Revelry: Kings of Leon Personal Memories
My history of seeing this band is a bit complicated, much like a friend zone relationship. The first time I saw this band was when they opened for U2 during the Vertigo tour at United Center. They were okay, but I remember absolutely nothing about the show. This stands to reason since I have always felt that I really did not care for their early albums. Yet, I must also note that I had never listened to them before that night. Additionally, U2 was fairly mediocre because at one point Bono started talking about Yahweh, which made me want to leave five minutes later. The next chance I had to see the band was at Lollapalooza when they headlined in 2008. I had to pass because my friend wanted to see this new guy called Kid Cudi and a new dj that went by the name, Major Lazer. Looking back now, I probably made the right choice despite leaving early to see Arctic Monkeys at the Metro.
The next opportunity to see them was in Tinley Park, but at the last minute the show was cancelled because this represented the short hiatus of shows the band called off due to internal issues between the brothers. I worried that I would never see a proper show from them. The next time was during the Mechanical Bull tour at the United Center, but I got drunk with a girl I really liked the night before. I had planned on taking her, but she was a bit hungover too, so I ate the tickets. Please know I did not mean that literally because I am not one to eat Ticketmaster paper. Pearl Jam would not be proud of me. I finally saw the band in the pit at the United Center during the WALLS tour. I had such a great time, but the shots I drank that night screwed me over as I cannot remember anything about the show. I will say that live reviews of the band are true. They are a lot like the Strokes in that hey play the songs, and that’s it. You get the songs just like they are on the album, and that is it. If you want crowd participation, then go see Green Day with your little nephew. Kings of Leon played all their songs with a short bit of banter just before the encore, which did not annoy me at all whatsoever.
In 2019, I traveled to San Diego for Kaaboo Festival at the former Del Mar race track. Kings of Leon were the headlining band, but due to concern out of being left stranded in the middle of nowhere I made the tough decision to depart the show early. On the plus side, I got to see Wu-Tang Clan on my way out. Finally, this past December, I saw the band for a second time at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. I heard songs like “Supersoaker” and “Sex on Fire.” During the latter, I saw a man in sixties jamming out to the performance in masterful display of enthusiastic air guitar. 2 for 6 is not a very good average for me when it comes to Kings of Leon. The greatest highlight of that night in Chicago was hearing “Revelry” because I never realized how much I really liked that song. Such are concerts sometimes when you receive nice little surprises like that.

15 Good News Stories: Fun With Cicadas; Lifesavers; Teen Vs. Bear
ACROSS AMERICA — If you can’t silence them — and you can’t tell a cicada to shut up — join in the fun.
That could be the motto of a family in Maryland, where millions of periodic cicadas are making a lot of noise as they awake from their 17-year slumber.
Sarah Frank and her children — 9-year-old Alexander and 6-year-olds Audrey and Owen — are competing to see who can find the most cicadas and claim the Grand Cicada Award.
“All the kids think they’re pretty, and do I,” Frank told Patch in an email, adding hers is probably an unpopular opinion.
“They are very outdoorsy kids,” she said. “They live to be outdoors and find lots of creatures.” By Jacob Baumgart for Bowie, Maryland, Patch
More Fun With Cicadas
When the 17-year cicadas hatched, so did an idea for Scott Kanowitz and his family in Fairfax, Virginia. They turned their back yard into a set for a collection of photos starring the insects that, in their own right, have become a national craze. More toys and props have emerged along with the cicadas, and they’ve been photographed in decidedly human poses — having a hot dog, rolling along on a skateboard, driving and, well, you’ll have to see for yourself. A Lucky Delivery
Amazon delivery driver Wakie Medina usually finds Crows Hill Road in Woodbridge, New Jersey, a fairly quiet street, but when he recently turned onto it, he saw smoke. Was it someone’s grill? “No,” he decided as she got closer. “This is just too much smoke.” While a neighbor alerted the fire department, Medina turned his attention to the teenager trying to put out the fire with what appeared to be a watering can. His grandmother and sister were inside, the boy said. Without hesitation, Medina rushed in and helped the two out, then walked casually back to his truck. “I did what I had to do and got out of the way and went back to my truck,” he told Patch. “I was in the right place at the right time.” By Eric Kiefer for Woodbridge, New Jersey, Patch
Do Nurses Ever Clock Out?
