Biofungicides Market – Forecast (2022-2027)
Biofungide Market size is estimated to reach US$3.9 billion in 2027 and is forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 15.1% during 2022-2027. The term Biofungicides refers to those fungicides that contain the microorganism as an active ingredient and are used to control fungal bacteria in plants especially in agriculture. These microorganisms are found naturally in the soil, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to chemical fungicides. Biofungicides are used as a pest control method through folia spray of biofungicides during the cultivation of cereals & grains, fruits & vegetables, oilseeds & pulses, flower crops, and others. They help to increase the fertility of the soil and extend the life of flowers and fruits. In addition, the biofungicide easily decomposed sunlight, plants, or various microorganisms in the soil. The introduction of sustainable products in organic farming had a positive impact on farmers around the world, greatly contributing to the growth of the industry. Farmers switching to advanced farming systems such as hydroponic systems, aquaponics has a positive impact on global biofungicides market.
COVID-19 Impact
The covid-19 has disrupted agricultural industry with decreased supply of agricultural inputs. The disruption in supply chain has reduced the availability of fertilizers, agricultural implements, and other inputs. The closure of several manufacturing units of biofungicides during lockdown has created a tentative market friction between demand and supply.
A sudden outbreak of the coronavirus has hit the global market as governments take steps to close roads and reduce overcrowding. The development is generally expected to be reflected in the disruption and decline in productivity and organic farming due to lack of resources, shortage of workers, and government-sanctioned crop closures.
The global market continues to be challenged by the economic consequences associated with the epidemic. However, the results are not the same for all markets and not all are bad. For example, the timely closure of Chinese agriculture supplier plants including foliar spray implements could help producers from India, Europe, and North America fill the void and expand their order. However, supply chain disruptions have led to problems with organic farming community with the purchase of immature goods from several manufacturers, especially companies relying on Chinese raw materials are expected to face major planning challenges.

In addition, rising consumer demand for food (organic food products) that do not contain synthetic pesticides is predicted to boost market growth.
Adverse Effects of Synthetic Pesticides on Environment and Human Health
The use of synthetic pesticides has documented extensive and widespread damage to the environment. Therefore, a number of government agencies have banned or restricted the use of certain chemical ingredients to avoid harmful effects on the environment, human and animal health. The presence of synthetic fungicides in agricultural soils can cause adverse effects soil organisms, such as worms and microorganisms, and the important functions of these organic matter is responsible including biological degradation, nutrient depletion cycling. Therefore, any adverse effects caused by mold residues can have a lasting effect on the fertility and health of agricultural soils. Similarly, synthetic fungicide residue. Synthetic fungicide has the potential to cause adverse effects on structure of biodiversity and function of the aquatic environment. Many governments are highly supportive and provide funding to increase the organic farming practice use in order to reduce the environmental impact of pesticides. Strong emphasis on government and other stakeholders on organic and sustainable farming practices has increased the adoption of bio-based crop protection chemicals. For an instance, government of India has announced 425 per farmer to purchase organic inputs under Paramparagath Krishi Vikas yojana (PKVY) scheme. Growing concerns about the negative impact on use of chemical pesticides are expected to boost sales of sustainable solutions. This is one of the major factors making environmentally conscious farmers are shifting from synthetic pesticides to biofungicides over the foreseen period.
Biofungicides Market Challenges

Trichoderma Improves Plant Growth
Trichoderma is a genus of soil-dwelling fungi that is highly effective in colonizing many varieties of plant roots and inhibiting fungi that cause many kinds of diseases throughout the world. Even in the absence of pathogens, trichoderma may improve plant health. In soil that is acidic, the fungus grows best, and it helps establish such an atmosphere by secreting organic acids.
They can solubilize phosphates and mineral ions, such as iron, magnesium, and manganese, and these acids have an additional impact that benefits plants greatly. This ensures that the dissolution of these minerals is encouraged, making it easier for the plants to consume them. These nutrients in the soil are always in short supply. If the soil is very bad to start with, the increase in the yield of the plants is greater.
Benefits of Trichoderma Bio Fungicide
Disease Control: Trichoderma is an effective biocontrol agent that is commonly used in soil born diseases. It has been used extensively against pathogenic fungi of different genera, i.e. Scelerotia, Phytopthara, etc. Fusarium,
Plant Growth Promoter: Micronutrients and phosphates are solubilized by trichoderma strains. The application of Trichoderma strains to plants raises the number of deep roots, thus increasing the plant's ability to withstand drought.
Biochemical Elicitors of Disease: It is understood that resistance in plants is caused by trichoderma strains. Three groups of compounds are now known to be produced by Trichoderma and induce plant resistance. Such compounds induce the development of ethylene, hypersensitive responses and other reactions in plant cultivars related to protection.
Transgenic plants: The introduction of the gene endochitinase Trichoderma into plants such as tobacco and potato plants has improved their resistance to fungal growth.
Bioremediation: Trichoderma strains play an important role in the bioremediation of soil infected with pesticides and herbicides. These, including organochlorines, organophosphates and carbonates, have the ability to destroy a variety of insecticides.

