just shifted, what are you thinking about?" He did his best not to stutter, "Erm, I...," you could feel his cheeks heat beneath your palm and your smile was instant, "I've not heard that description before. Usually they just say like the ocean or the sky or whatever."
Your thumbs rubbed gently on the apples of his cheeks. "Oh, they're much more than that. They're like...when you first dip your brush into the prettiest pallet after a dip in the water, then when you make the first brushstroke, and the color spreads so perfectly, shifting hues of blue. That's them...your eyes."
No sooner had you finished your explanation were his lips on yours. It was unexpected, catching you off guard but not unpleasantly. His mouth slotted against yours seemingly effortlessly, your hands slipping form his cheeks to loop around his neck and his hands found solace on your waist. His eyes are what drew you in but his lips, merlin you could get used to those.
"Oi, Nott. Who're ya-," The interruption caused the two of you to break apart abruptly, you wiping your slightly swollen lips and straightening where Theo was gripping your skirt. "Oh, no fucking way," Enzo Berkshire's voice sounded as smug as the look on his face. Theo simply threw up his middle finger at the boy before turning to you, small grin on his face.
"Erm, sorry for bombarding you like that its just-," You shook your head, cutting him off, "S'okay." Theo's grin grew two times, "Can I see you think weekend? Coming to the Slytherin party?" You nodded, biting your bottom lip to try and contain your growing smile. Theo placed a kiss on your forehead before looking you in your eyes, more so so you could see his one last time. Then with a wink, he turned and ran to catch up with his friend.

What Does "Supporting Writers" Mean? ✍️
Apparently it's Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day! To all my fellow writers, I truly appreciate you for bringing me joy, making me smile on rough days, and giving me my weekly/daily dose of escapism and warm fuzzies. (Shoutouts to you personally below.) 💓💓
But what does it mean "practically" to appreciate your favorite writers, especially on Tumblr?
For example, I know some fanfic authors are starting to block "serial likers": people who'll go through someone's entire masterlist and hit the "like" button on 20-something stories without commenting or basic reblogging.
While I think blocking them is extreme, I understand the authors' frustrations. I've actually been asked if I'll ever leave Tumblr, since many of them have dropped off over the past few months, or even the past few years.
I'm still here for two very important reasons:
I love to write about my favorite characters. I write primarily because I love it, not just for the kudos.
I'm friggin' blessed to have a lot of friends and lovely readers on here and Ao3 who support me immensely on my writing and on this blog in general. I love and appreciate each and every one of you! Which is why I do my best to reply to your comments and reblogs. 💖💖
Of course, there are many reasons why a writer might take a break or stop writing entirely, but one of those reasons is also why the #supportwriters tag exists...
And why you'll see us include banners like this on our posts:
(Credits: cafekitsune, me, inklore)
That being said, here's my own rule of thumb on how I try to support my fellow writers when I read something I enjoy:
If I "liked" something, it means I had the time to read a story all the way through and I enjoyed it! (Or I'm bookmarking it for later in the day lol)
If I have the time to read it, I have the time to leave a comment on what I liked the most about it.
If I have the time to write out a comment (anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes), I typically put that comment in a reblog -- maybe even add a gif or two for ✨razzle dazzle.✨ That way I can share it with the rest of my followers, so they can see it and hopefully enjoy it too...
Why? Because Tumblr isn't TikTok or IG. Reblogging is the best way to help a post gain traction on Tumblr. The algorithm doesn't care much about likes.
But on a more human level, supporting writers is just the basic thing of -- if you enjoyed something you read (that a writer shared for free), just let them know what you liked about it.
Remember that there's a person behind the content you enjoy. They might have been working on that story for weeks or months, or even years before they got the courage to post it.
They might really be putting themselves out there, writing about a topic or subject matter that they're not sure people will even like or engage with.
Maybe they're exploring something new, like a character or trope they've never written before.
Maybe they're expressing part of themselves that they haven't even told another living soul.
Maybe they just wanted to write something fun and smutty or angsty or fluffy and want to share the escapism with you.
Whether they've been writing for years or are just starting out, any and all is valid.
For me, as a writer and a reader, supporting my fellow writers often means supporting my friends. And 9 times out of 10, the way we became friends was by leaving feedback on their work and asking them questions, or responding to their awesome feedback on mine.
If you want a little jumpstart on how to leave feedback, whether encouraging or constructive, here's an awesome post about it (not mine).
Shoutout to some of my favorite writers 💞:

My Fanfiction Recs: Korrasami
In 2020, I watched The Legend of Korra. (Fun fact: it helped me realize and accept that I was bi! So the show has a special place in my heart.) Crazy enough, I started reading Korrasami fanfiction the same year. For the next three years I devoured the fanfiction, and so the following list is an accumulation of my favorites. I think I've read enough to say these are some of the best. Though I haven't been into the fandom lately, I didn't want this old list to go to waste in case anyone was hunting for some good Korrasami reads.
Actually, I discovered some of my favorite stories through Tumblr blogs and am immensely grateful for those posters for sharing their lists. This is my way of paying it forward. Hope someone can enjoy these like I did.
I divvied these up in a way that only made sense to past me. Linked the Ao3 in titles. (You might have to be logged in to see some of these.) I tried to add some commentary for each. Also, I highlighted the ones in blue I really recommend you to read, though I do think everything here is worth a read! Without further ado, here is my compiled list of (Korrasami):
fanfics (that are actually quality)
beautiful prose & the feels
The Everthere by guileheroine My favorite one of them all. I would argue this is one of the best fanfics, if you like a cozy and character-driven read. You really get into Korra and Asami's heads and moods. Slow burn but so, so worth it. I've read this one three times.
Nightmares and Daydreams by Dispari It's been a while since I read this one, but I had a note saying this is "maybe my 2nd fave". Similar tone to The Everthere.
it’s such a gorgeous sight to see you in the middle of the night by badkids This is on almost every recommendation list I've seen. For a reason. College AU. Some angst but a whole lot of fluff and some humor and of course, dorkiness. Another cozy read. The title is from that The Cure song and is also one of my favorite lyrics ever.
like broken thunder by neurolingual Camp counselor AU. All of this writer's works are amazing. They truly have a gift for writing beautiful prose. This time, it's Asami pining for Korra, a different perspective from most fanfics.
I don't remember these as well, but I do remember them being very good and well worth a read. (I know I reread some of these.) And I haven't seen some of these on other lists, so I guess there are some hidden gems in the mix. Some shorter parenthetical notes here.
this winter, you're here by camphollstein (Modern AU. Asami POV. I think Asami was the one pining here. I also liked the family feels.)
all the choirs in my head sing, no by lupine (Canon AU. Short and cute.)
waiting for my chance to come by badkids (Sequel to it’s such a gorgeous sight to see you in the middle of the night)
if these sheets were the states by neurolingual (canon, sad with happy ending, pining/yearning, oh also Asami Pining)
be a girl like any other by neurolingual (grocery store au)
these little moments that lead me to you by raininthesea (quietly beautiful writing)
meet me at the rooftop's edge (at 3 am) by raininthesea (college au)
Out of the Woods series by ariadnerue (canon if I recall right? very feels)
One on One by paxbanana (canon. Asami Pining!)
Auld Lang Syne by aizia (modern au. how to tell your best friend you love her on new year's.)
Prison My Eyes by wreckofherheart (beautiful, canon divergence between books 3 and 4)
unique story
The Honeymooners by hellorhogwartsfics Honestly, should fall under the above category too, but the story really stood out. It was a wild ride! Modern AU. Asami is a jilted bride and her best friend Korra is there for her to take the place of her husband for the honeymoon. I'm a big fan of this author's humor too.
Brittle Wires by golari This was such a unique AU and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Maybe my 3rd fave. The way they wrote Korra and Asami here was so unique. Their interactions are subtle but meaningful. I'm also a fan of nerdy Korra and a secretly pining Asami. It shows the work as unfinished, but it's complete since the author was just thinking of adding an Asami POV chapter.
and you lift me up in a wave of love by overnights (Surfer AU, this one gave me a warm feeling I recall. Read it if you like the beach and sand. And rock.)
Maybe by selftaughthuman (Beautiful one-shot, feels, set in Boston)
Permeate by contronym (Mechanic AU, 2nd person POV, lil cliché but beautiful prose makes up for it)
humor!
An odd category, I know. But some of these really made me laugh out loud, all snorting and uglylike. Enjoy.
All These Lines Are Blurring by hellorhogwartsfics Vegas AU baby! I laughed so hard I cried at times. Opal is amazing here. I've read all of this author's Korrasami works.
Quick Bright Things by LadyRavenEye Oh, this one was absolutely wonderful. Do not skip the footnotes, that's where the humor is! Fake marriage AU. Both are oblivious.
p = mgh (potential) by the_oreo (another damn college au, crack lol, frivolously fantastic)
Paradiddle by bazaar (marching band au, very fluffy)
Sato, #22, Shooting Guard by MidoriAkiko (I don’t remember this much, but it’s slapstick funny. some angst tho. slow burn like most on this list)
fluffy and light-hearted
Direct to Video by Emirael (another college au, so much damn fluff)
Company by golari (both are nerds! cute and informative)
Time for You by AnotherShotofBourbon (soulmate oneshot, dorky)
cooler than the flip side of my pillow by camphollstein (FLUFF also literally)
Absolute Beginners by ReneeMontoya (college au! pining)
That's it! There's a lot more great ones out there, but these were just ones that personally stood out to me. I also wanted to highlight some lesser-known ones and give them some love! Hopefully this list was useful to some soul out there craving for some good stories about our girls. Happy reading! :)

It is unbearably quiet on tumblr lately, and what little talking there is, it's all about the next game. Yeah, we're no longer in 2012, I get it.
I'll just keep entertaining myself however I can.
I've always wanted to talk about one fic I secretly refer to as one of the hidden gems in the fenhawke archives. I have never ever seen anyone bring it up, and in all these years I've never dared to recommend it to anyone... Don't think you can even find it so easily? For good reason tbh...
Thing is, it's a fill for da kink community on livejournal. Anyone remember that place? The safe haven where anyone could anonimously submit the kinkiest most shameless things you could think of - offering prompts, filling them... Those were some desperate times when we were painfully low on content, and it was very hard to find something to read. Finding a story with characterization that suited your vision was near impossible!
