How to Properly Care for Your New Glasses
Tumblr media
Introduction
Embarking on the journey of caring for your new glasses is crucial to ensure their longevity and maintain optimal vision. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the nuances of caring for your eyewear, providing insights and tips that go beyond the ordinary.
The Importance of Proper Care
Your glasses are more than just a visual aid; they're an investment in your daily comfort and clarity. Proper care not only ensures their durability but also guarantees a clear vision, free from smudges and scratches.
Choosing the Right Cleaning Materials
To maintain the pristine condition of your glasses, start by choosing the right cleaning materials. Microfiber cloths and lens cleaning solutions specifically designed for eyewear are your best allies in the battle against dirt and grime.
Cleaning Your Glasses Effectively
Gently wipe your glasses in a circular motion, paying extra attention to the nose pads and hinges. Avoid using excessive force, as it may damage the lenses or frame. Regular, gentle cleaning is the key to crystal-clear vision.
Storing Your Glasses Safely
When not in use, always store your glasses in a protective case. This shields them from potential scratches and prevents accidents that could lead to misalignment or breakage.
Handling Your Glasses with Care
Handle your glasses with clean, dry hands. Avoid placing them face down, as this exposes the lenses to potential scratches. Additionally, refrain from using your shirttail to clean them—opt for the proper materials.
Avoiding Common Mistakes
One common mistake is using regular household cleaners, which may contain harsh chemicals detrimental to lens coatings. Stick to recommended cleaning solutions to protect both your lenses and your eyes.
When and How to Adjust Your Glasses
Regularly check for any discomfort or slippage. If needed, make minor adjustments by gently bending the temples. For major adjustments, consult your optician to avoid causing damage.
Dealing with Scratches
Despite precautions, scratches can occur. If minor, try toothpaste or baking soda as a gentle abrasive. For deeper scratches, seek professional advice.
Protecting Your Glasses from the Elements
Rain, heat, and dust can pose challenges. Use lens coatings for added protection and always shield your glasses during adverse weather conditions.
Knowing When to Replace Your Glasses
If you notice a decline in vision despite proper care, it might be time for a new prescription. Regular eye check-ups ensure your glasses always complement your visual needs.
How to Properly Care for Your New Glasses: A Step-by-Step Guide
Start with the Right Cleaning Materials Begin by gathering a microfiber cloth and specialized lens cleaning solution.
Inspect Your Glasses Examine your glasses for any loose screws, misalignments, or scratches.
Gentle Cleaning Motion Using the microfiber cloth, clean the lenses in a circular motion, paying attention to edges and corners.
Nose Pads and Hinges Ensure thorough cleaning around nose pads and hinges, where dirt tends to accumulate.
Storing in a Protective Case When not in use, place your glasses in a sturdy case to prevent damage.
Handle with Care Always handle your glasses with clean, dry hands, avoiding unnecessary pressure on the lenses.
Avoid Face-Down Placement Never place your glasses face down to prevent scratches on the lenses.
Regular Adjustment Checks Periodically check for any discomfort or misalignment, making minor adjustments if necessary.
Dealing with Scratches For minor scratches, try toothpaste or baking soda. Seek professional help for deeper scratches.
Weather Protection Shield your glasses during rain or extreme heat to maintain their quality.
Regular Eye Check-ups Schedule regular eye check-ups to ensure your prescription is up-to-date.
FAQs about Caring for Your Glasses
Can I clean my glasses with regular household cleaners?
It's advisable to stick to specialized lens cleaning solutions, as household cleaners may contain harsh chemicals that can damage lens coatings.
How often should I clean my glasses?
Cleaning your glasses daily with a microfiber cloth and lens solution helps maintain clarity and prevents the buildup of dirt.
Is it okay to use tissues or paper towels to clean my glasses?
Avoid using tissues or paper towels, as they can leave behind fibers that may scratch your lenses. Stick to microfiber cloths for optimal cleaning.
Can I wear my glasses while cooking or near heat sources?
It's best to avoid wearing glasses near intense heat sources, as this can damage coatings and affect the frame. Consider protective eyewear in such situations.
What should I do if my glasses get wet in the rain?
Use a dry, clean cloth to gently wipe off any water droplets. Avoid using clothing, as it may contain abrasive particles.
Can I adjust my glasses at home?
Minor adjustments, like gently bending the temples, can be done at home. However, for major adjustments, consult your optician to prevent damage.
Conclusion
Caring for your new glasses is an essential aspect of maintaining both their longevity and the clarity of your vision. By following these guidelines, you not only ensure the durability of your eyewear but also contribute to a consistently clear and comfortable visual experience.

all i can just think of are fluffy hobie headcanons w reader who has glasses 🗣️🗣️🗣️ like they would be making out and hobie would be complaining about reader's glasses just keeps knocking on his face (definitely did not think of this because i wear glasses)
— okay as a fellow glasses wearer, i loved this idea sooo much (// ^ ^ //) ♥︎
Tumblr media
hobie thinks your glasses are adorable. he has these moments when he’s admiring you and noticing the tiniest details. his favorite one is when your glasses slowly slip to the tip of your nose and you huff in annoyance— pushing them back up. hobie thought it was funny, but he came to find himself adjusting them for you.
with delicate fingers, hobie pushes up your glasses by the hinges until they perfectly frame your face— softly brushing a knuckle over your cheek as a way to ease your irritation.
“wha’ me to get you some goggles instead?” hobie quipped under his breath, brushing your hair behind your ears.
you simply rolled your eyes with a cheesed smile, to which hobie would playfully pinch your cheek as you continue to work.
blessed with perfect vision, hobie had no concept on what it’s like to be forced to wear glasses.
“how many fingers am i holdin’ up?” he would extend three fingers in front of your face, dragging his arm in different directions and distances.
when you tell him that’s not how it works, hobie would simply shrug his shoulders with a lazy smirk.