A couple of nurses — Naela Yasin and Mary Kasper — weren’t officially on duty when they attended a graduation ceremony at a suburban Chicago high school. But they went to work when they saw a woman in the audience lose her footing, performing CPR until an ambulance arrived. “I stood up and suddenly 1,000 eyes were upon me,” Kasper said. “In that moment, I blocked everything else out because that’s what we’d do if we were in a hospital.” Added Yasin, “our actions happened automatically once we knew someone was in danger.” Both were honored at a recent Tinley Park Village Board of Trustees meeting. 7-Year-Old’s Heroic Swim
Chase Poust is only 7, but braved the same St John’s River current of that swept his dad and 4-year-old sister away from their anchored fishing boat, swimming against the swift current to get help. He was scared and the swim was tough, he said later, but it all worked out well. “We’re here. By the grace of God, we’re here,” dad Steven Poust told local news outlet. Teen Takes On A Bear
Incidents once rewound only in the memory can be played again and again thanks to cell phone video cameras. That means Bradbury, California, 17-year-old Hailey Morinico will be able to relive again and again the moment she shoved a mama bear off her backyard wall as it swatted at her dogs. “The bear is literally picking up one of my dogs,” she said in a Tik-Tok video. “Her name is Valentina, she is the baby and as her slave, I have to protect her.” By Kat Schuster for Monrovia, California, Patch
140 Years Of Hair
For 140 years, through the longer hairstyles men wore in the late 1880s through the butch and buzz cuts and undercuts and man buns, Lincoln Way Barber Shop has been a mainstay in Plainfield, Illinois. Founder Albert Worst, current owner 84-year-old Don Kinley’s great-grandfather, dubbed it “the worst barber shop in Plainfield.” It wasn’t, of course, because men and boys kept coming through four generations of Worst’s family. Now, they’re offering $1.40 haircuts as part of the celebration, which Sharon Kinley said is “not just about the Worsts and the Kinleys; it’s about the barbers that have been — good barbers.” By Emily Rosca for Plainfield, Illinois, Patch
Young Stylist Sharpening Her Scissors
In East Orange, New Jersey, 18-year-old Maylani Brown is just starting to sharpen her scissors as she becomes the city’s youngest small storefront business owner with Maylani’s Beauty Garden. City officials called her “truly inspirational” at a business launch event, praising the Bronx, New York, native for both her entrepreneurial spirit and her appreciation for the diversity of East Orange. Veteran is Finally Home
Vainuupo Avegalio was a U.S. Army sergeant. He’s an artist and a poet. And until recently, the Virginia veteran was homeless, living on the road as he traveled around the country conducting workshops for at-risk kids, inmates, first responders, veterans and people living with mental illness. Last month, he got to the keys to a fully furnished home and “the miracle of having a house is almost more than his mind can process,” according to HeroHomes Loudoun, the organization that made it possible. These Families Got Keys, Too
Homeownership is a dream come true for three Newark, New Jersey, families, too, thanks to a community program that converts formally blighted properties into attractive homes for low- and moderate-income residents. “It hasn’t hit me that I’m really a homeowner — something I always wanted to be,” said Charlene Spann as she received the keys to her new home. Finally Able To Ride The Subway
Subway riders with mobility issues have another option when they want to take the subway in New York City with the completion of a project to make the 57th Street-Seventh Avenue station into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. “For far too long, wheelchair users like myself — riders with vision or hearing disabilities, seniors who have difficulties with stairs, parents with children in strollers and so many others — have struggled to get around a system that wasn’t built with us in mind,” Quemuel Arroyo, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s chief accessibility officer, said at a news conference. “That’s changing now.” By Sarah Belle Lin for Midtown-Hell’s Kitchen, New York, Patch

A Taste of History