I myself was desprate enough to brave through countless pages of imageries I could not stomach, skimming through them just to get the general idea until something captured my attention.
So I found this, and honestly, to this day to me it is one of the best examples of... idk, not just good characterization, but the overall feeling of the fenhawke relationship, why I can't let go of them after 12 years? It's all subjective, of course, but no fanfic ever resonated with me as deeply as this. Also back then mage Hawke was not very popular and most stories featured rogues... I used to be very sad and lonely!
Warning: it's extremely triggery. I wouldn't even recommend reading the first part at all, because it's too difficult and painful to get through. Hell, I couldn't read it! I was looking through the text very VERY briefly to get only the most basic and vague understanding of what was happening, and it was still hard! There is a lot of abuse, rape, slavery things...
To get the idea:
The Alone quest did not get resolved as planned. Danarius managed to win that battle, captured Fenris and returned to Tevinter, gravely injuring Hawke in the process (Fenris thought he was killed). To break the remains of his will, Danarius threatens to erase Fenris's memories of Hawke, and he succumbs and stops resisting altogether. I don't want to recall the details, but it was awful. Go straight to part 17 (it's a flashback) to read a very lovely take on fenhawke first night together. It's super sweet and gentle, though painfully sad in context. Still, beautiful. Well, it gets worse before it gets better! Somewhere in part 19 Fenris's friends come for him (they sailed all the way here on Isabela's new ship) and he's rescued. What follows is an exceptionally touching tender reunion with Hawke. Oh, and then, once all is settled comes the second part - All the King's men, which is much less controversial and fairly easy to read. Fenris copes with his experiences, and Hawke is always there for him. There are some truly fantastic moments as they slowly get close to each other again! Isabela is pretty great here, and Anders... sorta made me warm up to his character? And it's all fairly believable and close to how we see them in the game.
I'm saying all this and linking this fic on the off chance that someone with tastes similar to mine ever needs something like it. I know I am grateful it exists, and still hold it very dear to my heart. Definitely never regretted finding it!

dema you NEED to read this fanfic . by @nerdylizj
https://archiveofourown.org/works/57283453?view_adult=true&view_full_work=true
spoiler: BOOK 2 AU KYA AND LEE
I can't think of Kya and Lee without remembering ur masterpieces
Oh! This fic! I love it so so so so much! I've been following it since the first chapter, and already can't wait for the next. Baby Akio is such a cutie, the character conflict is treated wonderfully, and it has what's probably the very best use of amnesia in recent narrative I've ever seen.
It's a truly beautiful work, one of my favorites, and it's making me so happy to see all the love it's been receiving lately! ❤️

Love is about details - Zed Necrodopolis x fem!reader
Summary : On a Halloween night, you meet a boy that will soon become your best friend. Until feelings get in the way.
word count : 8.2k
My masterlist ! No major warnings, just reader having an existential crisis mid fic and Zed being a golden retriever.
(Autor's note) : I AM FINALLY ALIIIVVEEE !!! I am soo lazy, I've struggled so much to finish this one. And even when I get ideas, I always end up with those blank page syndrome or with too much drafts on my account.
I hope this fanfic will be liked by some of you, I don't really know where I was going at some point but I couldn't bring myself to delete and do something else ahah. I wanted to do a small fic... Well it ended up with 8k words. ENJOY!!
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
You never believed in love at first sight. Hell you even thought it was the most stupid thing the world ever created to entertain Terrians. Maybe you could be really attracted to someone at first sight, because ‘gorgeous’, surely, would be the first word coming to your mind while crossing path someone like Joshua Bassett. But to truly fell in love, you should be able to remember their eye color and describe it as something precious. Or so you thought.
Your first encounter with the boy you would fell in love with was on Halloween. Your friend group thought it would be funny to cross Seabrook’s border to enter Zombietown, something about showing each other that you weren’t chicken-hearted. A stupid teenage idea.
You weren’t interested in those things, but you followed your bestfriend who was a total lab nerd that would smash the Seabrook barrier to see a real zombie outside of your school. Natural habitat analysis thingy going on in her head.
It didn’t last long though, each and every person looked every two seconds behind them and jumped at every street common noise their hears caught.
They finally all went running back to the so called ‘normal side’ when a zombie, woman, screamed at them from the other side of the road. The sound as surprised you so much that your body frooze instantly. Your heart started beating even faster when the door near you suddenly oppened rapidly, making you jump and gasp.
Your eyes met one of a boy, it was easy enought to discern the surprised and concerned look on his face, his gaze looking strangly at you. You were disguised as a zombie for Halloween, well, the kind of zombie filmakers showed in their movies. Torn clothes, messy hair, pale skin with a lot of scars. Not really looking like the young zombie you had in front of you. Green hair styled with skills you surely did not have, grunge clothes, but a nice call on the pale skin.
"What are you doing here ?" His words came out skeptical, for what on earth would a human be on the wrong side of the wall. Well, there was Halloween of course, but nobody ever had the courage to come here.
He had caught on your dressing up, you were a convincing enought zombie for normal people, but not for a zombie apparently. He could admit that your make up was impressive, those scars looked real.
"Hm… Well with Halloween going on, my friends came to scare themself."
His eyebrows raised when you answered him. He was more prepared to receive a scream followed by one of the biggest sprint he’ll ever see. He looked from left to right, but found nothing other than his old, moldy town. "Seems like they got scared, right ?"
His conclusion got a chuckle out of your lips and you nodded your head, looking in the direction your friends took a run for their life. In the back of your mind, you thought about the fact they totally forgot to look out for you. They would be hearing about it for at least the next 10 years. "Yeah, they completely took a run for it."
Your eyes met his again, the situation was quite awkward. For him taking in the sight of a human in front of his house, and for you, who, for the love of the sky above, couldn’t even move to end this nightmare. "I should… Probably get going."
Your eyes lost their way on the scenery around, thinking that you should go home before everyone calls the police to get you out. Your parents would lose their head if they knew something had happened to you. You finally found in you the energy to move a foot when his hesitant voice stopped you.
"Can I ask for your name ?"
You turned around, returning to the spot you were so eager to leave. It took you a few seconds again to gather your thoughts. He wasn’t the one responsible for the fact you were right in front of his door, just stairs away from him. Maybe you were just disturbed by how calm you actually were. You were going to blame the Halloween effect on this one, green haired people weren’t that weird and scary compared to some costume people came up with.
"Huh yeah. I am Y/n." A breeze stopped your own question to let your name simmer in the air. The fact being that you were two people trying to get each other names after a weird encounter and not a girl and a zombie in that very moment felt like something you shouldn’t be allowed to do. Zombies were still hated by your people, they haven’t stopped talking trash about them even when they got welcomed in your school. Change must be scary for humans.
"And you ?" His own mouth went dry, maybe from the exact same fact you realised or from his father's voice hurrying him inside. His words got stuck for a time more, remembering his own name and yours.
"Zed. I am Zed Necrodopolis." He nodded to himself, at least he didn’t mispelled it nor hesitated too much. Zed was friendly to everyone, even when he started his first year at Seabrook high. Yet, having an intruder in Zombie Town had taken him aback, that was quite the shocker. He tried to remember if he ever saw you at school. No, he surely hasn’t… has he ?
A wave of your hand paused his thoughts. He waved goodbye back, looking at your silhouette. Once you were far enough and his father's voice loud enough, he came back inside his sweet little home.
Another idea occurred, did you even know where you were going ?
. . .
The few other encounters were less awkward.
After a good scare endured by your friends who thought you had been devoured by a thousand zombies, deserved. You had to go back to school, tossing aside your friend questions about how the zombie you talked to looked like, smelled like, dressed up like. You couldn’t remember a single thing, just a bunch of green hair that could be seen all around the school now. Or maybe, you just didn’t really want to talk about it.
You crossed paths with him, between classes and lunches. Both too hesitant to talk and too distracted by your talkative friends. You had waved, waved, and waved again at each other. He noticed how you would only use your right hand to greet him, and you acknowledged how dark colors were the ones that suited him most. Your wavery earned a gasp from your bestfriend and a side angry eye from the zombie girl following Zed around.
. . .
Grabbing the library table, your friend looked at you with the biggest eyes possible. "It was Zed Necrodopolis ?" Her voice whispered in disbelief.
She had finally noticed your wavering habits with the zombie after seeing him near the lockers on your way to the library, when you already had done it 10 times today.
You frowned, moving slightly your head like something would jump on you if you moved too much. "You know him ?"
She shook her head with her mouth open in shock, her eyes rolled back in her head. "He’s the one zombie who got into the football team ! Do you live under a rock ?"
"Since you forgot me back in Zombietown, yes. I feel much more secure." You slid your joke with a thin smile and a raise of your features to make your point and annoy her.
She breathed a quiet laugh in your direction with a smile. She was ready to get back at you when a voice interrupted her.
"Hi, sorry to disturb you both, can we sit here ?"
You two looked up from your conversation, locking your eyes with the ones you couldn’t escape even if you tried. Schools aren’t that big after all. Zed was standing here, a zombie girl clearly angry and a taller zombie boy with the biggest smile right next to him.
Your mouth oppened and closed a few times, your words hiding themself in the back of your throat instead of helping you in creating a sentence. You turned to your best friend and saw her eyes popped out of her face, her mouth wide open enough to swallow at least 3 whole families of flies. Her eyes stared in your direction, her face not moving an inche from her surprised and excited features. You didn’t need to ask for her permission, she would beg you to say yes. Slightly nervous, you faced Zed again who was waiting for you with a gentle smile.
"Yeah of course." You slided your chair closer to your wide eyed friend next to you to let the three zombies sit on the three available chair.
When they sat down, silence followed. Zed, who sat on your other side, looked at you with shy eyes. Something that cringed the girl with a messy bun. He discretly waved hello to you, a ritual that seemed to please him more than you could imagine. You waved back discretly, the tiniest ‘hi’ falling from your lips to greet him. His eyes quickly caught the color of your pencil case, f/c. Somehow, he felt like he could have guessed this as your favorite color.
