2, 3 and 7?
2. Do you have any easter eggs in your fic?
Oh my god, definitely the bit where Daniel eats a woman in a Halloween costume from Despicable Me. Get it? because she's a minion? ahaha?
There's also tons from the original Devils Minion chapter of QOTD. I've also flipped through The Vampire Armand but gave up because Anne Rice's writing melts my brain lmao.
I'll just point out this bit of chap 4 of LLTR. I basically scrapbooked this entire exchange out of fragments from the original Devil's Minion short story.
(Anne Rice's QOTD)
“You are my teacher,” Armand told him. “You will tell me everything about this century. I am learning secrets already that have eluded me since the beginning. You’ll sleep when the sun rises, if you wish, but the nights are mine.” (p.143 in my ebook)
...vs (LLTR fic Chap 4)
“I’ll show you what your limits are. You can survive much more now, but no vampire is invulnerable. I’ll show you all the gifts that vampires are capable of. My memory is faded, but it’s not gone. I’ll tell you all the secrets I know. There are some buried so deep that even Lestat does not know them. I’ll teach you the lore. We’ll go to the Villa of Mysteries and I will fling the doors open wide for you. I will show you how beautiful and powerful you can become. My fledgling. My beloved Daniel.” “Yes,” Daniel breathes. “You’ll sleep when the sun rises because you must, but the in-between hours we'll spend on your education. The night is yours, but your dawns and dusks will be mine.” Armand stops. He looks a little shy. “As mine will be yours, if you’ll have me.” It’s a grand speech for a man snuggled under a cotton-poly IKEA duvet.
So to break it down:
In QOTD, Daniel visits Pompeii and the Villa of Mysteries and the vampire Armand shows up to lead him in. That's also where canon Daniel and Armand become lovers for the first time.
In QOTD, Armand tells Daniel he's Armand's teacher for the 20th century. In LLTR, the human Armand offers to be Daniel's teacher for vampire lore.
In LLTR, Armand's speech is a remix of what the vampire Armand says to Daniel because I wanted the human fic version of Armand to have a different kind of relationship with Daniel. He's a little shy, a little desperately in love. Daniel doesn't belong to him...they belong to each other...
3. What's something you've researched for your fic?
The daily life of a 16th century painter's apprentice in Venice...oh god...I think Amadeo is such a fun person to write
I also did some research for (lol) the drive between Billy Bishop airport and Niagara Falls and some more Ontario geography, but I also just went "fuck it" and ignored some stuff for fic reasons.
Full admission: I'm pretty sure Daniel will NOT have stopped at an intersection driving out of the airport because you pretty much turn right onto the highway ramp for Queen Elizabeth Way. However the image of Daniel rolling down his window to show his vampire fangs at another driver was too funny for me to take out. Let's pretend there's construction going on in Toronto. Not a stretch of the imagination.
7. What character do you enjoy writing most? Why?
LLTR is essentially a two-man theatre play. Since I really only have 2 characters can I say both of them? Armand because he's so mercurial: in any given moment he can do anything, say anything. I don't even know what he's going to do most of the time until I've written in.
Daniel because he's a tremendously flexible voice to inhabit. I love the show and the writers for giving us this older Daniel <3. Often I'm running against the limits of a character's voice--like, would he really say that? would he really know that? But AMC show Daniel's incredible. He's highbrow, he's lowbrow, he can identify a Rembrandt on sight, he knows what 8chan is and only pretends not to know Gen Z slang. In the fic it's like, he knows politics and history and TS Eliot poems and Madonna lyrics and what's Hindi-Urdu and his conversations with Armand can effortlessly jump between a lot of levels. Writing Daniel is like driving a zippy sport car, if that's not too weird a thing to say.

what i ate in toronto last week
felt like food blogging hehe
Day One
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first thing I got was a tea and donut bites from a new donut stand in the Portland airport. Yum! Then I remembered I had a long day of traveling ahead of me and went back to the Tillamook store for some real sustenance. Honestly I thought a chive biscuit egg sausage cheese sandwich would be a slam dunk but it wasn't that good.
