Nepotism is based on favouritism granted to relatives in various fields like business, politics, entertainment, sports, religion and other activities. In the film industry, it deters a fair playing and undermines the film industry's reputation.
It creates cover that falls heavily on an individual pursuing their passion on acting without any connections to famous actors or actresses. This creates an huge impact on people who are working really hard to make themselves stand out with their talent and dedication.
Actors, producers and directors with influential background such as Saif Ali Khan, Ratanlal Bhagatram Choudary and Shankar Shanmugam can easily secure roles and projects, but individuals without such connections find themselves constantly struggling to even get noticed. Hard work, skills, and creativity often bounce back because of nepotism, leaving them to fight every time for a role or project they need.
It has become common for talented individuals to question their abilities when they see others succeeding based on their advantages and influences rather than earning it by themselves.
The influence of nepotism on actors who have entered the film industry through their own hard work and dedication, without anyone's help, is really high. Actors who have carved a place for themselves based on their true talent and efforts, often find themselves overshadowed by the success of nepotism-backed artists. This imbalance not only affects their career but also their overall view on the industry as a whole.