A sigh caught everyone attention and the green haired girl crossed her arms. "Why are we even here ?"
Zed was quick to quiet down any fight he thought could happen due to his friend being grumpy and the two humans girls feeling hurt by her words. "To say Hi." He caught both your attention, introducing his friends. "This is Eliza, don’t mind her she is getting used to human, still. And this is my buddy Bonzo."
Bonzo smile grew even bigger, showing all of his teeth as he raised his hand to say what seemed to be a ‘hello’ or a ‘nice to meet you’ in zombie. Phrased by some ‘zogzigzargzog’, or maybe it was ‘zigzagzargzogzarg’, you couldn’t remember.
"What did he said ?!" Your friend high pitched voice surprised everyone, she was quick to react to Bonzo words. Her hand was nearly breaking her pen by squeazing it too much, her other hand flipping pages of a new notebook you had never seen.
"That’s Lucile. Sorry about her she just really loves zombies for some reasons..." You tried to ease their surprise by introducing your highly excited best friend who seemed to live her biggest dream.
"That’s completely fine." Surprisingly, his words gently eased your mind. Maybe handling both girls wouldn’t be that hard. "He said ‘pleasure to meet you both’. "
You heard her excited gasp before she started writing what she heard. How could she even remember what the other boy said ?
"I only wrote what I heard but could you check ?" Her question was more of an affirmation as she slided her notebook right into Zed’s hands, passing it in front of you. He was careful not to disturb your work while grabbing the book.
His dark orbs looked at you with an amused grin before asking for a pencil, which Lucile gladly and almost throwed at him in a hurry. Getting a scared ‘Jesus !’ from you. "You heard it right, but if I may, here’s the zombie way of writing it."
When he handed it back to her, you were sure she was going to explode on the spot. "You guys have a whole different alphabet to speak zombie ?!"
Zed seemed proud of her reaction, he was cute. You could see in the corner of your eyes Eliza slowly relaxing herself. Maybe she had been worried that you would be as mean as the cheerleaders when they first arrived.
"And twenty-three different ways to write the word ‘brain’. " His head nooded to her in affirmation.
"Oh my god this is awesome ! If you guys can teach me all about it somedays, I want to know everything !"
"We’ll be glad, right ?" He turned to his friends. Bonzo cheered with his usual bright smile while Eliza shrugged her shoulders, mumbling a 'why not'.
You smiled at them, happy that everyone seemed to get quite along for a first encounter. You felt like you didn’t know how to act around Zed, for a fact, you didn’t know each other except for those stolen hi’s after all. You could say that socializing wasn’t really something you were good at.
Zed seemed to notice your shyness, maybe he could help you by showing his friendly side. "Your friend seems great. She’s funny."
You looked up to see his brown eyes looking at you. For some reasons, you were sure that that one sunray directed right to his left eye was there on purpose. "Yeah, she’s the best."
Zed had made the first step toward you, hoping to see bloom a friendship between the fake zombie girl he had seen on his doorstep and himself.
Mainly thanks to Lucile and her inconditional love for zombies, she got the three of them to stay at your table for an hour.
. . .
Day after day, you were gradually seen hanging out with Zed and his crew along with Lucile more and more. Forming a lovely mixed group of five.
You opened up slowly, and conversation started to feel more natural once you knew each zombie better. You didn’t need Zed’s help anymore to feel comfortable, your questionable jokes already sliding in each and every sentence you could form.
Bonzo and Eliza seemed to like you both, even if you couldn’t communicate with the taller boy. You still found ways to understand him and he did the same. Eliza and Lucile both fell for their nerd side, not looking like total polar opposite anymore. Eliza being a zombie was Lucile fuel for knowledge and Lucile being always impressed by Eliza knowledge and technology made her feel understood.
Fast enought, without anyone questioning or noticing it, every single second you could spend glued to Zed became your mission number one every day. You had your routines, your habits, and somehow in the mist of it all, the jocks found his way to be your new and unique routine.
The same could be said for him. Even if Zed would never be ruled by any routines, having you and Lucile gang up with Eliza and Bonzo went from something nice to his essential. Even when the group couldn’t be together, the boy always found his way to you and you to him. He somehow quickly noticed your love for quiet places and books, which made it easier to find you. You were, too, quick to find Zed everytime you were looking for him. His loud voice and love for football were easy enough to spot in every room he could be in.
Free hours in school were spend in his company, lunches were eaten right next to him just so you could mock his choice of food, and you surprised yourself with even seeing him on weekends. Zombies had won freedom for their own actions, seeing your friends was now a piece of cake. You started with simple hang outs with everyone to going to Zed’s house, him to yours, and even to include ice cream rituals in town. You could never be thankful enough for those, especially for the coach's peanut butter n’ bones ice cream.
Your parents never saw you out of the house this often, you could even say that your mom had started to grow a soft spot for the green haired jock. Something you would have gladly erased from your memories if not for those family meal where his name seemed to always end up in.
. . .
That’s why you never believed in love at first sight. For you, you had to know the person, hang out with them and remember everything special about them. You could never have fallen in love by just seeing Zed for the first time next to his crusty door. You believed that love was about details. And this belief would be the one hitting you full speed right in the guts.
. . .
"How can you say that zombies have different eye colors ? They are all bloody brown !" Lucile hands fell on her thighs, smacking them in the process with exasperation.
Your best friend sitting on your bed had talked about her zombie knowledge again for the past twenty minutes, a knowledge you had started to be really interested in recently. She’ll never mention it, but it surprised her when you suddenly asked about their language, culture and even tradition.
You knew a bunch, thanks to your zombies buddies, but Lucile was a goldmine of information. If you wanted to know anything without sounding too weird or suspicious, you knew she was your best option.
Today’s new debate started when Lucile talked about physical differences between zombies, noticing how all hairs weren't exactly the same shade of green. However, she had maintained her statement about their eyes being only a very dark brown.
"No they are not. There are different shades too." You contradicted her again, looking at her notes and judging some of them as enormous lies, just the hater you were.
"Okay, give me an exemple." She moved her hand to invite you to elaborate your point of view, obviously curious to know why you were so reactive to this fact and not any other ones.
"It’s true that Bonzo and Eliza have dark eyes, but Zed doesn’t."
"Oh he does."
"No he does not." You looked at the ceiling, starting to feel frustrated. You let Lucile’s zombies notebook fall on your bed right in front of you both. You chewed your bottom lip before speaking again, your eyes looking at every detail of your room and not at your best friend, who’s gaze didn’t leave you for a second. "Zed’s… Well his eyes are slightly the same color as milk chocolate, only a little darker I'll give you that. And when the sun hits them, they glow with this orangy brown color Like those pictures you find when typing ‘autumn forest’ on google. Seriously, it’s funny when you think about it."
You looked at your fingers, not giving more thoughts to what you just said. Lucile though, looked at you like you were talking crazy. Her famous wide open mouth and her frowned eyebrows couldn’t believe what she just heard. She knew what you thought about boys or romance, luckily her brain was quick to connect the dots. You always talked about details, for you, love should be remembering their eye color and describing it as something precious. You once told her.
She silenced her gasp, finally understanding why you changed so much recently and why zombies suddenly got your interest when you couldn’t care less before. She never gave second thoughts about your relation with Zed, you both were really good friends who liked to hang out often, if not every single day. (Weird ) And friends who, she thought, were glued by the hips like twins would. But maybe this closeness, at a point in time, crossed a line even you haven’t noticed.
"Pause Y/n, Pause." The sudden seriousness in her tone made you perk up from your nail analysis. You had never seen a face like that on her. It made you overthink the words you have just spoken, could you had said something wrong ?
"Did you heard yourself ?"
"W-What ?"
"I am not angry, nor frustrated, nor scolding you." She tried to easy your mind. "I am only asking, did you heard yourself ?"
"What ? That Zed’s eyes looks like dumb autumn forest pictures ?"
She nodded slowly, biting both her lips in a thin line. "Can you now remind me what you always said about remembering someone’s eyes color."
You felt as if your brain spun on itself and gave your whole body a warning sign while ringing simultaneously the biggest bell that could exist. You gasped loudly, your hands flying fast to cover your mouth. "You are shitting me."
"YOU are shitting me ! Since when ?"
You stood up from your bed, realization striking you. You felt the air becoming colder in your lungs with your heart beating crazier than when it’s an exam day. Your hands felt cold, than hot, than cold, than hot again. You looked back at Lucile who was just as surprised as you, just less freaked out.
"I don’t know ! Oh god it’s bad." You were starting to feel too freaked out by this new revelation. Luckily, the scent of your room and being a calm person on a daily basis helped you step out of your mind roller coaster faster.
"I mean, you always go out together. Maybe that made it harder to notice."
Another, but tiniest, gasp escaped you. "We have an ice cream thingy tomorrow." Lucile could hear tiny ‘it’s bad’ coming from you and ‘oh god’ ‘s.
"I never undertood that ritual, every week ? Ice cream ?"
"You’re right, I am calling in sick. " You were ready to grab your phone when she snatched it away.
"First, we are going to talk about this, analyze things and won’t freak out, okay ? It is not as bad as it looks."
"I am not that freaked out, and yes it is bad. Not falling for your, other, best friend is like an unbreakable rule."
"So you are in love with Zed ?"
"I absolutely did not say that."
The girl frowned again, even with your calm demeanor you stayed in a total denial mindset. You always loved romance, but it seemed like it wasn’t the thing you were expecting to crash into your life right now. Or maybe your weren’t expecting to fall for Zed. She stretched out her hand for you to take, encouraging you to come back on the bed. You sighed, taking it before sitting back on your bed, a light sadness building in your chest.
"Can we talk about zombies culture instead ?"
"If you want, but before we’re going to dig into that little heart attack moment you just had."
"It’s just… Like I said, we’ve been like best friends lately and I just feel like I am betraying him." Your eyes met hers, a sad expression painting your features. "It’s like I am asking too much out of him. We’re friends, and now feelings get in the way and I’ll start acting weird because now I am aware of it. And what if I get even more into my head and he just feels weirded out, rejects me of some sort. I still want to hang out with him."