Donuts: 8/10 (had them over the course of 3 days)
Sandwich: 5/10
Tumblr media
Even on long flights, Air Canada only offers paid options. I got this BBQ chicken wrap for $11 CAD or something. Tortilla to filling ratio was bad but it did the job. 4.5/10
I got into the hotel late at night and just decided it wasn't worth the effort to get more food, so thats all for day one lol
Day 2
Tumblr media
Met with Suyasha and had Cafe Landwer! Was starving and it took forever for the food to come out. This is the Mediterranean shakshuka. Bread was so fluffy. The presentation is gorg but i wasn't obsessed with the tomato-y sauce I guess. 7/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the afternoon I got a matcha at the library cafe where we worked (it was average, so I guess 7/10 because me love matcha). Later, I went to Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes for pre-dinner dessert. I'm glad I went when I did, because they cook everything fresh, and the wait was long even when I was the only customer. So fresh, fluffy, and refreshing - not too sweet. Yum! 9/10
Tumblr media
After that, some folks told me they were getting dinner, so I said I'd join assuming I'd get an appetizer. Well, they decided on all you can eat hotpot, so that was unfortunate lol. We had a good time, food was good but not really noteworthy. I tried a mussel, gross! Also ate a pepper wrapped in beef that had been soaking in the spicy side for too long. That shit HURTED. 5/10
Day 3
Tumblr media
I needed something fast to keep me going before the wedding - sadly the only thing I could walk to in time was McDonalds. The tzatziki seasoning was bad and basically ruined my fries. Chicken wrap was just whatever. 3/10
Unpictured: Shirley's wedding food! I forgot to take a pic sadly. I had chicken, kimchi mac and cheese, and other things I don't exactly remember, but it was all yummy! Plus the signature cocktails were really great. 8/10
Day 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Niagara falls tour with Alyssa, Hwee, Jen, and Alex(?)! we shared between 4 people. It was steaming hot and yummy. I love cheese curdsss. 7.5/10
While the group went to go on the boat, I got a prosciutto goat cheese salad and a cocktail at the Queen Alexandra. Cocktail was a bit watery and salad was 90% arugula with not enough dressing - but the point was I could see the falls from my seat and they had ceiling fans (IT WAS SO HOT) 6.5/10
Tumblr media
When we got back from the tour finally (took 3 hours to get back in traffic), we got Mr. Tonkatsu! The katsu was really flaky and good. 8/10
Tumblr media
We also went and got asian shaved ice after this - one with red bean paste and one with almond and soybean. i wasnt really into these so i only had a few bites.. i miss hawaiian shaved ice fr. oh yeah i got some baked walnut balls here too, they were ok, would be better if they were warm. 3.5/10
Day 5
Tumblr media
gochujang mushroom tofu banh mi at rustle & still cafe.. OH MY GOD. spicy, creamy, a lil crunch from the pickled carrots and peanuts. i might try to replicate it, it was everything. 10/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
chicken biryani from rikki tikki, with Alyssa, Shendy, and Matt. another HUGE W meal... spicy, scrumptious, perfect. the rice had pomegranate seeds in it which was such a nice little sweet crunch. it came with yogurt sauce which i adored with the spicy meal. im drooling thinking about it. 10/10 my only complaint is that i like more pillow-y naan
Day 6
Lunch was leftover Rikki Tikki!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Forgot to take a pic before it was gone, but I had a chai latte at the cafe we worked at today. It was meh, 4/10. at least the cafe had ok wifi and good a/c lol
After work, I started wandering around and went to a matcha cafe called Tsujiri. All the stuff on the menu looked amazing but I got a peach yogurt matcha frappe. It was so freaking good and those big slices of peach on top were yummy too. 9/10
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While walkin' I had to stop at this Vietnamese cafe because the cake looked so yum. And it was! Fresh mango with layers of shortcake, mango pudding, and cream. i just wish it was a little smaller so I hadn't felt so bloated from eating it lol (it had to stay cold and it was a hot day so... I had to just eat it) 8.5/10
For dinner we went to a Jamaican/Chinese fusion place called Patois with Shirley, Jeremiah, Alyssa, guy who I forgot name, and his old WoW guild leader or something haha. We got a "feast for two" to share with the table, plus pork belly yakitori, becuase some of us weren't hungry. I didn't eat much but my fave was the yakitori. The rest was just ok. 5.5/10
Day 7
Tumblr media
For my last day Suyasha and I went to Tibetan Cafe and went shopping afterwards. The reviews for this place were so high, but we were both underwhelmed by these "momos" (chicken dumplings). The dipping sauce was tomato-y but overall it was a bit bland. Suyasha is Nepalese and she said this was low-end by her standard lol. I'll try Tibetan food another time. 6/10
This was the first canned diet coke I had all week and man, how sweet it tastes - new jeans
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the airport I shared a snack of poutine and a maple moscow mule with Shirley :3 This poutine wasn't as good as the one I had before. Moscow mule was nice, the maple flavor was mild. 5.5/10
Tumblr media
And yes, to give me the energy to travel until 3am EST, I got another BBQ chicken wrap on the plane. So nice I had it twice. Jk, it was not that nice, but actually this time it had a better filling to tortilla ratio lol. 5/10

maggie! my sister and I are planning a road trip to canada this summer so as a canadian, anything you recommend doing, any absolute must sees?
