FAQ:
I have vitiligo does that mean I can't do X, Y, or Z?:
If you have vitiligo: Welcome to the club :D! In general this advice is mainly aimed towards people who don't have vitiligo, BUT if you do, do what you want! The only thing I would ask of you is to be aware that A) People might not be aware that you have vitiligo which is why you're taking liberates with it, B) People might try to emulate your depiction so if someone without the disorder doing something you might find uncomfortable, keep that in mind! and C) Be mindful of whether or not you're contributing to potentially harmful stereotypes! I'm not going to tell you, someone with the disability, that things are off limits, and I am aware that not everyone feels the same about this disorder, but keeping those things in mind won't hurt anybody!
Is it okay for vitiligo to be animal or shape based in pattern?:
NO. It's de-humanizing and harmful as many ablest insults aimed towards people with this disorder are animal-based. Also it purposefully goes out of it's way to make a person less human purely because they're disabled, which is obviously ablest in itself. Vitiligo is a disorder, NOT an aesthetic.
The same applied for characters inspired or based on animals, especially ones that are patterned.
How does vitiligo develop?:
Vitiligo is an auto-immune disorder, which means its genetics based, BUT(!) it is not something you are born with, and needs to be developed through a person's life time. There are theories as to how it develops but as far as I'm aware there's no one solid answer.
Are POC the only people who can develop vitiligo?:
Nope! Vitiligo can occur in anyone of any race/ethnicity. The reason why you only see people with darker skin tones portrayed with it is because there's more visual contrast, thus making it seem more unique/distinct/obvious.
What does this blog offer?:
I do all sorts of things! I show examples of vitiligo represented in media, answer any questions people might have about it in general, questions specific to character/plots, character design tips, and sensitivity reading just to name a few!
Who runs this blog?:
@trinrose3! I developed vitiligo when I was 7 years and and for the majority of the time that I've had this disorder I felt disgusted and ashamed of it. Over the last few years I've learned to appreciate my vitiligo, as well as develop a slight hyperfixation on it in general, so I made this blog in order to spread awareness and positivity!
I'm the only one running this joint so if I'm being a little slow to answer an ask please be patient <3

EVE OF THE MOONS PROLOGUE CHAPTER 2.
You can listen to any song you want to this, I’m too lazy to list any songs.
But…
Amber by 311
Sins ( let me in ) by Kanii
Definitely :))).
✧︎
—————
[ Eve Of The Moons ]
Prologue Part 2 :
Lovesick.
—————
✧︎
The first thing the boy saw when he snapped open his eyes was eyes staring back.
The person who those eyes belonged to was someone totally unfamiliar to him.
A masculine looking person with shiny light green eyes, platinum blonde 3A hair, beige vitiligo skin, wearing a simple white buttoned up shirt, baggy jeans and a cardigan adorned with pink and red flowers, crouched over his figure lying still in the coffin.
The male looking person’s eyebrows arose, and their smile got brighter upon seeing the boy’s eyes open.
“Ah, you're awake! Good morning sleeping beauty~.” The person said, their voice mellifluous, clasping their hands together.
The boy in the coffin merely stared, not saying or gesturing a single thing back.
“How was your sleep?”
Still not a reply back. Even his hitodama was unmoving.
Despite that, the person smiled widely and lovingly at him.
“I can’t believe I’m seeing your face so close… It’s as lovely as it is through glass~.” They inched closer to the boy’s face, observing every feature on it and his big amber eyes, that widened a little by how close the person was.
They lifted themself up and away from the boy, clearing their throat with slightly flushed cheeks.
“My apologies, that was really rude…. I’m Ryoriku Liam, your new tailor.”
The boy turned his head towards the male named Liam. Now he’s certain he’s never seen this guy before, and it wasn’t just his brain messing up his memories.
‘New tailor…?’ He thought.
“Yugi Tsukasa. Yugi Tsukasa…. Yugi, Tsukasa…” Ryoriku tested the name on his tongue.
“May I call you Tsukasa-kun?”
Tsukasa made no affirming gesture. But, he did finally make the effort in getting up from his lying position in his coffin, unfolding his arms across his chest and setting them beside him. His hitodama followed his movement.
He flexed his fingers and bended his limbs, like he was testing if they moved or not.
They were definitely stiff, it was hard to move. But, he could deal with it.
Ryoriku watched Tsukasa stretch, waiting patiently for his answer, If he was even going to get one.
But he never did, not as Tsukasa finished stretching and resumed the staring contest.
“…… Well… Tsukasa-san, you can call me Liam.”
Tsukasa allowed himself to look at the small mole on Liam’s face under his left eye instead of his green eyes. Processing what Liam had said, the boy nodded his head very slowly.
The tailor smiled. “Very well. It’s almost 6:00 AM, and you should make an entrance before everyone fully wakes up.”
“Is it ok if we start now? Getting ready, I mean.”
Liam stepped to the side, revealing a utility cart trolley that had several clothes hanging on it.
Tsukasa wondered where it came from, but he mumbled a single “Ok”. His voice was very unused too.
