What are some placements someone may have that point to working in hospitality, travel, and tourism? I’m in this field so I’m very curious! Thank you ☺️
Cancer 10h, cancer moon—A lot of these natives gravitate towards traveling I’ve noticed. Their job may require lengthy times away from home! Someone I knew was a construction worker and traveled by the airport just to get work done. These natives feel comfortable working solo most of the time.
Libra rising/moon—Works with others and can be great at hospitality! Libras can be quite social as well and have a vast network of friends in their job. The type to travel and study abroad!
Taurus moon/Venus—May want to become a pharmacist, nurse, or doctor. Great at studying and teaching information to others. Takes their work seriously, and knows their field will pay off. They themselves may have had health issues and want to help others through theirs.
Saturn 6h, sun 6h, Venus 6h—Takes care of their health and motivates others to do the same. May become influential in social media for their food, gym progress. If not, their studies will take them far in hospitality and may go one to have a masters/PHD. Venus 6h is more likely to work with children. Venus 6h adores travel daily and wants to see different parts of their town/city. May drive around a lot! Sun 6h as well.
Saturn 6h may want to settle down in an area for a while to explore it rather than rushing. Known yo take their journeys slow and may even document it! Can become a vlogger and help to guide others around destinations because of their knowledge.
Moon-saturn asp— can make a native not settle down in one place for too long. Though this issue usually stems from trauma and not feeling safe at home most of the time. These natives can bounce around a lot. These aspects also make an individual adept at understanding patient needs, because they tap into patients instincts and their Saturn aspect can provide structure to patients who need it. More likely to become a social worker.
Sagittarius sun—These natives just have a natural curiosity for the world. They want to know what there is out there than what is around them currently. Thirst for adventure!
Jupiter 1h, moon 1h—Great emotional depth and empathy, able to connect with others with ease. Their ability to sense deeper energies helps them to connect to nature. Because of their need to be alone to recover, these natives can end up traveling a lot in their lifetime.
Leo sun—May love getting out and about. Roadtrips, and may love to take others for adventures too. I can also see Leos connecting with patients in need, specifically children to help them heal. May work in NICU departments with infants, become a pediatrician.
Virgo sun/moon—great with working with their health and may encourage others to do the same. May believe in healing with nature and is more likely to travel to decompress and relax. Tries to encourage holistic treatments! May become a doctor related to the bones, physical therapy. Might become a masseuse.
Moon 12h—can go one to become a doctor, more so in the psychology field but not limited! May be into acupuncture. Their work may require they work far away since the 12h rules distant lands. Learns to embrace solitude through their work.
Pisces—A lot of these natives become a doctor in the sense of spirituality. They may perform reiki to help others, be into astrology, tarot, the occult.
Gemini—Loves to travel and share their knowledge! Similar to 6h placements. They love to be open minded to learning new things including culture and history of the places they go. Their stories are fascinating.

Space.
Yeah, science b*tch.
Space is, and let us make no bones about this, the cat's whiskers. The news each day is grim, and seemingly only ever grimmer. So it makes a refreshing change once in a while when those fine folk in the whitecoats deliver some fascinating, albeit existential, updates. But even here, there is better and worse: for better, for example, in the last year alone a rogue black hole was spotted on its own for the first time, NASA’s DART Mission hit an asteroid in a first-ever planetary defense test, and astronomers revealed the first image of the black hole at the heart of our galaxy. Very nice, very cool. Very space.
However, it seems we never learn when to leave a good (and very big, scary) thing well enough alone from the claws of capitalism, as Virgin Galactic plans to launch its first space tourism flight. In any case, we can't exactly blame their curiosity. The study of space has captivated our tiny minds for millennia, and it remains a beautiful, fascinating, frightening, and silent enigma. There are endless mysteries up there, and the question for us is whether they are best left well alone. Or, in the immortal words of Ian Malcolm, "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, that they didn't stop to think if they should."
So let's give it up for the magnificent beauty and ceaseless, elusive terror that is #space.

the OceansGate coverage is fascinating in part because it lets you see the bullshit world of billionaires so clearly. like, take this forbes article about the submarine. they include this photo of the British billionaire tourist Hamish Harding who's on the sub. look at the caption!
