Allieeee I spent the whole day reading the update because I really wanted to savor it!!! Its so good!!!!
[SPOILER]
I think u nailed the rewrite because now the other side characters really shine and you can really get a good feel of the personalities!! I am loving addie the chaotic little gremlin <3
There are some character name placement mistakes here and there (I think I saw u put in Nat instead of Tobin during the scene at the net after the doubles match??? (Nat wrong universe, buddy!)). Also felix pronoun mistakes (my felix is in the womens team, but in some sentences was written with he/him instead). But, overall was great!!
Also, I LOVE THE SAM POV SCENE???? will you be adding more RO POVs???? Or even other character POVs??? OMG RAYYAN'S POV WOULD BE SO SPICY????
anyways, cant wait for part 2!!!!
Heya, thank you so much for this message, I'm so glad you enjoyed the update!!!
On Sam's POV scene—oops, my bad, I actually think you saw a very early/WIP version of the scene, it wasn't supposed to have leaked out just yet, but I've since cleaned it up and fleshed it out further, so it should be a much more satisfying experience now?
Anywhoo, I thought it worked well, narratively speaking, to have Sam POV scenes to set up a kind of "split screen development" situation where their lives are unfolding on separate ends of the country. Especially since Sam also has limited physical presence in many of the chapters. I'm considering POV-scenes for other characters as well, but Sam-POV scenes was something I wanted to explore first. Let me know what you guys think!
Other responses under the cut (it got long!) But thanks again for the message, sending you much love!
Yay, I'm glad you think the re-write helped, as I was editing, I knew how much time I was spending on back-end things that few people would notice, but I was sure it'd improve the experience overall, and it's good to have that validated!
I love Addie the chaotic gremlin too :D
On typing Nat instead of Tobin: oh no, I've fixed those, but I think writing two different IFs at the same time PLUS thinking about Wayhaven 3 today really messed my brain up xD
I think I've fixed the Felix pronouns, but let me know if I've missed any :)

Gonna be real. I was deffo part of the target audience for making the GA see caryl as romantic after season 10 bc I was so deep in my 'caryl are just besties platonic soulmates' era that I barely even consciously noticed the haircut scene in stradavarius BUT it did give me some of my first strongest conscious thoughts about them in that light. Looking back, I feel like Angela Kang was highkey sowing seeds to get the GA on board the second she became showrunner from the season 9 premiere, and she hooked me.
So, honestly, I lowkey thought caryl were a good ship always, but when tobin happened, I was like 'uhm w0t' and then just dropped it. I think that's quite a common experience?? Like, the showrunner wrote them for canon in seasons 2-3, and then they decided to drop it and separate them instead. And I think a lot of audience followed that with expecting them to be put together in the early seasons and then forgetting it in the mid seasons and moving on.
Then there was all this time with ezekiel that by the time I got round to starting season 9 this year, I couldn't remember if carol and ezekiel were already dating or not. Then literally the very first episode, she kisses him, so I'm like "oh okay yeah that's right they were building up carzekiel, so yeah I guess carol and daryl are just platonic soulmates then oh well." And it makes sense to me that a pro-caryl showrunner would want to first acknowledge that a lot of the audience aren't expecting caryl now, and then, effectively, bait and switch.
Then there was the "he asked me to marry him" convo and I was like 'oh how is this gonna go.. oh ok yeah daryl prioritises carol's happiness above anything else yeah that makes sense.. carol is hesitant too, yeah that feels correct for her'. I basically came away from that having noticed they're making daryl and carol discuss and react to carol's love life, and daryl seems like even if he's uncomfortable with it, his love for carol (whether romantic or not) and her happiness is his priority. Basically, I read that they're solid no matter what. They care about each other and their opinions of each other's partners is most important. I felt like it cemented them as each other's person, even if that wasn't going to be romantic, but it still put the idea in my head, however fleeting. "Glad I've got pookie's approval" was a solid call back to the early days (when it was popular to ship them) - why call back the audience's memory to that??
But at the same time as carzekiel was happening, I noticed Rosita and Gabriel happened out of nowhere, and tbh the way they were pushed together felt similar to how Carzekiel felt to me. Like, just a little bit inorganic? And Rosita had this whole thing with Siddiq even though she was with Gabriel, and also Eugene her friend being in love with her? Idk, but all of that happening did plant stuff in my head, which could have been subliminally carrying over to what I was thinking with Carol, Ezekiel, and Daryl. Idk.
The stradavarius haircut is probably when I first consciously decided to make sense of them as 'platonic soulmates'. And the reason why is bc they were feeling so intimate, but they were choosing not to be together and carol was married, so I was like 'they are clearly soulmates??? So... platonic soulmates????'. During the haircut, my actual thoughts were "it's so nice that carol's husband trusts her so much she can have sleepovers with her male best friend and he's totally chill with it." Why did I need to have that thought??? And in case you weren't already thinking about it, the son of her marriage just awkwardly pops in to remind them that he exists and that he is there and that their intimacy is feeling a little spicy. I fully wasn't shipping them at this point, and I kept expecting Henry to ask if they're really just friends. The way he asks probing awkward questions about Daryl's scar and pushes social boundaries to make comments about his impressions of Daryl. I just feel like all of that writing was trying to get you to think about it.
CUT TO Ezekiel being VISIBLY jealous of carol and daryl walking together in The Storm and then asking Daryl to back off. OKAY so maybe he wasn't quite so chill with it. Daryl is literally the friend she told you not to worry about. And hello now you're shipping them.
#caryl#one of my stream of consciousness bs posts that briefly made it out of my drafts for some reason#probably bc I didnt just stop in the middle of a sentence like I do with most of them

Greta tells stories to keep Judy awake to avoid complications from a possible concussion.
Greta rolled her eyes. “That’s what you wanna know? You folks are silly. I’m an open book. Let me tell you about the first time I ever had a girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend?! Spicy…” Judy said, grinning ear to ear. “I hope this doesn’t awaken anything within me.”
“I can tell you how it ends too, if you want me to un-awaken you,” Greta said, smiling. “It all started back when I got sent to this all-girls Catholic school for high school back when I lived in the lower 48. My mom didn’t approve of my increasing activist tendencies and she thought that this school would… soften me.”
“Greta, you were an activist?” Moon asked, shocked.
“You weren’t softened already? Beef asked, confused. “But you’re so sweet.”
Greta laughed. “Oh Beef, you don’t know the half of it,” she said, her voice trailing off as she launched into her flashback.

The PPC (Chrislex x Reader)
The PPC, or the Polyamorous Power Couple find themselves on field together for the first in a match against Sweden, but when fouls go uncalled, and tackles become a bit too hard, the duty to rein in her two spicy girlfriends falls on Christen’s shoulders.
“I mean, there’s no way we can lose, not with the PPC leading the charge.” Megan smirks and your brows furrow.
“PPC?” You ask with a snort and Megan grins.
“The Polyamorous Power Couple.”
Christen giggles, her cheeks flushing when Alex slips an arm around her.
You, meanwhile can't help but pout, wanting to be between the two women, but unfortunately there wasn’t anywhere on the bus where the three of you could sit side by side.
“Awwwwww.”
Your brows furrow when a pair of arms wrap around you from behind, a pair of arms belonging to Tobin Heath.
“Don’t pout, I’ll give you a hug.” She grins and you laugh, leaning back against her chest.
Alex’s brows arch, as do Christen’s their eyes narrowing playfully as they glare across the aisle at you and Tobin.
“Hey, she was pouting.” Tobin gives you a squeeze.
Megan leans from her seat and into the aisle, the woman’s eyes narrowed as she stares Christen and Alex’s way.
“You know the power that Y/N’s pout holds.”
You smirk, knowing full well how that pout effects both Alex and Christen, the two immediately caving at the sight of it.
Christen glances at Alex.
“Oh, trust me.” Alex snorts and Christen giggles, the two speaking at roughly the same time.
“We know.”
***
You exhale loudly, bouncing on the heels of your feet as you stare out of the tunnel and at the field, a field you would be on soon, a field you would be starting on against Sweden.
Your eyes widen when a pair of arms slip around you from behind, the owner resting their chin our shoulder.
“Are you nervous?” Christen whispers in your ear and you sigh, leaning back heavily against her chest.
“A little, you remember what happened last time against Sweden...” You mumble as your eyes flutter shut, the last game against Sweden weighting heavily on your mind.
Christen frowns, remembering all too well what happened during the last bout against Sweden, the way you crumbled to the ground, clasping your injured leg after a reckless tackle.
A growl makes your eyes flash open, a smile stretching across your face when you see Alex standing in front of you, her arms crossed across her face and eyes narrowed in a glare as she eyes the players donned in yellow.
“Oh, it better not happen again.” She growls, a number of the Swedish players taking a step back when they see the look in her smoldering blue orbs.