How Trichoderma Biofungicide works on plant growth?
When plant roots are colonized by this fungus in soil. It creates a physical barrier by growing at the roots and in the rhizosphere to prevent the growth of fungi that would otherwise cause disease on the plant. Plants frequently produce chemicals to defend themselves, and Trichoderma is resistant to many of them, which helps it to colonize the roots. And it does this without interfering with other microbes, such as mychorrhizae or rhizobium that support the plants. Even in the absence of pathogens, trichoderma can improve plant health. The fungus grows best in acidic soil, and by secreting organic acids it helps create such an environment.
The increase in the yield of the plants is greater when the soil is really poor to start with. The soil is a fiercely competitive place, and microbes most commonly die by starvation. Trichoderma is unusually skilled at taking up nutrients from the soil compared to other organisms. It can extract energy from complex compounds such as chitin from the fungi or cellulose from plants that are difficult to break down for other species.
Our Dr. Bacto's Herz product is a Trichoderma bio fungicide in India containing Mycoparasitic Fungi spores and conidia. Dr. Bacto's Herz prevents seedlings from attacks by soil-borne pathogens causing root / collar / stem rots, wilts, damping offs, leaf blights, etc. Trichoderma bio fungicide containing Trichoderma viride, which restricts the number of pathogens in plants that are responsible for various diseases.
Trichoderma bio fungicide mode of application
If you apply this fungus to seed, it will colonize the plant’s root system as it grows. You can apply it directly into the furrow when planting. If you are planting turf, you can mix the fungus into the surface of the soil.
1. Crop treatment: Before sowing, mix 6-10 g of Trichoderma powder per kg crop.
2. Nursery treatment: Apply 10 -25 g Trichoderma powder per 100 m2 of nursery bed. Application of neem cake and FYM prior to treatment improves efficacy.
3. Cutting and seedling root dip: Mix 10 g of Trichoderma powder with 100 g of well-rotted FYM per liter of water and dip the cuttings and seedlings 10 minutes before planting.
4. Soil treatment: Apply 5 kg of Trichoderma powder per hector after sun hemp or dhainch is converted into green manure soil.  Or mix 1 kg of Trichoderma formula into 100 kg of manure from the farmyard and cover it with polythene for 7 days. Intermittently spray with water over the stack. Turn the mixture in any period of 3-4 days and then broadcast in the area.
5. Plant Treatment: Drench the soil near stem region with 10g Trichoderma powder mixed in a liter of water.
Anand Agro care manufactured Trichoderma bio fungicide in India which is effective in combating all kinds of soil borne diseases like wilt, vascular wilt, root rot, rhizome rot, and vine wilt of all crops. Trichoderma Bio Fungicide in India for Soil Born Diseases Management
Trichoderma fungus is a beneficial that helps to protect your plants against molds and bacteria. These tough little funguses are standing up against root rot and gray mold, protecting from loss of your crops. They create a barrier that makes it impossible for harmful bacteria and pathogens to pass through. Trichoderma surrounds the roots of your plant releasing compounds that activate their natural systems of defense.
Tumblr media
Trichoderma bio fungicide is most effective for all plant and vegetable forms such as cauliflower, peas, sunflower, brinjal, coffee, tea, ginger, turmeric, pepper, betel vine, cardamom cotton, tomato, chillies, potato, citrus, onion, groundnut etc. Trichoderma fungus may suppress the growth of the pathogen population in the rhizosphere through competition and thus reduce disease development.  It produces antibiotics and toxins like trichothecin and Trichodermin, a sesquiterpine that has a direct effect on other organisms.
A dynamic growth of biological trichoderma viride fungicide overshadows the pathogenic fungi, which are overpowered and prevented from infecting the plants. They can be blocked and managed by different methods before pathogens attempt infection by germinating seeds or roots. They have developed various mechanisms for both attacking other fungi and enhancing plant and root growth such as mycoparasitis, antibiosis, nutrient or space competition, stress tolerance through increased root and plant production, inorganic nutrient solubilization and sequestration.