“wrong. the answer ‘s two.” he would obnoxiously bend his ring finger and wave it on your heated face— earning him a smack to the chest.
and yes, making out with your glasses really gets on hobie’s nerves.
a soft sigh would spill from your lips as hobie grazes his teeth along your neck— his mouth coming back to slot themselves back into its place. he leans in for another kiss and immediately comes contact with the foggy lens of your glasses.
“for fuck’s sake.” he hisses in exasperation, snatching them off your face but still being mindful not to touch your lens, he tossed them on the nearest soft surface.
before you could whine about him handling your glasses like a madman, hobie cups your cheeks and briskly pressed his lips against yours— knocking all the wind out of your lungs. you nearly tipped over by his desperate advancement until hobie wraps a firm grasp around your waist, pulling you closer with a satisfied hum.
“y’know nothin’ can keep me away from you.” he would breathe out in between heated pecks.
but sometimes, hobie doesn’t know the extent to his own strength.
“‘s just a dent babe…” hobie would look apologetic when you patch the temple with lousy tape— your pout making him feel guilty.
he nervously grasped the lenses from your hands and placed them on your face. cringing at the way the lenses slowly tilted to the side as a deep frown settled onto your face.
“see your specs still look… fine.”
don’t worry, he got you a new pair afterwards.

u ask for shy!reader here i come holding a request
shy reader who is used to ppl telling them they look better without glasses, only for steve to find out they actually do very much need them, especially to read
so steve finally encourages them to wear them more and make sure to tell them how cute they look with them
hi, angel! thanks for ur request! fellow glasses-wearers rise! (1.4k)
Six months, five days, and twelve hours — that’s how long Steve’s been your boyfriend. Not that he’s counting, of course. It takes him the same amount of time to find out that you wear glasses.
He always knew your vision wasn’t the greatest. You complained about it from time to time — the headaches and the blurriness — but he never thought it was bad because you never made a big deal about it. He figured it was more existential than urgent, the idea that you might need glasses in the future if your eyes ever worsened.
He didn’t know they were already worse.
It’s your first movie night together — “the first of many,” Steve lilted when he sat down on the couch beside you, with a bowl of popcorn in his hand and a kiss on your cheek. He liked the idea of that, of having a tradition with you. He liked knowing that a section of his busy week could be carved out just for the both of you.
And it’s not like you’ve never watched a movie together before. It’s just that usually, there are about five teenagers sandwiched between the two of you, not including Robin and Nancy.
The former always insists on sitting on Steve’s left and only occasionally sharing her popcorn. The latter sits next to you and, halfway through the film, has already managed to convince you to leave with her and do something more fun.
But now, at eight o’clock, tucked tenderly away in your apartment, it’s just the two of you.
And your terrible, terrible eyesight.
A quarter of the way through Beetlejuice, Steve catches you squinting at the television across the room.
You’re all wrapped up in his arms, lying on your sides on the small couch. Steve keeps you pressed against him to stop you from falling off the edge of it. One of his arms curls around your stomach and the other is balled into a fist to prop up his head.
He looks down at you, already smiling, and with a “Be honest, would you fuck Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice?” on the tip of his tongue. It fades when he notices your eyes are halfway closed.
For a second, he thinks you might be falling asleep. He can tell by your scrunched nose and quirked mouth that it’s something else entirely.
His hand squeezes your hip to get your attention. “Babe? You okay?”
“Huh?” you hum as you turn to him. The furrow between your brows dissipates when your eyes open to their fullest again.
“You’re squinting.”
Your mouth falls softly agape, as though in slight surprise.
You hadn’t noticed it, really. You hardly ever do, but it’s been happening a lot more recently.
Just a week ago, Nancy pointed out how closely you held her newspaper to your face while trying to read it. After that, Dustin had been trying to show you a new VHS at Family Video but had to come about ten steps closer for you to see what it was.
“Oh. I didn’t realize…”
“Do you have a headache?” Steve asks, bushy brows pinched in concern. “Do you wanna turn the movie off?”
You shake your head against the pillow. “No. It’s fine.”
“Is it your eyes again? Can you see—”
“Yes, Steve,” you interject, laughing gently. “I can see the screen.”
“What’s the time say, then?”
“I can see,” you argue in a non-answer.
“Humor me.”
You huff. Then squint again.
The red numbers below the TV stand are mush. Your eyes try hopelessly to focus on them. With what you lack in eyesight, you make up for with confidence. “Nine… Thirty-six…” you answer with a nonchalant shrug.
Steve sputters out a laugh that fans against your cheek. He shakes his head in pity. “Babe…”
“What?”
“That’s not even close! It’s eight-fifty-five!” he chuckles with a pink smile and sparkling honey eyes.
You roll your eyes at him in response. He leans down to kiss your cheek when you turn away from him again.
“You gotta make an appointment to get your eyes checked, babe. You can’t just go through life not being able to see anything—”
“I have glasses,” you mumble.
“What? Since when?”
“I don’t know. Since, like, middle school,” you shrug. “I just don’t wear them.”
Steve, halfway offended, gapes at you in response. “…Why didn’t I know about this?”
“’Cause I don’t like wearing them. They make my eyes look funny. I hate it.”
“Where are they?”
“In my bedroom—” you answer absentmindedly, then whine when he starts to get up. “Steve, don’t! I’m comfortable!”
“I’ll be right back,” the boy promises.
He shoves the covers down and climbs over your legs to get off the couch. He presses another kiss to your cheeks before he goes, like he can’t stand the idea of not kissing you every chance he gets.
He finds your glasses in a thin leather case in your desk drawer. They’re simple, rounded things — rimmed with silver and pretty in their minimalism. He rushes them back to you with a boyish excitement fluttering like a butterfly in his chest.