You shake your head, grabbing her arm and pulling her to you, your arms slipping around her as you kiss her cheek.
“Save that spice for the field.” You whisper, grinning when Alex kisses the tip of your nose.
“Oh, I have enough to go around.”
Christen giggles, her hot breath tickling your ear, the woman pressing a kiss to your cheek before she moves to her place in line.
You take a deep breath, your eyes drifting to Christen’s back, before drifting to the large number thirteen adorning Alex’s jersey.
You nod curtly to yourself, smiling when both Christen and Alex glance your way, Alex sending you a wink whereas Christen simply grins, a smile you can’t help but return.
Kelley gives you a pat on the back from her place in line behind you, the defender smiling when you turn her way.
“Ready?” She asks and you nod.
“Ready.”
The line begins to move and you take a deep breath, your fear completely dissipating as you make your way out of the tunnel and onto the field.
***
The snarl that left you was inhuman as you made your way towards Alex, pulling her up off the ground for what was the fifth time in just the first half.
Sweden had been particularly hard on the forward, who’d basically gone down anytime she’d been in possession of the ball.
Alex moves to her feet with a grimace, her cheeks flushed and face contorted in anger, anger she directs at the ref who hadn’t been calling any of the fouls committed against her.
Sweden had committed a NUMBER of fouls, against not only Alex but you as well, though none had been called.
You wipe a blade of grass from Alex’s shoulder a scowl on your face as you glare at the player who’d fouled her.
You shake your head as you make your way across field, your shoulder knocking with hers, roughly.
A whistle makes you stop dead in your tracks, the incompetent referee marching towards you, her hand in her back pocket.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” You growl under your breath as she stops in front of you, a yellow card held high above her head.
“You’ve got to be fu-
The sound of a whistle blowing makes you fall silent, the first half coming to an end in a rather irritating fashion.
A hand gently takes your own and you growl in anger, though when you realize the hand belongs to Christen you fall silent.
She practically drags you towards Alex, the forward grabbing an equally angry Alex’s hand, earning a similar reaction as she’d gotten from you, an irksome growl, though when blue orbs lock with green she too falls silent.
“Come on.” Christen whispers as she squeezes your hand, as well as Alex’s.
Despite your anger, you squeeze back, as does Alex.
***
Christen’s eyes dart from you, to Alex, to you, to Alex, her head on a swivel as she does her best to calm her girlfriends down, the two of you scowling angrily.
Fingers slip gently between your own and you sigh, the feel of Christen’s hand in yours bringing you a sense of calm, a similar thing happening to the woman on the other side of Christen.
She gives both your hands a squeeze and you sigh in unison, the two of you leaning against Christen who’s all too happy being between the two of you.
Momentarily your hand leaves Christen’s, only to slip around her moments later, your fingertips caressing Alex’s arm.
“Are you okay?” You whisper lowly as to not be heard.
Alex smiles, taking your hand and giving it a squeeze before she kisses the back of it.
“I’m okay, are you?” She asks and you nod, your cheek resting against Christen’s back.
“I am.”
Alex sighs as she leans against Christen’s back, the tip of her nose brushing yours.
Christen smiles at the feel of the two of you resting against her back, the woman wanting nothing more than to stay like this, but they had a game to play, a game that was currently nil, nil.
Reluctantly, you leave your resting place when Vlatko enters the locker room.
Christen grins when you press a kiss to her cheek, her cheeks flushing further when Alex does the same to her other cheek.
“What would we do without you?” You smile and Megan snorts from her place across the locker room.
“Probably get detained by the police.”
You lean around Christen, grinning when your eyes catch Alex’s, a grin stretching across her face.
“Well, we still have a second half to get though, don’t we?” Julie snorts and Christen shakes her head, her green orbs wide as she looks from you, to Alex and back.
“Please don’t get arrested.”
Alex shrugs.
“No promises.”
Christen turns towards you and you grin innocently.
“Same.”
She shakes her head, nonetheless taking your and Alex’s hands.
“What am I going to do with you two?”
***
Unfortunately for Christen moments after the start of the next half you’re on your back staring up at the cloudy sky above you.
You roll over onto your front before moving to stand, angrily brushing the bits of grass from your uniform.
Christen jogs towards you, her hand resting on your back.
“Are you alright?” She whispers in your ear and you nod.
“I'm fine.” You growl, sending the Swedish player who’d taken you down a glare, a glare only rivaled by the one Alex is currently sending her.
It seemed as if Sweden had turned their attention from Alex and onto you, seeing as a few minutes later you were back on the ground again.
You snarl as you jump to your feet, trying to decide whether to go for the ref, or whatever Swedish player was closest, but before you can Christen moves to stand in front of you.
“Don’t she isn’t worth it.”
“THAT WAS OBVIOUSLY A FOUL! COME ON! THIS IS FUC-”
At the sound of Alex’s voice, Christen jogs away, grabbing Alex’s arm and dragging her away from the ref, the forward grumbling angrily under her breath as she’s pulled away.
You want more than anything to advance on the ref yourself, but an arm slipping around you makes you still, an arm belonging to Kristie Mewis.
“Thought I’d help Christen reign in her spicy girlfriends.”
Your bottom lip juts out in a pout.
“Why’d you pick me?” You ask and the blonde snorts.
“You’re shorter than Alex.”
You huff, sending her a harmless glare.
“Not that much shorter.” You mumble and Kristie snorts.
“Are you sure about that?”
You growl, your nose crinkled.
“Bite me Mewis.”
She holds her hands up in surrender.
“That’s Christen territory, not mine.”
Christen, who’d just jogged over, brows arch.
“What’s my job?” She asks, confused her brows furrowing in confusion at the deep red flush on your cheeks.
Kristie shrugs.
“Ohh, nothing.”
***
Unfortunately for Christen yet again, Alex is taken down in the box in the last few moments of the game, a foul that is, YET AGAIN, not called.
That is seemingly the last straw for you, as you march across field towards the referee, the woman entirely unaware that you’re quickly advancing on her.
The whistle blows loudly, signaling the end of the game, giving Christen free reign to chase after you, the woman literally throwing you over her shoulder before jogging to Alex who is also stomping towards the ref.
“Chris-
“No.”
The remainder of the USWNT watch as Christen carries you, and drags Alex off the field, the two of you snarling and spitting angrily at the ref and any Swedish player nearby.
“Chris! Let me go!” You whine with a pout and Christen shakes her head.
“No.”
“Then let ME go!” Alex growls, trying to wrench her arm free, though halfheartedly as to not hurt Christen.
The woman simply shakes her head.
“No, and if you don’t stop, you’re both sleeping alone tonight.”
You lean around Christen, your eyes catching Alex’s blue orbs, the woman’s pout just as jutted out as your own.
Alex pulls her arm free, instead of running away though, she crosses her arms across her chest.
You follow suit, crossing your arms across your chest, though Christen doesn’t put you down, instead opting to carry you to the locker room.
“You can put me down you know.” You huff when she passes into the locker room and she scoffs.
“No, I can’t.”
Alex snorts.
“You’ll probably run out onto the field and kill the player that took Alex down.”
Tobin snorts as she passes by.
“And then the ref.”
You shake your head.
“No, the ref would be first.”
Christen turns to Alex, smiling when her girlfriend opens her arms.
You grunt as Christen passes you off to Alex, the woman wrapping her arms tightly around you from behind, your back against her chest.
“You know, most people would kill to be where you’ve been in the past five minutes.” Megan snickers and you hum, your arms uncrossing, your hands moving to rest on Alex’s.
Alex’s finger's part, allowing yours to slip between them.
“Oh, so SHE gets to hold your hand and I don’t?” Christen pouts, her pout disappearing moments later when you take her hand.
“That’s better.”
Megan shakes her head as she looks around the room, she and Tobin sharing a glance.
“Idiots.”
Emily shakes her head.
“Correction.” She wags her finger, the blonde grunting when Kelley pulls her into a headlock.
“They’re gay idiots.”
You smirk, giving both Alex’s and Christen’s hands a squeeze.
“It’s okay, we know you’re jealous.”
Kristie snorts.
“I mean honestly...? A little...” She snorts and Sam elbows her.
“I’ll tell Rachel.”
She scoffs.
“Bitch, you know she’d agree.”
***
Much later that night you’re grunting as you fall face first into bed between Alex and Christen, the two women giggling.
Christen rolls over on her side, the woman’s hand slipping under your shirt and running up and down your back in a gentle caress that leaves you basically purring.
Alex glances at the forward, her smile splitting into a grin.
Fingers tangle in your hair and you hum, your eyelids drooping.
“Noo...” You whine, though you make no attempt to move, your chest rumbling.
“No what???” Alex asks with a giggle and you grumble.
