German Home Fries, also known as bratkartoffeln, are a traditional German dish made of thinly sliced potatoes and onions that are fried until golden brown and crispy. They go well with any meal and taste great on their own.
Ingredients: 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 3 tablespoons vegetable oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Chopped fresh parsley for garnish optional.
Instructions: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced potatoes and onions to the skillet, spreading them out into an even layer. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are golden brown and crispy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired before serving.
