Are You Wise Enough To Understand The Gospel?
Whenever the true message of the cross is abolished, the anger of hypocrites and heretics eases and all things seem to be at peace. - Martin Luther I met a few people who claimed to have read the Bible cover to cover. Yet, they do not believe in Christ. Others have read it but only accepted some of its contents. Furthermore, some heard of the Gospel but did not give credence that it is factual. Worst deemed it as rubbish. I thank God that had called me to be aware of Him, through my parents, at a young age. Moreover, that the Holy Spirit changed me and made me saw the wretchedness of my life. And I sought Jesus Christ to be saved. Bible Reading Today’s devotional reading is from the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1:14-19. True Wisdom Versus Philosophy According to Merriam Webster, philosophy is a 'pursuit of wisdom'. Additionally, it is a 'search for a general understanding of values and reality by chiefly speculative rather than observational means'. Yet, people of the 21st century take philosophy with regard and the Good News of Christ as something of less or no value. In pursuit of knowledge, we have neglected where true wisdom comes from. In Psalm 119:105 we read, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. This means that God's words will direct our ways. However, this only applies when a person studies His words.