“I should be the one taking care of you guys...”
Alex grins apologetically, reaching over you and cupping Christen’s cheek.
“If it wasn’t for Chris, we’d probably both be in jail.”
You snort.
“Probably?” You ask, your voice muffled.
Christen’s hand leaves your back as you roll over, a smile stretching across your face.
“Still, I wish you would’ve let me have a go at the ref.” You pout, your eyes widening and cheeks flushing as Christen ducks down, the woman pressing a kiss to the tip of your nose before she kisses your lips.
“Then you wouldn’t be between Alex and I right now.” She smirks, and you huff.
“True.” You blush, rubbing the back of your neck.
Alex leans down, the woman kissing the nape of your neck, before she wraps her arms around you, pulling you back against her chest.
You sigh, your eyes fluttering shut as your smile splits into a grin.
“Unless you don’t WANT to be between us.”
You scoff.
“Now who said that?” You giggle, sighing in content when Christen scoots closer, her nose brushing yours as her head rests on the pillow beside you.
Christen covers Alex’s hand with her own, their fingers intertwining where they’re resting on your hip.
Christen grins when she realizes you’re fighting off sleep, your eyelids fluttering shut before you snap them back open.
She brushes her nose playfully against yours.
“Sleep.” She whispers and you yawn.
“But...”
Alex nuzzles into the spot behind your ear.
“We’ll be here when you wake up.” She tickles your earlobe with the tip of her nose and you smile.
Sleep is moments from taking you when you find your voice, words slurring as you fight off sleep.
“I love you guys.”
Alex gives Christen hand a squeeze, the two grinning.
“We love you too.” Alex whispers, pressing a kiss to the nape of your neck again.
Christen pecks your lips, her grin widening when you attempt to reciprocate, but fail immensely.
“So, so much.” She whispers.
You hum, unable to fight sleep any long, surrounded in the comforting heat coming from the two women on either side of you, two women you love more than anything in the world.

Alright. US v. Haiti for Olympic Qualifying. I’m adding my two cents to this mess.
Naeher, Sauerbrunn, Dahlkemper. They didn’t have to do much, which was to be expected. Still solid though!! Alyssa did look HELLA confused on the called back corner goal because, UM, WHOMST WAS COVERING FAR POST??
Miss Kelley, being smiley and starting was huge. I’m rooting for those dumb ole ankles of hers. Her first touch was off, but with the field conditions and the fact that this is her first game back since August, NOT BAD. The chemistry between her and Williams was super off, their timing and anticipation of where the other would go, etc. That will come with time. But she made some bomb ass crosses and was killing winning headers in the back. AND she made it 80 minutes. Which obviously, she has the stamina for it, but it was a risky move!
Crystal freaking Dunn. Love her so. Her passes were off, like a lot of the team. But her work rate is so insane. If she lost it, she was getting it back. She had some really good crosses too.
Sonnett got to come in too, which, YAY. Slide tackle was, meh, but I TOO got called for a slide this week soooo.. I’m not out here judging that. She did well for limited time in the waning minutes.
Midfield? Never heard of her.
Jokes aside, everyone was off, but midfield in the first half was practically nonexistent. I don’t know if Haiti was just covering well or Julie, Sam, and Rose weren’t getting in position to receive. Whatever it was, balls not working through midfield was the biggest problem. Not used to seeing that. (I did enjoy seeing those three get SPICY though. Sam Mewis future in wrestling??) I would have liked to see Lindsey come in earlier since it was such a hot mess. Glad she came in regardless, AND DID SO WELL AND SCORED WITH HER BIG HEAD. To quote a gushing Sonnett, “Lindsey Horan is so good.” I’m assuming Andi will get minutes next game too, excited to see what she does!
Carli... scored... eventually. Lol, I’m not going to pretend like she’s my favorite player ever, but I can respect that she is really fucking good. Tonight, her shots were off. I know it. Yall know it. Carli ALSO KNOWS IT. She stuck with it and ended up getting a goal anyway. She’s tenacious and I’LL TAKE IT.
Lynn Williams losing a shoe and assisting a goal is so chaotic. GOOD FOR HER. She did pretty well despite having trouble connecting. It’s too evident that she hasn’t played with the group enough. I also think she has a hard time slowing herself down sometimes and relies on her speed more than anything else. I want to see her slow it tf down for a second and get technical.
Pinoe. changed. the. game. The vibe changed when she got in and she made shit happen. Her services were *chefs kiss* and unrelated to soccer, SHE LOOKED REALLY PRETTY Sorry not sorry
And I saved Christen for last because... PLAYER OF THE MATCH, NUMBER ONE GOAL SCORER, ACTUAL ANGEL Pressy. She was the ONLY one in the first half who had all her shit together. She put passes at feet. She had her head up, she looked to switch the field, she went back on defense, she held the ball and drove forward when necessary, she took SHOTS. The reason she was subbed first was because she likely tweaked her ankle. We don’t deserve Christen Press but I am fucking stoked we have her anyways.
Also. I miss Tobin.

Postgame thoughts:
[Typing these up for once instead of keeping to myself]
Holy Tobin Heath-- literally everywhere all the time
CP 50th goal-- a beaut for a beaut and well deserved
Got a good solid showing of Sonnett the for-back (the only way I am referring to this position for the time being)-- her positioning was pretty on point across the board and had good connections forward and some solid tackles. Great to see a solid 90 out of her
Spicy Sonny made a wonderful appearance or two
The Great Horan had a few glimpses of herself but is still really out of rhythm. She’s just got to play through this mental block. Out of time and position still and it is pretty obvious she knows it, too. She’s got the experience and good soccer instincts, just needs to get back to playing within herself.
loved some of the Sonny-> Horan connections and passes today though especially first half
Our Ohio girl had a great showing-- her diagonal movement from right to left setting up her left foot was a thing of beauty. Would love to see more of the ball at her feet-- going to make good things happen
RIP Becky and Alyssa miscommunication
Still need Captain Becky to happen ASAP
I understand the need to see different combos for Vlatko:
However:
---- Our younger midfield group is shaky- they can get there, but they need a playmaker to guide them. They just aren’t quite ready to maintain stability on their own yet. Not an easy balance to get them there and not relying on our vet playmakers, but still can’t let them run frantic
----Late second half was not a great look
-- Hoping we see more combos against a team that isn’t the big opponent that Sweden (and hopefully in a more stable way?)
[side bar bc goes without saying..... Carly really shouldn’t take pks.... ever]
Cold camera dude’s shaking pregame was a mood and a half and only slightly dizzying
In conclusion, decent start to the Vlatko Era and I am here for it*
* [it being the wild ride the next few months are going to be]

The Call-Up (Alyssa Naeher x Reader)
Anonymous Reader: Can you write an Alyssa x younger reader? Maybe reader just got called up and the team finds out about them?
The only smile that rivals your own is Alyssa’s, the goalie picking you up and spinning you around your living room in excitement.
“I can’t believe it!” You squeal, giggling as Alyssa peppers your face with kisses, your legs wrapping around her middle as she playfully kisses you over and over again.
“I can, you’re an amazing forward Y/N.” She whispers, kissing your cheek again and again, your face flushing red.
Alyssa finally gets to your lips, pressing kiss after kiss to them before she simply holds you, squeezing you tightly.
You’d just been called up to the USNWT, making it through camp even though you’d gone up against some of the greatest forwards in the world.
“I just can’t believe it.” You sniffle, tears rolling down your cheeks, tears Alyssa is quick to kiss away.
“Believe it, you’re a member of the USWNT now babe.” She beams and you squeal, wiggling in her hold until she puts you down.
“I think this calls for a celebration, hmm?” You wink, making a beeline for your bed room, the goalie watching you with a blush.
“Uhh... ye-yeah, sure...”
***
You wiggle excitedly in your seat beside Alyssa, the goalie beaming as you wiggle on your way to practice.
Alyssa snickers, giving you a nudge.
“Sorry, I’m just so excited.” You squeal, wrapping your arms around one of hers and she grins.
“I know you are.” She rests her head on top of yours and you sigh.
“You two are so gross.” Julie teases on her way by and you roll your eyes, Alyssa giving her a playful swat.
“Shut up Ertz.”
Julie and Tierna were the only two on the USWNT who were aware of the relationship between the two of you, considering you were all on the Chicago Red Stars together.
You knew the others weren’t aware of the relationship between the two of you, considering you were careful to keep your relationship out of the public eye.
There was a bit of an age difference between the two of you, not by much, but still it was more than most people would deem, ‘necessary.’
Eventually you knew that the USWNT would find out.
“There she issssssss!” Emily practically flies at you, ruffling your hair.
The two of you had grown close over camp, both of you were practical jokers and it showed, the two of you becoming a dynamic duo.
