Gearing Up for the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser to Make its Way to Orlando Toyota
We’re so excited that Toyota has decided to revive the iconic Land Cruiser SUV! Toyota of Orlando is here to let you know what to expect from the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser when it arrives next spring.
Tumblr media
You may remember that in 2021 Toyota released the last Land Cruiser model, which was a large luxury SUV. It had a super sleek and sophisticated design with great off-roading capabilities and featured a 5.7L V8 engine. The negatives of this vehicle were the lack of fuel efficiency and the high MSRP - more than $80k. The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will have some major differences and improvements - here are some of the biggest elements:
Bigger focus on off-roading functionality
Not as “luxury” as the 2021 Land Cruiser
MSRP around $50k range
i-FORCE-MAX turbocharged 2.4L four-cylinder hybrid powertrain
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser: What to Expect
Here are just a few details that our Orlando team knows about the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser so far!
Global TNGA-F body-on-frame made from extremely strong steel, giving more rigidity to the chassis
4.4 inches narrower and 1.2 inches shorter than 2021 model
Three different models - the Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Land Cruiser 1958, and Toyota Land Cruiser First Edition
i-FORCE MAX engine will get 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque (plus better fuel efficiency)
Full-time four-wheel drive system with center locking differential and electronically controlled two-speed transfer case
Let’s Talk About the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Design Features
Smaller interior - 5 seater with a moonroof instead of 8 seats like the 2021 model
New technology including the latest Audio Multimedia System with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected services, and over-the-air updates
12.3-inch multimedia monitor and 14-speaker premium JBL sound system
Each model will have a different interior - from fabric choice to SofTex to leather-trimmed seats in multiple colors
Unique heritage badging, round headlights, and new paint colors such as Wind Chill Pearl, Trail Dust, and Heritage Blue
Sporty, boxy exterior with RIGID lighting and 18” alloy wheels
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system with blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and hill start assist control

The legendary Toyota Land Cruiser SUV was discontinued in America after the 2021 model year, leaving a big gap in Toyota's lineup. But the automaker has now confirmed the Land Cruiser nameplate will return to the US market for 2025, albeit with a different mission than before. Here's what we know so far about Toyota's plans for the reborn Land Cruiser in America: Điểm nổi báșt The 2025 Land Cruiser will be smaller and more off-road capable than the last US model. It's expected to share underpinnings with the upcoming 2024 Lexus GX SUV. A V6 turbo engine and hybrid powertrain are likely. The new Land Cruiser will fill the role of a midsize off-roader, while the Lexus LX retains the full-size luxury niche. Toyota is repositioning Land Cruiser into a new segment to avoid overlap with the Sequoia SUV. Downsizing for Better Off-Road Ability The last-generation Land Cruiser was a large SUV targeted at luxury buyers looking for utility. But it didn't have the hardcore off-road talents of rivals like the Jeep Wrangler. According to reports, Toyota aims to change that with the 2025 Land Cruiser. Rather than directly replacing the old model, Toyota will downsize the new Land Cruiser so it competes more directly against the Wrangler and Ford Bronco. To achieve this, the 2025 Cruiser is expected to ride on the same platform as the upcoming 2024 Lexus GX. That means it will be smaller and lighter than before, with a tighter turning radius for navigating rocky trails. Benefits of the smaller size: Better approach, departure, and breakover angles for off-roading Lower curb weight improves traction and maneuverability Shorter wheelbase allows tighter turns on trails More capability to fit down narrow tracks By leaving the full-size luxury niche to the Lexus LX, Toyota can reinvent Land Cruiser as a dedicated off-roader. Shared Underpinnings with Lexus GX Toyota's plan is believed to involve badge engineering - taking the next-gen Lexus GX and selling it as a Land Cruiser. This strategy makes sense since the Lexus GX already has strong off-road credentials thanks to its body-on-frame construction. Elements expected to be carried over from the GX: Body-on-frame platform (TNGA-F) Available torque-vectoring rear differential