"Wow you got the time to think about all of that in just a minute ?" Her sentence teared the tiniest chuckle out of your lips. Lucile squeezed your hand, trying to keep you grounded in any ways she could. "I think you should be kinder to yourself. It happens to fall for friends, even if it changes things, ultimately. It is not a bad thing."
"Why him though … ?" Your question was more of a frustrated and sulking sentence to show how surprised you were.
She laughed. "I should ask you girl !"
And you followed her laughter. Maybe you got ahead of yourself and got slightly carried away by the new realisation, just maybe. You talked a bit more with Lucile, and you were thankful for her patience and the way she understood your point of view. Even if she thought that Zed looked like a very green and moldy potato, which made you laugh. She even teased you by saying how your mom would be happy to hear the news, making you grunt another slight laugh.
You knew the boy for nearly a year now, blossoming feelings shouldn’t be surprising when you knew deep down how good he looked. Getting to know each other and your souls clicking together like you just lost a thousand years finding the person that could make you spit out your whole stomach laughing along with flipping your whole mood upside down with just a word should have been a warning sign. You had fallen in love with Zed Nerodopolis.
. . .
The next day went smoothly, even if you had to mentally scold yourself every now and then because you kept looking at Zed for no reasons. You tried to brush your new feelings off, acting like usual with maybe less confidence.
He noticed, and you hopped it was just once. "Do I have some ice cream left on my face ?" A finger pointed toward his face, he stared at you.
"Nop. Not at all."
"Oh, I thought. Since you can’t stop staring." You caught on his teasing tone, his smile already trying to get under your skin just so you would say something back to him.
Usually, you would have laughed and made fun of him for suspecting you of staring. But now, all his sentences and smirks did were increasing your heartbeat and wished that your cheeks haven’t turned a deeper shade of red.
. . .
The next week at school, you thought you were doing a good job at hiding anything your heart was begging to let out. You denied with force the fact you avoided your usual safe spots to study or read, knowing full well Zed would be waiting or searching for you there. You couldn’t avoid him everywhere and everytime though, you both were too familiar with each other schedule and you could tell the boy sensed something different coming from you.
Trouble knocked at your door when Eliza found you in a room you wouldn’t usually want to be, the cheerleaders rest room. Bree offered you this refuge when Bucky and his henchmen weren’t around, nobody ever spilled the beans and you were grateful for that.
The door opened with a certain force and hurry, making you jump on your sit. Eliza stared right into your soul and a long silence followed before her voice came out of her throat.
"What is going on ?"
"What ?"
"Please don’t play dumb with me." She closed the door behind her, guarding the entrance to prevent any escape tricks from you. "Zed’s been whining all day long because you are avoiding him."
"I am not, we just saw each other." Lying wasn’t your best ability but you still tried to convince her of your enormous lie.
"According to him, he haven’t seen you since lunch." Her eyes were big, and it felt like your mom was giving you a life lesson. With this eye contact, you knew she wouldn’t be fooled by you. You always spend the next hour with Zed because of your free period in common. And for some reason, you could tell everyone noticed your change in character, even if you had tried to minimize it. "And we both know that you’ve been very discret and absent lately." And here it goes, you were doomed. "I’ll ask again, what is going on ?"
You growned in frustration and embarassement. "I don’t want to talk about it..." Running a hand over your face, you closed your laptop tossing it in your bag.
You didn’t see Eliza concerned look. "Is it something serious ? About your family or did something bad happened ?"
You were grateful for her concern, it showed you once more that the girl you first met in the library was now one of your friends.
"No, no. Nothing major. Just something really troublesome for me."
"And it has to do with Zed ?"
"H-How do you even get there when asking for my family seconds ago ?" You blushed once more, wishing you would have wore a turtleneck sweater to hide your face.
"I promise I won’t tell him, I just think we could all help you if we had some idea of what’s happening." Even trapped in the room you would have thought of a good hiding place, you knew Eliza was telling the truth and genuinely wanted to help you. You were thankful for Lucile too who haven’t said anything. With all the time she spends with the zombie girl, you always wondered if she could have let it slipped up accidentally.
You sighed, fighting your own hesitation about telling the truth or denying your crush for the rest of your life. Maybe it was time to take a step forward and get some advice from someone who knew Zed for a long time.
"I like him." You were quick to pronounce those words, afraid they would run away from you and make you lose your courage.
Eliza surprised face chased away the words she was about to say, ‘yeah, we know.’ The look on your face showed her it wasn’t the type of like you used to feel month before.
"Oh, like… Love like ?"
"I know I shouldn’t."
"I did not said that."
You pursed your lips, averting your eyes from hers. Somehow, telling Zed’s long time best friend your feelings for him was as hard, not really, as telling him. You were scared of Eliza already knowing the boy opinion on the question and that her words would come and cut every string you had tightly knotted.
"You’ve realised it last week ?" Your head nodding to her words confirmed her suspicions. After all, you’ve started making yourself more discreet a week ago. "And why not telling him ?"
"We’re best friend ! It will ruin our friendship for sure."
"And if it does not ? Maybe he feels something for you too." She didn’t want to talk for Zed, but she knew him. Even without telling her a word of his feelings, she noticed how he cared and looked out for you. If he wasn’t even the tiniest bit in love… Well screw him.
"He does not."
It felt like talking you out of your thoughts was out of the question. "If you say so, but I am warning you, he is behind the door and ready to follow you for the rest of the day."
You chuckled, shaking your head at the image of Zed almost going crazy behind the door. "I am ready for it captain."
Eliza sighed desperately at your words while you stood up, opening the door to reveal a Zed who haven't heard a thing from your girl talk.
"Oh my god finally ! I was starting to think that I should add you on my Christmas wish list to see you again." The zombie girl nearly got the time to step out of the room when the boy charged in to stand himself right in front of you.
"So I am a Christmas present now ? I knew you wanted me." His rolling eyes and frustrated features won a giggle out of you. At least your feelings didn’t wipe out your sense of humor.
"On a serious note, is everything okay ? » His tone instantly made your amused smile drop, you could see the worry in his eyes and what your avoidance made him experience. You felt like a fool.
"Yes, I promise. I just had a lot on my mind recently, but now I realise, nothing worth putting my friends aside."
Eliza stayed out of view but heard your words, it made a sweet smile grew on her lips.
"Of course it wasn’t worth, should I remember you that we are the best ?" He waited for you to confirm his words and your shaking, amused head gave him just that.
"Yes, I am sorry. Come here stinky dork." Your circled his body with your arms right below his chest to encourage him into a hug.
He chuckled at your attitude, something he had missed over the past days. His own arms came around your shoulders to pull your head into his chest, ever so careful to never squeeze you too hard.
Eliza cough made him turn his head and your own tried to look at the girl by sticking out your head from his warm hug.
"Don’t forget about the zombie party tonight." She raised her eyebrow at her zombie fella.
"Of course I won’t." His smile and nod was her cue to leave.
"You guys are having a party in Zombietown ?"
His gaze came right back to you. "Yes, I was going to invite you."
"And what made you wait that long ? " Your quirked eyebrow painted his face with false surprise, tease floating all around in the air. You freed yourself from his grasp, crossing your arms on your chest.
"Huh, I don’t know, maybe the fact that I couldn’t find you around school anymore ?"
"I deserve that one. But you could have texted me."
"I am a gentleman. If I ask a girl out, I at least put the tiniest bit of effort."
"That is the tiniest bit of effort for sure. Where are the flowers and the knee on the ground to beg me to accompany you ?"
He shook his head and his right arm came back on your shoulder to bring your body out of the room with him. "I am still pretty hurt by having been pushed away by my bestest friend, so no flowers and no chivalry demand for you. Maybe a next time. "
"So there will be a next time ?" Your sly smirk reminded him of why you both were impossible to put up with when together. The endless back and worth was inevitable. It almost looked like the other would lose the biggest battle of their life if they didn’t respond.
"You hope for a next time huh ? I got you girl." You called it quit on that one when you felt your heart scream, yet again, for the fourth time since the conversation started .
. . .
The day soon came to an end, and you heard your mother's voice calling you from downstairs.
"Comin’ !"
You applied another spray of perfume before going down the stairs at a rapid pace, the entrance hall already opened to let you take in the sight of a waiting Zed.
"Here you are honey." Your mother rested a hand on your shoulder when your body stopped next to her. She surely had been talking with Zed while you were in the bathroom. "I wish you both a good time, but be home before midnight, got it ?"
"No problem Mrs.L/n, I am sure we’ll be home before midnight since she gets sleepy pretty quickly." His eyes shared a reassuring look to your mother, but you knew better than to be fooled by a Necrodopolis. You could see under this sweet and gentleman smile of his that he was gently making fun of you.
"I am pretty sure I will not." You retorted, your head moving childishly.
Zed was amused by your usual picked on reaction and smiled even more. You didn’t noticed it, nor him, but your mother quickly looked at the both of you with a suspicious look. She was used to your forever gentle bickering with the zombie, but she could swore she felt something unusual.
"Even though, midnight it is." You mumbled a fake annoyed ‘Yes mom’ before taking your leave with the boy right next to you.
The walk until Zombietown was filled with lively conversations, yet again, reminding yourself not to look too closely or too often slipped your mind every single time.
"I can’t wait, zombies party really are the best."
"I am glad you think that. I am pretty sure the first time I brought you to one you almost got a heart attack."
He didn’t mean to fully tease you, but you took the bait anyway. "You know I can’t really handle a lot of people ! But now it’s okay, I am used to it." You tried not to sulk, even the slightest, but you still huffed like a sulking puppy.
He smiled, feeling his chest warm up in your presence each step he took. The week he spends, mostly, without you almost got him into a crazy teenage frenzy. He felt like he had lost his north star and that no path could ever bring him back to you. He had wondered, just for a second, if the feelings he felt for you could be painted by many other meanings. But as a best friend, he denied them and acted like nothing changed.
"We’re here, let’s go inside."
To be sure you wouldn’t get lost or trapped in a wave of young zombies, he took your hand in his, clearing a path for you while he had tucked you closer to him.
In the middle of it all, you could have swore your eyes caught a glimpse of Eliza bun. You were quickly diverted from that thought by Zed who tried to find a quieter spot for you to enjoy the party. The old building room was crowded, he opted for a spot near the huge escape door, enough for you to enjoy the musics and people energy without getting overwhelmed. However his attempt drowned as quickly as he got to the corner he wanted when you spotted Bonzo.