“Uh oh, Sonnett’s partner in crime is hereee!” Kelley laughs as she gets on the bus, nudging Sonnett with her hip, causing her to fall into her seat.
“Hey!” She growls, pulling Kelley into a headlock, the two women playfully wrestling.
Alyssa shakes her head, turning to you as the two of them playfully wrestle.
“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” She asks and you nod, beaming.
“MORE than ready.”
***
Alyssa wags a gloved finger at you as she catches your shot, smirking confidently.
“No freebies for her girl? How cold...” Julie teases and you smirk.
“Oh, I don’t need any.” You wink and Julie nods.
“Confident as usual.” Tierna teases on her way by and you nod.
“Always.”
***
Skirmishes during camp had always been like playing real games and they were no different at practice, Tobin showing off her incredible nutmeg skills whereas Kelley was still as spicy as ever if need be.
You quickly fell into line, firing at goal as if you were playing a real game, sinking it into the net passed Alyssa’s fingertips.
“OHHH!” Julie yells and you grin, striking a few poses, Emily ruffling your hair with a grin.
“LET’S TAKE 5 GUYS.” Vlatko claps his hands and you grin, running to Alyssa, the goalie rolling her eyes.
“You got lucky.” She grins, slipping an arm around you and you smirk.
“Oh, did I?” You snort, huffing as you walk ahead of the goalie who jogs after you. She wraps her arms around you from behind and pulls you against her chest.
“You know I’m kidding.” She whispers in your ear and you nod.
“I know.”
The two of you move to the sidelines, your back resting against her chest as you take a break, the two of you too wrapped up in one another to really see the team all staring your way.
“Ummmm...” Emily starts, but is silenced when Lindsey slaps a hand over her mouth.
You tilt your head back, looking up at Alyssa with a grin.
“If I was just ‘lucky’ will I be just ‘lucky’ next time?” You hum and Alyssa rolls her eyes, leaning down to press a kiss to your forehead.
“Hmmm yeah, it will probably be just luck.”
You turn around in her arms, leaning in to press a kiss to her lips.
“Keep dreaming Naeher.”
Your eyes suddenly widen, as do Alyssa’s the two of you turning to the rest of the team, everyone’s eyes wide, except for of course Julie and Tierna, the two cringing slightly, hoping their teammates will approve.
“So, you’re together?” Kelley asks, pointing between you and Alyssa, the goalie swallowing hard.
“Yeah, we are.” You nod confidently, feeling the woman behind you trembling.
Ashlyn who had remained silent the entire time, literally screams.
“I KNEW IT BITCHESSSS! PAY THE FUCK UP.”
You and Alyssa watch wide eyed as Christen, Tobin, Alex, Ali, and Megan grimace.
“Yeah, you don’t need to rub it in.” Tobin huffs.
“Yeah, bitch.” Megan sticks her tongue out and your brows furrow as you look up at Alyssa.
“Wha-What?” Alyssa stammers, her eyes wide as they dart around the group.
“Yeah, I totally knew, no one else thought so.” Ashlyn shrugs. “Now who’s the poor ones BITCHES!?” She yells, grunting when Megan tackles her to the ground.
“Se-Seriously?” You stammer, everyone stilling as they turn to you.
“You’re not weirded out by the-the age gap?” Alyssa says nervously, shuffling from foot to foot.
Kelley walks over to the two of you, wrapping her arms around the both of you.
“Are you happy?” She asks, her chin on your shoulder and you both nod.
“Of course.”
“Yeah, I mean I love her.” Alyssa shrugs, her cheeks flushing and you stiffen, realizing that she’d just say she loved you for the first time.
“That’s all that matters to us.” Megan shrugs from where she’s laying on the ground, groaning when Ashlyn pulls her into a headlock.
“Yeah, that’s all that matters!” Emily grins, and you smile, turning around in Alyssa’s arms to look up at her, the goalie smiling sweetly.
“You love me?” You whisper, Alyssa’s eyes widening, cheeks flushing when she realizes what she’d just said.
“Ye-Yeah, more than... More than anything.” She whispers and you grin, pushing yourself up on your tiptoes to press a kiss to her lips.
“I love you too.” You whisper and she grins, leaning in for another kiss.
“Okay, now that we know you’re together doesn’t mean you have to be gross.” Kelley gags and Alex pulls her into a headlock.
“You’re just jealous.” She whispers and the defender’s cheeks flush.
“No, I’m not.”
Julie walks up to the two of you, she and Tierna pulling you into a group hug.
“We told you they wouldn’t care.” Tierna smiles and you grin, holding her, Julie and Alyssa close.
“Yeah half of them are gay, or in love with each other, so...” Julie shrugs, everyone stopping as they turn to her, Christen and Tobin glancing at one another as well as Kelley and Alex, AND Emily and Lindsey.
“WHAT!?”

Baby Heath: Loading... (Tobin Heath x Reader)
Anonymous Request: Could you do a Tobin x R, where the R is pregnant and Tobin cares for her. With the ending being R giving birth to a baby girl named Ashlyn. (Named after R's soccer mom)
SOOOO, considering it’s someone’s birthday today, I thought it was only fair to post ONLY for her today.
Happy Birthday to one of the greatest forwards of all time, the no-look shooting, the fancy dribbling, spicy Nutmeg Queen herself, Tobin Heath!!!!!
Tobin brushes a strand of hair out of your face and you smile, the woman’s soft brown orbs the first thing you see when your Y/E/C orbs flutter open.
“Are those heart eyes I see?” You ask, the woman rolling her eyes as she leans in, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“Maybe...” Tobin blushes and you smirk, yawning.
“They totally are.”
Tobin rolls her eyes, leaning down to playfully rub her nose against yours.
“I mean, you ARE my wife...” She teases, her tongue trapped between her teeth. “I didn’t think you’d mind.”
You cup her cheeks, pulling her in for a kiss.
“Oh, I definitely don-
You jump, the tiny life inside you kicking you straight in the bladder, making her presence known.
“Well, someone’s practicing her power shots.” Tobin laughs, rubbing your tummy and you hum.
“Right on my bladder.” You growl, squealing when Tobin picks you up, carrying you bridal style towards the bathroom.
"Your chariot my lady.” She grins and you snort.
“Such a gentlewoman.”
“Only for you love, only for you.”
***
Tobin’s eyes fluttered shut as she rests her head on your tummy, smiling when she feels the little girl's tiny kicks.
“I can’t wait to meet her.” Tobin whispers as your fingers run through her hair, a grin on your face.
“She’s going to be so spoiled.”
Tobin rolls over, her sparkling brown orbs locked with your Y/E/C orbs.
“Of course, she’s my baby girl.” She beams and you smile, cupping Tobin’s cheek.
“She’s going to have the best mommy.” You whisper as you brush a strand of hair out of her face.
“She will, and I’m looking at her.”
You shake your head.
“I love you Tobin.” You whisper, the woman sending you her trademark grin, the corners of her eyes wrinkling.
“I love you too.”
Tobin jumps at the sound of her phone vibrating and she smirks.
“Probably Ashlyn again checking up on her daughter.” She sends you a wink and you grin.
“Hey, you can’t say she’s a neglectful soccer mom.”
***
“Babe?” Tobin yawns digging the heels of her palms into her sleepy eyes.
“Yeah?” You call out from the kitchen, the woman smiling.
Tobin walks towards where you’re standing at the counter, munching on a pickle.
Tobin wraps her arms around you from behind, yawning.
“It’s cold without you.” She hums, nuzzling into the nape of your neck.
You smile, leaning back against her.
“Your daughter wanted pickles.”
Tobin laughs.
“Does she want anything else? I can make her and her beautiful mother anything she wants.” She kisses the back of your neck and you hum.
“Grilled cheese?”
Tobin rests her chin on your shoulder, turning your head so she can press a tender kiss to your lips.
“Anything for you.”
***
You pout, eyes glassy with tears as you poke your protruding belly.
“Hey what’s wrong??” Christen asks, the woman, along with Emily and Lindsey there to spend the day with you while Tobin was out.
“I’m so fat.” You sniffle, turning to Christen with a trembling lip, the woman wordlessly opening her arms, allowing you to bury yourself in her embrace.
“Whoa, what’s wrong?” Emily asks.
“I'M A COW!” You sob, the blonde’s eyes widening as she jumps behind Lindsey.
“No, you aren’t!” Lindsey frowns, glancing down at your tummy, you follow her gaze and again let out a sob.
“I SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO LIVE IN A HOUSE I SHOULD BE IN A PASTURE!”
A snort sounds from behind Lindsey, everyone turning towards Emily, the hazel orbed blonde shrugging.
“What? It was funny.”
Your bottom lip juts out and Emily shakes her head, arms flailing.
“No! No crying!” She frowns, your bottom lip trembling as she cups your cheeks.