With the launch of Knafeh Queens, Fatmah Muhammad is offering a taste of her history with Knafeh, a recipe passed down through the generations of her family from their village in Palestine to Southern California. The sweet and salty, gooey, cheesy and buttery phyllo dessert adored throughout Palestine and is seen as a dish that unites. “It’s something that as a Palestinian little girl, growing up, it was a lot of my amazing memories revolve around Knafeh,” she said. “It’s a dessert that unites people. It’s usually served at celebrations, family events, birthdays.” By Nicole Charky for Los Angeles Patch

A Strike Against ALS
Mike and Beth Snedden are loyal Chicago White Sox fans, but Thursday’s home game against the Detroit Tigers was special for the couple. It was Lou Gehrig Day across Major League Baseball, and Mike was scheduled to throw out the first pitch and 100 of his friends and family members were invited to watch him do it. He was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease — amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS, as it is formally known — last year. By Andrea Earnest for Frankfort, Illinois, Patch
Honk If You Want Books
A family of geese walked into a Barnes & Noble store in Deerfield, Illinois, causing quite a stir among customers as they “browsed” the shelves and headed toward the music section. The geese, a pair of adults and goslings, eventually left on their own, but not before a customer captured it all on video. By Eric DeGrecie for Deerfield, Illinois, Patch

Beer for the Body, BBQ for the Soul: Doc’s Smokehouse + Craft Bar Mokena
Old Lagrange Road, Mokena
This place has no business being this good.
Located in the deep south burb of Mokena is Doc’s third Smokehouse location. Word is that co owner Brent Brashier was managing hotel restaurants in Milwaukee when he decided to start his own project. He desired something that was more reflective of his passions…authentic southern barbecue became the mission.
righteous bloodys
3 of 5 house sauces
manhattans aged in journeyman distillery bbls
Burnt Ends are available only on Sundays with a happy hour running all day. There’s something enchanting about over 200 bottles of whiskey decorating the bar here. Manhattans are aged in a Journeyman’s Distillery barrel right next to 60 (sixty!) draft lines.
While the decision of which bourbons to carry is a group effort, Manager Eric Anderson runs the beer program. He’s hosting a Sour Fest here Labor Day Weekend.
This is Beer Country. Crafted Bottle Shop and Tribes Alehouse are both in Mokena. Neighboring Tinley Park is home to three breweries including reigning United States IPA Champions, Hailstorm. The challenge here to is to ensure the core audience always has a beer experience that you likely won’t find at a nearby grocery store.
We stumbled into Doc’s the Sunday morning after Great Taste of The Midwest. After diving into some righteous bloody marys, we worked our way through drafts we’ve never even heard of (Half Acre’s From The Trees mango, kiwi pale ale).
Brickstone Beyond The Juice
Manager, Eric Anderson
Brewery of the Month: Solemn Oath
200 bourbons + whiskys
Eric was a manager at the original Tribes, it was one of those rare venues that happened to be in the burbs. The reality is, before focusing on beer production it was one of the best bars in the state regardless of location.
Mokena Doc’s is sprawling space with two event rooms and seating capacity near 300. The food speaks for itself up in this joint. Crews like this one that puts as much care and attention into sides as the meat are doing the Lord’s work. The burnt ends arrived with no less than four house made sauce options. Sticky, smoky, caramelized nuggets served with a proper mac and cheese, house pickles and baked beans.
DigitalPour beautifully displays the extensive taplist over the bar on two 50-inch monitors. When you check in on Swarm/ Foursquare and Untappd your photo and beer appears on the digital feed. I cheered like a soccer mom when my face popped up. An icon displaying how much beer is left in each keg makes helps you prioritize your options.
room for 300 including 2 private event spaces
Half Acre From The Trees, mango, guava, 3 hop pale ale
brisket smoked 14hrs over hickory
60 on draft
Labor Day Weekend’s Sour Fest Invasion will include gems like Sour Note Blueberry Gose and Ommengang’s Royal Reserve Collection: Queen Of The Seven Kingdom. The Belgian Sour Ale Blend is the latest in Ommegang’s Game Of Thrones inspired collection.