"Look it’s Bonzo mixing ! Let’s get closer !"
"Don’t you prefer to stay here ?" His hand prevented you from leaving without him.
You turned around, realizing he just did all this room search for you. You felt your heart flipping in your chest along with you cheeks turning slightly pink, that detail had completely gone over your head.
"For this once, I’ll take the zombie heat full speed ! Come on !"
You dragged the boy along with you while he murmured ‘Why don’t you take my heat full speed’ under his breath, a sentence you couldn’t possibly hear with all that noise. Once near the stage, the boy you were excited to see locked eyes with you and started waving at you two.
"Y/n’ska !" His voice got caught by his microphone making you laught. You raised your free hand as high as you could, waving it and cheering for him. He greeted you with a tumb up before turnig his attention back on his tech.
You turned your head to center your attention on Zed again, only to see his gaze already focused on you. For some reason, it felt like his eyes haven’t left you even when you had waved to Bonzo. Your lungs warned you of a lack of air before new notes of musics reached your ears. A gasp made you breath again and a look of excitement took over your features when your head turned in every direction to look at the old speakers.
"Oh my god it’s that song from Hotel Transylvania !" Your hand let go of Zed’s, only acknowledging the fact that you didn’t let go sooner now. "They usually don’t play that kind of songs." You offered him a confused look, only for his smile to grow wider. You remembered yourself vibing to the song before the lyrics laughed at you because you were, indeed, in love with a monster now.
"I may or may not gave some of your playlist to Bonzo." His voice perfectly covered the song, making you able to only hear him.
You felt the floor slip under your shoes even if your body didn’t move an inch. "Why would you do that ?"
"Because I know how much you love the songs you listen to on a daily basis. I just thought it would make you happy to hear them here too."
‘Cause I’m in love with a monster.
You bit your lower lips, your heart ready to explode. You were going to let ip slip up, the words threatened to blurp out.
Friends say I’m stupid and I’m out of my mind, but without you boy I’d be bored all the time.
"You dance ?" You offered him the same hand you had taken away from him.
"How could I say no."
Everyone danced around you and Zed and even if you weren’t that good of a dancer, you allowed yourself to bounce around like you would do in your room. Your partner successfully made you drop some coordinated moves along with him. For a few seconds, it didn’t felt like a huge and moldy old building filled with hormones and sweats. You were in your own little world where only your best friend was allowed to appear when he made you twirl and move along with him.
The song soon ended to reveal another one that you knew a little bit too well. You turned around once more to look at Bonzo vibing behind his soundboard. Zed took the chance to offer a thumb up to his bro who looked up for a second, he quickly hid his hand when you looked once again at him.
"You’re joking..." Your voice wasn’t audible with all the fuss, and he didn’t noticed your lips slightly moving with intoxicating emotions.
"What ? Told you we choose some of your favorite songs !"
He was doing it on purpose, he had to. His voice started to sing along with the song, both his hands now holding yours to make you dance out of you surprise.
A shaky sigh escaped from your mouth, you weren’t sure your body could follow more of his tricks and energy, nonetheless, you tried to dance a bit more.
‘You and me belong together all the time.’
Soon his energy got to you, and you couldn’t help but sing along as he made you twirl more and swing from left to right. You laughed a few times when his foot got tangled in the weird choreography of other people, making him move a bit less for a few seconds.
His body towered over you, and he leaned closer to sing along with your voice, "This love is all we need !" He seemed so happy, so caught up in what was hapenning. He enjoyed this moment with you, he even went as far as asking Bonzo to add songs you loved to the party. It was the details even you didn’t notice, how on the way here he had looked to see if you weren’t cold, how he had searched for a quiet place so you wouldn’t get overwhelmed. How he remembered and kept the playlist you showed him.
And from those little things, greater gesture from him came to your mind. You weren’t the only one paying attention to all the little things about him, he was paying attention to you too.
Screw your denial, you couldn’t take it anymore. You couldn’t hide nor lie a second more, your body wouldn’t allow it. « Gar gargiza ! »
Zed had stopped moving nearly at the same time as you, his eyes widened with his mouth slightly open in shock. He felt his mouth turning dry, yet, he swallowed what seemed litres of saliva. "What did you say ?" He had to make sure, he had to hear it again.
You bit your lower lip, frustrated and scared, your body slightly shaking. "Gar gargiza you dumbass !"
"You know what that means right ?"
"Oh my god I am going to kill you ! I love you Zed, and I am going crazy about it !"
As soon as the word left your lips, his arms quickly squeezed you in the biggest, neediest hug you had ever received. You squeezed him as hard as you could before he, as quickly, pushed you from him, his hands tightly holding your arms.
"Tell me I can kiss you." You eyes widened at his words, and the seconds you took to respond were enough to burn out his patience. "Please." He begged.
You felt an urge, the same one Zed’s was trying to suppress to give you space and time to think. Your hands reached to his neck, landing on his skin as you stood on you tiptoe in a quick motion. Your lips touched his. It was a rushed move that ended as soon as you tasted him. However, he didn’t want to let you go just yet. His own hands rapidly but gently grabbed the back of your head to stop you from moving too far away from him, and with a last glance at your sparkling eyes, he kissed you. This time longer, sweeter. He wanted to remember the taste of your fragile lips, he wanted to stay connected to you as long as he could. He was tender and soft against you, keeping you close yet never too strongly so you could stop him at any given moment.
He felt his last bit of control being sucked out of him when your lips moved against his. He parted from you, against his will, your eyes almost pulling him again in your touch. He looked all around him, and you wondered what was happening. Your brain had completely pushed the off button and you were barely emerging from your ecstasy when Zed hand tugged you across the room.
"W-Where are we going ?"
It took him only a few seconds to find the exit. "Sorry to drag you out, but I can’t stay in there."
You soon found yourself in a smaller room that still seemed pretty big for both of you. He turned around to face you, his hand pulling you against him as his forehead touched yours. "I love you Y/n, so so much. I don’t know why it even took so long for me to say it."
His words hit you like a truck, he had rushed you out but you now understood why. You too wanted a moment alone with him, to finally know what it feels to be loved by him. What it feels to be loved by you.
"Maybe the fact that I avoided you because I was scared of my own feelings." You breathed heavily because of the run the boy put you through, it was hard to follow mister long legs with your tiny ones.
He laughed at the inside joke you made, remembering how he had bugged you about that exact fact today. "You were ?"
"Didn’t want to lose my best friend." You confessed with teary shining eyes. Even if it wasn’t the case anymore, you could have lost him back there. His hands made their way to your cheeks, smoothing the skin under your eyes to chase any tears that threatened to pour.
"Me too." His voice admitted soon after you. "But look, now you have a lover who happens to be your best friend of all time."
You exhaled an amused breath. "Girlfriend boyfriend huh ?" You wanted to keep on saying those words, and you wanted him to keep on approving what you thought.
Luckily, Zed knew you like the back of his hand and was aware of the things going through your head. "Y/n L/n, my sweet and beautiful girlfriend." He won another shaky smile from you. "Come here gorgeous, I haven’t had enought of your kisses."
With the slightest force, he brought your face to his to smother your lips with a million kisses. It made you laugh against his skin, and he soon pampered kisses all over your face.
"S-Stop ahah !"
"Never."
Your hands grabbed his wrist to show your, non-existent, protest. When he attacked your lips again with quick kisses, your own opened to surprise him with a bigger and even more needy kiss. Your move worked as his face stepped back with a really surprised look.
"What was that ?"
"What was what ? " You played dumb, earning a childish smile from him.
"What was that big kiss just now ? Were you trying to bite me ?" He kissed the corner of your mouth, giggling with you.
You took him in your arms, resting your head on his chest. His breathing appeased your emotions and thoughts, and you sensed the same could be said for him as his head came to rest on yours.
"Can I sleep at you place tonight ?" His demand was quiet.
"You’ll have to ask my mom."
"She loves me, of course it's going to be yes."
You sighed, of course she would say yes to Zed, it was Zed."She spoils you too much... "

And I think I want you to be the first one to know that now I'm trying to write too. Your work has been inspiring to me. Writing stories used to be my hobby that was abandoned for like years. After I read yours, I can feel that spark coming again and I think I want to start again. Thank you Alodra, may you always have a good day/night! love you!
Hiii, pookie!! Thank you so much for the ask!! 🥰 I also want to apologize for how long it’s taken me to answer it. I got behind with a lot of asks and other notifs, but thank you so much for asking how I’ve been lately! I’ve been doing great so far. It’s autumn time, which is my fav season of the year followed by winter, so I feel like I’m thriving 😊 ✨How have you been? I hope you’ve been doing well!!!
Aww, thank you!! First, I’m so happy that you’ve enjoyed NC!! I hope you continue to do so, but OMG POOKIE? YOU’RE WRITING?? YOU FEEL A ✨SPARK✨?? BECAUSE OF MY WORK??
That’s one of the KINDEST and SWEETEST COMPLIMENTS I’ve received as a fanfic writer!!! I’m touched that my writing has inspired you to pick up this lovely hobby again, seriously!! So, thank you for sharing 🥹 If you happen to post it here on Tumblr, pls tag me, pookie (or let me know if you have it on AO3). I’d love to read it and show it some love!!
I’m so excited for you!! I remember there were so many times I had to abandon writing to focus on other things, primarily school, and whenever I felt that spark come back to me - !! It’s one of the best feelings ever (same as now when I get ideas and I get all excited to write). I hope you have a lot of fun writing, pookie, and don’t forget to just let your creativity flow!!
Aww, thank you!! I hope you always have a wonderful day/night, too!! Pls take care!! Love you!!!💖💖

TOP 10 favourite AA fanfics? (if you have one)
Oh hello xD That's a great blog name! Does that mean more questions will follow ._.?