Tumblr media
a reasonable person reading this without additional context might see "astronaut" and "mission specialist" and think: oh, this guy is a dedicated researcher. someone who goes to space and the ocean floor out of curiosity and wonder, to contribute to human knowledge, to gather information and bring it back for the collective good
and like..,..... yeah he's been to space. technically. but the important context is that this photo is from when the billionaire went on jeff bezos's weird space tourism thing
this photo! is him getting a participation trophy! after spending 200,000-300,000 USD on an 11 minute plane ride that technically reaches space (as in, they go above the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space, 62 miles above earth. for like a couple minutes.)
is "astronaut" really the best term for someone who's done that?? when "space tourist" is right there???? "leech who exploits workers to amass a fortune and then spends it on elaborate astronaut cosplay"???

The History of Petrified Wood in Indonesia
Indonesia, an archipelago rich in geological and cultural history, is home to some of the most fascinating petrified wood deposits in the world. The country's unique geological conditions have created an environment conducive to the formation of these remarkable fossils. Here's a closer look at the history and significance of petrified wood in Indonesia. Sell Petrified wood in etsy
#### Geological Background
Indonesia's location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area with significant volcanic activity, provides the ideal conditions for the formation of petrified wood. Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and the resulting sediment deposits have played a crucial role in the creation of petrified wood. Over millions of years, trees buried by volcanic ash and other sediments have undergone permineralization, resulting in the beautiful stone fossils we see today.
#### Discovery and Early Uses
The discovery of petrified wood in Indonesia dates back to ancient times, with locals finding and using these stone-like pieces in various ways. Early communities may have used petrified wood for tools, ornaments, and ceremonial objects, appreciating its durability and unique appearance.
In modern times, particularly in the 20th century, the commercial and scientific interest in petrified wood increased. Local artisans began to recognize the aesthetic and economic value of petrified wood, crafting it into jewelry, furniture, and decorative items. This trade provided a source of income for many communities and helped put Indonesian petrified wood on the global map.
#### Notable Sites
Several regions in Indonesia are renowned for their petrified wood deposits, each with its unique characteristics:
- **Banten**: Located in western Java, Banten is famous for its high-quality petrified wood. The area has yielded numerous large and well-preserved specimens, attracting both scientists and collectors. SELL ON ETSY
- **Sumatra**: The island of Sumatra, particularly the regions around Jambi and West Sumatra, has significant deposits of petrified wood. The fossils found here are often characterized by their vibrant colors and intricate patterns.
- **Kalimantan (Borneo)**: Kalimantan is another key area with rich deposits of petrified wood. The region's tropical climate and volcanic activity have contributed to the formation of diverse and well-preserved specimens.
#### Scientific and Cultural Significance
The study of petrified wood in Indonesia provides valuable insights into the region's ancient environments and climatic conditions. By examining these fossils, scientists can reconstruct past landscapes, understand vegetation changes, and gain a better understanding of the geological processes at play.
Culturally, petrified wood holds a special place in Indonesian heritage. It is often used in traditional crafts and modern art, symbolizing the connection between the natural world and human creativity. The trade and display of petrified wood also contribute to local economies, supporting artisanal communities and promoting tourism.
#### Conservation Efforts
As interest in petrified wood has grown, so too have concerns about its conservation. Over-collection and illegal mining can threaten the preservation of these natural treasures. Efforts are being made to regulate the collection and trade of petrified wood, ensuring that these fossils are protected for future generations.
#### Conclusion
Petrified wood in Indonesia is more than just a geological curiosity; it is a testament to the country's rich natural history and cultural heritage. From ancient times to the present day, these stone fossils have captivated the imagination and provided valuable resources for both scientific study and artistic expression. As efforts to conserve and protect petrified wood continue, its legacy will remain a significant part of Indonesia's story. Petrified wood bowl in etsy

{18Trip} The 18 Questions Corner - Yowa Netaro
Tumblr media
This is a translation for the 18 questions interview uploaded on the official Youtube channel. I suggest to read this translation alongside it!
Note: P stands for "Player", this series has a voiced male & female character for the player. The interviews are conducted by the male player in this case.