Liam tilted his head to the side, walking closer towards Tsukasa again. He took one of Tsukasa’s cool brown hands into his, raising it up to his mouth and kissing the tips of his clients dead gray fingernails.
Tsukasa took notice of the way Liam held his one hand with two of his own.
Liam started pointing to each fashionable item on the cart, all of them were full outfits. A plain long sleeved button up shirt with a deep purple waist coat and relaxed black trousers. A white Victorian shirt, and dark mauve Zouave trousers. The last outfit was a white western shirt, black kimono with royal purple at the end of the sleeves, the bottoms were mauve gray. Topped with a hat.
The last one caught his eye, so he pointed at it.
Tsukasa always found himself unable to speak whenever he woke up from his month-long naps. It wore off after a while.
Liam clapped his hands, “Alright, we’ll go with that one!”
“Doesn’t take long for a spirit to get ready, does it? You’ll dress up and greet the rest of the building!”
A few short minutes later Tsukasa was fully dressed with the kimono he chose.
He wore a few extra accessories of choice that his tailor had. A peace symbol earring pierced into his left ear, crystal amethyst moon necklace with a few silver rings.
Liam exclaimed, saying Tsukasa looked perfect, “Just like he always did”, whatever that meant.
The black haired blasian boy wondered who was paying his tailor to be so nice?
All of his other tailors that he could remember were bossy and impatient. Simply just rude.
Their personality always bothered his big brother, but never himself. He had enough sympathy to think that they were always just having a bad day, or if they’re usually just like that.
But the reason they aren’t his tailors anymore is because, one bad comment directed his way, and his brother would kick them out, demanding to never grace their presence again. No payment and all.
This new tailor's personality seemed self-pleasing. Maybe Liam usually likes being presentable, or he wants a good check.
Liam looked about his age, why was he working as a tailor? Why was he working at all? I mean, people in the Far Shore could work at any age, literally. But he looked a little bit….. Near Shore-ish….? His aura wasn’t supernatural or paranormal at all.
But, either way, it didn't matter to Tsukasa. Wouldn’t matter if he had no tailor at all.
Tsukasa looked in the big long mirror, sitting right next to his window. He swears he saw this mirror move with freewill before. But he couldn’t remember all that.
He saw himself and couldn’t help but finally appreciate his brother’s unnecessary hard and time-consuming work of finding tailors for him.
He’s never worn a kimono before. Never when it mattered all that much. When he was human, or half human, his generation of people were dressing however they wanted, didn’t have to be traditional. That was on the eventful days.
He’s never worn one before. But he was glad he got the chance.
For the first time in a month, he saw himself smiling gleefully. He twirled around, getting a brief view of all of his angles, and held that smile.
Liam stood right behind him, putting a hand on Tsukasa’s shoulder.
“Not bad, right?”
Tsukasa nodded rapidly.
He chuckled, “I forgot one more special accessory to give you, stay right there,” then walked away.
In the meantime, Tsukasa looked left and right for his phone.
He forgot how he had got it back after losing it when he died, but it was the same one he had when living.
As a supernatural, to him, there was only one purpose of possessing an iphone.
It held numerous memories Tsukasa couldn’t hold onto in his mind, even if he tried. And trust him, he wouldn’t let them go purposely.
His iphone was under the bed in his room that he never even used, not even when able to wake up after a night's long sleep, like most people.
Tsukasa will admit, it was absolutely useless to look back at memories. Those things in the past aren’t what’s important to the world’s future anymore. Not his either, because he doesn’t even have one. Not anymore, not ever even. All he could do was look back at the past on a small glass screen.
All the pictures of a certain pink haired boy and other familiars filled up his camera roll. People which he deemed important, in some cases, in some matters.
He refused to believe that he wanted to demote them to anything unimportant.
Even if he had to watch those memories flow away from the presents.
He honestly didn’t know what was present, past or future anymore.
Maybe that was only his terrible conception of time though?
Tsukasa didn’t get a chance to scroll though the memories when he was pushed back in front of the mirror from behind.
He felt a lukewarm hand grasp his left, cold one with delicacy, softly holding it up a little to glance at all of his fingers. Then, with the other hand, Liam held a ring, a multi-shade purple one, with a questionable design, and slid it onto Tsukasa’s ring finger.
Tsukasa held his left hand up, eye length, staring at the ring’s violet, amethyst, eggplant purple shades with hints of macaron yellow and indigo blue.
It was a pretty ring, he admitted to himself. But he didn’t know why it was given to him. He had enough rings.
He turned and looked at a close eyed smiling Liam, then to the ring, and back at Liam.
“Is it pretty? The colors fit you well.” He complimented.
Tsukasa had to agree, and just consented to having it on and not question.
But looking down at Liam’s fingers, on his right hand ring finger, the same ring was being worn, but with shades of pink with hints of the same shade yellow and regular purple.
He didn’t ask Liam about it, but he decided to do it some other time instead. Maybe once he got to know his tailor better.
Liam’s hands slyly slid onto the sides of Tsukasa's waist, while Tsukasa was too busy staring at his ring.
