TreeTopAU strikes again! This time it's with Joehills and Cleo with a conversation that came to me when I was half asleep...

Two things: (1) I did NOT enjoy drawing the 4th frame and (2) there's a specific reason why Cleo's an ant and you've probably already thought about it.

Grian: uhh yes... any information would be nice

In the treetop AU I am really curious what X is. Some of the other hermits have some rather obvious things they could be but X is a free for all.

I’m also curious who shares Grian’s situation of being “prey” for lack of a better term

We're going with the classic SeaTurtle!Xisuma... But with a name like TreeTopAU he's either at the mythical ✨ground level✨ or very... very lost.

As for being "prey" I think its a matter of what goes in nature, Mumbo could have a nibble on a sleepy doormouse or a fiery hummingbird, but likewise he could fall prey to a cheerful bobcat or a talkative owl.

Although maybe, in the reality of this ModPack challenge-like world, I think there'd be large bodies of water up on the treetops somehow to simulate oceans and lakes, maybe in the inside of hollow dead trees? It would diversify the possible species available to play with. Because so far we have small mammals, reptiles, and birds. I'd love to have a couple fishy options.

In a more pressing reality of this AU, I think I just want to play this treetop challenge modpack.

A little bit more context because I was thinking about this more.

Grian *in spectator mode*: Oh my god I can't believe I'm going to get an alternate universe version of me killed!!

Sparrow!Grian: I shouldn'tve listened to you!!!

Grian: I dunno what to do! I- hold on... why are you blushing? Are you into this????

Sparrow!Grian: I'm not blushing?!!!?!?

Grian: you are?????

Snake!Mumbo: who on earth are you talking to??

S!Grian: A- an alternate universe version of me? Who told me about you.

S!Mumbo: a what?

S!Grian: y-yeah, h-he said we were friends in- in their universe.

Grian: Tell him about redstone!

S!Grian: he said the Mumbo in their universe really liked redstone!

S!Mumbo: red-what? how did you know my name?

S!Grian: that's what I said! Also the other me told me your name.

Grian: Does redstone not exist for you guys???

Grian: It's like, an ore... you dig down?

S!Grian: I- I know where to get it! Apparently you can make contraptions and stuff with it!

S!Mumbo: That... do you know how weird that sounds?

S!Mumbo: But... I am quite bored, and I did just eat earlier so I'm quite full...

*S!Grian and Grian gulps*

S!Mumbo: I'll see what all this redthing fuss is all about.

*S!Grian and Grian sighs in relief*

S!Mumbo: But... If its not interesting enough, I'll eat you instead :)

They go into an adventure trying to look for redstone (that may or may not actually exist in their universe) with a bit of difficulty as S!Mumbo did accidentally break one of S!Grian's wings. It is quite a trek though because their universe is kind of... treetop heavy. Basically kind of like a skyblock challenge where the ground level is miles below so a lot of the hermits have never even seen a grass block.

Speaking of other hermits, they do end up encountering the rest of the hermits in their journey, forming their group in the process. So I guess Grian actually succeeded at the whole friendification task.

Then I had a thought about Grian who heard that in some universes the hermits aren't friends and wanted to take a peek into their lives.