Upgraded suspension with height-adjustable air springs Skid plates and underbody armor By equipping the new Land Cruiser with the GX's hardware, Toyota can imbue it with serious 4x4 capabilities. Powertrain Options: V6, Turbo, and Hybrid To power the downsized Cruiser, Toyota has two compelling engine options: Turbo V6 (expected): 3.4L twin-turbo gas V6 349 hp / 479 lb-ft torque Same engine as upcoming Lexus GX Hybrid V6 (optional): 3.5L V6 with rear electric motor Increased torque for off-roading Improved fuel efficiency The V6 turbo will deliver robust acceleration for conquering steep terrain, while the hybrid will balance power with efficiency. Toyota may also offer a 4-cylinder turbo in lower trims, like that in the Tacoma pickup. But serious off-roaders will gravitate to the V6. Positioning Change Frees Up Design Opportunity With the Lexus LX filling the role of a luxury full-size SUV, Toyota has a chance to take Land Cruiser in a new stylistic direction. Expect rugged, aggressive styling cues inspired by concepts like the Compact Cruiser EV. Design elements could include: Prominent skid plates and armor Short front and rear overhangs Flared wheel arches covering big all-terrain tires Safari-style roof racks and lights The interior will also take on a more purposeful look, with rubberized floors, waterproof surfaces, and aux switches for off-road accessories. New Role for 4Runner in Toyota's Lineup The return of the Land Cruiser will shake up Toyota's SUV lineup. One result could be the 4Runner moving to fill the role of a Bronco/Wrangler fighter. With
the Land Cruiser taking over midsize family-hauler duties, Toyota could reinvent 4Runner into a compact hardcore off-roader. This might involve: Moving to a ladder-frame chassis Increased ground clearance and approach angles Focus on rock crawling over cargo space The revived Land Cruiser allows Toyota to better differentiate between its SUV offerings. Each model can be targeted at a more precise audience than before. FAQs When will the new Land Cruiser be revealed? We expect Toyota to unveil the 2025 Land Cruiser sometime in 2024 as a 2025 model year vehicle. Will it be called the Land Cruiser Prado in the US? Toyota may drop the Prado name and just call it Land Cruiser. Prado denoted a smaller midsize model not originally sold here. What will the new Land Cruiser cost? Pricing is unconfirmed, but expect it to start around $55,000 - $65,000 for the base trim. The top TRD Pro trim could exceed $70,000. How capable will it be off-road? With a ruggedized version of the Lexus GX platform, the new Cruiser should be highly capable on trails. Its smaller size will also improve breakover and departure angles. When will Toyota reveal details? 2024 is likely the soonest we'll learn full details, as the Land Cruiser isn't expected until the 2025 model year. Stay tuned for updates. The Takeaway The revived Land Cruiser won't be a continuation of the last-gen model. Instead, Toyota is reimagining it as a more focused midsize SUV tailored for off-roading rather than luxury. By sharing a platform with the rugged Lexus GX, adopting potent powertrains, and taking on a new design direction, the 2025 Land Cruiser could be a serious contender in the 4x4 segment. Toyota is playing to the nameplate's heritage and should entice serious off-roaders. #Wiack #Car #CarInsurance #CarRental #CarPrice #AutoLoans

Old Land Cruiser Wins Against the New
Tumblr media
Toyota just unveiled the most recent iteration of their renowned Land Cruiser SUV, which is built on brand-new architecture and features a twin-turbo V-6 engine. Here, we'll remind you of the key distinctions between the current and previous versions.
The Motor:
A newly created 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 409 horsepower (305 kW) and 650 Nm of torque has replaced the 5.7-liter V8.
The turbo pair allows the V6 to generate almost 30 horsepower more than the V8 despite having fewer cylinders. Torque increases considerably by about 108 Nm, and the engine is also more efficient than the engine in the previous iteration.
Front Exterior:
The GR Yaris hot hatch and Supra's headlight design are somewhat evocative of the new front of the LC300, which adds a touch of modernity both inside and out.
The latest generation features two front grilles, albeit one of them is small in size and extends from the bottom of the huge grille to contact the headlamps as soon as we glance at the automobile. The Land Cruiser 2022 now has a more intimidating aspect than the 2021 model, which has a massive grille that separates the headlamps into two halves.
Rear Exterior:
The slimmer LED lights in the 2022 edition, combined with a thinner back glass, made the design seem smaller than the previous car, which led many fans to prefer the older version.
