You breathed deeply, letting your leathery wings stretch out behind you. You loved the way the sea air swept through them.

You laughed to yourself as you thought of the irony. A dragon man who lived on the beach of all places.

You’d traded the fiery pits of your home in a volcano for the sand and surf. What would your father think?

You settled down on the ledge above your shared cave, your wings still fluttering behind you.

Sighing, you looked up at the bright moon above you, shining down on the beach, the cave, and everything else it touched with its eerie glow.

Your eyes fluttered closed as you relished the comfortable silence and the breeze. You always felt so at peace in the quiet embrace of the night.

“Want some company?” A familiar voice asked from behind you.

The corner of your lip tugged up in excitement. “Always,” you turned to extend a clawed hand to your perfect mate. Your David.

The bleach blond vampire flashed you a rare smile and came to sit by your side. You draped a wing around him, pulling him closer until your hips touched.

You could have sworn a blush ghosted over his cheeks, but it was too brief to tell. Your smile widened as you threaded your claws with his fingers.

“I’m not interrupting your alone time?” he asked.

“Not at all,” you ran your hand through his hair affectionately. “Most dragons spend their lives alone, your company’s a treasure.”

David seemed to relax into your wing. You let it hold him closer.

“I know how you dragons love treasure,” he teased.

You chuckled, your tail coming around to flick him on the ear. “I wouldn’t make so many treasure jokes, I’ve got a million blood jokes locked and loaded.”

David snorted. “Guess it’s true what they say about people in glass houses huh?”

You smiled, your golden eyes taking in his bright blue ones. Your gaze traveled along the slope of his stubbly jaw, his handsome face.

“Guess so,” you whispered, leaning in just a little closer to the blond man.

David figured out pretty quickly where your thoughts were headed as he leaned in too. One of his gloved hands reached out to caress your cheek. The other found it’s way into your hair.

You tilted your head, careful not to bump his forehead with your horns, and allowed your eyes to flutter closed.

Your ancient heart leapt in your chest as his cold lips pressed against your warm ones.

You sighed into the kiss, allowing your forked tongue to slide into his soft mouth, exploring and running over his sharp fangs.

After a while, he pulled away to stare into your eyes.

You loved him like this. His big, tough guy facade melting away.

To the boys he was a fearsome leader, barking orders and commanding obedience. To the humans he was a terrifying Spector of death, tearing through the population until there was nothing left.

To you, he was home.

When he looked at you with those baby blues, when he smiled at you like you’d hung the moon, you felt alive, you felt young again.

You reached out, your claws raking affectionately down his cheek.

He leaned into your touch. His hand slid over yours and he turned to plant a kiss on your palm.

“You’re awfully affectionate tonight,” you whispered, a smile pulling at the corner of your mouth

“Too much?” he asked.

“Never too much,” you reassured him, your wing cradling him closer to you once more.

“Didn’t think you’d wanna kiss an old guy like me though,” you teased.

David smirked, “I forgot you’re ancient,” he admitted, “it’s usually me that’s robbing the cradle.”

You laughed, “well you don’t have to worry about that.”

“No kidding,” his eyebrow raised, “how was the renaissance?”

You snorted, “yeah yeah you joke, but I had a lot more gold back then. People just don’t sacrifice like they used to anymore ya know?”

“I blame smart phones,” David shrugged.

You smiled, “damn technology.”

“Calm down grandpa,” David snickered, “you’re startin’ to sound like old Mr. Emerson.”

You glared, “not. funny.”

His head found it’s way onto your shoulder, “yes it is,” he hummed.

You shook your head, laughing softly to yourself, your claws stroking over his scalp. “It’s a good thing you’re cute.”

“You’re not bad yourself,” he flirted, “how’d you getta look so handsome anyway, shouldn’t you be full lizard.”

“Mom was a human, dad was a dragon,” you said simply, “that’s how I got the horns, the tail, the wings, the eternal life…all that good stuff, and these rugged humanlike good looks too.”

David tensed, lifting his head off your shoulder and shooting you a confused look.

“Your father was a dragon and your mother was…human?”

Your teeth clenched, “listen babe, I try not to dwell on the mechanics of it all.”

David laughed deep in his throat, more amused then you’d ever heard him.

“Fair enough,” David said through a fit of laughter.

You rolled your eyes, “can you just put your head back on my shoulder?”

His fanged smile filled you with warmth as he returned to resting against you.

“Tell me another story about the time you spent with your kind?” he asked, letting his eyes fall shut as you blanketed him with your wing.

“Anything for you,” you uttered as you began to recall yet another tale for him.