Anyways, my reading speed has taken a nosedive as of late; too many things have been going on and I'm trying to stick to my own writing schedule too... so my recs remain mostly the same as the previous times I've been asked. Still, here are a few of my faves:
Bury Me in the Shadows of Spring & My Yellow Light in Your Soft Whispers by @annawayne . Features some of the most compelling story-telling I've ever seen. The former is a historic AU set in the 1920s and holy shit the immersion? Anna comes armed with a deep, impressive knowledge base of history and so the fic takes you straight back in time, as if you were standing in the time period itself. BMSS is a story carrying very heavy themes, and the dive into the character's psyches is simply stellar.
As for the latter, a post-canon fic set 10 years after the Rumbling, MYLYSW is a story that takes an in-depth study into the ways that an intensely traumatic event can affect people - both the victims and of those around them. It's a wonderful telling of grief, heartache, unresolved ghosts from the past, with stunning imagery and descriptive writing. :3
Black Water & everything else in @distortedclouds 's collection. BW is, as another reader very aptly put it, the single best take I've seen on Annie's relationship with her father, and how it affects Aruani's relationship. Clouds' mastery in prose and narration is on a whole other level, and every chapter literally hurts your bones. Aside from that, all the other fics in the collection are simply wonderful reads, with everything ranging from fluff to angst to smut and everything in between! My wife is very talented you see :3 Unparalleled!
Little Bird by @aquietjune . Simply a fantastic Annie-centric post-canon story, with writing skills that simply leave you in awe. June takes a deep dive into many of Annie's issues and problems that are still left unresolved, though the world may be rid of titans. Her dedication to period-appropriate research, and the how's and why's of in-world problems make the story a truly delightful experience, and coupled with her talent of being able to tell so much in so few words, this remains one of the best post-canon fics I've ever read. Please also check out her other works, she has an uncanny ability to make you laugh until your sides hurt xD
Coveted by @honeytheriot . One of the first aruani fics I read after the S4 P3 P1 dropped in March 2023, and holy shit xD Every chapter is a smut-filled goodness and delight, and honeyriot makes it WORK with her writing!
Children of War by @/SeaTempest . Primarily a Jeanpiku fic with Aruani as a side-couple, this fic features some of the best writing I've ever seen. Smooth prose and convincing post-canon world-building, plus very good character monologues?? Hell yeah. Hasn't been updated in a while, but has plenty of content, absolutely worth a read.
Tater Tots & Heavy Thoughts by Anonymous and everything in this collection. TT&HT is a modern AU Aruani fic primarily from Armin's POV, dealing with some very dark and heavy subject matter. The writing is really good, and while I haven't caught upto later chapters, I highly recommend it. The other fics in the collection are great too :3
There are many more tbh, but my head is mushy for the moment xD However, I'll add some fics I've been following as of late!
on the path that led me to you by @the-last-thread-of-my-sanity & By Each Crime and Kindness (I'm bound to you) by @aruanimess - two Cadet Aruani fics taking place that are an absolute delight to read! Wonderful writing, wonderful characterization, lots of fluff, and the impending doom of angst~
Who painted the sky? by @dudewhy3 & Hiding in Plain Sight by @midnightraine131, two Modern AU fics that take a look into the issues Aruani deal with from their past, in a modern real-world setting. Engaging and fun, with sprinkles of heavy angst now and then.
A Force To Be Reckoned by @luciensdefenseattorney . Inspired by Bridgerton, this is a wonderfully written and highly engaging Aruani fic set in the regency era. You just want Armin and Annie to kiss and find out all about each other already.
Legends by @mimiwrites2000-fun . Canon-divergence and wonderfully written, this is an Aruani fic spanning 32 chapters and counting! Lots of emotional, heart-wrenching moments, Mimi is a writer who embraces angst with a passion and doesn't shy away from hurting you T^T
#I have to catch up with the latest updates on many of these#T_T#please have patience with me#I'm doing my best!#ask#askingtheaafandomquestions#aruani#attack on titan#fic rec#aruani fic#armin arlert#annie leonhart#armin x annie#aruannie

YANDERE ASIA: MONGOLIA
yet another non-canon character. i'm trying to mature my writing style a little bit? i started this blog when i was pretty young but i wanna start exploring dialogue, very mild spice and darker themes. would love some feedback!
honestly so obsessed with non-canon character atm especially mongolia (mostly cuz of an oc but i digress), was going to release all of east/south asia at once, but started on mongolia's and it got too long. the characterisation i've done is a combination of fanfics i've read over the years and my own thoughts.
i will literally combust if anyone else starts writing for mongolia man i am STARVED
tw. yandere toxicity, mild suggestive themes, reference to the mongol empire(?)
MONGOLIA (Temüülen Mönkhbataar)
• Temüülen was once an empire of unimaginable size, and as is, with most once great powers, wants to exert as much control over his dearest as possible. His darling's position be damned, he wants them to submit to him (whether that be as a lover, mentor, or all of the above), and god fucking dammit he won't be content until they do. • Others might view his behaviour as Temüülen clinging on to any semblance of power, and truly, deep down, many of his desire is fueled by a lingering want for power, Temüülen fully believes that he's this great protector and guidance in his darlings life. • He's not delusional in any way, Temüülen realises that they might not particularly revel in his presence, but life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, his dearest doesn't have to be happy with him for Temüülen to be content. Many nations aren't always comfortable with their company, but at least Temüülen has their best interests at heart! (unlike China or America, who would only ever use them as a political pawn). He likes to tell them this, how much worse it could be, so stop complaining and read those damn papers your boss sent you to him already- • Truth be told, he likes a bit of fear in them. Temüülen has no shame in using his past to scare them into submission, if diplomacy doesn't fair well.
"you know, erkhem, if you had the gall to complain like this during the great mongol state, i would have had every right to flog you" temüülen spoke in their ear quietly, not in a whisper, yet not so loud that anyone else could have heard him "until you were begging for me to stop" he added, the contrast of his warm breath against their chilled skin sending shivers down their spine.
temüülen's cold, calloused hands gripped onto their gloved ones, re-aligning to nock to the bowstring "you wouldn't have survived a day in the old steppes, with a grip this poor.." the mongol trailed off, his hands moving to either side of their back and chest, forcefully straightening their posture
his eyes narrowed as they drew the bow, waiting for them to reach the anchor point, his disappointment evident as they began aiming "teneg!" he snapped, gripping on to their bow arm, forcing them to fully anchor the weapon "now aim" he quipped, taking a step backwards, following their gaze "higher" they slouched again as they attempted to aim towards the target "posture" he raised an eyebrow
the mongol's eyes didn't leave their figure as they released the arrow, admiring his job, if only they took his opinions on everything in their life this seriously.
• He told himself he'd be content when they accepted him as their mentor... yet it just wasn't enough. Temüülen wanted to be closer to them, he wanted to be the closest to them. He had always thought matters of the heart to be frivolous, something that fatuous nations did to satisfy their own mortal desires. Temüülen knew he was better then that, definately, but was his darling? • If... they were going to pursue an intimate connection with another, would it not be safer for him to be the one they pursue it with; instead of some self serving stranger who would only use his dearest for their own gain? This is Temüülen's reasoning for courting them, no matter their relation to him or anyone else, in his mind, he's the only one with pure intentions. • Temüülen isn't so experienced in romancing as he is in carnal desire, but even then, this is dating back to his days as an empire, which have long passed. To his darling it appears as if he's approaching them for a singular night of salacious intimacy, yet whether they would welcome the advances or not, their body would never be just theirs again. • He feels entitled to stick into every aspect of their life, from national to personal, to physical affairs, damned if they want him there or not, they'll just have to learnt to like it
there they were, once again confining themselves to their study; sedantrists, he thought to himself, no connection to the real world. temüülen glanced at the clock, 12:49 am, yet they were still 'working'. "what could possibly be keeping you occupied for hours on end" he tutted, poking his head through the doorway.
they shrugged their shoulders, making a noise that suggested they didn't have a good answer. "erkhem" the dark haired man continued into the study, reaching down to grip their arm as he came next to them "did nobody ever tell you to speak when spoken to"
temüülen gaged their reaction, the disturbed look on their face almost satisfying "did no one ever tell you to knock before you enter a room; or, deep down, are you still the same, uncivilised barbarian you were in the 1200's" the mongols nostrils flared, golden eyes glaring intensely at them. there was a moment of silence, before temüülen seemed to snap.
his strong arms wrapped around their waist, hoisting them up over his shoulder "mongolia!" his dearest shouted, hitting at his back "for once in your life leave me alon-" it seemed to take only seconds for temüülen to reach a soft surface to throw them on to. before they could let out another protest, two fingers were stuffed in their mouth, his free hand gripping onto their hip "how about you shut up, unless you'd like to find out what i used to do to brats like you"

Chapter 2: Toccoa, Georgia (The Prophecy)—A Band of Brothers Fanfic
A/N: I am so so so so SO sorry this is out late. This past week was super hectic! I hope that you really enjoy the chapter. I did my best to make it my own and different from other beginnings of BoB that I've seen, so you'll have to let me know what you think! Also, as a side note—I did, in fact, live in Toccoa area for 13 weeks a couple years back, so I actually do love that place!
Winnie could say that she had never been to Toccoa Georgia for any reason in her short lifetime and would probably have no desire to ever return. Though there wasn’t any snow on the ground here, it was just as gloomy as the rest of Georgia was in the winter months. Everywhere she looked, there were men in uniforms and people bustling towards the wartime factories that had popped up.
Her arrival at Camp Toccoa was a rather quiet affair, and so there she sat in a wooden chair inside a small waiting area. Occasionally, Winnie glanced over at the precipitation building on the windows. When she was a kid, she had long periods of waiting like this one—where her father was in jail or at some bar and she would just wait for him to come back home.
It would usually rain—and considering how the weather in Georgia changed as quickly as a summer breeze, Winnie had taken to counting droplets of water as a way to keep her focus on something that she could control.
The simple fact of the matter was that Winnie had precious little control over a lot of the circumstances in her life. But the things that she did have control over, she kept those things close to her chest; clung to them like they were her most precious possessions and no one would ever come close enough to take that freedom of control away from her again.
She clicked her heeled shoes together exactly once, eyes straying to the scuff marks on her simple church shoes. She wondered how her brothers were all faring in their training at the moment. If they were all coping with the reality of what war would be—if they were prepared to go and be on their own.
