New Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 Kawasaki range
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An iconic name appears in the Kawasaki motorcycle range for the 2024 sales season with the announcement of a new Ninja ZX-6R and its tagline “Supersport Obsession”. Boasting a number of features not so far seen on the much-loved Supersport middleweight in previous iterations, the 2024 model has both technical and styling updates ready to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding street or track day rider. And with the aid of Kawasaki’s iconic Ram Air system a stunning maximum of 95.2 kW {129 PS} is produced at 13,000 rpm.
Tumblr media
The most obvious aspect of the new machine is the distinctive aero-winglet equipped Ninja “face” with purposeful aggressive lines incorporating for the first time hybrid projector/reflector headlights (part of a complete LED lighting package), and a new sports windshield equipped with special cut outs to reduce buffeting. The entire bodywork for 2024 uses interwoven layers to create a 3D effect, with the multiple layers adding to a high-class design.
Tumblr media
In terms of the cockpit area, a new 4.3inch (11cm) colour TFT meter makes its debut and also facilitates Smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology App. Information updates such as a shift light, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, Riding Mode indicator, Smartphone call and mail notices are all available. Also featured – along with all the familiar vehicle status updates – are a Bluetooth indicator and an Economical Riding Indicator. From a technical perspective, the famous and highly praised 636 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line four forms the core of the machine and now features revised cam profiles to satisfy stricter emission regulations plus revised intake funnels and revised header and collector pipes all combining to benefit low- to mid-rpm performance. A move to round over petal discs reflects the current Ninja ZX-10R family image while such items as the SFF-BP (Separate function fork with big piston), KQS Kawasaki Quick Shifter, three mode KTRC traction control and both power modes and integrated riding modes underpin the high specification of this Superport legend.
Tumblr media
Rolling on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available in two colourways for the upcoming season, a green version (naturally!) in Lime Green/Ebony plus a more “stealth” version combining Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Diablo Black. For sure Kawasaki dealers and loyal fans of the Ninja family will welcome the sight of a new and comprehensively updated Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 keeping the Ninja flame burning brightly. The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available from October and priced at £10,599 Checkout our dedicated Kawasaki Motorcycles UK News page Kawasaki Motorcycles UK News/ or head to the official Kawasaki Motorcycles UK website kawasaki.co.uk

Lucas Mahias Joins The Kawasaki Puccetti Racing Team With Okubo And Razgatlioglu
The Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team is pleased to announce that Lucas Mahias has joined its Supersport team and will thus be team-mate to the already confirmed Hikari Okubo.
Mahias was born in Mont de Marsan in France on 14 April 1989. Having debuted in the Moto2 world championship in 2013, the following year, in addition to being crowned French Supersport champion, he competed in the same category of the world series. In 2015, he continued on in the 600 world championship, reaching the podium at his home round of Magny Cours. The following season saw the versatile Frenchman competing in three categories: the world Endurance championship, the Superbike World Championship and the Superstock 1000 championship, in which he won the Misano and Magny Cours races.
2017 brought the ultimate confirmation when Lucas was crowned Supersport world champion, while this season he placed second in the overall standings. Such a successful and talented rider could only end up with team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, a squad that has played a starring role in the Supersport category for many years, scoring the world title in both 2015 and 2016.
Mahias joins Manuel Puccetti’s team on a one-year contract, with an option for Lucas if he were to move up to Superbike and an automatic renewal if he were to win the Supersport title.
The French rider has already had chance to test Puccetti Racing’s Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, during a two-day test held at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit on 26-27 November. Mahias proved to be comfortable with both his bike and his new team. In preparation for the opening round at Phillip Island, the test schedule foresees two additional sessions in January, at the Jerez and Portimao racetracks.
Manuel Puccetti – Team Principal: “It’s a pleasure and an honour to welcome a champion such as Lucas Mahias to our team. We want to give him another opportunity to win a Supersport title. I think that he is the rider that most deserves to race with what was the bike of five-time world champion Kenan Sofuoglu. I’m pleased that Hikari Okubo will remain with us for a second consecutive year and I’m sure that he can put his 2018 experience into good use, taking another step up in quality to be a consistent top-five contender. The Jerez tests confirmed the quality of our bikes and riders and, also in light of the new regulation, I am sure that we will able to fight for the Supersport title, which remains our main goal. As for the Superbike championship, with one year of experience under his belt, I think Toprak Razgatlioglu will be even more competitive. I therefore expect not just podium places, something he already achieved in 2018, but also race wins”.