You were glad your father had blessed you with an eternal life. You were grateful to spend it just like this.

[i'm sorry this has taken me so long i've been picking away at this since you sent it 😶 apologies for the verbosity, but you got me started and i couldn't stop lmao]

I have SO MANY facts I want to share about my characters 👀 are they fun? ehhhhh. They sure are facts.

The big scar on Auric's face is from his sister's ex. He was jealous and abusive and the one time he flew into a rage in Auric's presence, he stepped in and took the hits so she could run. He almost died then. When he woke up his head was in her lap, he was surrounded by blood, and the abusive ex was dead.

He and Gale settled down after the events of the game, got married, and opened a tavern outside of Waterdeep with his sister and her love, Halsin. They have a teleportation circle in the basement connected to Gale's tower and they basically treat it like a guest house. They've also set up a place for Astarion in the basement so he can stay there whenever he's handy. He still doesn't really like Astarion, but his sister pleaded and he couldn't say no.

Ciaran collected every poetry book, love letter, and diary he could find once he started to get feelings for Gale. He also bothered everyone in the party constantly(Gale included) about what love is, how do you know that's what you're feeling, what do you do about it? He had no frame of reference for love so the whole thing was completely foreign to him. He was like an alien trying to learn human customs. He thought he was being sneaky.

Now that he's no longer trying to die all the time, he's taken up painting and gotten pretty damn good at it, too.

Jinx is 43 years old. Technically.

His skin used to be more red, but a wild magic surge turned him blue and the colour never totally faded.

He's demisexual

Fully incapable of picking up when he's being flirted with. He doesn't think he's handsome, or ugly. He's just Jinx.

He'll try literally anything once, so he let Astarion bite him, and then let him drain him because he'd never been bitten by a vampire before, and never died before. He turned him down for sex though because "I've already had gay sex before :) thanks though!" Astarion is still reeling from that one.

Amaris is one half of a splintered soul. They grew up with their other half as their best friend and had no idea.

The illithid abduction went funky and rather than just scooping them up into the nautiloid, it shunted them into an entirely different, mirrored reality. It wasn't until before the push on moonrise that they learned the truth.

Their best friend and other half had a massive crush on the infamous Gale of Waterdeep that they used to give her hell about all the time. Until they met him, and fell for him too.

Luckily, due to alternate universe fuckery, they each got a Gale and everyone is happy.

Naught is something of an urban legend to people who travel the roads outside Baldur's Gate. He hunted highwaymen with the help of his birds Quothe and Madge. Known only as The Raven on account of the only warning of their presence being a ruffle of feathers and the cry of ravens before the arrows would start flying.

He took payment for his heroism in money, food, or sex. Whatever was on offer.

Before they hit Baldur's Gate and rented out the Elfsong they hadn't slept in a bed in over 10 years.

Their boyfriend was teaching him to read before the fire that killed him and sent Naught on the run. As such, the lad still can't fucking read.

Apparently their type is nerds who are older than him.

Jack married his ex-wife when he was 18.

Has two kids - a son and a daughter - and a grandchild on the way.

His job in the city was general labour. Lifting, fixing, building, cleaning. Anything that paid.

His ex-wife, and therefore his kids, are dwarves. He's 6'5. There's a bit of a height difference there.

He plays the drums.

Ilztaufein is a name he gave himself after escaping the fall of Ched Nasad.

He'd only been training as a wizard for about 10 years when he left. Still though, he thinks he's hot shit and won't hear otherwise.

The only wizard he thinks is better than himself is Gale. Elminster is a nobody in his eyes.

He's 5'4!

For all his big talk he's kind of terrified of women and will automatically obey any order given to him by any of the women in the party. Except for Shadowheart..who he killed......And Mystra... who he's got plans for.

He's been researching the gods after hearing Mystra's order for Gale's sacrifice. He wants to usurp her.

Most of his work on the surface has been in and around Waterdeep, and he's been to Blackstaff Academy a number of times in that time, in disguise, trading information.

He doesn't understand how humans age.

He's never seen a cat in person until they entered Last Light. He's obsessed with them (they're regal, vicious, fancy little bitches. Just like him). The first time he sees one with fur he's going to lose his damn mind.

He's never been with a human before. It's only been drow and the occasional surface elf. Gale's body hair is magical to him and he's not at all subtle about it.

He's 6'2.

Muse more or less adopted Flair - his partner in crime - when they were still teenagers. He saw this homeless kid trying to flirt with him after one of his shows and, like one might with a pet, decided this one was his and took her in. He taught her everything he knew about flirting, manipulation, and getting away with it.