It was now 5:50 AM. This was the time people started getting up and greeting the day. Their plan was to come out before people crowded the building, so they had to go down immediately.
Liam led Tsukasa to the door, even though he knew where it was, and they both walked out, and his hitodama followed.
It had been a while since Tsukasa saw the building's exterior, but he could never forget it, since he’s been here for over 53 years. The walls were plain pearl white, the floors were marble off white tiles, and the halls were decorated with bats, pumpkins, and ghost garlands. The lighted candles that hung on the walls were replaced with jack-o-lanterns burning with yellow, red and orange light. The pumpkins all had different expressions and all of them were colored differently.
Tsukasa observed each one while speed-walking down the hallway. He decided that his favorite one was a regular, circular, orange one, a fanged smile and furrowed eyes lit with fire looking at him, and he looked back.
It kind of looked like him. But as a devious-looking Halloween pumpkin.
It was alive. It shook with high-pitched, eerie laughter at his mesmerized face, then went back to being still.
It’s not like he hadn’t seen a living pumpkin before, but no living pumpkin had ever acknowledged his existence.
“I really like that one,” he said out loud to himself.
“Why is that?” Liam responded, although he didn’t look back to him, so Tsukasa doubted he even knew what he was talking about.
“It looks a little like me.”
Liam looked up and thought.
“Yeah, it did.”
I guess he did know what he was talking about.
They continued speed walking down the hall and got to the white elevator plated with gold rims and a a big dark red number on it. ‘7’. Having to wait for it to come back down, and once it did the elevator door opened and out came three carts being pushed by three small, pink bunnies each.
The two boys waved at the creatures and they waved back. Then got on the elevator, pressing the button ‘1’.
Tsukasa wondered some more. Because there was never enough to not think about.
He wondered if Liam was new to the castle, he seemed to know exactly where they were going though. But if so, how come Tsukasa never sees him? Maybe he forgot there was a person like him in here, or maybe he just hasn't seen him.
He wondered if his brother was on the first floor anywhere. Maybe his brother was waiting for him? He hoped so. He hasn’t seen him in a second. Not conscious, especially.
He wondered if he would run into some of his other supernatural associates, like he always did. He probably would.
He wondered some more, lost in thought, and the elevator filled with soft rhythmic music that made him unconsciously tap his right foot in the same patterns. Liam held his hands behind his back, and looked away, while Tsukasa kept his hands by his side, looking at the floor.
Liam’s aura was a little neurotic, but Tsukasa ignored that.
They had made it to the first floor and before they could get out of the elevator they turned to see the pink bunny creatures bombarding them. Or, just Tsukasa.
“Tsukasa-chan, Tsukasa-chan! Welcome back, good morning!!” One jumped on him, looking a little different from the rest. Only one big eye and black fur.
He smiled, despite not knowing if the bunny knew him personally.
The black creature took something from behind their back with their long ear, and offered it to him. “Here, have candy, have candy!”
He took it into his palm. It was cherry flavored.. Hard candy? Of some sort.
Tsukasa’s never had this kind of candy. On the packaging it read “Oguran ho-chan”.
But he didn’t think twice before opening it, putting it into his mouth and biting into it with his sharp, fanged right tooth.
Hm, it had cherry juice in it.
The other creatures continued to smother Tsukasa with greetings and candy/snacks. “Hello Tsukasa-chan! Here are some more Sakuranbo-chan candies!” “These ones are my favorite, and I’m giving them to you because you’re my favorite twin! Cookies & Cream Pockys!” “I know you like weird-tasting stuff, so I found these Sasebo Burger Drops and tomato flavored hard candies!!”
By the time they were down dropping sweets in front of him, Liam and him decided to carefully scoot out of the elevator so it wouldn’t close on them, and so that the mound of candy didn’t get in.
…
“Oh wow…” Liam spoke, chuckling amusingly.
“Yeah….. I wasn’t expecting that..”
“Did they do this last time? Last time you woke up again?”
Tsukasa turned towards him, “Well… I don’t really remember..”
He put his hands on his hips, eyebrows scrunched with a puzzling expression. “What am I gonna do with all of these?”
Liam looked at the mound of ‘gifts’ Tsukasa received. He squinted at one and picked it up.
“….. Taro…. Kimchi flavored squid snacks-“
Tsukasa gasps out of nowhere. “Ahh, Bontan Ame!”
He held the candies up to Liam’s face, a long black box with lemons on it.
“I’ve never had these before. Do you like them?”
Tsukasa nods with a wide smile.
Liam smiles at him, “You like sour candies, huh.” He didn’t ask anyone in particular, it was more of a mental note.
The supernatural’s hitodama, the one with a teal blue center, swirled around the mound speedily, to the point where it covered it in black smoke. Once it stopped, the gifts were gone.
All except for the Bontans Tsukasa held in his hand.
The duo started walking again, but they didn’t have a direction in mind. Tsukasa thought they were finding his brother, he had no idea what Liam was thinking.
But he could see that they were gradually walking up to a mid-height person, with short copper ginger dreads, and their back facing them.
