Been having TRON brainrot thanks to me and my friend @moonlightpearl27 brainrotting over Uprsing. So I figured I'd make an OC/Sona for the franchise. These are sketches/concepts.

This is Graphite. Here are facts about him so far.

His kind is sorta-kinda a middle ground between ISOs and Programs (I haven't figured that much so idk what he is exactly). In other words, he's rather "unique".

He's 8 feet tall.

Came from an area very far from Argon City (filled with not only his kind but filled with different digital lifeforms like Gridzillas, Gridactyls, and Gridmoths). It's not known to any program or ISO

Graphite, like most of his kind, has the unique ability to craft tools and other things from any items, and in his case, he made an axe out of a broken disc and the barrel of a tank.

Don't worry about him being shirtless because his skin is basically like digital rhino hide, which can only be scratched but not wounded/derezzed.

At some point, he was taken in by Beck so that he could protect Graphite from The Occupation mostly since Graphite is out for Tesler's blood and is good at causing property damage and Beck doesn't want any kind of trouble.

He's also created as an unapologetic excuse for me to selfship because I love Able's Garage Gang so much I want to kiss all three of them ough 💖

Jokes aside. Ik that he is a complex character and not only “Ha ha! Me bad guy”.

Clu 2.0 probably felt betrayed by Flynn since he wanted to fulfil the project, given by Flynn himself, of creating a perfect world, but when the ISOs showed up everything went south. Clu saw the ISOs as those chaotic (is this the right word? Idk…) entities that haven’t been programmed by anyone and are free, they don’t have to abide to a programming and he saw this as something that “destroyed” the order of things/ how things should be, thus pushing away their objective of perfection.

Flynn obviously was excited when he discovered the ISOs, he is an innovator after all, and saw their potential, but Clu couldn’t understand it and their “interest” clashed.

Was Clu in the right when he betrayed Flynn and Tron? Absolutely not, but he had his reasons and believed he was doing the right thing (considering he was created to help build the perfect world)

(I still think that what he did was wrong and it really fucked Flynn and Tron, they are completely different from their ‘82 counterparts and that’s really sad)

That said… Whoever hurts my boy Tron is an enemy of mine, so fuck Clu (tho lovingly, the only one that I truly despise is Dyson)

revisiting some tron legacy/uprising stuff, it's honestly crazy how disney was cooking -- both entries have such strong visual identities, built on conscious stylization, and also the fucken money being pumped into the series -- daft punk and 3oh!3 on the soundtrack, ELIJAH WOOD VOICE ACTING, and yeah I guess legacy didn't have as much as an impact as they hoped, but then they just dropped it

marvel was acquired in 2009, same year that avatar was released, legacy was release shortly after in 2010, and then star wars was acquired in 2012 -- anyways my personal conspiracy theory is that disney was drumming up tron to be their Original Action Franchise, an eye candy boat like avatar, but with a focus on human characters. but putting that much effort into something original with niche appeal is risky -- i think they saw the burgeoning success of the nascent mcu with all its visual work already pre-completed (in the form of decades of comic books), long-established marketing appeal, and easier themes and storylines to digest -- iron man's randian America, fuck yeah! vs tron's meditations on the nature of life, religion, familial legacy, etc -- and just went with what was easier

Anyone who’s ever thought of Repurposed Beck stuff, I want you all to take Cyrus into account. Because let’s say he lives long enough to see a repurposed Beck. He knows practically everything about Beck. He’s the only one. And what does he do with that info when he sees a repurposed Beck, who doesn’t know who he is anymore? Does he keep it to himself, try to befriend Beck to show him just how similar they are, now that Beck is programmed to kill? Does he string him along with the knowledge he has on him? Does he do a rare kind thing and try to help him get his memories back because “if I’m gonna kill him, he better know it’s me”?

The biggest thing I'm iffy abt is the other characters roles in it but this is just an au I'm making on the whim SOOO-

And w Clu, thinking abt it he kinda had the same ideals as LBD in a way, both wanting to create the perfect world/system so there's that

Tron (name of the movie ik, but he is a character-) was taken captive by Clu so in this, bam we have our LBD and Macaque dynamic

ANNNND I think finally ofc a good au needs angst SO- Macaque would end up dying (again-) after becoming self aware, bc in the movie its when Tron realizes who he really is annnnd Clu kindly takes him out w his jet and they fight in the air for abit before Tron gets kicked into the virtual ocean and gets his jet stolen by Clu PFPFKFF-