Astarion clocked them both as thieves right away when they met Gale and immediately started trying to use thieves cant to communicate to each other that he was the perfect mark, and whose turn it was to do the flirting.

They caught on that Astarion was on to them later, so Muse was tasked with distracting him, lest Astarion rat them out or, worse, take their mark out from under their noses.

Absolutely devastated when Astarion started using the same tactics on him that he'd used on his targets and that shit actually worked.

He's really bad at the whole...feeling your real genuine emotions...thing. He's been writing songs about Astarion trying to sort out his feelings, rather than..yknow. talking to anyone. at all. ever.

He got really mad at Flair when she started giving Gale expensive items so he wouldn't explode. He voted to send the wizard to the underdark cause he wasn't worth the trouble.

He smells like patchouli and vanilla.

If anyone pays attention to my weird anime recommendations besides friends I pester -

Tsurune was absolutely lovely and emotional even tho it’s *technically* a sports anime. It’s about Kyudo, traditional Japanese archery.

Sasaki & Miyano is just perfect as a BL and the dub is incredible with so many hilarious sound bites and a queer cast. I have actually watched it like 8 times in the last month and half. Judge me.

Fairy Gone is considered a bad original anime series apparently, but I enjoyed what I’ve watched so far. Mobster/Military with fae and fantasy elements.

Hell’s Paradise just came out and it seems like it’ll be done well. Soulless mercenary who travels to the underworld to get a pardon and return to the only thing he lives for - his wife.

Ancient Magus Bride was lovely, season 2 is coming out this month, April. Sorry but skull daddy is for me 🤡

SUGAR APPLE FAIRY TALE - so great I have watched it 2 or three times now. It does end on a frustrating note be warned, and I guess the whole thing is frustrating. But it is enjoyable nonetheless

Do you think there are certain things that confuse Carlisle because he’s an old man not from this time period? Technology? Language? Social cues and womens rights? Sexuality? Not like gay stuff, I’m sure he gets that. More like people are more open about being sexual and talk about sex and wear sexy revealing clothing a lot.

Maybe? But just like anyone facing something new takes a time to accept, familiarize and understand it, nothing more. Surviving hundreds of years as a vampire makes him in turn less likely to let him hold on to things tightly.

Carlisle is a vampire, not a time traveller to the future. If he wants to stay integrated into human society, his ideas and values have to evolve with it, because the generations that defend the "old ways" always be died eventually (except for a very few individual vampires, but they can't stop the change of the whole society). If we look at things from vampires' long-period perspective, for example, in the early modern era most women were unable to read professional medical works let alone practice the profession, then in the 18th century there were very few women graduating from medical school, but they were excluded from the hospital; during WWI and WWII women medical workers were mostly nurses; by 1970 25% of medical school applicants were women and by 2003 it was 50% but female doctors nowadays are still trying to break the glass ceiling of gender bias and stereotypes. You know what I mean? like the "old" and "new" definitions of today's generation of humans don't mean anything for those vampires who have lived for centuries. They have no way to hold on to some of the ideas of the time they were born because those ideas don't exist anymore. What about the "old stuff" that still exists today? Surely he could have judged at revealing clothing of young people like some stubborn and conservative 90-year-old, thinking a female surgeon can't perform better than a man. But why would he? he knows things will change eventually, his experience of witnessing the world develop over the past few centuries is more likely to give him an open mind.

Chronorun Reports notes:

Van Helsing, Jekyll, and Mrs. Frankenstein (Victor's mom) are siblings with Abraham and Henry being twins and Caroline being a few years younger (specific ages will have to wait until my brain decides that doing math is worth it)

(they are all a mix of Dutch, British, and Swiss btw)

(yes this means that Victor is Van Helsing's and Jekyll's nephew)

Van Helsing formed the HOSC to essentially bring light to all of the scientific discoveries that are happening (Jekyll's serum, any supernatural being he encountered, the time machine, Victor's creation, Griffin's invisibility, and more) but not without the house members' consent

Now let's get into the plot- a good amount of people in this universe have powers (almost all of the members of both societies have powers)

They are as follows:

Van Helsing- gains an ability of whatever type of entity he conquers (if he were to slay a vampire he would only get one of the abilities shared within all vamps. Ie teleportation) as well as natural immunity to most (not all) supernatural attacks and anomalistic mastery (or that could just be from his job)

Jekyll- technically he speaks to Hyde through telepathy as well as having telekinesis

Hyde- telepathy like Jekyll (because of course) and the ability to teleport objects and people away from and to him

(Jekyll and Hyde are forced to work together because they are not able to do what the other can as well as the other)

Victor- weather control (I just wanted to reference the movies, I think he would use it to help him animate the creation)

Griffin- now I know you might think that I'm going to make his invisibility his power, but that's not the case. He can however talk to animals, he just doesn't want anyone to know.