“And then he just stared us right in the eyes, continuing to dig in his bag for his ID. Just tell people we’re hiring already, pleeease-!”
“Nope, no, nada. We don’t need anymore staff-“
“Fire some, if you have to! People think we’re open for employment-“
“We’ll just put out an announcement on social media saying we’re not open for employment. We’ll put it on every platform. Is that better?”
The person that the ginger was talking to sounded a bit insincere and sarcastic, but their voice sounded awfully familiar.
“You don’t even care, do you?” Asked the ginger flatly.
“Why would I?”
Their conversation didn’t seem to go on, but maybe they were looking at each other in a certain way.
Liam and Tsukasa stopped right in front of the ginger.
Were they looking for these people?
The blonde boy, as politely as possible, tapped the person on the shoulder lightly. They turned around and looked down at the shorter boys, as well as the other person.
Tsukasa glanced at the ginger, and then at the person they were talking to.
A short black haired boy, brown skinned and the same height as him, with two amber orbs.
“I’m sorry–”
Gasping and accidentally pushing the other two people out of his way, Tsukasa exclaimed and jumped right onto the person who ( once ) stood in front of all of them.
“AMANNNNEEEE!!!”
Almost every person on the first floor looked over at where the squeal came from, which, thankfully, were a small number of people. But there was no saying if the second floor could hear, or even the third…
Both of them crashed to the ground, and that made an even louder noise, and also knocked down a small table nearby sending a glass vase flying.
Liam and the ginger sweatdropped, looking at the two and quickly glancing over to the other.
“I’m sorry…. If we interrupted something…”
Tsukasa squeezed the life out of the look-alike, and the said person laid on the ground in short shock. Before they looked at Tsukasa’s head and smiled.
“Hey Tsukasa…” Mumbled the boy identical to Tsukasa, in a raspy voice due to his squeezing.
“I missed you so so so so so so so much!!”
“Can you loosen up..?”
He squeezed even harder before finally letting go a little, having his hands on ‘Amane’’s shoulders.
“Oh, your Tsukasa, right?” The ginger asked.
Tsukasa turned to him, answering with a ‘yeah’ even though he had no idea who the guy was.
Amane stood up and brushed off his attire, a long sleeved black formal shirt and black slacks, fixed his hat, cleared his throat and decided to ignore the table and vase that fell over, acting like nothing just happened.
Tsukasa got up with him.
“Tsukasa, this is Akane, my quote-unquote work colleague.” He winked towards Akane, the title seemed a little ‘exaggerated’, like they were adults and businessmen working in offices. But Tsukasa didn’t know how old Akane even was. He couldn’t be that old.
“Yeah, ‘work colleagues’, whatever. It’s nice to meet you Tsukasa. I’ll catch you later Hanako, and your advice actually sucks, but if it doesn’t work I'll let Kako know it was your idea.” Akane said blandly, before walking away.
“Well that was sudden...” Hanako blurted.
He looked over at Tsukasa again, then at Liam.
“You did a pretty good job! I knew you were going to.” He says, complimenting Liam on his fashion skills.
Liam nods and thanks him, looking off to the side a little shyly.
“Tsukasa, since you’re awake now.. You’ll have breakfast with me, won’t you. They have a specialty today because all of the tsuki made neru waking up.”
Tsukasa didn’t even have to think about it before he was nodding his head rapidly.
“Liam, would you like to join us? You don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He plainly asked.
“Oh no thank you, I appreciate the offer though, but i’m going to go meet up with a friend of mine. If you don’t mind… I’ll be leaving now.”
“I don’t mind at all. Farewell then.”
“Farewell.” Liam waved off, about to turn around and start walking off, until Tsukas spoke up.
“Goodbye Liam, and thank you!” He waved.
Tsukasa beamed and Liam smiled affectionately, and radiantly. Giving Tsukasa a wave back, and then headed off with a, “I’ll see you soon..”
Tsukasa wondered what friend he was going to meet with.
“Do you like your new tailor?”
Hanako and Tsukasa walked away from their previous spot, heading towards the castle’s cafe, or lunchroom, Tsukasa guessed.
People were starting to flood the first floor, greeting other’s with a ‘hello’ and ‘good morning’, ‘how are you’, or just a ‘want to grab some food’.
“Yeah, he’s really nice.”
So many conversations were happening at once, the fanged boy didn’t think he could keep up with everything. The lights were flickering, chairs were scooting across the floor, heavy footsteps and the air vents could be heard. Even the electricity.
Tsukasa wondered if Hanako could hear it too.
Probably so.
Hopefully the cafe would be less noisy.
“I missed you a lot Amane, didn’t get to see you last time.”
He hoped Amane heard him through all the painful noise.
They were busy trying to slide between, behind, and in front of everyone in the way. But some people had made way for them after seeing Hanako. The first floor was filling up fast. Why weren’t people going to other floors, or other departments of the castle? There were plenty.
By the time they got to the exit of the first floor, and to the counter place, they could finally breathe in air that wasn’t occupied by others. The castle visitors were more concerned with the first floor than the lunchroom. Which was weird, since it was the morning, especially. Were the other departments as busy as this?