The Interior:
With the addition of an entertainment system compatible with a 9-inch screen as standard and a 12.3-inch screen as an option, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, the inside of the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser underwent clear and sophisticated improvements.
The potential for wireless smartphone charging, a 360-degree camera, and a front screen on the windscreen are other distinguishing features.
The Land Cruiser 2021, on the other hand, has an integrated navigation system with a 9-inch touchscreen and wireless charging for gadgets. A 14-speaker JBL audio system and satellite radio are included as standard. The options menu may include a rear-seat entertainment system with two 11.6-inch screens and a pair of wireless headphones.
We appreciate everyone who voted, and please check back frequently for new Tazweed coverage.

Lexus J201: The Off-Roader’s Fantasy
Tumblr media
Lexus LX
At first glance, the Lexus LX570 impresses with its large proportions and showy looks. But what might not be immediately obvious to the passerby, is that hidden underneath all the luxury and glamour, is a highly capable off-road vehicle the likes of Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco and Mercedes G-Class.
Tumblr media
2021 Lexus LX570
Lexus has been known for its off-road capable vehicles for decades now. The two key models include the LX and GX, both of which exist thanks to the Toyota Land Cruiser, which they are based on. With versatile performance on any terrain, the LX570 boasts excellent body stability on uneven surfaces, responsive steering, adaptive air suspension, crawl control, real-time four-wheel-drive with active traction control and 7000-lb towing capacity. It is a tough brick that likes to get its shoes dirty.
For those who desire to get more out of their LX, either new or old, there is a plethora of aftermarket parts and upgrades available that further enhance its off-road capabilities. Everything from lift kits, to body kits, light bars, snorkels, tires, wheels, brakes, suspension
and the list goes on. Upgrading your car with aftermarket performance parts is a great way to improve its functionality and to personalize it. With the vast amount of parts available for the LX570, there is everything one needs to make it their dream off-roader.
J201 Concept
The J201 Concept is an LX570 that has been fine-tuned with aftermarket performance parts. Its inspiration comes from the large community of Lexus SUV owners who love to venture off-road and explore the great outdoors. Lexus calls this group of people “Experimental Adventurers,” and has built the J201 Concept with them in mind. The name “J201” comes from the internal model code for the LX. J201 is the chassis code, which is well known among off-roading enthusiasts.
Exterior Upgrades
Front and rear off-road bumpers that add under-body reinforcement and improve ground clearance
Front bumper winch and light bar
Rear bumper lights
Trunk-mounted spare tire, ladder and water cans
Roof rack and roof light bar
Downsized wheels (from 20” to 17”) that make room for off-road tires with large sidewall and deep grooves
Drilled front and rear brake rotors with performance pads
Upgraded suspension control arms and spacers
Adjusted height sensors that allow for higher air suspension lift
Under-body protection in the form of rock sliders and skid plates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
J201 Closed Swing-Outs
Tumblr media
Open Swing-Outs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
J201 Drilled Brake Rotors
Engine/Drivetrain Upgrades
Supercharger that boosts power output to 550 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque (compared to the original 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque)
Performance differentials
Air snorkel
Air compressor for tire inflation
Interior Upgrades
Accessory interface for controlling lighting, differential, compressor, battery and angle meter
Aluminum storage cases
Drawers with dog bowls, tools and first aid kit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The J201 “Concept” isn’t a concept in the traditional sense, with one-off parts and a non production spec design. Rather, this is a standard LX570 with real world aftermarket parts from real brands, built to showcase the versatile capabilities of the LX platform. While the J201 Concept likely won’t make it to production, you can build one just like it using all the same parts. And if a new LX570 is pricey, older models of the LX, GX and Land Cruiser can be picked up for cheap. Even without all the fancy tech of a new LX570, they are nevertheless great platforms for driving off the beaten path and enjoying some outdoors.
The J201 is currently competing in the all-female Rebelle Rally, a week long event where participants are tasked with navigating across more than 1,200 miles of treacherous Nevada and California desert without a GPS or cell phone, moving from checkpoint to checkpoint using physical maps and a compass. With two expert drivers/navigators behind the wheel, I have no doubt the J201 will perform spectacularly.