“You’ve got a Heath in your belly; god knows she eats a lot.” She winks and you let out a watery laugh.
“She does, she’s always hungry.”
Christen hums.
“Are you eating healthy?” She asks, eyes narrowed and your eyes widen.
“Ummmm...”
“Hey, I’m home!” You hear Tobin’s voice from the living room and sigh in relief.
“Oh, thank god.” You mumble, waddling away, Christen’s eyes narrowing further.
“Tobin! Have you been feeding Y/N junk food!?” She yells, Tobin’s eyes widening when angry green orbs lock with hers.
“Ummmmmmm....”
Christen crosses her arms across her chest.
“Jesus Christ, I’m moving back in.”
***
Christen was true to her word, and soon she was crashing in the guest bedroom, chastising Tobin whenever she’d give you something unhealthy, but even SHE knew to not come between you and your cravings, BUT she’d always balance out those cravings with a healthier option.
Soon Christen had you craving home blended strawberry banana smoothies and Christen felt INCREDIBLY accomplished.
“See, you just needed me here.” Christen shrugs with a smile.
You hum, chugging down another smoothie.
“Agreed.”
Christen glances at Tobin, your wife shaking her head.
“Don’t rub it in.”
“I would NEVER.”
***
The closer your due date comes, the more your wife and her best friend kept their eyes on you, Tobin asking Christen to stay so she could keep an eye on you when she couldn’t.
She wasn’t the only one who decided to make her presence known, considering Ali and Ashlyn had decided to take up residence in the apartment, Ashlyn wanting to be closer to her ‘daughter.’
The baby had noticeably ‘dropped’ inside you, signaling that the little bundle of joy inside of you was coming sooner rather than later.
You wince, stopping to grab a nearby wall, another painful contraction making ache.
“You okay?” Tobin asks, placing a hand on your back and you nod.
Typically, your contractions taper off, but in this case, they were being PAINFULLY persistent.
“Yeah it’s just, not stopping.” You growl, sweat forming on your brow.
You give your head a shake, taking a deep breath, looking down at the floor.
“It’s so messy in here.” You mumble, waddling towards the closet to get the sweeper.
Tobin glances in the living room at Christen and Ali, the two women humming.
“I think she’s nesting.” Ali comments, her eyes narrowed.
“What does that mean?” Ashlyn asks, flopping down on the couch beside her wife and Christen hums.
“It means someone is coming and coming VERY soon.”
***
“FUCKING HELL.” You yell as Tobin helps you into the car, she, Christen, Ashlyn, Ali, and the addition of Megan, who’d came the following day, pilling into the car.
“Come on, let’s get her to the hospital.” Christen shuts the door, basically appearing in the driver’s seat and zooming towards the ER.
Your water hadn’t broken, but the pain you were feeling was intense, a pain you had yet to feel during your pregnancy.
Ashlyn winces as you take her hand, squeezing it so hard she’s afraid her fingers are snapping beneath your grasp.
Tobin holds you close, whispering softly in your ear, trying to calm you down in any way she can.
“It hurts Tobe, it hurts.” You whisper, inhaling softly, your eyes flashing open when you realize what had just happened.
“Ummmm Chris.” Tobin’s eyes widen as she looks down at the seat of her car, cringing.
“Yeah?”
“Y/N’s water just broke.”
***
You let out a raspy groan, your throat sore from all the crying considering you were in the worst pain you’d ever felt.
“It’s okay, I’m here.” Tobin kisses your temple, the woman shushing you softly as she nuzzles into your sweaty hair.
You’d been in labor for hours, the tiny body inside you putting up a fight, not yet wanting to come out to the world, but what you didn’t realize was you were about to meet her in mere moments.
“Okay Y/N, I need you to push again, okay?” The OB asks and you tiredly nod, Tobin taking your hand as you push with all your might.
“Only a few more Y/N, she’s ready.”
You push, and push, and push again, somewhere in all that pushing, your daughter enters the world, her tiny cries filling the room.
You laugh, leaning against Tobin the woman grinning as she peppers your cheeks with kisses, until you turn your head, your lips meeting in a weak kiss.
“She’s here Y/N, she’s here.” She whispers, as the OB waves her over.
“Cut the cord?” She asks and Tobin nods, making her way towards the table where her daughter lies, the little girl crying as she snips the cord.
“You ready to meet mommy?” Tobin asks, the little girl crying as the doctor takes her to you.
Though you’re exhausted, you open your arms, taking the little girl, hugging her against your chest, the little girl’s cries tapering off.
You look down at the little girl bundled in your arms, a grin stretching across your face, it’s a few moments later her tiny little Y/E/C orbs open, locking with yours, the baby looking up at you in curiosity.
Tobin leans her head against yours, staring down at the little girl who turns to her, eyeing her just as curiously.
“Do we have a name picked out?” The OB asks and you grin, turning to Tobin.
“Yes, I think we do.”
***
Ashlyn’s bottom lip trembles when she sees the little girl asleep in Tobin’s arms, the goalie stopping beside your bed, grinning down at you, a grin you return.
“She’s wonderful.” You grin, as Ashlyn tucks a strand of hair behind your hair.
“You never told us her name.” She whispers and you grin, nodding towards the neatly written scrawl the doctor had written on the baby’s chart.
Ashlyn turns to it, ducking down to look at the scrawl, tears in her hazel orbs.
“Christen...” Ashlyn sniffles, glancing at the forward who makes her way over, looking at the baby’s name, Ali, Emily, Megan and Lindsey on her heels, eyes narrowed.
Christen’s green orbs fill with tears as she turns to you and Tobin, little Ashton now in your arms as you hold her close, the baby’s Y/E/C orbs on the women surrounding her bed.
“Are you guys serious?” Ali asks, the two of you grinning as you duck down to kiss Ashton’s forehead.
“More than serious.” You grin.
Tobin nods.
“You brought us together after all.”
Ashlyn moves towards the bed, Christen on the opposite side as they wrap their arms around you, and Tobin.
“Group hug!” Emily squeals, the rest of her teammates quick to join in, wrapping their arms around you, Tobin and little Ashton Annamarie Heath, the little girl already having each and every one of their hearts, as well as their aunts who couldn’t be there.
The door suddenly swings open to reveal a heavily panting Kelley O’Hara, the woman’s eyes wide.
“I missed the group hug already!?”
Mallory Pugh whines as she and Carli Lloyd make their way into the room.
“We’re late for the group hug!?”
Rose Lavelle shakes her head, groaning.
“Damn it.”
Becky Sauerbrunn huffs as she moves into the room.
“How the hell did YOU get here before me?” She asks, pointing at Kelley and she shrugs.
“Gotta improve on that speed Broon.”

Finding You Again (But We Were Never Lost) (Tobin Heath x Reader)
Anonymous Request: can you do one with tobin where they break up, then come back to each other? just like refinding love or what not?
I wouldn’t have this fic without @themanbexl coming up with an idea like... Months beforehand that fits this fic PERFECTLY, so thanks loveeee!
This one gets PRETTY heavy, so be ready!
Tobin’s cleats clicked and squeaked on the hospital’s floor as she sprinted around the corner, far ahead of her teammates considering the second she got the call from the hospital she was off like a shot.
She zoomed passed nurses and doctors alike until she made it, skidding to a halt, at the reception desk.
“Y/N...” She pants. “Y/N Y/L/N, where is she?!” She shouts, the receptionist searching through her computer.
“Can I ask your na-
“Tobin. Tobin Heath.”
The woman nods.
“She’s been taken into surgery, if you could wait-
“I am NOT waiting out here, I want to be there when she’s out.”
The receptionist licks her lips, taking a deep breath.
“Let me see what I can do.”
***
Finally, the nurses bring the entire team to an empty room to wait, Tobin pacing the length of the room, back and forth and back and forth.
The two of you had recently broken up, recently being nearly a year ago.
Of course, that didn’t mean the love Tobin felt for you diminished in anyway, but what DID happen, was that she’d started dating whereas you had remained single.
Tobin’s phone vibrates in her pocket, but she couldn’t careless, right now, all that mattered was Y/N, and all that mattered was knowing if you were going to be okay.
The door swings open, revealing a man in a pair of scrubs a man Tobin is on in a matter of seconds.
“WHY THE HELL IS NO ONE TELLING ME ANYTHING!?” She screams angrily, only taking a step back when Christen pulls her back.
“You’re here for Ms. Y/L/N?” He asks and everyone nods.
“She’s out of surgery, she was bleeding internally but we got that taken care of...”
The doctor takes a deep breath, rubbing his hands together.
“She has a compound fracture to her right tibia, which required us to go in there and place some pins and screws... I’m afraid she’s going to be on the shelf for a while.” He frowns as Tobin falls into an empty seat, hands sliding to the back of her neck as her fingers intertwine.