TL note:
メロメロリン (lit. meromerorin) comes from how if you’re completely head over heels over someone, or infatuated by them, you’ll be meromero. Essentially, a word that means to be madly in love. In Japanese, it’s also what the Pokemon move Attract is called. -Rin is an extra addition to make it sound cute.
I believe 369 in “Cafe369” is a reference to 3-6-9 theory from Nikola Tesla. The gist of it is that these numbers hold the key to the whole universe, so to say.
P: 18 questions for the Tourism Ward Mayors! We look forward to your cooperation!
Netaro: At last my turn hath come.
Tumblr media
What’s your name?
It is Yowa Netaro.
How old are you?
It’s a leap way beyond circa 35,000 hours.
Tell us about your occupation!
The genius frontman of a fine meat bun establishment named “Cafe369” is no one other than I~!
What’s the first thing you do when waking up in the morning?
Working out my arms and legs!
Anything you’re particular about with lunch?
I eat until my tummy’s full~
What pops up in your mind when it comes to “evening”?
Evening. Placing it in the context of a weather forecast, it’s a word specifying the window of time between 3 pm to 6 pm. Thus, 3 pm to 6 pm it shall be!
What’s your routine before bed?
A movie and TV drama watch party♪
Where do you start with washing your body?
My temple!
What’s essential when leaving for a trip?
Intellectual curiosity♪
What do you check before traveling somewhere?
The zoo hath lately piqued my interest!
What’s your favorite method of transportation for traveling?
Plaaane!
What’s one item you’d bring to a deserted island?
A perfect deserted island all-in-one survival set IN a fourth dimensional bag!
Please give us some fanservice!
Leave it to me! Ahem, ahem- Aaa~aaah. ✧・゚: *Not a chance I’d let you have any regrets for coming this far to see me, Honey.*:・゚✧ …Kabam!
Who’s someone you’d lean on for support?
I turn to Evening Squad’s Nari. That fella has, indeed, an excellent observant eye.
Who would you swap bodies with for a day?
Hmmmmm~ I have settled on Evening Squad’s Kuu!
What would you want to do as them?
I, akin to Kuu, also want to put mortals under an enthralling spell!
Pass on a message to your roommates!
Toi and Ryui, you two make quite the interesting pair if I do say so myself! And the other one besides them… he’s also included♪
Tell us from the heart, what’s a “journey” to you?
Something along the likes of going on a stroll!
P: Thank you, those were all 18 questions!
Netaro: Nicely done! I wonder if my charm has been sufficiently transmitted~?
Tumblr media
Netaro: HAMA’s 18th Ward Mayor, the man known as Yowa Netaro~! At Cafe369, you can have your fill again and again with never before seen meat buns, invented by yours truly~!
More TL notes:
While not translatable in English, Netaro’s dialogue has a tendency to deploy わ (wa) for the particle は (ha, but read as wa). It's a stylistic choice.
~のじゃ (~noja) is an archaic take on ~のだ. It functions as ~です essentially. It’s old man speak, or “little anime girls who look 12 but actually they are a gazillion trillion billion years old" speak.

Twisted Wonderland Sightseeing and Travel Centre - Homepage
Travel FAQ || Accommodations || NRC Homepage || RSA Homepage
Tumblr media
Is it your first time visiting Twisted Wonderland? If so, please allow us the honour to introduce our beautiful region to you! Whether you are planning your trip as a relaxing getaway or are looking to feel the thrill of watching our nation’s best battling it out, you are sure to find this region worth your time.
From the lush forests of Briar Valley over the impressive dunes of the Scalding Sands all the way to the azure depths of the Coral Sea, the region boasts not only awe-inspiring flora, but also various species of pokémon. You might recognise some of their names from your Pokédex, yet their appearance is guaranteed to surprise you. Yes, much like other regions, Twisted Wonderland is home to a few regional variants that we call ‘Twisted Forms’.
After a day’s worth of exploring everything the region has to offer, you can immerse yourself in the exciting atmosphere of a professional pokémon battle. Whether it is in the stands of one of our many stadiums or from the comfort of your temporary home through televised and online streams, watching the nation’s best give it their all is guaranteed to get your heart racing!
