#Tl;dr: I really liked the Archon quest but that’s not an invitation for you to be toxic

31. Is there anything that counts as a “dealbreaker” for them, positively or negatively? What makes things go smoothly, and what spoils an activity or ruins their day? Why?
Character Dev Questions | no longer accepting
I've been turning this TCG line over in my head for a few weeks now:
Wriothesley: Evidently, accepting your challenge despite being unprepared wasn't a particularly wise move…
I think it's interesting that when you invite Wriothesley to a friendly TCG match, he acts like he doesn't want to be there (versus the serious match, where he seems more interested), and blames his loss on knowing he was unprepared but accepting anyway.
Contrasting this line, which he says when you lose a serious match against him:
Wriothesley: Looks like I came better prepared than you did. How did I prepare? Well, I read the rules, of course, then looked back on some of my previous duels... Why, what did you think I was going to say?
Even though these are lines for the TCG, I do think they reflect Wriothesley's character more broadly, too. This isn't the only time we see him touting preparedness. He gets pretty cocky during his "negotiation" with Lyney in the Archon quest, too, because he knows he holds all the cards and he's on his home turf. The deal didn't turn out entirely in his favor, but he still got something out of it in the end. I think this also explains the difference in his attitude in a friendly TCG match versus a serious one. We can assume the friendly match is a spur-of-the-moment thing, where the Traveler just pops the question out of the blue and Wriothesley accepts, and the serious one has a longer lead-up to give both contestants more time to get their decks in order.
Because when you win your match against him in a serious duel, he's much more complimentary:
Wriothesley: A textbook victory, assuming there was no cheating involved. Although to be fair, even if there were, it would still count… as long as you didn't get caught, that is.
This leads me to believe that Wriothesley really doesn't like being unprepared. Winning and losing doesn't matter to him (and neither does cheating) as much as whether or not he was ready to face the challenge at all. And all of that is just another facet of his surprisingly careful and conscientious character (we love swerving tropes in this house).
So tl;dr: Is there anything that counts as a “dealbreaker” for them, positively or negatively? Preparedness for sure. He will likely turn down any situation he doesn't feel ready to tackle. This is probably the trait to which he owes his survival in the Fortress.

I know a lot of people have made their critiques of the Inazuma chapter and while I agree with most of them, I still wanna make my own
So spoilers below lmao
I liked this chapter a lot story wise
I said it, I enjoyed the Inazuma story
I’ll admit, it was not written to its fullest potential, but I’ve seen much worse. I’m a Traveler main and an avid maladaptive daydreamer so I’m constantly seeing things through the eyes of Aether and putting myself in his shoes as I watch the story progress
And that’s how I went into this overall quest
I didn’t know Signora’s identity as the Crimson Witch before her battle, I would have never suspected Scaramouche to be a literal clone of Ei’s (I suspected he was her son, remember?). I laughed when everyone laughed, I got furious when Aether was furious, I was shook to my core in fear while walking out of Tenshukaku and I got a boost of adrenaline going into the second Ei fight with Kazuha and Teppei by my side
I still get chills thinking about Signora’s final moments and how startling it all was
And it didn’t feel rushed to me. Never. Not at one point.
Did plot holes exist? I mean yeah I guess, but at the same time, we were unconscious for an unknown amount of time after Scaramouche Scaramouched us and we as the traveler weren’t as invested in every little bit of info we came across (which is hilarious to me)
I walked through this quest with the jadedness of the traveler after coming so close to finding their sibling but then they were pulled away and I left with newfound determination to find them
And Ei’s story quest was so sweet too. I thought the large difference between her and the Shogun puppet was well executed (in my humble opinion) and the little bits of her never having Mora and not knowing what a photo was adorable. It was obvious that she was a different person now that she was tuning back in to the real world
Does that make me a bad player for acknowledging the good parts of this chapter? I hope not
Should I never write again because I obviously can’t recognize a poorly written plot? Idk 🤷‍♂️
I still recognize that there are some holes in the story and that everyone seems to think it was rushed, I really do, but I had a lot of fun nonetheless.
9/10 would absolutely play again for the story
AND THE VISUALS OH MY GODS THE VISUALS
Each cutscene was so beautiful, I could make an entire other post about that!
But I’m losing my train of thought, so I’ll just wrap this up:
How you feel about the Inazuma Archon Quest is up to you and only you. If you liked it, nice! So did I! If you didn’t, I understand.
But please don’t shit on others for having either opinion. MiHoYo is working around the clock to make content for all you rabid fans and some of y’all just cannot be satisfied. Don’t make that our problem because your favorite character didn’t have enough screentime or you found some of the quests to be cheesy
Despite all of us having different experiences with Genshin, we’re all playing the same game.
Anyways, I’ll catch y’all on the flip side

hiiiii i was just wondering why chilumi is so popular? like why not childe x aether? i also thought the twins were minors T-T
hm, im not sure tbh. i think its because people have different headcannons for each twin (ex. lumine is kinda more aggressive angy gf type, aether is more soft boi yk?) so people like that dynamic of angy gf lumine + dumbass bf childe more? thats a possibility.
personally i ship chilumi bc i find comfort in the ship since it reminds me of me and my bf to some extent (we’re both competitive, he’ll take up whatever challenge i throw at him with no regard to his safety whatsoever, he’s much taller than me, etc)
as for the minor thing i’m gonna talk more under the cut bc it’s a lot but tl;dr: i dont hc lumine and aether as minors but if you do thats completely fine!! theres different reasons everyone has these headcannons so lets just respect everyones hcs and opinions!! :)
because of the lore behind the twins, i dont see them as minors. they travel from world to world and have seen the birth of stars so they’ve got to be at least hundreds of years old
a lot of people like to argue that the twins are minors because kaeya says something about us not being allowed to drink but there are so many lines that contradict this
zhongli has a voiceline abt us getting drunk with venti
zhongli also literally has alcohol with us in the liyue archon quest
childe has a voiceline abt us getting a drink with him and zhongli
during the windblume festival theres a dialogue option where the traveler expresses how theyre tired like a “not this again” type of thing when someone tells us we’ll get a nonalcoholic drink
also doesnt kaeya invite us for a drink during the windblume festival (i could be wrong i havent finished it yet)
also diona calls us an adult in one of her voicelines and we say “welcome to the adult world” to one of the liyue kids in a commission
people also like to argue that lumines english va said that lumines “physical age” is 16 but her real age is unknown. my question to this is: what is physical age? is it just the way she looks? because technically if lumine’s “real age” is unknown then wouldn’t her “physical age” also be unknown? if lumine/aether are just short and look young then that still doesnt make them a minor. many of my friends are short and look like teenagers, does that make them minors? also lumine’s va isnt a writer for mihoyo shes just a voice actor so she wouldnt really know tbh so i would say take her words with a grain of salt
so honestly i dont think the twins are minors. but if you headcannon them as that because you’re a minor or for any other reason then thats completely valid!!
also thats why i dont really like shipping the twins with younger characters such as chongyun, barbara, razor, noelle, bennet, etc