“What even happened?” Kelley asks with a frown.
“Car accident... A fatal one for the Uber driver..”
Tobin picks her head up.
“When can I see her?” She asks, forgetting her teammates entirely for a moment. “I mean w-we...”
Emily’s hand runs down Tobin’s back, the woman leaning against her while Alex slips an arm around her middle.
“When we get her in a room, you’ll be the first to know.” He nods, holding his hand out to Tobin, the woman shaking his hand.
“Thanks.”
The doctor briskly slips out of the room leaving behind a stunned USWNT, all of them rallying around Tobin, who was beside herself.
Tobin’s phone vibrates in her pocket and she snarls, jerking it from her pocket and glaring at the screen, dropping it on the table.
“Blaire?” Christen asks and Tobin nods, tears sliding down her cheeks.
“All that matters right now is Y/N.”
Kelley’s eyes dart to Christen, the two sharing a glance, Ashlyn and Ali sharing a similar glance before turning to Megan.
The door swings back open and Tobin abruptly moves to her feet.
“We’ve got her in a room.”
“Where?” Tobin asks, practically on the doctor’s heels as he leads her down the hallway, the others right behind her.
“Damn it.” Christen mumbles when she swipes Tobin’s phone, and chases after her teammates, the group of women eventually screeching to a halt.
Tobin’s eyes fill with tears when she sees you.
“Y/N...” Mallory whispers with a frown, watching as Tobin slowly makes her way into the room, brown orbs on your bruised, broken and scraped form.
Tobin can’t take her eyes off you, a tube running down your throat, cuts and bruises along the side of your head and face, your right arm mangled bruised and slashed.
Tobin zeroes in on your leg and lets out a sob, the woman moving towards the bed, staring down at your leg.
Tears stream down her face as she gently cups your cheek, thumb running along your bruised and scratched flesh.
“Y/N...” Tobin whispers, shaking her head. “Look at you...” Tobin drops to her knees beside the bed, her forehead resting on the bed beside your arm.
“I’m here Y/N... I hope you can hear me...” She whispers. “I’m here...”
The rest of the USWNT file in, each and every one of them looking at you with tears in their eyes.
Emily and Lindsey stand at the end of the bed, tears running down their cheeks as they look down at your leg sadly.
Christen stands beside Tobin, a hand on her back as she tries to comfort her best friend who’s sobbing into the bed.
Kelley, Alex, Ashlyn, Ali and Megan all crowd around the forward, doing their best to comfort her, the woman shaking her head.
“You have to wake up, please...” Tobin sniffles. “Please wake up.”
Again Tobin’s phone vibrates, the forward taking a deep breath.
“Want me to tell her what’s going on?” Christen asks, earning a weak nod from Tobin, the forward couldn’t care less about Blaire right now, not when you were right here, and you were so broken.
***
Blaire was NOT happy with the amount of times she had to call before Tobin answered, and she wasn’t exactly happy that Tobin was doting over her ex, Christen could tell even though she hadn’t said it flat out.
There was no way Christen was going to tell Tobin that either, the forward off in her own little world, sitting at your bedside, along with her teammates.
Tear-filled brown orbs were laser focused on you, waiting for any sign of life, but she hadn’t got any, at least until now.
The heart monitor beside your bed begins to beep rapidly, Tobin’s brown orbs going wide when she sees your eyes fluttering open.
Y/E/C orbs dart around the room, zeroing in on Tobin’s brown orbs, your face scrunching up in pain.
“Sit still. Sit still.” She whispers, running her fingers through your hair as the doctors and nurses rush in, moving to remove the breathing tube from your throat.
The seconds it’s out you turn to Tobin.
“Toby...” You rasp, face contorted into a look of pure pain.
“I'm here, I’m here.” She chants, brushing a strand of hair out of your face.
“Y/N, I need you to tell me your pain level.” The doctor rounds the bed and you sniffle.
“10.” You say without missing a beat, Tobin frowning as you grimace.
“It’s all gonna be okay, we’re going to take care of you.”
You briefly note that the doctor must’ve increased your pain meds when your eyelids flutter, sleep moments from taking you.
Tobin cups your cheek, the woman’s eyes softening as your eyes lock.
“Will you stay...?” You whisper, Tobin smiling softly as she nods.
“Always.”
***
Tobin was true to her word, staying in your hospital room each and every night unwilling to leave your side unless she had to.
Your hospital room became grand central for the USWNT, always going in and out, in and out, checking on you and Tobin since she refused to leave your bedside.
What Tobin didn’t realize was someone was coming into the hospital, not to visit you, but to visit her, that someone being her girlfriend.
Mallory’s eyes widen when Blaire walks into the room, completely unnoticed by Tobin, whose attention is all on you.
She clears her throat until Tobin turns around, her eyes wide.
“H-Hey...” Tobin kisses Blaire’s cheek, the woman painfully aware of the fact that Tobin had avoided her lips.
“What are you doing here?” She asks, and Blaire smirks.
“Well, I figured you were here, and I had nothing going on so...” She shrugs, glancing at the bed where you’re lying, face impassive, something that makes Mallory scowl.
“Bitch.” She whispers to Rose, the woman nodding as she too scowls.
“So, this is where you’ve been?” She asks, a bit of an angry lilt to her voice, something that makes Tobin’s brows furrow.
“Well, yeah... I mean Y/N is hurt...” She shrugs and Blaire scoffs.
“She looks asleep too me... You could at least answer my calls.”
Tobin’s eyes narrow, hands balling into fists, but before she can reply someone clears their throat.
Blaire flips around coming face to face with not only Christen Press, but Kelley O’Hara as well, though before THEY can say anything you let out a whine.
Tobin’s ears perk up as she turns away from Blaire and hurries to your bedside.
“Y/N?” She whispers, your eyes fluttering for a moment before they open.
“Toby?” You rasp, the woman grabbing your water, bringing the straw to your lips.
Blaire opens her mouth to say something, but is cut off when both Kelley and Christen move to stand between her and Tobin.
“I think you should come back later...” Kelley’s eyes narrow.
“Yeah, Y/N needs her rest.” Christen growls, the blonde rolling her eyes before she turns around and stomps out of the room.
“Are you in any pain?” Tobin asks, brushing a bit of hair out of your face and you grimace.
“Yeah... Was that Blaire?” You rasp, the forward turning around to Blaire, who is nowhere to be found.
“Ye-Yeah, I guess she left.” Tobin shrugs, turning back to you, missing the way Christen and Kelley smile at one another before glancing at Mallory and Rose, the two grinning.
Tobin shakes her head, cupping your cheek.
“I’m so sorry Y/N...” She whispers, tucking your hair behind your ear and you hum.
“Why...?”
Tobin shakes her head.
“I should’ve been there, I should’ve...”
Tobin’s eyes widen when you cover her hand on your cheek with one of your marred hands.
“You couldn’t have known.” You yawn, leaning heavily against her palm. “What matters is you’re here now...” You yawn, the forward grinning.
“Yeah... I’m here.”
***
Unfortunately, Blaire makes her presence known at the hospital constantly, snarking at Tobin each and every time which would result in an argument.
During one argument you woke, hearing the two women going at it in the hallway, Blaire angrily saying your name.
You turn to Ali and Ashlyn, the two women sending you soft smiles despite the row currently going on in the hall.
“What is Blaire doing here?” You rasp, Ashlyn rolling her eyes.
“I don’t know but it be nice if she got the fuck out of here.” She scoffs, Emily and Lindsey snorting from where they’re lounging on the couch at the end of the bed.
“AMEN.” Emily raises her hands above her head and you snort.
It was no secret to them that you still loved Tobin, the two of you’d broken up in all honesty because of the fan’s constant toxicity, it’s because of their toxicity that you went overseas to play for Arsenal, giving a heart broken Tobin the chance to meet Blaire in a coffee shop in Portland.
“I wish we never would’ve broken up...” You rasp, with a frown, Ali cupping your cheek.
“Maybe it had to happen?” She asks and you shrug, that is until Emily moves towards the bed.
“So, you could find each other again.” She adds, gently taking your hand and you smile, grumbling.
“I wish that didn’t include me nearly getting flattened.” You snort, the blonde giggling.
Suddenly Tobin moves back into the room, brown orbs on you.
“I thought I heard your laugh.” She smiles, cheeks flushing and you smile.
“You know Sonny, getting me to laugh after I’ve nearly been flattened like a pancake...”
Tobin shakes her head.
“Please, don’t talk like that... I wouldn’t have...” Tobin shakes her head, looking down at you with a frown, unaware that Blaire is still in the hallway.
“I wouldn’t have been able to take it.”
Your eyes widen when Tobin’s hand rests on top of yours, much to your dismay your eyelids fluttering as you fight off sleep.