On Black Friday Founders Barrel Runner (mosaic pale aged rum barrels) and Dogfish Head’s criminally underrated Palo Santo will be tapped. I tried to get more info but that would spoil the surprises.
Doc’s Smokehouse & Craft Beer Bar Mokena is located at 19081 Old Lagrange Road in Mokena
–Nkosi
Other Notes:
-Happy Hour runs Monday – Friday 3-6pm and all day on Sunday. It includes $2 off all Illinois breweries and 1$ off all other drafts.
-Whiskey of the Month is Belle Meade
-Beer of the Month is Solemn Oath
-Every Thanksgiving Doc’s calls surrounding Police & Fire Departments for a holiday staff head count. They feed the entire crew working that day. In 2017 that number was 200.
-Police receive 50% off everyday
-The other two Doc’s locations are Dyer, IN + Milwaukee, WI
19081 Old Lagrange Rd, Mokena

Emord’s Sacred Fire of Liberty, First Amendment, Hate Speech, Impeachment hearings, Real ID, FDA attacks Homeopathy, Dr. Sherri Tenpenny, vScience Bites, Gardasil and MORE!
Oct 24, 2019 3-5PM ET
Thursday on The Robert Scott Bell Show:
Sacred Fire of Liberty!
It’s that time of the week where we get to explore the political healing that this country needs so desperately! Jonathan Emord is back to help us dissect the latest political news that’s fit to print:
Majority of Americans Want to Scrap First Amendment, Polling Finds New Campaign For Free Speech polling results demonstrate just how vulnerable free speech protections are in the United States.CFS polling results show:
51% of Americans think the First Amendment is outdated and should be rewritten. The First Amendment protects your right to free speech, free assembly, and freedom of religion, among other things.
48% believe “hate speech” should be illegal. (“Hate speech” is not defined—we left it up to the individual participant.) Of those, about half think the punishment for “hate speech” should include possible jail time, while the rest think it should just be a ticket and a fine.
80% don’t actually know what the First Amendment really protects. Those polled believed this statement is true: “The First Amendment allows anyone to say their opinion no matter what, and they are protected by law from any consequences of saying those thoughts or opinions.”
Boston mulls banning b-word after woman cries of hurt feelings A Democrat serving Boston, state Rep. Dan Hunt, has successfully pushed forward for vote a bill, House No. 3719, aimed at banning use of the b-word (rhymes with ditch, hitch and — Happy Halloween to the kiddies — witch). Well now, at the risk of leading the city of the original freedom fighting tea partier down another path of censorship — holy sh—. (Rhymes with twit.) Ain’t that a new twist on freedom of speech. The ban, it should be noted, wouldn’t affect those who use the word in loving context, as in a guy introducing his new gal pal to his group, “Hey, meet my new b—.” Nope; the ban only applies when the word’s about to be slung to demean. “A person who uses the word ‘bitch’ directed at another person to accost, annoy, degrade or demean the other person shall be considered a disorderly person, in violation of this section, and shall be subject to … penalties, ” the pertinent section of the proposed amendment to Section 53 of Chapter 272 of existing General Laws states.
House Republicans storm secure room, demand access to impeachment inquiry proceedings House Republicans on Wednesday stormed the secure room where lawmakers have been conducting the impeachment probe against President Trump, upending a scheduled deposition as they demanded fairness from the Democrats running the show. The move enraged Democrats, who said as part of their protest the Republican lawmakers carried electronics into the secure area, creating a potential security lapse. They demanded the 30 or so Republican protesters face ethics charges. GOP lawmakers brushed those complaints aside, saying the hearing they disrupted, involving Defense Department official Laura Cooper, was not classified, and saying Democrats have broken the rules of fairness by shutting them out of the impeachment process. “House Democrats are bypassing constitutional norms and basic standards of due process with their impeachment obsession,” said Rep. Mark Walker, North Carolina Republican. “The president is not above justice. But, as you know, neither is he below it.”