No one’s ever been this thrilled to see someone in a pair of glasses.
He beams at you when he hurries back into the living room.
You’ve already sat up against the back of the couch, not nearly as comfortable without Steve holding you. Your knees are brought up to your chest, the knitted blanket through over them and bunched at your lap. You meet his grin with a childlike scowl.
“Here. Put ‘em on,” he says, motioning the glasses to you.
“No,” you whine, flopping your head back against the couch.
“Don’t be so dramatic,” Steve laughs. “They’re just glasses.”
“I don’t like them!”
“Why?”
“‘Cause they make me look weird!”
“I don’t believe that.”
“Well, ask everyone who’s ever seen me in them,” you retort, halfway pouting. “I got made fun of for, like, six years when I wore them to school. Everyone called me Turtle until I graduated.”
A grin pulls at Steve’s lips. “Turtle?”
You nod shyly, looking at him through your lashes and trying not to smile back. “Yeah. ‘Cause I looked like Toby Turtle from Robin Hood—”
Steve doesn’t mean to laugh. It just sort of comes out. A big, boyish, hearty chuckle sputters from his mouth before he can stop it.
“Don’t laugh!” you scold, giggling alongside him.
“Well, now you have to put them on.”
Steve inches toward you with the glasses in hand. You don’t protest when he slips the sides over your ears and uses the knuckle of his forefinger to push them up the bridge of your nose.
He steps back to admire you with a grin. Your girlish pout has returned to you, but it doesn’t look nearly as intimidating when you’re blinking up at him with unusually large eyes.
He shakes his head down at you. “You’re the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen, you know that?”
“Don’t lie,” you grouse. “I look like a bug.”
“Correction: the cutest bug.”
He laughs when it makes you glower.
He steps to the side and points to the clock again. “Can you see the time now?”
You look at it, then back to him. “Yeah… ’S Time for you to go home,” you deadpan.
“When’d you get so mean?” Steve lilt, beaming at you as he settles on the couch again.
The two of you absentmindedly crawl back into your original positions. He lounges behind you and clutches you to his chest again. “You used to be so nice, Toby Turtle—”
“Don’t,” you protest, halfway smiling despite the glare you give him. You look almost owlish behind the thick lenses. "It's not funny."
“I’m just kidding, babe,” he promises. He sprinkles kisses to your face and laughs into each one. “I love them. I swear.”
“I’m glad someone does,” you murmur.
Steve pulls back with a grin, toeing the line between sincerity and mischief. “I’ll show how much I like ‘em later,” he teases quietly, squeezing the outside of your thigh where his hand rests. “I have a feeling I’m gonna have a lot of fun with these tonight.”
Your face heats at his words. Your nose scrunches, feigning disgust as you push him away.
“Perv,” you mumble, crossing your arms over your chest and turning so your back is pressed against him again.
“I thought Toby Turtle was supposed to be nice—”
“Steve!”

A new beauty routine I’ve recently invested in is getting my nails done at a salon.
I haven’t seen a lot of people discuss the esoteric significance of doing your nails more intentionally. Onychomancy is a divination tool that explains how a person’s nails signify energies that one intends to attract more of in their life. Essentially, the shape, health condition of a person’s nails as well as how it’s colored and/or designed carries messages from each person’s psyche and divine source(s). Once i’ve learned of this magick, doing my nails have helped me to become more aware of the energies that i need to embody more and which for me to release.
I thought it’ll be cool to analyze the inspiration behind my new set and discover what it is that i’m trying to manifest with them. 🎀🤍
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what my new set looks like !
At first glance it’s pretty apparent that i’m going for a wintery snow vibe overall. Perfect for the colder January - early February days. Aesthetically, i was most inspired by:
clean, crisp, winter days when the branches turn to icicles.
The look of glaciers and ice during sunny mornings which in some shade turns everything white to a gorgeous translucent blue.
The waif-like elegance of figure skaters. Especially, the way a body could be disciplined to move, bend, and twirl on harsh and frozen surface.
The icy and delicate femininity of an “ice princess” appearance.
The catch however, is in my choice of coffin tips which is where onychomancy reveals the true inspiration and intention behind it.
Tumblr media
🧊Grace Kelly in Rear Window (1954)
“She’s not cold. She’s a volcano covered in snow”
This quote from Alfred Hitchcock summed up the energetic essence of my nails. When Hitchcock was asked about his distinctly cool, blonde female leads, he disagreed with the consensus that she was merely icy and sterile or submissive. Instead, underneath the cool mask burns simmering passion and emotional complexity. Despite the calming or icy effect of the designs (depending on how you perceive them), coffin shaped nails according to onychomancy, corresponds to fire. I’m personally aiming to activate my tropical chart’s water houses 4,8, and 12, aka houses of things hidden and the subconscious. These houses in my chart are ruled by the fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius).
This set is less about manifesting an outcome and more focused on embodying a persona. In the book Hitchcock/Truffaut, Grace Kelly recurring presence on his films was described as a paradox between the inner fire and the cold surface: “she is sensitive, disciplined, and very sexy”. Such duality makes Grace and other women sharing similar roles on screen a compelling and mysterious force of art.
Tumblr media
🪞Kim Novak in Vertigo (1958)
So my current nails shows rather than tells about the wearer. In a book of Onychomancy, it states how glass tips are like windows. A purely transparent set express full candor yet if it is embellished, the wearer may enjoy a bit of poetic license in its revelation. This is for someone who says “please look. but don’t touch”. I like how the book also states the support glass tips provide for setting boundaries and discernment which is something i’m trying to incorporate in the otherwise explosive self-expression of my inner truth. When I do express my emotions outward, I’m reminded that not everyone deserves to know this side of me. Color wise, my set can be placed in the light blue category. Based on color psychology this shade of blue symbolise patience, peace, and calmness. I view this color as Saturnian in nature. Because boundaries + coolness vibrates with Saturn.