Hanako walked up to the counter, but saw that there was a curtain blocking the view of the kitchen.
“Wait a second, please! Just a minute, just a minute!” A werewolf-looking blonde haired boy’s head popped out of the curtains abruptly, before immediately pulling them back closed and shouting something behind the curtain.
The boys stood dumbfounded, and Hanako sighed.
Both of them sat down on the high chairs.
They sat in silence for some time, before Hanako spoke up again, in a quiet tone.
“I missed you a lot too.”

Self-Care Tips for Vitiligo: Medication and Treatment for White Spots on Skin
Vitiligo, a skin disease that affects approximately 1 to 3 percent of the world population, is identified by the formation of white patches on various areas of the body, such as vitiligo on lips, arms, face, elbow, etc. Managing vitiligo can have significant challenges. Patients affected with this condition often experience feelings of embarrassment, sadness, shame, or distress due to the alterations in their physical appearance. Such emotional responses may result in low self-esteem and depression. Counselling from a mental health professional is advisable because it facilitates coping mechanisms and manages mental health issues associated with the condition.
Self-care tips for vitiligo patients
Ways to stop and fix vitiligo aim to control the disease, slow it down, and deal with how it changes how your skin looks. Here are some important points:
Sun Protection and Vitiligo:
The skin patches affected by vitiligo lack the natural defence mechanisms provided by melanin, the skin pigment, which is present in normal skin and offers protection against the sun's rays.
Unprotected vitiligo skin is at a significantly increased risk of burning rapidly. Sunburn not only causes discomfort but may also trigger the expansion of vitiligo in some individuals. Furthermore, it elevates the risk of developing skin cancer. It must also be recognised that sunlight is essential in keeping one healthy as it is a source of Vitamin D. Still, it has to be considered that the skin should be covered entirely from the damaging and harmful rays of the sun. This will also benefit in increasing the efficacy of your treatment for white spot on skin.
Prioritising Hydration:
With vitiligo, it becomes absolutely essential to keep the skin at its optimal levels of hydration during the colder months. The cold, dry air increases moisture loss from the surface of the skin, exacerbating dryness and sometimes the manifestation of vitiligo symptoms.
Applying a natural moisturiser immediately after bath time while the skin is still slightly damp leads to proven results. The main advantage of sealing in moisture is to keep the skin soft and hydrated. Of course, hydration should always come first for people with vitiligo to keep their skin healthy in winter conditions.
Practising Stress Management:
Participating in some activities that promote stress relief, such as yoga or breathing exercises, can be an important aspect of managing stress and overall well-being, which could positively impact vitiligo.
Be Consistent and Patient:
Consistency is the key to the successful vitiligo treatment naturally, as it calls for a skincare routine, implementation of prescribed therapies and trust in the process. Inevitably, it is important to understand that the results will take time; hence, patience is required.
Dietary tips for Vitiligo
1. Eat foods high in antioxidants like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds to help manage vitiligo symptoms. Stress can reduce melanin production, leading to skin depigmentation. Antioxidants help combat this by promoting melanin production. Research on mice with vitiligo showed significant improvements after consuming antioxidant-rich foods. Aim for a colourful diet to ensure you're getting a variety of antioxidants.
2. Consider a gluten-free diet. One study found that a gluten-free diet led to noticeable skin repigmentation in a vitiligo patient after nine months. Although this study was on one person, reducing gluten intake might be worth trying. Gluten is thought to cause inflammation, which could worsen your treatment for white spot on skin.
3. Avoid foods that cause inflammation, such as processed meats, sugary drinks, trans fats, white bread, pasta, gluten, soybean oil, vegetable oil, processed snacks, desserts, and alcohol. These foods can worsen vitiligo symptoms by increasing inflammation. A healthy diet rich in nutrients, fibre, and probiotics can help improve health and reduce low-grade inflammation. They can reduce the efficiency of your vitiligo disease treatment.
4. Consider taking vitiligo medication to support vitiligo management. While it's best to get nutrients from whole foods, some studies suggest supplements like ginkgo biloba, vitamin C, vitamin E, polyunsaturated fatty acids (omega-3), and vitamin D may help with skin repigmentation in vitiligo patients.
Homoeopathy: An Integrated Approach to Health
This ancient medical science of homeopathy, being able to address the root cause of the disease, has proven effective in treating many conditions, including acne, dryness of the skin, and psoriasis. Homeopathy offers one of the best treatment for vitiligo. Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, vitiligo, and acne can have a vast impact on the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Vitiligo, in particular, is a serious disorder and can throw a person into deep psychological distress, leading to a loss of self-confidence. Thus, one should not delay in taking timely vitiligo disease treatment. Bharat Homeopathy offers the best treatment for vitiligo with its personalised and natural approach. Our doctors have years of experience in dealing with vitiligo patients. They start their treatment procedure by gaining information about the patient’s medical history and prescribing medications based on the individualised symptoms of the patient. Bharat homeopathy: Best Treatment and Tips for Vitiligo Patients
Vitiligo is a skin condition that concerns between 1 and 3 per cent of the people around the world. The appearance of white patches on different parts of the body, such as vitiligo on lips, arms, face, and elbows, among others, characterises it. It is a major challenge to manage vitiligo. Issues. Patients with this disease are often confronted with feelings of embarrassment or shame, sadness or sadness due to changes in their appearance. These emotional reactions can cause low self-esteem and depression. A consultation with professionals in mental health is recommended because it may assist in the development of coping mechanisms and address the mental health issues that are associated with the illness.
