Set 6201 Toxic Reapa VF Upgrade - 86 pieces

In February I decided to particapate in Hero February or HFfeb with the simple concept of what if the 2012 breakout Villains were upgraded in The Villain factory, hence the names. I'll be posting them over the course of a couple days with some details about the building process and some additional story bits althought I can't garantee anything major.

This build is was limited by a one major factor, that being studio having an extremely limeted selection of flexible pieces, they're hard to use and the pieces I wanted to use aren't included in that selection of flexible pieces, they will be included in the parts list and should attach to the ends of the blasters.

I fucking found it.

Unlike the Vortixx capitalism thing, I wasn't doing research for MNADL when I found this. I was actually doing research for the Superhero AU.

Ok but like. As stupid as the original Hero Factory ending concept was (where Makuro was a Turaga and it was the Bonkleverse all along and there was an evil Villain Factory under the Hero Factory building or whatever), there is something kinda profound about a creation of the Great Beings proceeding to not only do basically what the GBs did, but also to make his own creations resemble the species that created him in the first place (the 1.0 and Breakout designs used the same head-piece as Bionicle's '09 sets).

EDIT: This might not actually be a real thing. I thought it was, but I can't find any actual evidence.

Rebuilt my CCBS frame and tried to make some generic folks from different Hero Factory species

I feel like I can do Toxic Reapa more justice with better enders than just one pose.

Stringer: You're assuming he was built

Furno: what, so you think he was born?

Stringer: Either that, or he hatched. Either way makes sense

Surge: WAIT, I thought only the fleshy people could be born?

Furno: No, some of em can be hatched. I'm pretty sure Toxic Reapa was made in a lab

Surge: yeah, but only parts of him are metal. Makuro is all built I'm pretty sure, right Breez?

Breez: now I can't get the image of Mr. Makura hatching out of my head

I wonder if, between missions, the Heroes sit around theorizing about where they think Mr. Makuro came from. Cuz they definitely d9nt know for sure

Bulthros, a Dark Hunter experiment now in the service of the Brotherhood of Makuta. Still working on the backstory for this one.

This a total revamp of an old MOC I had lying around. He used to be much, much uglier. The point of this guy was to combine the aspects of Corrodor, Meltdown, and Toxic Reapa all into one and set him in the Bionicle universe, and I think it turned out nicely. Those aren’t sprayers on his hands, by the by: Those are energy cannons. The vat on the back is raw fuel, because canonically Bulthros’ weapons are so energy inefficient they use up tons of it for what they do. It doesn’t help matters that Bulthros favors big, energy intensive explosions over small ones, either. 

Speaking of Corrodor, anyone else think it was weird that Hero Factory’s first season had not one, but two Acid/Poison/Radiation themed villains? And then a third in Breakout? I’m not saying HF was lacking for variety, especially in its later waves, but they really milked that theme for all it was worth. It didn’t help matters that from a building perspective, they all borrowed from the same list of parts you’d associate with a toxin-related villain: sprayers, tentacles, sharp claws, canisters and buckets presumably filled with lethal substances and tubes. That’s mostly why I was able to make Bulthros in the first place.

Toxic Reapa (Never really got why it was spelled like that) I have this lil guy built already. Well, sort of. He just needs replacement parts and parts for his toxic shooters. The smallest of all the villains so far. I love this lil guy so much.

I could've had him.

I was at the Lego store last weekend and he was /right there/ but nope I wanted a shark man.

Argh I need this and I am getting him the second I spot him.