A person whose fire elements is in her hidden houses posess a lot of passion and energy within a calm surface. There’s a tendency to hide this side of myself out of shame. I was made to feel that this authentic side of me was too much even frightening, thus not meant to be seen. I think my set wants me to feel safe expressing more of my fiery creative side by being assured that I’ll naturally remain “cool-headed” while doing so. I’m encourage by the intensity of my emotions and expressing my passions unapologetically without the fear of losing my mind. The addition of a 3D snowflake heart on my mars fingers (thumbnails) represents heart-centered willpower. Even if she’s a little cold, she’s not without life.
I find the women of Hitchcock thrillers act as invitations to explore the hidden inhibitions of his protagonist. If they aren’t capable of maintaining a healthy sense of mind, they’d lost it in the pursuit of her mysterious secret inner world. I think her independence, range, poise, and determination is something I like to embody more of recently💋.
Tumblr media
*I don’t claim invention or expertise of onychomancy. For more depth on the subject you can check @/occult nails and @/taibunnii on Twitter.
*Ki Lunula books such as : “The Ancient Art of Onychomancy” and/or “Explorations in Onychomancy”are great sources of knowledge on this subject.

ms. lolly i'm getting glasses and i'm afraid i'm going to look uglier than usual in them. i don't want people to make fun of me (esp. not the guy i like. i dont think he will bc he's sweet but im still anxious) but. i'm afraid that people are gonna tease me. idk what to do and im super nervous bc i'm not attractive and i think the glasses are gonna just bring that out. do u have any tips on getting over that, as a glasses-wearer? (at least im assuming by your pfp)
sorry to disturb u with my silly ask but i hope u have a great day <3 love ur writing and huntlow posts
Hello! This kind of thing is hard to give advice on but I'll try my best :D! It's kinda like asking what kind of clothes will make you feel the most confident when only you know for sure what makes you comfortable and what doesn't. But I can definitely give you my opinions on glasses and what I feel best in and maybe you can take it into consideration.
(EDIT: OH MY GOD. I wrote a good bit about choosing glasses to feel nice in but I just read the ask again and it's possible you've already gotten them. Just scroll down to the bottom of the ask and I'll talk a bit about that if it's the case.)
You worry about not liking the way you'll look with glasses. That's okay, I've been wearing them since I was little so I feel really ugly without them. It's fine to feel a little insecure. But hopefully you'll find a pair that you think you like nice in!!
For the first ten years of wearing glasses, I had really small, thin wiry ones. Blegh. No wonder I felt so ugly during that time. They were not it. Was looking like this bitch.
Tumblr media
But just cuz I didn't like the way they looked on me doesn't automatically mean you won't! Everyone's face is different.
Size matters (HAH) to me. I feel more happy and confident with the way my face looks with glasses depending on how big they are. I like how big glasses look. So when I was 18 I got THESE frames
Tumblr media
And I liked them a lot!! I decided I like big wide glasses. So any frames I got from this point forward would look kinda like this.
However!! I kinda regretted the colour. It's like having a big big blocky border around your face dulls it a bit. So when I got new ones a few years later, I wanted them to be lighter. To brighten up the face area. These ones!!
Tumblr media
They're pink!!! Or red maybe. But they're pink to ME!!! They are also EVEN BIGGER than the black pair I had. They're HUGE asgdbjnk. And I love them huge. The bigger the better. They're not really circular but they're also kinda roundish and I like that too.
So I guess think about the size, shape and colour. Would you like something more subtle like a small pair? Would you like them big and round? Getting them in a colour that you like Would definitely help!!
The thickness of the frames also matters. Maybe, since you're a little worried about how you'll look wearing them, you'd like something thinner? More subtle? Something in a pale colour/or without much of a border at all? Something that doesn't hide your face
Maybe something similar to this?
Tumblr media
(I mean the frame thickness, not the size ahsbdjnk. We don't know what size you'd like yet.)
I kinda want glasses that look like this. I want thin gold ones like Miss Willow Park from hit Disney channel show the Owb Houb. However I don't really have that option. I'm borderline blind so I need the thick plastic frames to hold the thick as fuck lenses ahsbdjnk.
But since this is your first pair your eyes probably aren't nearly as bad and you have way more options!!
OKAY!! So if you've already chosen your glasses and are still worried about how you're going to look in them.
Alright, there are never any easy answers to this problem. How to get over not liking the way you look. People definitely like to pretend it's easy, that "Love yourself! Everyone is beautiful! :)" are these magic words that will suddenly rewire our brains into being happy and content with ourselves after a lifetime of feeling like the odd one out. When some people are put on a pedestal for how they look and some are not. It's hard to say physical ugliness doesn't exist when it's been beaten into everyone's heads that it does.
Despite everyone's best efforts to dismantle the concept of beauty standards, they persist relentlessly. They're roots in our brains, roots in society, and they're roots made of iron. So it is nobody's fault for being unsatisfied with themselves even after trying for so long to forcibly inject some girlboss confidence into their bloodstream. Its hard. It will always be hard.
If self love isn't easy at the start, aim for self neutrality. Just not hating is a good place to start.
It seems like you're not comfortable with yourself without glasses, so maybe if we start with that, your face with glasses will be way easier to accept.
In the end, you only have the one face to get you through this lifetime. And it's a lifetime you will waste if you spend it wishing it was different.
Everyone's face is a rearrangement of facial features, none of which are inferior to anyone else's, no matter what we've been mentally trained to believe.
You're a masterpiece all on your own. Every feature on your face belonged to someone in your family who came before you. Every feature you have was once adored by someone else. Specifically because it was a feature that belonged to a very wonderful person.