Vaccines now being used to harvest biometric identities of everyone; Big Brother merges with Big Pharma It’s all happening, just as we predicted. Big Pharma is officially partnering with the tech industry to pair “immunization” with digital biometrics, meaning humans will soon be microchipped, tracked, and ultimately controlled through a global identification matrix. The ID2020 Alliance, as it’s being called, is a digital identity program that aims to “leverage immunization” as a means of inserting tiny microchips into people’s bodies. In collaboration with the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations, also known as GAVI, the government of Bangladesh and various other “partners in government, academia, and humanitarian relief,” the ID2020 Alliance hopes to usher in this mark of the beast as a way to keep tabs on every human being living on Earth. Similar to how cattle are marked with ear tags, this globalist alliance wants all humans to be “vaccinated” with digital tracking chips that will create a seamless monitoring system for the New World Order to manage the populations of the world with ease.
Real ID laws are a back door to adult vaccine mandates across the U.S., experts say While the pro-vaccine mainstream media is busy trying to convince the masses to willingly inject themselves with Big Pharma’s toxic vaccine cocktails, the Deep State is marching towards total vaccine tyranny — starting with stamping out free speech, and ending with vaccine mandates. And this isn’t just a theory; pro-liberty experts have just uncovered a startling truth: The Real ID Act of 2005 has already created a “backdoor” to vaccine mandates for adults in the United States. This is bad news for anyone who believes in freedom and a person’s right to making their own decisions regarding their medical care. The Deep State is trampling all over the Constitution in an effort to gain more power, no doubt in a last-ditch effort to usurp control of the American people.
Statement on the agency’s efforts to protect patients from potentially harmful drugs sold as homeopathic products The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes that consumers may use various types of unapproved drugs, such as homeopathic drug products, to treat or relieve different diseases and conditions. These products are often marketed as natural alternatives to approved prescription and nonprescription products and are widely available in the marketplace. Homeopathic products, however, are marketed without FDA review and may not meet modern standards for safety, effectiveness, quality and labeling. FDA uses a risk-based approach to monitor these products and to evaluate reports of adverse effects. Homeopathy is an alternative medical practice developed in the late 1700s that is based on the principle that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in diluted form to treat symptoms and illnesses, also known as “like cures like.” Homeopathic drug products are made from a wide range of substances, including ingredients derived from plants, healthy or diseased animal or human sources, minerals and chemicals, including known poisons.

Slipknot Fan Dies After Apparent Mosh Pit Fall in Tinley Park
A 62-year-old man died after apparently falling in a mosh pit throughout Slipknot’s “Knotfest Roadshow” live performance on the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois, over the weekend.
Patch.com reviews that Richard Valadez of Zion, Illinois, was pronounced lifeless at 11:34 p.m. on Sunday night time (August 11th). While there is no such thing as a official reason behind loss of life, as outcomes of an post-mortem are nonetheless pending, witnesses say that Valadez was knocked to the bottom in a mosh pit close to part 206 of the out of doors venue.
Fellow concert-goers say that some mosh pits fashioned in the garden part in the back of the venue, and that Valadez had joined in on just a few of them. At one level, about an hour into Slipknot’s set, whereas the band was performing “Sulfur”, Valadez was apparently hit exhausting and fell out of the pit and onto the grass.
“He seized as people were trying to help him up, so we start calling for help,” stated Anthony Mackey, who added that he and different concertgoers tried to push again the gang to guard Valadez whereas he was on the bottom.
Two unidentified males reportedly tried CPR on Valadez, with witnesses saying it took 15 to 25 minutes for emergency personnel to reach due to the big crowd, loud noise and normal confusion surrounding the incident. “They definitely should have handled things better: More emergency presence for one. And a better way for people to alert that they need help,” stated one other witness, Brittany Ruel-Curtis.

Prior to the tragic incident, witnesses say Valdez seemed to be having a superb time on the present. “He seemed fine throughout the concert, though, enjoying the music and drinks and talking to the people who sat in front of me,” stated Ruel-Curtis.