!!! Oooh, have fun!
I can only really give concrete recommendations for Quebec and southern Ontario, and the later with less than a year of experience - so if you're headed to the prairies or BC I'm not much help.
For Québec:
If you stick to Montreal and the touristy areas, you lively won't need all that much French! Usually people clock that you're a tourist and will switch to English if they can. Less likely the farther you get from Montreal and the Townships.
Goes without saying, try a good poutine (There’s an invisible S in there, we pronounce it more like.. poutsine lmao)! Don't get it from a big chain except maybe Belle Province or Poutineville, the very best I've had have usually been from lil cantines. If they’re not using fresh cheese curds don't trust em.
Also Beaver Tails (a fried pastry brand). Usually have lil kiosks near events and sinfully good. My brother and I go bonkers for them.
In Montreal proper, I'd recommend a walk on Mt.Royal! I forget if the inside skating rink at Atwater is still available this time of year, but might be worth looking into. Vieux Montréal is a nice place to romp around, especially around the canals and the Atwater market. Avoid driving in and around MTL it's a living hell, move around by bus or metro(subway) if you can, you can get day passes easy enough. St.Catherine and Mt.Royal streets usually have fun stores and restaurants to poke around in, and the gay village is great! I'm pretty sure most amusement parks in the USA are bigger than La Ronde, so don't waste your time with it.
Zoo de Granby is one I went to a lot as a child and they do great conservation work and have beautiful exhibits + a fun water park! Bromont is great for winter fun, but wrong time of year, and their water park can be hit or miss.
Both Bromont and Sutton are great for hiking (I have good memories of getting up to a lake on Mt.Sutton just as the mist revealed it, so cool). Apparently so is Owl's Head, but I've only skii'd there. Bromont is expensive and the cops are real sticklers, Sutton is a lot smaller and personally I think more cute and chill.
Lac Brome/Lake Brome is just about the most anglophone place in the province outside of Montreal! You can do a lot of kayaking, boating and even just driving around the lake is nice. It is a tourist town with its businesses catered towards Montrealers weekending there, so everything is closed Mon/Tues but open over weekends. Just a very cute and anglophone town.
Memphremagog / Magog is both an okay town and a really great lake, bigger than Lac Brome if you'd rather get on the water there. Also fun local myths of a lake monster >:3c
If you like murder mysteries, Louise Penny based many locations in her series off of areas in the Townships - such as Brome Lake Books('s old location) and Abbey St.Benoit (which has great cheese). There are maps to help her fans run around and see the locations irl!
Due to the dairy industry there's a lot of great cheese and icecream in general. Coaticook has great icecream and a cool gorge (my ex lived there), but it’s very French so you might have trouble.
A personal highlight: drive up the St.Lawrence. it's gorgeous, sometimes there are whales, and just. Amazingly beautiful. Fuckoff cold water tho.
There are a ton if beautiful national parks in Quebec; Bic is a highlight personally.
For southern Ontario:
Niagara Falls is a mixed bag: the falls themselves are incredible, absolutely awe inspiring (I remember getting to my hotel room after and writing in a frenzy - the MIST from them hits you SEVERAL HUNDRED METERS AWAY). BUT the area around them are a tourist trap, overpriced and iffy.
I haven't run around Toronto much beyond getting lost going to n from the airport, but I've heard decent enough things?
Iirc there might be more Freedom Convoy bullshit going on in Ottawa, so keep an eye on the news if it's on your bucket list.
Also have heard p good things about the national parks, almost went camping with the other grads before schedule conflicts popped up.
Haven't done much due to gradschool unfortunately :c
I also know that Alberta has an incredible dinosaur museum with some amazing specimens, and Dinosaur Provincial Park is teaming with big fossils (almost went on a dig there but Covid happened).
Hope some of this helped!

So, fasten your seatbelts, grab your toque, and join us on this virtual road trip through the Great White North. Whether you're planning your next adventure or simply yearning for inspiration, our blog will be your trusted companion, revealing the beauty, culture, and endless wonders of Canada.
