Was very close to her dad growing up. Her dad and uncle taught her self defense from a young age, and during her teen years she went out of her way to learn more attack style moves.

Her uncle crafted her her armour!! It’s based on something she designed as a child.

Has allllllways been tall. She struggled with it a lot growing up but it doesn’t phase her anymore, she loves being tall now!! 

She met her lover when she rescued him. It was one of those ‘love at first sight’ tropes:’) 

Used to have medium/long hair growing up and cut it all off during one of those ‘self-discovery breakdowns.’ A bit like Mulan? 

Had slight anger problems growing up, but she learned to control them and release her anger through other forms.

Justin trudie is to blame for the way our country is headed ! The Midnight Gospel

I went to my roommate and asked “if you had to recommend any tv show, movie, video, anything to me right now off the top of your head, what would it be?”. She responded “The Midnight Gospel. My brother recommended it to me and I watched the first couple episodes and I think you would like it.” We went to the living room and started watching it. The Midnight Gospel is an adult animation series based off of Duncan Trussell’s podcast. The show follows Clancy, a space podcaster, as he travels to other planets with the help of his simulator. On the other planets, he interviews other worldly beings and gets their opinions on topics such as death, the afterlife, magic, forgiveness, and other thought provoking subjects. The show is extremely entertaining to watch. The animation alone follows a loose plot, bending reality because there isn’t really a “reality”. They are in space! In one episode, Clancy follows Trudy the Love Barbarian in her quest to avenge her lover’s murder. As they go on this marvelous journey, they talk about forgiveness and what forgiveness means. The dialogue and animations are very very loosely tied together and they are able to completely stand alone as separate pieces of art. But the beauty of having them accompanying each other allows the viewers to weave in and out of each aspect. When the podcast becomes too deep and you need a minute to process the information, you can focus on the characters getting a potion from an evil witch. And when the animation because too much to focus on, you can go back to listening to the real life conversation between Duncan and his podcast guest for that episode. The episode that stuck out to me and I have not been able to get out of my head was the final episode of the season. Previously in the season, Clancy mentions that he has lost both parents. In the final episode, he is in an alternate reality where he is a child and reliving his childhood with his mother. This animation is partnered with a podcast from 2012 featuring Trussell’s mother. The conversation between the two was a beautiful exchange between a mother and son. Trussell badgered his mother about what he was like as a child and moments from his childhood. Then the conversation started to get emotional. They started to discus death and how hard it is to let go of our loved ones. Trussell’s mother reaveals that she is suffering from stage four metastatic breast cancer. The two have a conversation that no one ever wants to have with their parent. How do I deal with the death of my parent? Trussell admitted that is it easy to just say “cry it out” and “move on” but actually doing those actions is a whole other story. His mother listened and accepted that her son was going to go through unimaginable heartbreak. The exchange was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I was crying throughout the entire episode. When the episode was done, I looked over and my roommate was also crying. We made sure each other was ok and sat and cried in silence for a couple minutes. Then I called my mom to tell her that I am grateful for the time I have with her and I love her.

My Top Favorite Characters Of The Midnight Gospel

1. Clancy Gilroy

Clancy is my first favor because he is the all-around character that sticks out the most because he’s the most relatable and out of everything, he’s trying to achieve his goal no matter what anybody else thinks, but with that he’s also putting aside all the problems that he needs to face and thats something A lot of people deal with.

2. Darryl the Fish

I love the way how Darryl has this calm personality that’s connected to his belief of magic an holds a highly belief in. Also that the fact that he’s a fish in a bowl, who has a body attached to it is just a bonus.

3. Trudy the love Barbarian

Truly is an all-around tough bad ass, but she has this very pleasant, loving, caring, and sensible side of her. And is willing to do everything in her power to help rescue one she loves, So in a way, she’s kind of like Finn from adventure time which is awesome

4. Captain Bryce

I love the captain Bryce because he’s that typical old long mustache cartoon guy, who just has a pleasant personality that’s funny, silly and as soon as he sees Clancy’s problem he’s willing to go out way to help him even at a dire cost

5. Death

I’m surprise I’m saying this because death is well death, but the fact alone that death has a very calm manner when speaking to Clancy and explaining to him about the inevitable of one day dying and how she basically simplifies it all in the grand scheme of things it’s just downright chillingly delightful

6. Clancy’s Mother

Out of all the characters that I have set on my favorite list. Clancy’s mom is one of the most beautifully well thought out in the world of mother’s, that’s been given dialogue so great that elevates her character. Hell Clancy’s mother is just literally that type of mother that everyone would want to have. she is by far the most caring loving and downright the most spiritual person that I have ever saw in a animated show

7. Little President

OK this guy right here is by far the most chill person I’ve seen on the show, literally he in a zombie apocalypse and going around freely willing to give Clancy all of his time to answer all of his questions and to do an interview while also going around killing and surviving the Apocalypse