What sets the battles in Twisted Wonderland apart from those in other regions is the ability of strong trainers to use their Unique Magic to directly influence a battle. It’s a trainer’s innate talent that cannot be copied by anyone else and marks those who are able to use it as truly strong. It goes without saying that these abilities have the potential to change the flow of any battle and keep a match interesting until the very end!
Given the popularity of Pokémon battles as a sport, it should come as no surprise that many aspire to go professional and climb the League’s ranks. However, only a select few have what it takes. Sage Island is the epicentre of developing all things Pokémon-related. Not only is it home to the Pokémon League, the most prestigious academic institutions for aspiring young adults are located there as well.
Both Night Raven College and Royal Sword Academy, run by leading professors Dire Crowley and Ambrose LXIII, have the reputation of fostering a learning environment that consistently produces the strongest trainers of a generation. Furthermore, their students are also recognised in various other fields, such as the development and manufacturing of gadgets or the studies of types, attacks, abilities, evolutions and the like. Therefore it is not surprising many of them receive offers to go abroad for their internship to study under renowned professors and entrepreneurs from all over the world.
In fact, these institutions are so accomplished, they host the local Gym Challenge, which enables trainers outside the Top 10 to challenge the Elite Four in order to potentially qualify for the annual Champion’s Tournament. To determine which school gets the prestigious honour of putting forward the Gym Leaders, an exclusive tournament is held at the beginning of the season. For the past few decades, RSA has been able to clutch the win on the privilege of hosting the Gym Challenge.
Has your curiosity been piqued and your wanderlust set in? If so, the Twisted Wonderland Services and Tourism Centre eagerly awaits your timely arrival and looks forward to welcoming you to our beautiful region in person!

If you have any further questions, please visit our Travel FAQ or contact the staff of the TWSTC directly.

Stray Kids Time Travel/Time Loop fic recs
Hello! It's been about a week since my last fic rec post so I wanted to post some more. This one is time travel/time loop themed! There's a surprising amount which is great bc it's one of my favorite tropes. Mostly Minsung with one Hyunlix!
If you know any that are not on this list PLEASE send them to me
When the Morning Comes by bitsori (Minsung | 1/1 | 32,047 | explicit)
“You're new,” Jisung proclaims. Minho snorts. “Am I?” “Well, I've never seen you here before.” “Because you know all of their wedding guests?” Jisung has to laugh. “I know most of Hyunjin’s side,” he says. “Well obviously I’m a friend of Seungmin’s.” Jisung pauses to stare, eyes narrowing with curiosity. “Yeah,” he plays along. “But you’re new.” Minho chuckles. “You keep saying that. What does that mean?” “I mean that you’re new. Here. Today. New. I’ve experienced this wedding over thirty times now and—” his breath hitches because he really just said that out loud, but there’s an immediate flicker in Minho’s eyes that has him exhaling with relief. “Oh. Well.” alternatively: In which Jisung gets stuck repeating the day when his best friend gets married, only to meet a brand new friendly face a month into the grueling experience.
Ugh what a good fic. I'm sure you've all read this before but if not, you're welcome
After the Rain by bitsori (Minsung | 7/7 | 34,238 | Teen and up)
Jisung blinks, slowly taking in his surroundings. This isn't right, he thinks, rubbing his eyes open, forcing his vision into clearer focus. The ceiling is missing the collection of glow-in-the-dark stars he had stuck on there when he first moved in, not to mention the wallpaper color is all wrong. This isn't his room—heck, he realises as he rolls around the mattress, it doesn't even feel like his bed. The realisation sinks in and he shoots up to a sitting position. “What the fuck?” he mumbles, rubbing his eyes more furiously and looking around, almost expecting his surroundings to morph into something more familiar. They don't. In which: Jisung and Minho find themselves randomly switching lives, one day at a time, with no logical rhyme or reason that explains why.