Tips on self-care for vitiligo patients
Strategies to prevent and treat Vitiligo are designed to manage the condition, slow its progression, and address the way it affects how your skin appears. Here are some essential aspects:
Sun Protection and Vitiligo:
The skin patches that are affected by vitiligo are deficient in the natural defence mechanisms offered by melanin, the natural skin pigment that is found in normal skin and provides protection from the sun's radiation.
Skin with vitiligo that is not protected is at a higher chance of rapidly burning. The discomfort caused by sunburn is not just a matter of comfort but also can trigger the growth of vitiligo in certain people. Additionally, it increases the chance of developing skin cancer. It is important to recognise that sunlight is vital to keeping you healthy since it's a great source of Vitamin D. However, it is important to take into consideration that your skin needs to be protected by the harmful and damaging sunlight's harmful rays. It will also aid in improving the usefulness of treatment for white spot on skin..
Prioritising Hydration:
In the case of vitiligo, it is vital to ensure that the skin is at its best levels of moisture during the winter months. The dry, cold air causes a loss of moisture to the skin's surface, which can cause dryness and even the appearance of vitiligo-related symptoms.
Applying a natural moisturiser right after bathing, even though the skin is slightly damp, can lead to positive results. The major benefit of sealing the moisture into your skin is keeping your skin silky and moisturised. But, of course, water intake must be the primary concern for people who suffer from vitiligo to maintain their skin's health in cold winter weather.
Practising Stress Management:
Engaging in certain activities that help relieve stress, such as breathing exercises or yoga, could be a crucial element in managing stress and overall health that can positively impact the condition of vitiligo.
Be Consistent and Patient:
Consistency is essential to a successful vitiligo treatment naturally since it requires a skincare routine, the use of prescribed treatments, and faith in the procedure. Naturally, it is crucial to recognise that the outcomes will take time; hence, patience is needed.
Tips for a healthy diet Vitiligo
1. Consume foods rich in antioxidants, such as fruits or vegetables, nuts and seeds to manage the symptoms of vitiligo. Stress can affect melanin production, which can lead to the skin becoming less pigmented. Antioxidants can help fight this by encouraging melanin production. Studies on mice suffering from the condition showed remarkable improvement when they ate antioxidant-rich food. Try to eat a mixed diet to ensure that you're receiving a range of antioxidants.
2. Consider a gluten-free diet. One study revealed that a gluten-free diet contributed to visible skin repigmentation for a patient suffering from vitiligo after nine months. While this study focused on one patient cutting down on gluten consumption, it could be something worth considering. Gluten is believed to trigger inflammation, which can make it more difficult to treatment for white spot on skin..
3. Avoid foods that can cause inflammation, like processed meats, drinks that are sugary trans fats, white bread, gluten, pasta, vegetable oil, soybean oil, processed snacks, desserts and alcohol. These food items can exacerbate the symptoms of vitiligo through a rise in inflammation. A proportional diet that is rich in fibre, nutrients, and probiotics can improve health and lessen the effects of the severity of inflammation. They can decrease the efficacy of your vitiligo disease treatment.

Tips on self-care for vitiligo patients
Methods to stop and treat Vitiligo are designed to manage the illness, slow its progression, and take care of the changes it makes to your skin. Here are some key aspects:
Sun Protection and Vitiligo:
The skin patches that are affected by vitiligo do not have the natural defence mechanisms offered by melanin, the natural skin pigment that's found in normal skin and provides protection from the sun's radiation.
Skin with vitiligo that is not protected is at a higher possibility of burning quickly. The discomfort caused by sunburn is not just a matter of comfort but also can trigger the development of vitiligo among some people. In addition, it can increase the likelihood of developing skin cancer. It is important to recognise that sunlight is vital to keeping you healthy since it's a great source of Vitamin D. However, it is important to remember that your skin needs to be protected from the harmful and damaging sunlight's harmful rays. It will also aid in enhancing the effectiveness of treatment for white spot on skin..
Prioritising Hydration:
When you have vitiligo, it is imperative to maintain the skin in a state of optimal moisture during the winter months. The dry, cold air causes a loss of moisture to the skin's surface, leading to dryness and the appearance of symptoms of vitiligo.
Applying a natural moisturiser right after bathing, even though the skin is slightly damp, will give you the best results. The primary benefit of sealing moisture in is that it keeps our skin silky and well-hydrated. But, of course, water intake must be the first priority for those suffering from vitiligo in order to maintain their skin's health during winter.