Lucas Mahias: “I’m very happy to be a part of team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing. After having spent many years with the same manufacturer, I needed new motivation and couldn’t have ended up in a better place, considering that Kawasaki and team Puccetti are as keen as I am to win the world title. During the Jerez tests, I was reminded of my previous battles with Sofuoglu and now that I’ve ridden the Ninja ZX-6R, I understand why Kenan was so competitive. The bike already performs well, but we still have a lot of work to do with many things to test. I cannot wait to get back on track for testing at Jerez and Portimao, to continue our set up work in order to be ready for Phillip Island”.
Hikari Okubo: “I’m really pleased to stay with the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team in 2019. The 2018 season was not an easy one for me, but it allowed me to gain experience and learn more about the bike and my rivals, so I’m optimistic about next year. I want to aim to run at the front each weekend and know this is not an impossible dream. It won’t be easy of course, but I know I can count on team Puccetti and its professional staff. I’m highly motivated and want to give it my all in every race. Thanks to Kawasaki, the sponsors and my whole team”.
Toprak Razgatlioglu: “Staying with team Kawasaki Puccetti Racing is definitely the best thing for me. My debut season in Superbike was difficult but positive, also thanks to my team, always ready to help me. In 2019, I want to continue to grow and take another step up in terms of quality. I cannot wait to get going with the next tests and then round one at Phillip Island, the first in a season that promises to be very important for my career”.

New Post has been published on http://superbike-news.co.uk/wordpress/rea-continues-to-lead-the-way-as-jerez-test-comes-to-a-close/
Rea continues to lead the way as Jerez test comes to a close
Sun shone down on Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto once again for the second of a two day test in Southern Spain, where four MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship teams continued to work on their 2019 set-ups. Over 600 laps of the 4.2km circuit were run by the eight riders, and steps were made ahead of what is set to be a sensational season with new bikes, new teams and new riders. Despite this, it was still four time world champion Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) who led the way.
Rea continued with his sensational pace out on track for the second and final day of testing, as the 2018 world champion was continuing to work on getting the chassis in tune with the engine on his ZX-10RR. Explaining that his new bike offers even more potential than the 2018 Ninja, he was a force to be reckoned with, setting the fastest lap time of 1.38.713. On the other side of the garage, new team-mate Leon Haslam (Kawasaki Racing Team – WorldSBK) was left with one bike after a big crash on Monday. However this didn’t stop the Brit putting the laps in, as he reached over 100 on the second day. Ending the day in third with a time of 1.39.766, Haslam was able to continue with his base setting of the ZX-10RR and will take some strong pace into the winter.
It was a telling two days for the Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team, as they began to understand the work they will need to do to bridge the gap to the green and red machines out on track. Working through their small updates for 2019, Alex Lowes had a strong test sitting in second position for most of the day, bridging the gap to fastest man Rea. Whilst for team-mate Michael van der Mark, it was a tough test as he was riding injured from his crash in Qatar, which resulted in a fracture to his wrist. Working to get more grip and acceleration on exit amongst other factors, Lowes finished in second position overall, 0.664s off Rea’s pace whilst van der Mark was sixth and 1.379s behind.
Lessons continued to be learnt for the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati squad with Chaz Davies and Alvaro Bautista getting to grips with the all new Panigale V4 R. British rider Davies is continuing to struggle with his shoulder injury sustained over the summer break, meaning he isn’t riding at 100%. Moving his focus over to electronics and throttle connection on his new machine, it was a busy day for Davies who finished in fifth overall. Whilst for Bautista, he had a more challenging second day with his V4 R, suffering two crashes during the day around Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto. Able to walk away from both crashes, Bautista was still happy with the bike as he works on his base set up and understanding the WorldSBK machine. Putting in an impressive pace on his debut, Bautista was able to finish in fourth, with a lap time of 1.39.845.
For new WorldSBK team GRT Yamaha, Sandro Cortese and Marco Melandri were continuing to get to grips with the YZF-R1. Happy with the progress they have made, 2018 WorldSSP champion Cortese was still working on adapting and adjusting to an SBK® machine, whilst Melandri was working on his base setting and with the Pirelli tyres.