One day there will be someone who loves you more than anything. They'll love you so much than when they see a face that even looks remotely like yours they'll think that it's beautiful.
If it helps, mess around with your appearance a little. What colours do you like? Patterns? Skirts? Button up shirts? Long hair? Short hair? Dyed hair? Cardigans? Jangly jewelry? Figure out what's the most beautiful to you and add them to yourself. If you don't like your face, drown it out with what you do like. Until it gets to the point where its so distinctly you that you couldn't imagine this whole look without your face attached to it.
If you get to that point where you can feel happy with how you look as your default, then sliding a pair of glasses on and off shouldn't make much of a difference.
Thank you for telling me you like my writing and my posts. You seem sweet. I'm sure that's what people think when they're reminded of you. I'm sure that's what the guy you mentioned thinks. How can a person really be ugly if you associate their face with warmth and kindness?
Stay kind to others. Be kind to yourself. There's not much else I can say.
Good luck, love <33

Halo [Union]
The amulet must have been beautiful, once. Union had snatched it on the way out of a crumbling cultist cave, having recognized Sarenrae’s silhouette even without its colour or sheen. Outside, it didn’t take him long to realize it was desecrated. Cupping it like a baby bird, he had smoothed his thumbs over it, hoping to reveal her face. There was no change, and a frigid vacuum where power and warmth should have been, made starker next to his own holy symbol.
Union would have argued that being tarnished didn’t take away something’s former beauty. Anything in Sarenrae’s likeness was, by virtue of what she embodied, lovely. Having her holy symbol restored seemed to encompass all that she was—redemption and healing, brought to its best through care and devotion.
The Killjoys were spinning a lot of plates, but taking the amulet to the Temple of Renewal didn’t feel like it would tip any. He made regular visits when they were in Vasselheim. He couldn’t forget their roots—small problems were still problems. One stone could become a landslide—a ripple, a wave.
Mosaics of the rising sun passed under his feet as he made his way down the main aisle. The Temple of Renewal was a bright temple, filled with high windows that streamed in natural light. Stained glass and tapestries added colour and depicted her history—wine reds, golds, and whites.
He came to rest at the foot of her statue. Like when he’d regenerated his eye, he’d brought a small bowl topped with holy water. He knelt, dropping the trinket in. After letting it soak a moment, he fished it out by its chain and tried rubbing again with a cloth. The metal remained unaffected.
He curled his hands around it and pressed it to his chest, resting against his own holy symbol, his heart above his heart. He would try a remove curse, but first, a regular prayer.
“I found this amulet in a den of Asmodeus worshippers,” he said. “I would restore it, for he should never have the opportunity to hurt you again. He’ll never, as long as any follower of yours or I live, be able to extinguish your light.”
Their once-humble group was approaching a strength that could rival Asmodeus in a fight. Not individually, but as one. Even when Union had been briefly embittered towards godhood and lost his eye, he had never thought himself above or on par with them.
Reflecting, he didn’t know if it was a power he deserved, but it wasn’t one he’d take for granted. He had always promised to do good, and this was an extension of that. He didn’t just fight Asmodeus because he was vile and could use a good thwarting—he fought him for Sylus, and on behalf of everyone who couldn’t.
He prayed for protection, courage, and the same resolve that had moored him up until them. There would never not be evil—he was optimistic, not gullible—and he would be there to meet it every time.
He traced the sigil for the spell midair with one hand, still clutching the amulet in the other. He held it for longer than he needed to, six seconds tipping into a minute, almost worried to check that it had worked. If he couldn’t fix this, what chance did they have against Asmodeus?
He peeled open his eyes and looked. Its shine had returned, and in it, a kindling, ready for a new wearer. He sighed, shoulders relaxing.
A second pair of hands entered his vision, folding over his own. He glanced up, expecting another one of the clergy—but the temple had emptied, and standing above him was Sarenrae, stepped down from the plinth.
It wasn’t like Union hadn’t spoken with or basked in her presence before, but every time felt like the first—like he was experiencing sunlight after spending an eternity underground.
Everything about her had the inviting quality of a fireplace—warm brown skin and aurulent eyes so bright they were almost white, the core of any candle. She wore a magnificent halo of fire and radiant, flaming hair poured to the back of her legs. A pair of pearly feathered wings were tucked against her back, matching a simple but elegant dress that flowed all the way to the stones. He wasn’t sure that her feet were touching the floor, but she had a groundedness to her. Where Pelor blinded and awed, she was homey, a goddess you could curl up beside.
She smiled kindly. “Hello, Union.”
Union bowed his head, still kneeling. “Everlight.”
Holding his hands, she gently pulled him to his feet. She stood taller than him, though not half as large as her statue, taking on a more modest, humanoid size.
She turned over his hands, palms up, opening them to reveal the holy symbol. “Thank you for bringing this here.”
“Of course; I had to.”
“I heard your prayer. The more you grow, the easier it is for me to reach you. You asked for strength to defeat Asmodeus—truthfully, you have everything you need. Nevertheless, I would be honoured to help.”
She closed his hands around the amulet, hers woven overtop. Rays of light flared out from between their overlapping fingers. His palms warmed and the feeling spilled up his arms and washed through his entire body.
Separating their hands, the amulet had been sculpted anew. Two hands framed layered glass petals that curled into the Dawnflower. They looked as delicate and iridescent as dragonfly wings, but when he tapped it with a nail, he knew they were as resilient as diamonds.
“Allow me.” She lifted the necklace by its cord. He dropped his chin and she looped it over. It settled, like before, against his breast.
He marvelled at it, its latent magic already crackling and reaching out to join with him. “What will it do?”
“It will make your spells more potent, and allow you access to your divine powers more often.”
“How can I repay you?”