Practising Stress Management:
Engaging in activities that help relieve stress, like breathing exercises or yoga, could be a crucial factor in managing stress and overall well-being, which can have an optimistic impact on the condition of vitiligo.
Be Consistent and Patient:
Consistency is essential to a vitiligo treatment naturally, which requires a routine of skincare, the use of prescribed treatments and faith in the procedure. Naturally, it is crucial to recognise that the outcomes are not instantaneous; therefore, patience is needed.
Tips for a healthy diet Vitiligo

Treatment for Vitiligo disease at Bharat Homeopathy hospital
Vitiligo is a long-lasting skin condition that can manifest in any area of the skin or any other part of your body that may be affected. It is caused when melanocytes, cells that produce pigment, are targeted incorrectly to be destroyed by your immune system. This is known as vitiligo. It can affect any person. Some people consider this condition to be contagious, meaning that it is spreadable, but this is not. It isn't and is not transmitted from one person to the next through drinking and eating since the disease is an immune condition that is not transferable to another. Many people want immediate relief following the onset of this condition. For this, they begin using allopathic medications, and their condition gets worse instead of being treated since allopathic medicine works to treat the disease; if a person quits taking the allopathic vitiligo medication, then within a short time, the disease will increase in severity. Some sufferers have to battle this condition throughout their lives.
What are the different types of Vitiligo?
There are two kinds of Vitiligo. Segmental and non-segmental. If you can identify them, you will be able to obtain treatment for vitiligo since before you can receive treatment for vitiligo disease, you must identify the cause properly.
Segmental vitiligo is only affecting one side or part that is part of the body. It is usually on the right side or left or on the front or back. It will never change his side. This is referred to as segmental vitiligo.
There are a variety of non-segmental types of vitiligo, like localised vitiligo or Generalised Vitiligo:
Localised vitiligo is fixed in its spot. It can also be classified into two kinds: focal (it is fixed in a single location, such as at the knee, meaning it stays there and won't spread) and mucosal (it develops in the mucus membrane).
Generalised vitiligo can spread quickly all over your body. There are a variety of types of lip-tip that are often seen in large numbers.
The bilateral form of vitiligo may appear on one side but be the same spot on the opposite side.
That's why you need to consider a better treatment for vitiligo when you begin to recognise the signs of the disease so that the disorder stops getting worse. To get the best treatment, you should use homeopathy, vitiligo treatment naturally or an alternative treatment for side effects.
The natural remedy for vitiligo that Homeopathy offers is a natural cure
The treatment of homoeopathy is generally referred to as a natural remedy, meaning that herbal remedies are made from natural substances to create homoeopathic remedies and medications that are not prone to adverse effects, and the patient is able to receive treatment without anxiety. The treatment does not rely on any type of steroid or drug, such as allopathy. It is a painless treatment for anyone, whether a child or an elderly person and can easily eliminate this major illness.

Hi there, I was recently told by my dermatologist that she’s 90% sure I’ve got vitiligo (she wants to take a sample to test to make sure there’s nothing else going on before she diagnoses me for sure.)
I went online to look for tips for caring for my vitiligo and the like but found so many people so uncomfortable in their skin because of it and trying to get rid of it and I struggled to understand why. I’ve always thought it beautiful, so it really confused me.
I am fat, disabled, autistic and visibly queer so I don’t really feel the same weight of beauty standards because of being so on the outer edge of societal norms. I am also privileged in the way that I am white and pale so my vitiligo doesn’t stand out all that much. I think I’ve been ignorant and insensitive and I want to fix that.
I would really love to be more informed and understanding about the community going forward so that I don’t do any harm and I remain mindful. Do you know any good resources that I can read or research? I’m having a hard time finding anything that isn’t about getting rid of it.
I sincerely apologize if any of this comes off poorly, thank you for your time.
Hi!
Yeah it's rather unfortunate that a lot of the material surrounding vitiligo is about getting rid of it </3
I'm sure your dermatologist has probably already discussed this so sorry if I'm just repeating stuff you already know lol. But when it comes to caring for vitiligo the main things you want to pay attention to are things like sun exposure and UV intensity. Wearing sun screen as frequently as possible is also a really good idea. Usually the worst time of day is around noon to one pm but during the summer time it might be an all day thing.
I am not a doctor/dermatologist so cant really offer any medical advice besides the few things I remember my dermatologist telling me when I first got diagnosed years ago.
Idk how in-depth you want to go with the research stuff but there are medical studies out there that talk about genetic factors and what not. A few years ago I did a presentation on it for a biology course in college and luckily I saved it to my personal slides account so I still have the bibliography that I used!
Spritz, Richard A, and Genevieve H L Andersen. “Genetics of Vitiligo.” Dermatologic clinics vol. 35,2 (2017): 245-255. doi:10.1016/j.det.2016.11.013
Al-Shobaili, Hani A. “Update on the genetics characterization of vitiligo.” International journal of health sciences vol. 5,2 (2011): 167-79.
“Vitiligo: MedlinePlus Genetics.” MedlinePlus - Health Information from the National Library of Medicine, https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condition/vitiligo/#frequency. Accessed 12 Apr. 2021.Boggs, Will.