It is now known that three groups of compounds are generated by Trichoderma and induce plant resistance. Such compounds induce the development of ethylene, hypersensitive responses and other reactions in plant cultivars related to protection.
Transgenic Plants: The introduction of Trichoderma endochitinase gene into plants such as tobacco and potato plants has improved their fungal growth resistance.
Bioremediation: In the bioremediation of soil polluted with pesticides and herbicides, trichoderma strains play an important role. These have the ability to kill a number of insecticides, including organochlorines, organophosphates and carbonates.
Trichoderma bio-fungicide is used to protect crops such as cotton, soybean, sugar cane, sugarbeet, eggplant, red gram, bengal gram, banana, cardamom etc. You do not use any chemical fungicide after application of Trichoderma for 4-5 days. Trichoderma biofungicide is compatible with biofertilizers like Rhizobium, Azospirillum, Bacillus Subtilis and Phosphobacteria. Trichoderma can be added to metalaxyl or thiram-treated plants, but not mercurials. It can be used as a tank combination of organic fungicides.

Pseudomonas Fluorescens Bio-Fungicides is a Bio Control Agent
A bio fungicide is composed of useful fungi and bacteria organisms that colonize and assault plant pathogens, along these lines frustrating the diseases they cause. These microbes are usually and normally found in soil, making them a natural alternative to chemical fungicides.

Bio-fertilizers- A Key Role in Agriculture by Improving Soil Fertility & Crop Productivity
A bio-fertilizer is a substance which contains living microorganisms that colonize the rhizosphere or the inside of the plant when applied to seeds, plant surfaces or soil and promote growth by growing primary nutrient supply or availability to the host plant. Bio-fertilizers improve the quality and are responsible for agriculture environment; they are cost effective and a renewable source of plant nutrients to supplement the chemical fertilizers.
Tumblr media
Organic farming is mostly dependent on the natural microflora of the soil which constitutes all kinds of useful bacteria and fungi including mycorrhizal, trichoderma, bacillus subtilis biofungicide, and organic plant growth promoter. Bio-fertilizers keep the soil environment rich in all kinds of micro and macro-nutrients through nitrogen fixation, phosphate and potassium solubilisation or mineralization, plant growth release controlling substances, antibiotic development and soil biodegradation. When bio-fertilizers are applied as seed or soil inoculants, they multiply and participate in nutrient cycling and profit crop productivity. We multiply and participate in nutrient cycling and gain plant production when bio-fertilizers are applied as seed or soil inoculants. Overall, 60% to 90% of the total applied fertilizer is wasted and plants take up the remaining 10% to 40%.
There are many uses of bio-fertilizers: they can form important association with other soil microbes and made a great help in nutrients supply. They fix atmospheric nitrogen, increase nutrient uptake availability through solubilisation, or increase plant growth through hormonal or antibiotic action, or through organic waste decomposition.  Bio-fertilizers are cheap and hence reduce the costs of cultivation; they are eco-friendly and therefore pose no damage to the environment.
Advantages of Bio-fertilizers:
They help to achieve high yields of crops by enriching the soil with nutrients and useful microorganisms necessary for plant growth.
Chemical fertilizers are substituted because they are not beneficial to crops. Chemical fertilizers, by releasing harmful chemicals, limit plant growth and pollute the environment.
They are eco-friendly due to the fact that they protect the environment against
Pollutants.
If the soil is free of chemicals, it will retain its fertility, which will be beneficial for
the plants as well as the environment, because the plants will be protected against diseases and the environment will be free of pollutants.
Biofertilizers kill the harmful soil components that cause plant disease. Plants can also be shielded from drought and other harmful conditions by using biofertilizers.
Anand Agro Care established in 2009 and made a name for itself in the list of top bio-fertilizers manufacturers & suppliers in India. We are located in Nashik dedicated to research & development, production and commercialization of environment friendly certified organic products for the growth and sustainability of agriculture.