Richie wasn’t the one she was worried about. He was two years younger than her and was always rather serious. He worked harder than anyone else that she knew and wasn’t one to get distracted by a pretty face or lofty promises. Any day now, he’d be shipping out to go to the Pacific as a Marine and it made her truthfully want to follow him all the way down there and have his back with a gun herself.
They were Allens. And they trusted themselves and one another. No one else outside of their circle of siblings had proven to be someone that they would trust their lives with. But Winnie knew that they would never allow a doctor—and a female one, at that—to go down to the Pacific and be a part of the carnage and horrors there.
Robbie was in the same boat, proverbially speaking of course, as Richie. Set to go to the Pacific in a few weeks. He was always so quiet and watchful. Winnie hoped that it would serve him well to be on his guard and pick up on the things that the other soldiers wouldn't notice. They had yelled a lot back and forth before he had enlisted—she had told him to finish his degree and go into the JAG-Corp. He had told her to go to hell—which he had tearfully apologized for when she dropped him off at the train station.
Winnie stretched out her fingers over her lap, letting out a breath. It had been nearly thirty minutes of waiting to be allowed to see the Colonel—and this was just for him to review her application to join the Paratroopers as a Doctor and training officer for his medics. She wished that the level of urgency the war truly had would transfer over to her wait time.
Because if she needed to haul everything back to Buford, Winnie would almost certainly rather pick up and move to the Carolinas and try to sign up for a different branch of the military that would, in fact, utilize her. She hated being idle—hated being alone, even more than that.
The younger three boys were the ones that needed supervision—needed all the prayers of the good congregation of Buford’s Christian Non-Denominational Church. Nathan was the first problem in Winnie’s pleas to God. That boy had been raised wolf-wild by herself and Richie and Robbie. They hadn’t been much, but they had had each other. He was always picking a fight with an older boy—and she could only hope that this whole army experience was going to straighten him out.
Then there was Joshua, also set to end up in the Pacific as a medic. That had granted her a degree of peace, knowing that his evenings helping her study for school were going to come in handy where he was going. It might, in fact, just be the thing that ends up saving his life.
But Charlie? Charlie was, in every sense of the word, hers. She had raised him from the time of his infancy and so to Winnie Allen, Charlie was her child. Currently, he was in Texas and Winnie had never been more grateful for the fact that the Air Force programs were long. She would take those 9 months like a sacred gift from God that he wouldn’t be anywhere near the fighting—at least for a short while.
And then there was her. Just her—with no idea where she’d end up, with no clue what her side of the war would entail. Which of course, would be typical of her life thus far.
Just then, the door opened and a man stepped inside, clipboard in hand. “Dr. Allen?”
“That’d be me,” Winnie said, rising to her feet.
The man piqued an eyebrow, but said nothing about the fact that she was a woman. He just let out a weary sigh and gestured towards the door with his head. “If you’d follow me, ma’am.”
Of course, a moment ago she was Doctor, and now she was ma’am. God, she loathed the South.
Winnie obliged, following after the man with quick steps. As they crossed out of the building and onto a dirt path, Winnie caught sight of some of the trainees—some of them in the field and doing jumping jacks in the field, some of them running towards a trail through the trees. There weren’t too many of them at the moment, but that didn’t deter Winnie in any way.
“Are these the officers that are in training?” Winnie questioned, speeding up her stride to match the man in front of her.
He let out an annoyed breath. “You catch on quick. Sink will like that. Though I can’t account for how he’ll feel about a woman applying to train our medics.”
“I’m a trauma surgeon and doctor. I think my credentials speak for themselves,” Winnie retorted dryly.
No response from the officer this time, just a huff of air as he came to a stop in front of one of the buildings on the camp. “Wait here, please.”
Winnie just crossed her arms and waited patiently, inhaling the cool air. Not even thirty seconds later, the man had returned and gestured for her to enter the room. Winnie was grateful for the slight reprieve from the cold air as she entered the room. And there, sitting in a chair and smoking a cigar, was Colonel Sink.
“If you’d please take a seat, Doctor Allen,” he gestured at the seat across from his desk with his cigar. Usually quick to follow orders, Winnie slid into the seat, looking at Colonel Sink expectantly. It was another moment of silence before Colonel Sink set down his cigar and fully looked at her. “I’ll be honest, we don’t see too many female doctors come through the military.”
“I expect you’d see more nurses, sir.”
“Damn right, we do,” Sink stated. “This whole war—unpleasant business, not really meant for women.”
“If I can speak freely, sir?”
“I’d be appreciative of the honesty, if you did.”
“You’re right, it’s unpleasant. But those women are still going to bury husbands, sons, brothers, and fathers. It affects them just as much as it does the men.”
“I can’t say I disagree. Your point?”
“I’m not a married woman. I’m a trauma surgeon and head of the trauma department in Buford General. I was the top of my class and as it so happens, I don’t have any children or brothers—they’re all off in training to fight in this war. I don’t particularly like sitting on my ass or fancy myself a factory worker. But I can help you train damn good medics, sir.”
Sink stared at her for a long time. His gaze reminded her a lot of her mentor’s, from back in college. He was always trying to figure out her angles too. Trying to figure out if she was as good as she claimed to be.
“I’ll be honest with you, Allen. We’ve got hundreds—thousands—of men coming in the next few months to train to be paratroopers. Now I want them to be the best of the best. And if I want them to survive more than five minutes over there, then that means I also need the best of the best doctors to train my medics. So I’ll concede to your point. Your application was good—I’m a self-made man myself and I respect that work.”
“Sir?”
“But I’ll also be honest with you. This isn’t going to be pretty. It’s going to be bloody and long and tiring. This isn’t the type of place where you can just escape from whatever life you don’t want to live. At some point, you might be elbows deep in some man’s guts and I need someone unflinching.”
“October 27th.”
“Pardon?”
Winnie shifted in her seat, leaning forward. “October 27th, a man and his two daughters are brought into Buford General. Automobile accident. The man flung his arm in front of his daughter sitting in the passenger seat. His arm was hanging by a few strands of muscles and he was going to bleed out. Now the daughter in the passenger seat got impaled by a fence post—it went straight through her stomach. The daughter in the back was flung through the car and landed 15 feet ahead.”
“That’s both gruesome and tragic. Your point being?”
“I was the surgeon on call that night. I triaged. I assessed. I delegated. The father lost his arm but he kept his life. The daughter who flew through the car wasn’t going to make it. She was 11. We were short-handed and I had to tell the nurse assisting me that the little girl wasn’t going to make it and that she needed to focus on the other one. So she did. We lost the one—but she was mostly gone by the time she had arrived,” Winnie stated. “My point here is that I can give your men skills that they won’t get anywhere otherwise. Real life experience teaching practical application of the skills. Triaging, assessing, not hesitating in doing the work and saving lives.”
Sink leaned forward in his seat. “You’d be hard on them?”
“I’d be brutal. Because that is exactly what they are going to face out there.”
“You be the hard-ass doctor that trains my medics, then. But if you’re gonna be here, then you’re gonna train like my men train.”
“I’m not a fragile southern belle like Melanie Hamilton, sir.”
“No, I imagine you’re not. I’ll give you two nurses to assist with actual injuries on base—and based on performance, you and them might just end up traveling with us wherever we end up.”
“Sir?”
“What?”
“Thank you for letting me advocate my case. I won’t let you down.”
“You sure as hell better not. Or lots of good men are going to die and that’s going to be on your shoulders.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Within the first hour of being there, Winnie had selected her nurses from the pile of applications. It hadn’t been that hard of a choice to begin with—some were just practical eliminations, and the rest were a careful read-through of letters they had sent in along with the application.
Reba Garrett and Eileen Gray were the two chosen candidates that she had landed on. Reba was from New England and had been working as a nurse for well over five years now, placing her as one of the older and more experienced women applying for the position. But it wasn’t her experience that attracted Winnie’s attention—it was the letter, and the way in which she described wanting to do some real good in the war and that started with saving lives rather than ending them.
That sounded exactly like the type of person that Winnie wanted to have on her side.
Eileen, on the other hand, was from Savannah, Georgia. While her experience time of only two years wasn’t quite as well-established as Reba’s was, it was the picture that she had included of her brother that caught Winnie’s attention. Eileen’s brother had been stationed in Pearl and he had been one of the many men to be immortalized under the ocean there.
That gave her motivation, it gave her righteous anger—and in Winnie’s eyes, it was exactly the sort of thing that God would do—place Eileen in her path to ensure that justice was seen.
So Winnie penned her first letters to the two women that would soon be joining her here in Toccoa. And then she took those resumes straight to Colonel Sink—who wholeheartedly approved of the decision, though it was made in haste. Just another reason for him to see her as a capable doctor—as someone he could trust.
And in two weeks time, Eileen Gray and Reba Garrett would be joining her at Camp Toccoa. In the meantime though, Winnie’s own training was set to begin. And she’d be damned if she let herself be torn down by any man—her superior officer or not. She was determined to earn her place amongst the men here—and earn their respect. Consequences be damned.
i saw your post about writing yandere! sunoo and i’m here for it 😭😭
please do it, i love your fanfics so muchhhhh
Sunoo was among the best teaching assistants you could have ever asked for.
You two were only a couple years apart and given you were a new professor it made the transition to the university all the easier.
As a professor, you knew people like him were a dime a dozen: he never complained when he had to stay longer and help you grade, always attended meetings on time, and was highly attentive to your students.
But that was only for you of course.
Sunoo bounced his leg underneath his desk as he watched you laugh jubilantly with one of your students at the desk across from yours, already fuming at the fact that the student brought you coffee.
Just breathe, you can deal with the student later, just not in front of Miss.
He kept repeating it to himself over and over but he was truly at his wit's end, not missing the glances that said student tried to make down your button-up shirt.
He'd had enough.
"Ma'am has a meeting to attend in ten minutes so if you'd please leave so she can get prepared," Sunoo said through a tight-lipped smile. He stood up and escorted the student out the door, softly locking it so no one else could come in and disrupt his precious time with you.
"I didn't realize I had a meeting today, was it put on my calendar last minute?" you asked, searching through your emails to see if you'd missed anything.
"You'd be correct. But I could tell from your body language that he was making you feel uncomfortable," Sunoo answered smiling.