“Sleep Y/N...” She whispers and you sigh, shaking your head, words slurring.
“I want to look at you more...” You murmur, unaware of what exactly you’d just said.
Tobin shakes her head, chuckling.
“Sleep Y/N, I’ll be here when you wake up.”
You mumble, your fingers tangling with Tobin’s as you fall fast asleep, the forward’s brown orbs on you the entire time.
Tobin picks her head up, eyes widening when she sees Ali, Ashlyn, Emily and Lindsey all grinning her way.
“What?”
They all shake their heads.
“Nothing.”
“Not a thing.”
***
The next time you wake, you’re unfortunately alone, or so you think until you turn to the chair in the corner and spot a familiar pair of brown orbs.
Brown orbs that belong to Blaire.
“I was hoping you’d wake up soon, don’t really want to be here all day.”
Your brows furrow, eyes narrowing.
“If you don’t want to be here, why are you?” You rasp, the woman rolling her eyes.
“We BOTH know why I’m here.” She scoffs as she walks to the bed. “Leave Tobin alone...”
You chuckle.
“It’s not like I’m pursuing her, she’s coming here...” You shift, letting out a groan. “What the hell do you expect me to do from a hospital bed?”
Blaire glances away, growling.
“I’m surprised Tobin even started dating you, probably didn’t show her your true colors until after she asked you to be her girlfriend, hmm?”
Blaire’s nostrils flair.
“No actually, it wasn’t until YOU came back to the United States. It wasn’t until you came back from overseas and ruined what we had-
“Excuse me, is everything okay in here?”
Blaire turns around brows arched when she sees a nurse standing at the door, the woman, you’d guess, must have heard the woman’s raised voice.
Suddenly, two people slip into the room, the two women smirking.
“Oh no, everything is JUST fine.” Kelley smirks, Christen’s eyes narrowing as she sends daggers Blaire’s way.
You don’t even try to bite back a smile when Alyssa, Ashlyn, Ali, Abby, Julie and Becky make their way into the room, every one of them glaring Blaire’s way.
“Thank you though.” Ali gives the nurse a smile, the woman nodding before she takes her leave, the USWNT players file in, closing the door behind them and shutting the blinds that cover the windows looking into your room from the hallway.
“Why the fuck are you even here?” Ali asks, everyone turning to her with wide eyes, before they snort, the loudest snort coming from Ashlyn.
“To check on-
“Fucking shut up, you were not.” Julie snarls, nostrils flaring.
“You were waiting until we all left, weren’t you?” Abby shakes her head.
Blaire turns back towards the bed and you smirk, shrugging.
“Sucks for you that they didn’t go overseas too.” You smirk, the woman scowling.
Alyssa takes a step towards Blaire, towering over the woman.
“Weren’t you just leaving?” She asks, glaring down at the woman who has the sense to look terrified, which she obviously is.
“Yeah, she was.” Kelley takes a step towards her, standing beside Alyssa, Abby and the others quickly joining her.
“I think I ALSO heard you say you weren’t coming back.” Becky adds, the woman giving Blaire her trademark look, the woman sending a glare over her shoulder before she practically runs out of the room.
The women all glare at her back as she basically runs away, turning back to you when you let out a loud snort, whining loudly, grabbing your stitched stomach.
“Oh my god, she was so scared.” You laugh, despite your pain, groaning loudly.
Julie moves towards the bed, shaking her head as she holds your water allowing you to take a sip.
“What did she say to you?” Christen asks, the muscle in her jaw jumping.
“You know, just the regular bitchy rhetoric.”
Kelley hums.
“You mean like when Scooby Doo villains were caught?” She asks, Ashlyn shaking her fist at the sky.
“I would’ve gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for you mangy kids.”
Christen meanwhile is glaring back at the door.
“What did she say Y/N?” She asks through gritted teeth and you sigh.
“Told me I ruined her and Tobin by coming back to the sta-
“Okay. THAT’s it.” Christen goes to leave, screeching to a halt when she nearly bulldozes over Tobin, the woman’s eyes wide.
“Whoa, is everything okay? Is Y/N okay?”
Tobin doesn’t wait for an answer, instead slipping around Christen and rushing to your bedside, taking a deep breath when she sees you’re alright.
“Thank God, you’re fine.”
You smile softly, your eyes fluttering shut.
“Even better now that you’re here.”
Your cheeks flush, as do Tobin’s, the woman smiling as she takes your hand.
“Well, I’m glad to be here.”
The others watch the two of you with a grin, the mob of women all settling around the room, watching as you again fall asleep, your hand in Tobin’s.
***
Tobin frowns as you grimace, the doctor and nurses inspecting your stitched leg and torso.
“Shhh, it’s okay.” Tobin whispers as you lean against her, your face buried in her chest as they clean and bandage your incision’s stitches.
“Everything is looking good, you’re healing well, it’ll only be a matter of time before you’re out of here.” The doctor smiles and you sigh.
“You guys are great and all, but I’d LOVE to go home.”
The doctor smiles, as do the nurses.
“Trust me, we understand Ms. Y/L/N, remember press the button if you need anything.”
The doctor and nurses file out of the room, closing the door behind them.
You turn to Tobin, smiling softly.
“I’m so glad you’re getting better...” She whispers, resting her head on the bed beside you.
You shift, gritting your teeth, Tobin frowning as she helps you lay back.
“Easy, you need to sit still.”
You blow a raspberry at her, the woman shaking her head.
“You’re a literal child, aren’t you?”
You shrug.
“You love me.”
The two of you stiffen, eyes wide. You turn away from Tobin and Tobin turns away from you, her cheeks dusted pink as you both bite back smiles.
“Well, of course I do.” Tobin shrugs, turning back to you with a grin, your eyes widen as you grin back.
Your leg involuntarily spasms and you whine, teeth clenched.
Tobin frowns, heart aching at the fact she can’t take your pain away. She moves to her feet, drawing you attention away from your aching leg to her.
“What’s wrong?” You ask, grimacing and Tobin motions towards the bed.
“Scoot over.”
Your brows knit in confusion but you still do your best to scoot over, Tobin’s hand on yours when you’ve given her enough room.
“What are you...”
You inhale sharply when Tobin slips out of her shoes and crawls into the bed beside you, your cheeks flushed and eyes wide.
She wiggles around, sure to keep from bumping you as she gets into a comfortable position.
“Ummmm...” Tobin blushes, opening her arms and you smile, eyes sparkling with adoration as you settle on her chest, the two of you sighing in content, the feel of being in one another’s arms again bringing you a sense of relief you hadn’t felt since the two of you had broken up.
Tobin smiles lazily.
“I’ve missed this...” She whispers, looking down at you through shining brown orbs. “I’ve missed you.”
You look up at her through your eye lashes, giving the forward a massive grin.
“I’ve missed you too.”
***
You’re not sure how much time has passed when you’re startled awake by a shove.
“Fuck.” You wince, your pained cry immediately waking Tobin.
“Are you alright?” She asks, brown orbs widening when she sees Blaire standing on your side of the bed.
“Just waking her from her nap.”
It’s then you see something snap inside of Tobin, a spark behind her brown orbs making your eyes widen.
“I’ll be right back.” She whispers and you nod, grunting as Tobin slips from the bed, her absence making your heart ache.
“O-Okay...” You stammer, the medication dripping through your IV making your eyelids flutter.
Tobin shuts the door, her brown orbs no longer holding the warmth they had when looking at you.
“You hurt her.” Tobin snarls, nostrils flaring, Blaire’s brown orbs narrowing.
“I don’t care what I-
“Go back to Portland.” Tobin says coldly, hands balling into fists.
“You and I, are done.” She snarls, turning towards the door back to your room.
“Are you fucking kidding me you’re gonna dump me for-
“Excuse me, is there a problem here?”
Tobin turns to a nearby nurse, nodding.
“If you could keep her from coming back into the room, I’d REALLY appreciate it, she keeps disrupting Y/N’s sleep.” Tobin sends Blaire a smirk.
“You and I are done, don’t call me and do NOT come back here, leave me, my team AND Y/N, ALONE.” Tobin states fiercely before making her way back into the room, shutting the door behind her.
Tobin watches with a smile as your eyelids flutter back open, a pout on your face.
“Can’t sleep without you...” You mumble, Tobin smiling as she gingerly slips back into bed beside you.
“Well, I’m not going anywhere again.” She whispers, grinning as you bury your face in her chest.
“Promise?” You yawn, taking a deep breath, falling asleep in seconds.
“I promise.”
***
You’re the first to wake hours later, the steady rise and fall of Tobin’s chest, and the pitter patter of her heart beneath your ear makes you grin.
You hum, nuzzling into her chest, the woman’s hold on you tightening.