“You already have, many times over, and you exalt me by fighting against him. It’s not a coincidence that you share Asmodeus’ blood—it’s not unlike fate every time one his distant children find their way to me. You’re resistant to his fire and receptive to mine.”
She pressed her fingers atop his amulet. “It can be difficult to preserve one’s faith the more trials you endure, and gods know you’ve endured them. Every malevolent act is a test, but you’ve never wavered. I’m proud of you, Union. I would advise you to use it wisely, but I trust you will.”
Union sniffed, misty-eyed. “Thank you, Everlight.”
She nodded, once. Her smile bloomed into a grin. “And congratulations on your engagement.”
Union gave a pleased flush, shuffling on his feet. “Oh, thank you.”
“You and Twill will be happy together. Have you thought of hosting your wedding here?”
“It may be a joint ceremony with the Wildmother, but we’ve considered it, of course.”
She chuckled—the sound resonated. “Good.” She bent to kiss his forehead. “Go forth.”

How does Jim react to his Atomix form?
He absolutely did not expect turning into Atomix at all. Whenever Jim transforms, he has this instinctive feeling about any new form. This ranges from an action or emotion. For example, when he turns into Eatle for the first time Jim had the urge to eat.
Atomix? Explosive power. As for when he unlocked this, I say Eternal Night 2 in the Canonverse. Jim was really anger after what happen to his canon counterpart and just snaps when Gunmar lays his hand on the Trollhunter.
Appearance wise, I say this is the first instance where Jim has an alien that looks very very much like his human self. The closest being the Trollhunter armor with a visorless helmet as the grooves, horn tips and large Omnitrix symbol on the chest bubble in a pure teal glass like canon Atomix.
Our boy did rough up Gunmar until Canon!Jim have him focus that rage on the Gumm-Gumm Troops. Like Ben's Atomix, this one is righteous in personality but is closer to that of a lethal protector. One reason why he keeps it as an ace.
You know the watch wearer is getting serious if he abouts to unload a Nuclear Winner on someone.

Falling stars, falling into places, falling thoughts
every star makes her mark
her legacy her last word her last wish
I can say so much to the stars in the sky
begging for a change for a new beginning a new wish to fulfill
I can say so much but never speak validation
whispers from the mirror don’t end my blind torture
it stings like a dagger hidden in a cloak, accidentally stabbing the wearer
have I worn the ring that tempts me to self contempt?
stringing down from my tower does my cascading blind hopes
offered to anyone who offers to climb them
but I am my own enemy, my own enemy in my own territory
who glorifies the other towers and castles
and wades in clandestine pools of muck and alligator tears and confusion and hate
my own anti-hero, trapped my own phantom in the mirror
I think but never do like stars who fell from the sky
they let go from their strings and met their beautiful fall, the eyes of Icarus
my thoughts do fall the same way they do like walking off the plank of captain hook’s ship
am I beautiful while I forsake my Eden and end up in my eternal resting place, Earth? have I mounted my grave and infused the carvings with warning signs?
Loki’s torture and smoke signals fan in my chest
it’s like pressing the stop button but nothing is working and all systems shut down
no mechanic can fix except me but then again I am my own enemy
as I venture into the looking glass into a world of speakers
with all my whispers and personalities amplifying every volume of insult inside of me
immunity cannot be a threat when you’re vulnerability is a dagger
to your own heart of weaved webs and remedies
an old library who no one dares to read
my number is lying on the phone for everyone’s curiosity to call
merely passed by like phantoms and dead over the heads of the souls and the living
Can I retrieve, like a dog, a lost victory? A lost dignity?
like a falling star who dived too deep in her thoughts
What irony - millions of showers fall and fan out without knowing they are falling
so, am I missing? Am I faulty? So, am I falling? or am I just writing, thinking over the fill line
like stars that twinkle and brighten in the dead of night
what are they thinking, I wonder, from one falling star to another?
thanks for reading :)) wrote this just now!! Thank u for the love on my last poem; I appreciate it so much!!
btw does anyone got tips on writing in ur own language?? Because im used to writing in English, but I got chosen to write for the a section in my school newspaper that only uses my native language I don’t have a problem understanding it but my vocab could be better my word choice could be better and im stressing out about it :(

More Ways to Make Money: Get ready for new ways to cash in on your talent, like virtual events, selling your own stuff, and even online courses.
Small Stars, Big Impact: Creators with smaller but super engaged followings will become even more important for brands.
Tech Time! Expect fancy new tools like artificial intelligence to help creators make even cooler content and keep audiences hooked.
How Can You Join the Fun?
Got a hidden talent or burning passion? Here’s how to jump into the creator economy:
Find Your Thing: What are you amazing at? What can you teach others?
Pick Your Spot: Where do your fans hang out? YouTube, Instagram, or a blogging platform?
Make Awesome Stuff: Learn some basic editing skills and focus on creating valuable content your audience will love.
Don’t Stop! Building a following takes time. Keep creating and sharing to keep your fans engaged.
Team Up! Connect with other creators in your niche to learn, grow, and reach a wider audience.

Tips and tricks for glasses wearers who don't like wearing their glasses, but don't want contacts, and want to wear their glasses more (based off my own experience):
Make sure you actually Like the glasses you have or wanna get. Now I know most of us never buy glasses we actively dislike, but do extensive thinking into the style of glasses you want before you buy them, and what was wrong with your previous pair that meant you didn't like wearing them. E.g, I didn't like wearing my last glasses much because, while their shape was really cool, the frame was rose gold, which really blended in with my skin colour too much and made it seem strange from afar. This time, I made sure to get black frames.