“Autoimmune Diseases Common in Patients with Vitiligo - The Rheumatologist.” The Rheumatologist, https://www.the-rheumatologist.org/article/autoimmune-diseases-common-in-patients-with-vitiligo/. Accessed 12 Apr. 2021.
“Vitiligo: MedlinePlus Genetics.” MedlinePlus - Health Information from the National Library of Medicine, https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/condition/vitiligo/#frequency. Accessed 12 Apr. 2021.
“Medico-Historical Study of ‘Kilasa’ (Vitiligo/Leucoderma) a Common Skin Disorder - PubMed.” PubMed, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17154114/. Accessed 12 Apr. 2021.
As for when it comes to the community the best research will probably be from just talking to people who've had the condition! Personal anecdotes are def the way to go, so searching for any community groups might be worth a shot!
Also don't worry you don't have top apologize <3

Will the temperature fall in winter, will the itching skin lesion affect the condition of vitiligo?
Vitiligo is not itching generally , but as the temperature decreases, some patients react to the skin lesions. Why is this problem? Will it affect the condition?
①The adaptation period of self -adjustment
With the temperature of the human skin and subcutaneous blood vessels, the secretion and excretion of sebaceous glands and sweat glands have also been reduced. In addition, the dry air makes the skin less moisture, and the epidermis becomes weak and sensitive. The human body function will show a adaptation period with the change of the climate, which is prone to itching of the skin.
② Dry environmental dryness
Dry climate will cause the skin to lose moisture. If the skin has dry symptoms for a long time, it will cause the skin to cause itching, dry cracks, and keratin drops, which will affect skin health and may cause the condition to worsen.
③The external stimulus
In contact with dust in life and work, using excessive soaps, edible spicy and irritating foods, wearing chemical fiber clothing, etc., can cause itching of skin cancer. In addition, staying in the heating room for a long time will cause the skin to have water deficiency, leading to problems such as dryness and cancer, affecting skin health.
④ Caused by blindly applying medicine
As the temperature decreases, the skin lesion parts enter a relatively stable stage. Due to the "improvement" of the condition, patients may have problems such as blind treatment and painting on their own. If the treatment is not targeted, the drug is stimulated to the skin lesions
It can cause itching in the skin.
⑤ Extraction of the disease
According to clinical data, itching problems occur in winter skin lesions. If a comprehensive examination and treatment is not performed, the problem of white spots or new white spots may occur in spring, which may also aggravate the disease and cause treatment difficulty.
Expert tips:
When itching symptoms appear at the skin lesion, do not scratch it directly to avoid damage to the skin. Due to different situations and living environment, itching causes different causes. Therefore, it is recommended that patients go to the hospital to check and take necessary treatment measures as soon as possible when it occurs in skin itching problems to prevent the disease from affecting the condition.#vitiligo #vitiligo hospital #vitiligo treatment

Vitiligo is a skin condition that results in the development of white patches on the skin, a consequence of the loss of melanocytes, the pigment-producing cells. The lack of melanocytes means that no melanin, the pigment that determines the colour of your skin, hair, and eyes, can be produced in these areas, causing them to turn white. These patches can appear anywhere on the body, often symmetrically, and are more noticeable on darker skin.
There are many misconceptions surrounding vitiligo. Some believe it's contagious or a result of poor hygiene, but these are untrue. Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition, meaning the immune system mistakenly attacks the body's cells - in this case, the melanocytes. It's not caused by an infection or poor hygiene and cannot be passed from person to person. Additionally, while vitiligo can cause patches of skin to lack pigment, it doesn't affect the health or function of the skin. It can, however, have a significant emotional can lead psychological impact. Despite these misconceptions, with the right understanding and management, those with vitiligo and normal and healthy lives.
The diagnosis of vitiligo often begins with a thorough medical history and physical examination. The condition can usually be confirmed by a visual examination by a dermatologist, but further tests may be conducted to rule out other skin conditions. These tests may include a skin biopsy, blood tests, or an eye examination. In certain cases, a Wood's lamp examination, where the skin is observed under ultraviolet light, may be used to highlight the contrast between vitiligo and normal skin.
Currently, there are several treatment options available for vitiligo. These may be categorized into medical, surgical, and adjunctive treatments. Medical treatments include topical corticosteroids and calcineurin inhibitors, psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) therapy, and narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) therapy. Surgical treatments such as melanocyte-keratinocyte transplantation can be considered for some patients. Adjunctive treatments like tattoos and makeup can be used to camouflage the depigmented areas. The field of vitiligo treatment has seen significant advancements in recent years. Researchers are exploring new treatments like Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, which hold promise in depigmenting the skin. Gene therapy, stem cell therapy, and melanocyte transplantation are other areas of ongoing research. It's important to remember that while these treatments can help manage the condition and improve quality of life, there is currently no cure for vitiligo. Each patient's response to treatment can vary, and it's crucial to find a treatment plan that works best for the individual's needs and lifestyle.