“Are you awake?” Tobin asks, voice rough from sleep and you yawn.
“Yeah.”
Tobin goes silent and you glance up, brows furrowed.
“What’s-
Your eyes widen when Tobin leans in, her lips pressing ever so gently against yours. She inhales sharply, pulling back, her brown orbs wide.
“I’m so sorry, I-
This time, you’re the one closing the gap between the two of you, your lips meeting Tobin’s for the second time in nearly a year. Her lips move against yours in a way that makes you melt, like her kisses always had.
The two of you part, eyes fluttering open at roughly the same time, a glassy sheen to Tobin’s brown orbs and your Y/E/C’s.
Tobin gently cups your cheek, her thumb running along a healing scratch on your cheek.
“I’m sorry Y/N... I’m sorry I let you go the first time...” She whispers, leaning in to rest her forehead against yours.
“And I’m sorry for letting go...” You place your bruise covered hand over Tobin’s that’s resting on your cheek.
“I never stopped loving you.” You confess, turning your head and pressing a kiss to the center of her palm.
Tobin sniffles, tears leaking from her brown orbs and streaming down her cheeks.
“And I never stopped loving you.”
Tobin leans in again but this time you abruptly lean back, the corner of the woman’s lips drooping in a frown.
“What about Blaire?” You ask, eyes narrowed and Tobin grins.
“She’s gone... After what she did earlier I just...” She shakes her head. “I’m done with her.”
Your tongue swipes at your lips, your eyes darting around her face.
“Do you...” You bite your bottom lip, taking a deep breath. “Do you want to try again...?” You ask, unable to look her in the eye and Tobin grins, cupping your cheeks with both hands.
“If you do, then I want to.” She grins, your smile stretching into a massive grin.
“Of course, I want to.”
The two of you lean in at roughly the same time, closing the gap between you, your lips meeting again, the kiss a promise that you’d give it your all to stay together, no matter what the fans or others said.
And that promise lead to a life of complete and utter happiness between the two of you, the two of you promising to spend your life together in an entirely different setting...
Though this time it wasn’t at a hospital bed, it was at the altar.

The Goalie’s Girlfriend (Alyssa Naeher x Reader)
Anonymous Request: Oooooohhhhh. Any Alyssa Naeher fics coming? She’s my favorite and she completely owns my ass. Like imagine cuddling her: strong arms wrapped around you. She seems soft, but I feel like she would absolutely rail someone in bed. *i would like to be that someone
No railing here anon, but going for the softer/calmer/stops her girlfriend from killing someone, side.
Constantly getting fouled without even a single call against England was getting to you, of course you were pissed, but Alyssa Naeher, your girlfriend was there to calm you down, at least, she was going to try to.
The snarl you let out is absolutely feral as you push yourself up off the ground, your uniform literally strained green from all the time you’ve spent on the turf in just the first half of the game.
In goal, your girlfriend, Alyssa Naeher’s, eyes widen.
“Please don’t kill her. Please don’t kill her.” She mumbles over and over again as you move to your feet, dusting yourself off and getting back into the game, it’s only moments later that you’re down again.
“COME ON REF!” You literally scream, the woman paying you no mind as Kelley walks over, pulling you to your feet.
“It’s alright, I know you’re pissed, I am too, but murder unfortunately is illegal.” She pats your back and you nod, chuckling as you dart back down field.
Thankfully, for you, you’re literally moments from the end of the first half, but of course, before the whistle blows you’re again down flat on your back, courtesy of a hand on the back of your shirt pulling you to the ground.
You cover your face with your hands when the player doesn’t get a card, or even spoken to.
“COME THE FUCK ON.” You shout angrily, jumping to your feet as you stomp towards the ref, absolutely seething.
You’re so angry you didn’t even realize that the first half had ended, but you quickly do when a familiar pair of arms wrap around you from behind, the persons gloved hands giving them away.
“Alyssa...” You growl, the woman only shaking her head as she lifts you up, carrying you to the locker room.
“No Y/N.” She says simply, but she can’t stop you’re snarking as she basically drags you to the locker room.
“Ey ref! Did you forget your contacts today!?” You yell, the woman turning your way with a glare.
“WHOA!” You gasp, when Alyssa literally throws you over her shoulder.
“Come on let me at least-
“No.”
“But-
“No.”
***
Your teammates can hear you before they can see you, hearing your angry snarking and screaming as Alyssa carries you into the locker room.
“Damn it, let me kill someone.” You snarl, as Alyssa eventually puts you down on a nearby bench, dropping down behind you and wrapping her arms around you from behind.
“It’s okay.” She whispers, tilting her head down to press a kiss to the top of your head, her arms slipping around you.
“I know you’re mad Y/N.” Vlatko says, pointing towards you and you snarl in response, Alyssa’s chin resting on the top of your head.
“Because the ref needs fucking glasses.” You sneer, Tobin letting out a snort from where she’s sitting, Christen’s arms around her much like Alyssa’s are around you.
You let out a sigh when Alyssa’s chin moves to rest on your shoulder, the woman turning her head to nuzzle into your neck.
“You owe me cuddles tonight.” You mumble under your breath and Alyssa grins.
“You got it.”
***
If having two angry players on the field was bad, then having three was absolutely terrible.
“Fucking pulling Tobin’s hair and she doesn’t get carded.” You snarl, Kelley nodding, lip curled in a snarl as you get ready in the box, waiting for Tobin’s corner.
You rub your hands together, eyes narrowed as you wait for Tobin to fire the ball into the box, unfortunately, it doesn’t get far before it’s knocked out of the box by one of the England players.
It wasn’t until the 53rd minute that Christen Press got a shot in on goal, the stadium erupting as you and your teammates celebrated.
Les then two minutes later, another goal, courtesy of the veteran Carli Lloyd.
The USWNT had come back, and they were out for blood.
Unfortunately, Tobin is subbed off in the 70th minute, the only two spicy players left on the field being you and Kelley.
Luckily for Kelley, the England player who was on her stopped with the illegal tackles, meaning Kelley was eating turf less often, but that wasn’t the same case for you.
“GODDAMN IT!” You scream, absolutely livid as again you’re knocked onto the turf.
You punch the turf before moving back to your feet.
“START CALLING FOULS.” You scream across the field at the ref, who is far too busy not paying attention to hear anything you’d said.
“If this game doesn’t end soon, Y/N is going to put someone in the hospital...” Tobin whispers to Christen on the bench, the two nodding.
In goal, Alyssa is nervous, not about the game, no, but about the fact that her incredibly angry girlfriend is near moments from spilling English blood.
The end of the match creeps closer and closer, something you’re relieved about, but when you go down in the 90th minute, you absolutely snap.
The second you’re knocked down again, you spring back up and run angrily towards the player who’d been fouling you all game.
“Oh...” Tobin starts on the bench, eyes wide.
“Shit.” Alyssa says, watching as the second you get to the player you give her a hard shove, something that surprisingly doesn’t knock her off her feet, the ball trapped beneath her.
The woman rolls over glaring at you and you smirk.
“How’s it feel to be the one eating the fucking turf?” You sneer, rolling your eyes when you see the ref coming towards you, card in hand.
“Where were you for the last 90 minutes when she was shoving me around?” You scoff, swaggering off, your girlfriend shaking her head.
“Hey at least she literally didn’t murder her.” Ashlyn shrugs and Ali snorts.
“True.”
The game thankfully ends shortly after, and before you can even start shaking hands you feel a pair of arms slip around you from behind.
“Lyssss...” You whine, tilting your head back so you can look up at her. “You really think I’m going to kill someone?” You pout, Megan snorting as she walks by.
“Yes.”
You growl, lip curling in a snarl when the player you’d shoved walks towards you, shaking Alyssa’s hand but not yours.
“Yeah, well you can suck my dick!” You yell, Kelley snorting loudly from where she’s standing.
Alyssa shakes her head.
“If you don’t play nice, we won’t snuggle when we get back to the hotel.” She sighs and your eyes widen as you abruptly look up, the woman looking down at you with an arched brow and a impassive face.
“Oh man...” You whine, shoulders hunching.
Alyssa smiles as your bottom lip juts out, the woman ducking down to kiss the top of your head.
“Fine, I’ll play nice... But I’m not responsible for what happens if they’re shitty to me first.”
Just as the words leave your mouth you catch the English player’s gaze, the woman glaring in your direction.
“Bitch.” You grumble Alyssa shaking her head.
“No Y/N.” She whispers and you growl, when the English player rolls her eyes.
“Yes Y/N.”
Alyssa shrugs.
“No cuddles then.”
You go silent, your bottom lip trembling.
“Fine, I won’t kill her... I guess.”
Alyssa turns you around in her arms, leaning down to press a soft kiss to your lips, a kiss that makes your cheeks flush.
“Good.”