Ensure you know your face shape, and try to accentuate it. In the end, this can be a stylistic choice based on parts of your face you want to emphasise more and others you wanna minimise, but I've found a general rule of thumb is just scaling your frames to the general shape and size of your face. E.g, I have a big rounded-square kind of face, and so I like wearing huge square frames with some rounding best. however, again, shape is highly dependant on what the WEARER likes most, and what you feel the best in. If you have a square face but really like circle glasses, go wild!!!
Glasses chains/ropes. When you wear them round your neck, they can be highly useful in reminding you that you have glasses and that you should wear them, and they help me more than just having my glasses case in front of me. They come in a lot of cute styles, and can be made of different materials like metals, rope, beads, etc. While people have told me they give me a grandma or even librarian vibe, they are never hostile or mean spirited about them, and I get a lot of compliments! They are both stylish, and very effective to me.
About Makeup. I really really enjoy wearing makeup, especially eye shadow looks, and I want to show off my hard work. This is why I make sure to always wear huge glasses, or at least ones that allow you to see my eyelids. I always have a problem with base makeup like concealer and foundation, where you can see a visible mark left by the frames when I take them off. While I haven't put it into practice yet due to my forgetfulness, my best advice would be to figure out where on your face your frames sit, and avoid putting the skin makeup there. You can shear it out around the area where your frames are too, to blend your bare skin more to your makeup.
Figure out clothing colours you generally wear, and make sure your glasses match. This is pretty explanatory, as if you have colourful frames, sometimes you may not like how they look with a certain colour you want to wear. Neutral frames safest bet, with black frames matching everything, but again this is also a matter of preference and what YOU think matches,
Now I know this is probably not very useful if you don't plan on getting new glasses soon or don't have an opticians appointment booked, but I'd thought I'd share these tricks I accumulated that got me to the glasses I have now which I adore.

New Glasses Care Tips: Maintaining Clear Vision with Proper Care
Tumblr media
Welcome to our comprehensive guide on new glasses care tips and eyewear maintenance. Your eyeglasses are not only a visual aid but also an important accessory. Proper care ensures they remain clear and functional, giving you optimal vision. Whether you're new to wearing glasses or a seasoned wearer, this guide will provide you with valuable insights on how to maintain your eyeglasses in top-notch condition.
Eyewear Maintenance Guide: Caring for Your Eyeglasses
Taking care of your eyeglasses is not just about aesthetics; it's about preserving their quality and extending their lifespan. By following a few simple steps, you can keep your glasses looking pristine and ensure your vision stays crystal clear.
Proper Glasses Care Routine
Creating a consistent glasses care routine is essential for maintaining their quality. Start by rinsing your glasses under lukewarm water to remove any dust or debris. Avoid using hot water, as it may damage coatings on the lenses. Then, apply a small amount of mild dish soap to the lenses and gently rub them with your fingers to remove oils and fingerprints. Rinse the glasses again under lukewarm water, and finally, gently pat them dry with a clean, soft microfiber cloth.
Lens Cleaning Instructions
Cleaning your eyeglass lenses properly is crucial for clear vision. Avoid using abrasive materials like tissues or rough fabrics, as they can scratch the lenses. Instead, use a microfiber cleaning cloth provided by your eyewear provider. If you're on the go, keep a small microfiber cloth in your bag for quick clean-ups.
Eyeglass Frame Maintenance
Caring for the frame is equally important. Regularly check for loose screws and gently tighten them with a small screwdriver if needed. Additionally, avoid placing your glasses face down, as it can cause scratches. Instead, store them in a protective case when not in use.
Taking Care of Your Spectacles: Dos and Don'ts
While caring for your eyeglasses, there are certain dos and don'ts you should keep in mind to ensure their longevity.
Dos:
Do use both hands: When putting on or taking off your glasses, use both hands to avoid uneven pressure on the frame.
Do use a proper cleaning solution: Use a lens cleaning solution recommended by your eyewear provider. Avoid using harsh chemicals or household cleaners.
Do store in a protective case: Always store your glasses in a sturdy case to protect them from accidental damage.
Do clean the case: Regularly clean the inside of your eyeglass case to prevent dirt buildup.
Don'ts:
Don't use your shirt or tissue: Avoid using your shirt, tissue, or paper towels to clean your lenses, as they can scratch the surface.
Don't leave glasses in direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can damage lens coatings and frame materials.
Don't use hot water: Hot water can damage lens coatings and frame finishes, so stick to lukewarm water for cleaning.
Lens Care for New Glasses: How to Clean Eyewear Properly
Properly cleaning the lenses of your new glasses is essential for maintaining clear vision. Follow these steps for effective lens care:
Rinse: Rinse your glasses under lukewarm water to remove dust and debris.
Soap: Apply a small drop of mild dish soap to each lens.
Rub: Gently rub both sides of the lenses with your fingertips to remove oils and smudges.
Rinse: Rinse the lenses thoroughly under lukewarm water to remove soap residue.
Dry: Gently dry the lenses using a clean, microfiber cloth to avoid scratching.
Preventing Lens Scratches: Tips for Eyeglass Care
Preventing lens scratches is a key aspect of eyeglass care. Here are some tips to keep your lenses scratch-free:
Use a microfiber cloth: Always use a soft microfiber cloth to clean your lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials that can cause scratches.
Store in a case: When you're not wearing your glasses, keep them in a protective case to prevent accidental scratches.
Avoid placing face down: Never place your glasses face down, as it exposes the lenses to potential scratches.
Steps to Care for New Glasses: Extending Glasses Lifespan
Caring for new glasses involves several steps that can significantly extend their lifespan:
Regular cleaning: Clean your glasses daily using a microfiber cloth and a mild cleaning solution.
Proper storage: Always store your glasses in a protective case to prevent damage.
Handle with care: Use both hands when putting on or removing your glasses to avoid bending the frame.
Avoid extreme temperatures: High heat or cold can damage lens coatings and frame materials.