As soon as the emotion came it was gone, a tightening in his chest beginning to form when you shook your head.
"On the contrary! He was very sweet, it's rare for my students to stop by and make conversation so easily with me. Plus he even got me coffee," you responded, freezing when Sunoo took the coffee from your hands.
"It's best not to drink things from students professor, he very well could've put something in it," he excused, throwing it in the trash before you could rebuttal.
The air in the room had gotten colder and you could feel it, standing up and following him back over to his desk to talk.
"Hey is everything okay? You seem tense," you inquired with concern, placing a hand on his shoulder while he sat down.
Sunoo shook his head stiffly, trying his best to remain calm at the sentiments you seemed to harbor towards the student.
"Well let me know, all you're a cherished coworker to me."
Sunoo swore his heart turned to ice for a moment.
Coworker.
Coworker.
Coworker.
"Is that all I am to you? Just a coworker?" Sunoo said icily, the remark marking you step back a bit at how glazed his eyes had gone.
"W-well I don't know," you stammered out, almost tripping on your heels at the shift in the room.
Before you could realize Sunoo had turned you around and pinned you to the desk, quickly undoing his tie and using it to bind your wrists.
"I wish you'd see me more than just a "coworker"," he said, words dripping with venom. You could feel your heart racing in your ears as he flipped you onto your back now that you couldn't move, Sunoo holding your knees firmly so you couldn't kick him.
"S-sunoo, you know these types of relationships are frowned upon," you attempted to reason with him. A shudder left your body as he bent over and popped the buttons of your blouse open, a slender finger running down your midline.
"Then we just won't tell anyone now will we?" He bent over and messily kissed your neck, your legs shaking around his waist as you murmured for him to "stop before he regrets it", Sunoo laughing as he held your face in his hands.
"Professor I've waited for so long for you to notice me. But you never did, always caught up with men who were too pathetic to even exist," he whispered against your face, stroking your cheek gently.
He sensed your fear and kissed your nose gently, giving you a soft smile that gave you goosebumps.
"Don't worry I'm gonna be gentle. I was never one to break my toys from being too rough."
***********************************************
yandere! sunoo anyone? did we like it? let me know!
Hi there luv
Geuss what, I have officially followed you for a year! Which means that we some days ago had 1 year of me following you.
The only reason I got Tumblr in the first place was because I was despretly trying to find new chapters of GG since there wasen't anymore on Waptted(?). So I went on a little research on your social media (only fpund Tumblr) and coulden't read any of your chapters.. so I made an acount and followed you as the first thing.
I love you so dearly, you and @blacksgarden mean the world to me and have helped me improve my mental health, I'm so greatfull for you two and I hope you understand that. GC is fantastisk too, the best fanfic I've ever read actually. I love it very much, but recently I have got no time to read it, firstly because I tried useing c.ai which went really bad because now I cant stop.. and secoundly I bought The Secret History by Donna Tart. Have you read it?
Anyways lots of love, and I'll try to get better at reading your chapters.
My beloved Vilma! First of all, congratulations for one year on this hellsite! I feel like we all sometimes complain about it, but secretly love it nonetheless. I mean after being here for like 13 years, there has to be a reason for my attachment.
Althought, I must say it's been only lately that I've gotten to truly enjoy the benefits of the website. The community and friendships that it allows you to form are the most delightful thing ever! I'm immensely thankful to the Marauders fandom for showing me the way!
I had no idea I somehow induced your coming to the website, but I do remember how you started showing up in my notifications and ask box and how you've been the sweetest person ever since. I'm so lucky that we found each other!
Honestly, c.ai is addictive as hell, I've somehow managed not to allow it to consume all of my time, but the new voice call thing is crazy! Some are scarily accurate, me and my friends were playing with them last time we met, and it's just insane. For sure, 13-year-old old me would have been so addicted to it it would have become an issue. But also, I'm forever thankful bc it was thanks to c.ai that I managed to muster enough confidence for writing smut, hehe...
And of course, I've read The Secret History! In fact, I've also read some of the other books by Donna, and I love her aesthetics as much as I love the way she writes. Her chapters can sometimes be rather lengthy, and the endings might not always be what we're used to, but so far, I've enjoyed every book from her I've read. I wouldn't know If I liked The Goldfinch better than TSH, but I can safely say both were gratifying reads.
You're in for a trip with TSH, and if you ever want to message me about it, you're more than welcome! I was lucky enough to read it about at the same time as one of my close friends, and whenever something was too insane, she became my support system, if you ever need one of those, don't hesitate to contact me!
Also! Book clubs are so fun! I wish I could form one hehe.
Let's imagine that you have a signed book deal for a Star Trek novel. What would you write about? If nothing was off limits.
I've been thinking about this question for a couple of days and I'm kind of stumped. I have to say that ‘book deal for a Star Trek novel’ and ‘nothing off limits’ are imho a bit contradictory terms here, given that my fanfic writing is... almost entirely canon-divergent. If nothing was truly off limits I would simply pitch a post-canon, post-divorce, unhappy ending Seven/B'Elanna novel set on Fenris in 2386, but that could never ever become a Star Trek novel. It would be a novel-length fanfiction at best. I've been trying to psych myself up to write it, in fact.
That being said, here are a couple more ideas I've toyed with in the past for novel-length Trek fiction I'd write or that I have written (but currently sit unfinished in my drafts):
Jake Sisko stumbles upon the Starfleet conspiracy about the USS Discovery and Michael Burnham's true fate, and it becomes an obsession which is both good (he isn't following the path of his future self from “The Visitor”) and bad (Starfleet isn't happy that he's snooping around). If we're talking about getting paid to write this one, a Black writer should definitely receive that money rather than me though
A sequel to “Infinity”, one of the stories in “The Lives of Dax” in which Saavik, Torias Dax and Nilani Kahn met while collaborating on the project that eventually killed Torias. I always wanted to know about Trill in the 23rd century, with all their secrets. I have a WIP about this that I spent most of 2021 writing but it's very very unfinished. (I would happily get paid to finish this one)
The character-death-fix story of how Kimara Cretak escaped the Tal Shiar thanks to the Qowat Milat (if you've read “Policy of Truth” perhaps you'll understand what I'm talking about). I'd love to see a former Romulan Senator try to adapt to living in a commune of fringe extremists. There can be a plot also, I haven't really thought about that in depth.
hi hello I normally do asks anonymously but I wanted you to personally know
I found you a couple days ago i believe and oh my god. Are you like, an angel?? Dude. You’ve written over 200 works, nearly 90% of them being in the vld fandom. I feel like no one gives you enough credit for your contributions to fanfic, especially in the vld fandom. I can’t even begin to think of 20 ideas for a fanfic. You’ve had probably over thousands. You are genuinely one of the most talented writers I’ve ever come across. I love how you write angst and pain. It’s done so in a way that can hurt you so deeply yet leave you wanting for more. Just perfectly encapsulated what it is like to read angst because you did it. in a way that clearly shows you understood the assignment. I love how you write yearning and internal turmoil. I love how you write rising tension and build up anticipation. It leaves me on the edge of my seat every time and I get so excited every time something super important happens. I love how you write each of the characters’ relationships with one another. It can literally feel so personal to see them interact. my favs of yours are probably keith and shiro <and> lance and hunk. You are such a great writer and I don’t think you get enough recognition or appreciation because oh my god. Every time I read your works it is just masterpiece after masterpiece. And the way you end them?? You know just how to make an ending to a story so satisfactory. Because you write the beginning to be satisfactory. You write the middle to be satisfactory. You write every single chapter, paragraph, sentence, and word to make sure that the story concludes in a way that leaves you feeling content. I am genuinely always baffled at how godly your writing is. How you never get any credit where it is clearly due is completely insane. You have done wonders in this world, even if it just seems like a little corner of it. You were here. And you did good for so many. You are so amazing and I don’t know how many ways I could possibly tell that to you. If you ever were to write an original work I would make sure to personally buy ten thousand copies all on my own. Because I know damn well that if you wrote it, it is going to be one of the best pieces of literature ever written. You are so. So. So so so so so so so so soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing. And awesome. And cool. And great.
So much love.
You are incredible.
So I would like to preface this response by noting that I've had regular asks closed for the last few months due to just a lot of negative feelings with the entitlement behind the asks, and anonymous asks closed for the last year due to various reasons but the most common one being trolls and hate mail. Following a recent livestream on my Patreon I kind of said screw it, let's just see how it goes again and opened them and so the fact that this absolute sweetheart gem of an ask is the first thing I get not even two days later is just... wow, thank you. I've only read this like ten times now.
I just wanted to say this comment makes me feel very seen and appreciated and all of the kind words are backed up by the fact I do indeed recognize your name (so I am glad you didn't submit this as anon!) as having popped into a number of my stories over the past week or so and leaving such sweet comments. It truly means a lot. And as an aside, I am very excited to see you (hopefully) back for the final chapters of Missing as (ironically) a lot of the audience went missing the last few ;p So I do hope you enjoy it and would love to hear your thoughts there! As you observed, it's definitely a bit of a rough go to put all this time and effort into writing and sharing my works and not really seeing a lot of folks engaging with the stories any more, but I'm still trying my best to post for as long as I can. And readers like yourself are the reason I do try to continue to do so 🧡
I also just wanted to highlight of this entire highlight of a comment the little bit you mentioned about how I end stories. Thank you. I strive really hard to not just 'finish' a story but to wrap up every tangent and every little loose thread into a pretty bow so nothing ever feels unfinished and it's not always an easy thing to do. But I've read plenty of stories where it just ends and it's like, but wait, it was so abrupt, it feels incomplete, and I don't ever want anyone to feel that way reading my stories.
I have unfortunately given up my dream of writing my own original novel as I've lost a lot of faith in my abilities due to the continual decrease of engagement and just feeling like nothing I ever write will be good enough, but thank you so much for the encouragement and the kind words. I don't think it'll ever happen, but if it does I'll for sure post a link to purchase my novel on Tumblr ;p
I could gush about all the little, beautiful details you wrote in this for hours but I will cut myself off here. But thank you, truly, for such a sweet message and kind words and I do hope to continue to see you in the comment sections of my stories for the little bits of sunshine you bring into my life🧡