Inspired by Your Name so you can imagine how it goes. Another fantastic story by bitsori (they have so many)
Sugar is Sweet by velooscuro (Hyunlix | 11/11 | 60,049 | explicit)
Minho needs guinea pigs before he can launch his time tourism company. Jisung is whipped enough to volunteer himself and Hyunjin for the job. Felix is very confused as to how two strange men can just appear in his broom cupboard out of the blue. Time Travel!AU wherein Jisung fucks everything up, Minho fixes everything, and Hyunjin and Felix are victims of it all.
This one is more traditional time travel and very cute the whole way through.
don't put off till tomorrow by Erbi (Minsung | 3/3 | 65,665 | Explicit)
“Hannie,” Minho exhales. “What did you see?” And Jisung can’t deny it anymore, not with Minho looking at him so openly, so sincerely waiting for his answer. Communicating to him that he’s not going to judge him, that he’s just going to accept whatever it is Jisung says. With a single fragile breath, everything he’s been keeping only to himself, the truth that’s been terrorising him, floats in the space between them. “I saw you die. Three times.” or: Jisung's night of venting at a bar quickly spirals when he meets a beautiful stranger with orange hair who doesn't pull any punches. Unbeknownst to him, the spiral goes much further than he might have anticipated. And he may not be the only one affected.
I'm pretty sure I recommended this in the last post but it's so good I'm putting it again. Genuinely one of the best pieces of literature that I've ever read
after the moment (with you) by alicexbunnyx (Minsung | 1/1 | 8,674 | Explicit)
“Jisung. I’m going to sound crazy, but time is frozen. I thought it was just me here.” Minho knows his name. He wasn’t sure if that was the case. With all the watching from afar Jisung does, he thinks that surely that’s the only thing his gorgeous neighbor knows about him. “You’re not crazy,” Jisung says matter-of-factly, “I’m going to sound crazier and say it’s my fault.”
This is time travel adjacent but I had to include it on this list because this story is adorable. Chef Minho is one of my fav things everrr! Also I think this is the shortest fic I've recced so far so sorry if you like one shots lol
It's Raining Somewhere Else by FutureLikeJicasso (Minsung | 1/1 | 8,010 | Teen and Up)
Nothing ever happens in Jisung’s town. Ever. So when the wide-eyed stranger Jisung fishes out of the pond in the local park claims to be a time traveller, well, could anyone really blame him for wanting to believe in something? What someone like Minho wants in a town like this - with a person like Jisung - he can’t really be sure, but he’ll take what he can get while it lasts. After all, even if Minho -was- a time traveller, why would he come back? ...unless he could sense that Jisung would maybe, slightly, kind of desperately like to see him again?
Another short and sweet one :)
kaleidoscope mind by vmnsie (Minsung | 1/1 | 30,421 | Teen and Up)
“You said you’ve been stuck for months. How many?” Minho eyed the ceiling, counting with his fingers before replying, “Last time I checked, it was the sixth month. So, I think it’s been… eight months now? I’ve kept track of it until…” He looked at Jisung, who was still waiting for the rest of the sentence without reading between the lines. Minho sighed, “Until I met you.” Or, Minho is stuck in a time loop and finds comfort in knowing Jisung is always willing to help him—even if he ends up forgetting about him every day.
This one is probably the angstiest on this list but I still luv it
one day to fall in love (countless ones to love you) by whatifidbeenthatauthor (Minsung | 1/1 | 22,018 | Mature)
Minho stopped in his tracks. He turned to face Han Jisung. He looked unbothered, still going on about his way. “You didn’t say Hi,” Minho said, forcing the voice to come out of his throat. “You always say hi, hyung.” Jisung turned to look at him, a smile playing on his lips. He looked amused. Minho’s mind wasn’t keeping up. “Today’s different, I guess,” Jisung shrugged. “I went with a variation.” Minho would have found him insufferable, but he didn’t have the mental capacity to process the frustrating sensation that usually accompanied Jisung’s presence. Minho blurted out something that might have him sent to a madhouse. “No. I’ve lived today six times. You- you always say hi, hyung.” He felt crazy. More than usual. Jisung laughed. “What the fuck,” he said, and Minho knew he sounded insane, but could this kid please not be so arrogant? “Me, too. I thought I was the only one,” he continued, and he changed Minho’s life. *** Minho's life is boring, predictable, borderline uneventful. Until he gets stuck in a time loop. And, with him, his friends' friend, Han Jisung, a crazy dude who's only into skating. And whom Minho doesn't necessarily like.
