https://lnkd.in/emtcXGxA A CONSTITUTIONAL GRENADE AND AN ACT OF VANDALISM The gender bill row and removal of EU laws shows that Rishi Sunak is either an idiot or a coward. No principled intelligent prime minister would behave in this way.

Who is Rishi Sunak? Not so long ago, he seemed like a return to normal Tory government – superficial perhaps, but broadly reasonable. He established an amicable relationship with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and the EU, dropping the hectoring animosity of previous administrations and replacing it with something much more respectful.

But underneath it all, things are different. There’s something snarling and vicious and utterly amoral about him. There’s a continuation of the exact same culture war infantilism we witnessed during Brexit. This week, we’ve seen evidence for it in two separate issues: the senseless constitutional war triggered with Scotland and the deranged lunacy of the Retained EU Law Bill. Read more
