okay a few ppl expressed interest in the tetsutetsu/todoroki ship so here i am with some ideas!!

tetsutetsu constantly throwing his arm around todoroki and punching him on the shoulder and calling him bro and homie and dude and laughing too loud at his jokes and having no idea why todoroki can’t tell he’s being flirted with lmao

todoroki finally figures out that he likes tetsu and approaches him like "i think you should know. i feel a lot of affection for you." and tetsutetsu is like "NEAT BRO I LIKE YOU A LOT TOO!!!!" and then they do nothing about it because both of them think they just confessed but it's not mutual. spoiler alert it is indeed mutual

they look at each other like "he is so clueless, rip" and they're both right and both wrong

they don’t ever even officially get together, it just kinda happens because they like each other so much and in the same way. they never celebrate anniversaries because neither of them could pinpoint a day when they started dating and neither of them really feels the need to have one

tetsutetsu casually bringing up at some point that he got shot at the training camp and todoroki being so confused as to why this wasn’t a bigger deal??? even if it didn’t do any permanent physical damage that’s gotta mess with you psychologically?? and he KNOWS how trauma can get you so he just sits there very patiently like “if you want to actually talk about that, you don’t have to treat it like a joke”

they’re evenly matched but also have super different quirks so while tetsutetsu will still train with kirishima (they have a pretty similar routine anyway) he starts sparring with todoroki more

they have enough faith in each other that they don’t hold back and on the rare occasion that there’s a clear winner there are no hard feelings, just pride and excitement because WOAH my boyfriend can do WHAT????

both very quick to defend each other but todoroki does it in his calm even controlled way while tetsutetsu is like “YO BAKUGO SQUARE UP YOU CAN’T SAY THAT ABOUT MY BOY” and todoroki has to rein him in

monoma absolutely hates that his buddy tetsu is dating a kid from class 1a but he has to let todoroki hang out with them because he is hugely outvoted. nobody has a problem with todoroki dating a kid from 1b, because they have some modicum of chill

basically i love these boys and i think they should hold hands :)

Speaking of things that go on too long, I really hope they don't drag out the joint training. It's not that I don't like it but I feel like arcs like that that take place at school over a short period of time (but take up a lot of screentime proportionately) can really start to feel like they drag. Maybe it's just because I think the arcs that come after are more interesting but I really don't want the show to hit a lull with that arc like the Yakuza bunker one.

I have to confess that for me the Joint Training arc never dragged at all. but my reading experience may have been different from other people’s for several reasons:

I was warned ahead of time that this arc was not a favorite of many people, so I had lowered expectations going into it. and then I actually ended up enjoying it a lot lol. but maybe it would have been different if my expectations had been sky-high, idk.

I was fortunate to read this arc after it had already been completed, so week-to-week pacing was not an issue for me. I’ve heard that this arc had a lot of breaks similar to what happened near the end of the War arc (and probably for the same reasons, because this was around when Horikoshi was working on movie 2 stuff if I recall). so that probably didn’t help with the pacing. but it was actually really enjoyable to read straight through.

this might not have been the case with everybody, but for me the teams were split up in such a way that each group had at least one or two characters that I was really fond of, and so all of the battles were interesting to me for that reason. and as much as I love the villains and characters like Mirko and Hawks and Endeavor, for me the 1-A kids are still my favorite characters, so having an entire arc focused on just them was a nice change of pace and something we hadn’t had since the Sports Festival (well I guess the Culture Festival as well, but that ended up focusing more on Gentle, La Brava, and Deku in the end). plus I really enjoyed seeing all of the 1-B quirks at long last.

so yeah, I’m honestly looking forward to this a lot, and for me it doesn’t have any of the same elements that made the Basement arc drag, in that (a) it focuses on characters we already know and love, and doesn’t try to introduce a bunch of boring one-shot villains, (b) it’s a lot less grim, (c) the fights are a lot more varied (idk what it was about the Basement arc but so many of the fights were of the “characters standing around and punching each other” variety), and (d) it just has way more high points, at least for me. Shinsou getting to use his quirk again; the reveal that Deku had a new quirk (which I know is like one of the most controversial twists in the series lol but I loved it); Bakugou having his “save to win” moment; Momo being in charge of a team (even though they lost :/); and just every last second of the TodoTetsu battle lol. honestly I get hyped up just thinking about it. just six weeks left to go omg.

Just a continuation of the first part I made. That ones better than this one but here this is Anyways!

1. I really wanna see these four work together and fight. Like can they be more of a group in the future??? I just found it so cool how they defeated 1b in 5 minutes, and it just shows you how much they all improved.

Plus boom boom explosions (it looks rlly cool!)

2. Not only the Bakugou team, but the Todoroki team stood out as well. I loved the fight between Todotetsu and seeing Todoroki struggle is just one of my favourite things! (Don't ask why.)

I also wanna see all of Todoroki's ice melt (or "soften" I guess)

again the whole Todoroki failing and being saved by iida who's been enduring alot of pain to get faster to save more ppl (man I luv character development