Another time loop one (have I told you I like time loops? lmao) and somehow they're all fantastic
Anyways that's all the time/time travel related fics I have! Like I said if you have one that you like that is not on here PLEASE send it to me I'm begging on my hands and knees.
My plans for the next rec lists are fantasy au, college au, demons, and fake dating trope

Black/white interracial lesbian couple on alien road trip
nathaliebjoern asked:
What concerns would A have going on a roadtrip in USA in an alien/sci-fi tourist stops type way (circa 2013)? A is Black, grew up and lives in Denmark, parents are from African-country-yet-to-be-determined (possibly Ethiopia, but I do take suggestions here), going to USA with (white) girlfriend. Example: they're worried about being two young girls on a road trip (exacerbated by being wlw) so they are taking self defence before leaving (bonus: gets convenient/relevant later when they have to fight sudden, real aliens). Is there some specific concern A would have (bonus if relevant for alien hunting or car chasing adventures)? What precautions would she take or concerns might she have? Any concerns she might discuss with gf, even if there are no precautions to take? Or just ruminate over in internal monologue, i guess, but i want them to have a healthy relationship with lots of communication lol. She's the planning, overprepared type! I want the focus to be on their Alien fighting road trip adventure and coming of age lesbianism in the background, but i want to still acknowledge any issues A might have.
"I want the focus to be on their Alien fighting road trip adventure and coming of age lesbianism in the background, but i want to still acknowledge any issues A might have."
How far the world has progressed in terms of discrimination in your alien sci-fi world is up to you. Based on your description, racism and homophobia still exists. Perhaps it just isn't as much of a problem in this setting or story. Or encounters would depend on the town so your characters avoid and don't happen upon areas that may be a problem for the couple. Either way, it is not erasure to have a story where discrimination isn't something the characters encounter. I find this to be especially true for science fiction and fantasy.
As a Black woman who likes to travel, and in an interracial relationship, I take certain precautions before I travel. One way I do this is to research the travel experiences shared from Black women and mixed couples who've been to the places that I'm considering. I also look into news stories and reports about any incidents in the area.
This could also apply if you're LGBTQIA, in an interracial relationship and so on. As your character is a planning, super prepared type, it'd make sense if they mapped out their stops to make sure they were interracial couple / Black / LGBTQIA+ friendly and avoided any places that were not.
Also, what "friendly" or safe looks like may vary. Not all travel experiences are blatant in their discrimination or othering behavior.
What general attitudes might range from: ideas
The travelers blend in. There's enough diversity and tourism where you don't get an unwelcome attitude from the townspeople.
Some stares, second-glances and curiousity, but little to no blatant hostility.
Strong "celebrity-status" othering, to the point of being touched, pictures snapped of you, asked to poise for photos if asked at all, given free gifts, etc. (Note: this can be quite uncomfortable)
Stares and standoffish behavior from locals, but no incidents of violence.
Bold-faced hostility, such as intimidating glares, recording, taunts, yelling, and possible physical encounters like spitting.
Explicit threats, violence, being warned to leave, high risks of bodily harm.
Note that this doesn't mean everyone in a place would all act this way. I've traveled where there were stares of curiosity in one city or standoffish behavior in others, but it didn't extent to everyone in those places, staff, and so on. It also didn't sum up every single encounter. I've even heard tales of the very hostile places where a person warns the traveler that they should leave to avoid trouble from others in the town, usually out of kind warning. One can travel anywhere, really, and come across hostile people, and in that same town experience kindness.
Applying these travel experiences your story
The characters just mentioning that they've done their research and will avoid these kinds of places with known negative experiences should be enough. You don't need an actual experience of discrimination to play out, if you'd rather avoid that.
If you did want to include something without including an active experience, you could bring up the matter by mentioning the history of a place. For example, they learn some info and tell their partner that "Blank, Tennessee was once a sundown town and would've been unsafe for us ninety years ago." Or they mention some historical event that happened at a certain place, possibly even visiting a historic monument or museum.
I hope this helps; your story sounds fun!
