The Rotaract Club of Rohini College of Engineering and Technology, together with the Rotaract Club of Nagercoil Town, celebrated the International day of Yoga on 21st June 2018 in the college premises. The chief objective of conducting the programme was to promote the benefits of Yoga among the students and faculty members of our College.

 The art of practicing Yoga helps in controlling an individual's mind, body and soul. It brings together physical and mental discipline to attain a peaceful body and mind; it helps  manage stress  and anxiety and enhances athletic performance. It also helps in increasing flexibility, muscle strength and body tone. It improves respiration, energy and vitality. The programme began with Tamil Thaivazhthu. To mark the occasion, the traditional lamp was lit by the dignitaries. The founder and Chairman Shri. K. Neela Marthandan, Vice-Chairman Dr. N. Neela Judith, Managing Director Dr. N. Neela Vishnu, Principal Dr. R Rajesh, Chief guests Mr. Mohammed Ismail, Mrs. Naseem Ismail and Rtn. Chithambaram Pillai graced the occasion. Dr. Senthilvel Murugan, Convenor of the program welcomed the gathering. Our Principal addressed the gathering and pointed out the importance of Yoga in our day today lives. Mrs. Naseem Ismail gave a special address and demonstrated Yoga Asana for the participants. She made all of them feel one with them through a short meditation. And she requested everyone to practice the Asanas every morning and make the day a refreshing one. Mr. Ganesan, the Physical Director of Rohini College proposed the vote of thanks. The inhouse Mini Project Expo 2020 organized by Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering of RCET with an aim of providing a platform for students to exhibit their talents. This would encourage student’s curiosity and creativity.

The function was inaugurated by Honorable chairman Shri.K.Neela MArthandan and it was presided over by Managing Director Dr.Neela Vishnu, Chief Financial Officer Dr. R. Rajesh, Principal of RCET ,Heads of Department, Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculty.

Apart from their curriculum, to gain practical knowledge about the Electrical Sciences this expo was conducted. Projects like Home Automation by Speech, Smart Road System, UltraSonic Blind Walking Stick,Heartbeat Sensor,EH tracker,Li-Fi, etc.,

The projects of the students were judged and evaluated by the respected faculty expertise of the department on the basis of performance, quality, social responsibility, innovative idea and implementation strategy of the project. With much enthusiasm, students explained their work with the help of a presentation and then demonstrated the project, which took the judges to the world of Electrical Science. Good interactions between the judges and team members made students to know about different emerging technologies in various fields.

The best three projects were awarded on the day of Symposium RONIX 2K20.This act as a great motivation for the upcoming engineering graduates.

The function has been a result of good hard work done by the finishing school students who showed good enthusiasm to display their projects. The function generated a high degree of excitement and participation in the faculty and students of the college with the aim of providing a platform for students to exhibit their talents. Rohini College - INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on Career Research and Oppurtunities organised by Dept. of Civil Engineering

Dept of Civil Engineering, RCET organized a 2-day International Conference on Career Research and Oppurtunituies .The conference organized in the premises of RCET, witnessed participation of 4 keynote speakers and 30 technical presentations spread over 9 technical sessions. The aspirants assembled from various engineering colleges with a very high competitive spirit to participant and with the strong determination to include their achievements & accomplishments to their resumes.

A souvenir and book of abstract was published on this occasion. The souvenir gave brief introduction of the Department of Civil Engineering.

During Key Note Address,

Dr.Juraev S.Sirojiddin said that to change the process of development, the students should inculcate the habit of challenging every process and stressed on collaboration for growth.

Prof.Arindam elucidated on opportunities and challenges available in the field of Civil Engineering and how to convert the learning’s into industry’s expectation

Dr.S.U.Kannan stressed on the use of locally available materials in construction.