Regular maintenance: Periodically check for loose screws and visit your eyewear provider for adjustments.
Eyeglass Cleaning Techniques: Keeping Your Glasses Smudge-Free
Smudges and fingerprints can obstruct your vision and affect the appearance of your glasses. Follow these techniques to keep your glasses smudge-free:
Use lens cleaner: Invest in a quality lens cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth to effectively remove smudges.
Avoid touching the lenses: Handle your glasses by the frame to minimize smudging from fingerprints.
Eyewear Cleaning Solutions: Cleaning Foggy Glasses
Foggy glasses can be a common annoyance, especially when transitioning from cold to warm environments. To prevent fogging, consider these solutions:
Anti-fog wipes or sprays: Use specialized anti-fog wipes or sprays to create a protective barrier against fog.
Proper ventilation: Adjust your glasses to sit slightly away from your face to allow better air circulation.
Best Practices for Glasses Care: Preserving Eyeglass Quality
Preserving the quality of your eyeglasses requires following these best practices:
Regular check-ups: Visit your eyewear provider for regular maintenance and adjustments.
Avoid using harsh materials: Use only microfiber cloths and cleaning solutions recommended by professionals.
Handle with care: Treat your glasses gently to prevent damage to both lenses and frames.
By following these new glasses care tips and maintaining a consistent eyewear maintenance routine, you can ensure the longevity and clarity of your eyeglasses. Remember to handle your glasses with care, clean them properly, and store them in a protective case when not in use. By doing so, you'll enjoy clear vision and well-maintained eyeglasses for years to come.

This is an effort to help these Explorers avoid creeping out the public as the Google will soon make the glass available in the public.   Staring into space for a long time tops the list of the don’ts in Google’s list. This suggests glass wearer not to become overly engaged with the glass in public since doing so will make the wearer look creepy and idiot. This is because few of the people know that you are wearing Google glasses. This is of course if you don’t mind being avoided or getting the ridiculous stare from the public.   While other tips are quite apparent, Google still put it into writing sense of the Glass wearers might have lost some etiquette over their excitement of the device.   “Standing alone in the corner of a room staring at people while recording them through Glass is not going to win you any friends,”   “Ask permission before taking photos or videos of others.”   “One way to avoid making people feel uncomfortable is to slip Glass around your neck or put them in a backpack.”   It has reached to Google’s warning that the some of the people who found out that one wears Google Glass; they would likely ask the wearer about the new technology. This is where the wearer’s social skills are tested in which he must try not to be Glasshole. This means that the wearer must avoid being snappy instead the wearer needs to be patient instead. The wearer must explain the features of the Glass which has great similarities to smart phones. This includes the camera, email, maps, etc.   While it is the common thing to do, Google still indulged in preaching basic etiquette and good manners by saying “respect others and if they have questions about Glass don’t get snappy. Be polite and explain what Glass does and remember, a quick demo can go a long way.”   The tips didn’t just tackle manners when it comes to using the Google Glass. The tech company also encourages optimizing the use of the device. This means taking advantage of the Google Glass voice commands which allow people to use the device sands the hands during golf plays, cooking sessions or activities where your hands are busy. Adding a password will definitely protect the device in case the device gets stolen.   The company also reminded the wearer of the use of the device with this statement, “Glass puts you more in control of your technology and frees you to look up and engage with the world around you rather than look down and be distracted from it”   Google even encourages social interaction stating: “Have a hangout with your friends, get walking directions to a fantastic new restaurant, or get an update on that delayed flight.”   If you are in doubt what to do and what not when it comes using Google Glass, the best thing to rely on is your common sense. Things to do when you want to look younger: Contact Lens Edition
As we age, the skin around our eyes starts to lose elasticity, leading to wrinkles and fine lines. One of the easiest ways to look younger is to wear contact lenses instead of glasses. Contact lenses not only improve your vision but also help you achieve a more youthful appearance. Here are some tips on how to look younger with contact lenses.
Choose the Right Color
Contact lenses come in various colors, and choosing the right one can make a big difference in your appearance. Darker colors such as brown or black can make your eyes look smaller and older. On the other hand, lighter colors such as blue or green can make your eyes look brighter and more youthful. If you have dark eyes, you can try wearing colored contacts that enhance your natural eye color.
Opt for Daily Disposable Lenses
Daily disposable lenses are a great option if you want to avoid the hassle of cleaning and storing your lenses every day. These lenses are designed for one-time use and are discarded after each wear, reducing the risk of infections and allergies. Moreover, daily disposable lenses are thinner and more comfortable, which makes them perfect for everyday wear
Use Moisturizing Eye Drops
As we age, our eyes tend to become dry and irritated, making us look tired and older. Using moisturizing eye drops can help hydrate your eyes, reduce redness, and make your eyes appear brighter and more youthful. Choose eye drops that are specifically designed for contact lens wearers and avoid using products that contain preservatives or harsh chemicals.
Take Care of Your Lenses
Proper hygiene and maintenance of your contact lenses are crucial if you want to keep your eyes healthy and youthful. Make sure you clean your lenses regularly and replace them as directed by your eye doctor. Avoid wearing your lenses for more than the recommended time, and never sleep with your lenses on.
Consider Anti-Aging Supplements
Certain supplements such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin C, and vitamin E can help slow down the aging process and improve the overall health of your eyes. These supplements can also help reduce inflammation and protect your eyes from oxidative stress, which can lead to age-related eye diseases.
In conclusion, wearing contact lenses can help you look younger and more vibrant. By choosing the right color, opting for daily disposable lenses, using moisturizing eye drops, taking care of your lenses, and considering anti-aging supplements, you can achieve a more youthful appearance and improve your eye health at the same time. Remember to consult with your eye doctor before trying any new products or supplements.