We went to Canada for seven days, but you’re probably wondering how we did it. The first transport we had to take was a bus from Concepción to Antofagasta. We had waited like an hour because the bus arrived one hour earlier. We went shopping in the airport of Antofagasta, once we got on the plane, we were there for 3 hours to finally arrive in Lima, we never went to Lima until this adventure, the culture is very pretty, you should go there someday, even though the flight was horrible, after 5 hours we arrived in Punta Cana, we did this lay over on purpose, the city was so beautiful and the culture is amazing, during our 2-hour delay, we spent a little of time buying some food and souvenirs, but we almost missed the plane, because our last flight which was directly to Toronto was suddenly advanced 30 minutes, thank god we were on time in the airport, so we finally arrived at 8:45 pm in Toronto! and we were so tired of traveling for almost a day, we took a bus to our hotel, and by the way we chose the most expensive room for ourselves, we wanted to have some luxurious things. All our trip was very expensive, between the two of we spent almost 3.000 dollars, but we did for you guys and the experience, remember that quality is better than quantity, this is the end of the first night, but don’t be sad we still have plenty of the things that we haven’t told you, stay tuned to our blog, see you tomorrow.

Blend Your Wine Experience With Elegance
The wine business is a highly lucrative and significant industry in Southern Ontario. There is an incredible number of vineyards to select from. There are some of the most amazing and highly regarded wineries in the Niagara region. This is an occasion to enjoy the best vintages surrounded by gorgeous vineyard scenery. Wine enthusiasts are choosing limousine services more and more often as a sophisticated form of transportation to take this experience to previously unattainable heights of luxury. You can easily book a Toronto airport limo service and reach your destination easily and in an opulent manner.
The Allure Of Wine Tour
Wine tours are beloved because they offer a special fusion of pleasure and information. These trips are enjoyed by both experts and beginners who want to comprehend more about the intricacies of winemaking from the vine to the bottle. The inviting perfume of aging barrels combined with the picturesque vineyard scenery creates an ambiance that magnetizes the senses.
The Rise Of Limousine Service
A new trend that has evolved in recent years is the integration of limousine services, which has turned the conventional wine tour into an extravagant adventure. The wine-tasting pleasure is elevated by limousines, which include sumptuous interiors and elegant chauffeur-driven driving.
Comfort and Convenience
The unmatched convenience provided by limousine services is one of the main causes of their recent rise in popularity for wine tours. Visitors may now completely immerse themselves in the sensory experience of wine tasting without having to worry about driving. A limousine's luxurious interiors offer an unparalleled degree of luxury, making the trip just as enjoyable as the destination.
Group Celebration
Whether it's a birthday, an anniversary, or a corporate event, wine excursions frequently provide the perfect setting for festivities. Group dynamics are easily accommodated by limousines, so everyone may enjoy the celebrations without worrying about how they're going to get around. Limousine rides are a great way for people to celebrate together and make memories that will last a lifetime for everyone who takes part.
An Exquisite Taste
Limousine services frequently include culinary experiences in their packages, in addition to wine. Some travels allow guests to match their preferred wines with mouthwatering culinary delights by stopping at well-known restaurants or providing onboard catering services. The journey as a whole becomes a gastronomic odyssey thanks to this union of outstanding wine and cuisine.
Conscientious Tasting
It is important to be responsible when enjoying wine's joys. Because limousine services do not require a designated driver, they promote responsible tasting. It is safe and fun for anyone to partake in the complete range of wines without worrying about driving while intoxicated.
Comfort & Elegance Throughout Travel
Limo wine excursions are the ultimate in convenience and elegance. A limousine's spacious and luxurious interior ensures a comfortable trip, allowing you to relax and take in the scenery. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding countryside as you make your way from one winery to the next. Temperature control allows you to maintain an inviting environment in your vehicle regardless of the outside weather.
Skilled Drivers & Local Perspectives
Most of the time, limo wine excursions are led by knowledgeable drivers who have firsthand knowledge of the surrounding wineries and the area. They can provide you with fascinating information on the history of the region and the wineries. Their expertise gives your wine tour an additional level of intrigue and information.
An Improved Experience For Wine Tasting
The complete wine-tasting experience is enhanced with a limo wine tour. As you travel between wineries, you can decompress and enjoy conversations about the wines you've sampled. Additionally, a lot of vehicle wine excursions come equipped with added conveniences like bar sections or wine coolers where you may keep and sip any bottles you purchase along the way.
Customized Wine Tours
Château des Charms: This charming winery is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake and is set on 40 hectares of immaculate vineyards. Utilizing sustainable farming methods, this winery was established in 1978 and has been making wine ever since. Visit this magnificent winery and savor some VQA Ontario wine.
Dark Horse Estate Winery: This winery is situated in Huron County, the newest wine region in Ontario. If you want to visit this region of the province, this is a terrific alternative even if it isn't included in your Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tour itinerary. a few hours' drive from Toronto, which offers lodging options, hotels, and more.
