Dug up some of my old art from when I was 15 (yr 2000) and did a progress chart, and it's crazy how far I've gone in 17 years. I'm in a place now I actually never really thought I would get to, but dreamed of getting to. I worked, stressed myself out something a little too much (I am definitely my own worst critic!) because I didn't think I was getting it and I felt so stuck...

Then something clicked around 2015 and I got it. I felt like I crossed some invisible barrier, and I'm still not sure how to feel about it, but it's a good feeling. It's... bizarre. To think that I am where the artists I admired growing up were, like I leveled up and as much as I don't like the idea of me being the artist others look up to, I've gotten enough comments to know I am there.

I'm still growing, I can still improve, and I will continue to work on that, but this growth is more than just about skill. On this journey I learned a lot about myself, and about patience, and dedication to a piece. I'm still a scatter brained idiot on many things, but at least I have proven to myself that I can achieve what I set out to, that my passions in art can be realized. All those years of frustration have paid off. It took me until I was 30, but I still have (hopefully) many more years to discover more...