WorldSSP riders were also out on track for the final day of action, with some valuable track time on offer for many riders. Raffaele De Rosa was out with the MV Agusta Reparto Corse squad searching for those final steps to secure the win that he was so close to securing in 2018. Lucas Mahias was out on track again with Kawasaki Puccetti Racing, getting used to the bike after a big crash yesterday and Hikari Okubo (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) was back on the ZX-6R, working on updates.
Unofficial Combined Times Jerez Day Two

New Post has been published on http://superbike-news.co.uk/wordpress/ben-wilson-returns-to-racing-with-gearlink-kawasaki-in-2019/
Ben Wilson returns to racing with Gearlink Kawasaki in 2019
After recovering from injuries sustained in a crash at the 2016 Northwest 200, Ben Wilson will make a much anticipated return to the Dickies British Supersport Championship for the 2019 season.
It has been a long and arduous recovery process for Wilson, who will once again compete at the highest level thanks to sheer determination and perseverance. The Englishman can now be confident that he will enter the 2019 season totally primed to rub elbows at the front of the 600cc class once again.
Wilson enjoys a rich history in the 600cc Supersport class, only narrowly missing out on the Championship title by 1 point in 2011 and taking race wins, plus podiums across a number of seasons throughout his career.
2019 will be a promising campaign for both rider and team as they continue to chase the Championship win that has eluded them to this point.
Ben Wilson is counting down the days until he can eagerly work towards achieving his dream, saying, “After the longest break I’ve ever had from motorcycle racing, it’s great to be returning and riding a Kawasaki. I’ve waited until now to make a comeback because my leg has not been ready for me to run at the sharp end, but I know with a good testing program over the winter months I will be right where I need to be. I can’t wait to get out on the new Gearlink Kawasaki and get the 2019 campaign under way. Big thanks to Gearlink Kawasaki and Kawasaki UK for standing by me and giving me this fantastic opportunity.”
Kawasaki Motors UK Senior Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge is pleased with Wilson’s decision to pick up where he left off, saying, “I am so happy to see Ben back racing for 2019! Ben has been a big part of the Team Green family for many years, and I for one have always wanted to witness him take the Supersport title. His injury was horrendous and would see most people not come back to racing, but Ben has shown amazing willpower over the past couple of years to get back to where he is now. He’s been on the Gearlink Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R already and is showing good pace, so I can’t wait to see him out on track at round 1 next year.”

New Post has been published on http://superbike-news.co.uk/wordpress/2019-debut-for-new-sublime-road-supersport-ninja-zx%e2%80%916r/
2019 debut for new sublime road Supersport Ninja ZX‑6R
With multiple Championships in the WorldSSP category and track day praise from numerous Kawasaki riders, the Ninja ZX-6R concept moves to the next level in 2019 with the introduction of a sublime Supersport iteration with equal track day and road prowess.
Utilising Kawasaki’s by now legendary 636cc capacity engine, the latest in the Ninja mid-weight Supersport line now boasts a KQS quick shifter for up shifts allied to a new meter panel that includes functions such as an economical riding indicator plus fuel gauge and remaining range function, all hinting at the clever balanced achieved between track focus and street vision.
In addition to the standard fit assist and slipper clutch, other rider friendly features include a handy 12V power take-off for electrical accessories shows that short intense track day rides and longer weekend excursions are now both well within the scope of the Ninja ZX-6R.
The list of standard fit rider aids for 2019 is truly impressive including KTRC traction control, Kawasaki’s intelligent anti-lock braking system (KIBS) plus the convenience of two-stage power mode selection. Add a chassis equipped with the much praised Showa BFF separate function front fork and a sporty yet refined ergonomic riding position and the riding style options are numerous.
Track day fans will appreciate the adjustable shift-up indicator, monobloc calipers and large front disc rotors plus the choice of Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres as standard fit along with optional accessories such as Öhlins steering damper, axle sliders and colour coded pillion seat cover.
And in terms of outward looks, the fresh new bodywork approach sees the Ninja clad in a new cowling – complete with twin LED headlamps – that is both unique to this model yet reflects the evolving Ninja look. Add an aggressive and angular tail section and there can be no mistake, the latest ZX-6R certainly has “curb appeal”.
Euro4 compliant with an improved power and torque feeling, the classic Kawasaki mid-weight Supersport icon has now expanded to include a machine that can perform with the best on a track day then spend the remainder of the weekend racking up distances like no other machine it its category.