Time traveler- let's get the obvious out of the way, he can see any point in time (past present, and future), and it proved very helpful (but overwhelming and contributes to his time blindness)

Sherlock- like the time traveler, he could be obvious (giving him some kind of hyper-intelligence) so I'll give him tactical analysis and the hyper intertellince (or he could not have the ability and just be that smart, I haven't decided yet)

Watson- since he's a physician and royal army surgeon (according to Wikipedia), giving him a healing ability (more so healing others) would be a fair but obvious move. However, I want his medical knowledge to be utilized (meaning he would use actual medical practices instead of relying on powers) so the proper techniques would still have to be used (more so internal and really bad external wounds, broken bones, and deep/wide cuts being examples)

Gwen- now she could be a little difficult (considering the fact she is someone else's oc and I'm a bit scared to ask because it might look like I'm stealing their idea) so I'll move on for now. (she could have enhanced reflexes as it would be really helpful)

Switching gears to more general ideas (I'm looking for a reason to segway into the investigative committee's powers)

Griffin and the time traveler don't use their names for reasons they'd rather not admit (it has something to do with their experiments)

Van Helsing and Jekyll may make it look like they hate Victor (because he's an irresponsible, spoiled, college dropout who can be a bit of a nervous wreck at the most inconvenient times possible) but they're still trying to help him get over everything (and to take some god damn responsibly for once in his life)

Van Helsing and Watson are transcribing past journals, audio logs (the series takes place in the 21st century), and more as a part of the whole "bring light to all of the scientific discoveries that are happening" thing the HOSC does

The HOSC is very queer (not really with each other but you know)

Jekyll is a trans, ace, gay man (maybe Hyde too, he hasn't really thought about it, both he/him though)

Victor is pansexual and nonbinary (he/they)

Griffin is a bi demi-boy (also he/they)

Sherlock seems to be more interested in his work than in relationships (aroace cis man)

Watson is more open to the idea than Sherlock is though, at some point being stated to have said "I think everyone looks nice, does that mean im attracted to everyone? No not everyone, but certain people attract me more than others." (doesn't put a label on gender either but uses he/it/they)

Time Traveler is a theatre kid so he is probably the most open with his sexuality and gender (gay nonbinary dude using they/it)

Again, I have no idea for Gwen as she is not my character (well none of them are, I might have one at some point but thats not what I'm here for) so I either ask the creator or leave her as unlabelled (which might not be a bad idea actually) although the picrew shows her as aroace

Van Helsing might be the only straight one (I say might be because he doesn't know, still uses he/him though)

Now for the Missing person's investigative committee: they are in charge of finding out the who, where, what, why, when, and how of missing person cases

Utterson and Poole started it after Jekyll faked his death, which happened about a week after Van Helsing got back from killing Dracula (so it was like 7 years ago based on Quincey jr's age in the main story)

I'm now imagining a very stressed Van Helsing hearing about his brother supposedly killing himself because his latest experiment went tits up (excuse me while I try not to cry)

Their powers are:

Utterson- since he's a lawyer, giving him something like Holmes' hyper-intelligence (if it's his ability at all) is kinda obvious so some kind of adaptive ability could be fun (body language analysis could be useful)

Poole- super speed to help him with all of his duties (and in case of emergencies)

Mycroft- I kinda want his to be out of the park but still useful in a way, fuck it he can turn off others' abilities either by touching them or snapping his fingers

Walton- some kind of internal GPS for his traveling

Kemp- I tried reading the invisible man wiki to see what kind of doctor he is (he did go to a medical school so that could help) but couldn't really find anything so im going in sorta blind. I'm just going to make him a shapeshifter

Now that that is out of the way, few more things until pride shit

If someone pisses off Mycroft, their powers are just gone for the day (which could be devasting if they piss him off during a very important mission)

Walton being the youngest (younger than Hyde but older than Victor) means he is often the fastest and most agile of the group (until Poole uses his super speed obviously)

He's basically the group's son (at least to most of them, Mycroft might have some warming up to do)

Now, pride:

Utterson- Jekyll's husband (cis bi man, uses he/him)

Poole- unlabeled sexuality (aro he/it user)

Mycroft- like Van Helsing, he might be the only straight one (uses he/him)

Walton- trans, demisexual man (he/them/it)

Kemp- omnisexual nonbinary (they/them)

Part of what I love about rotational play is my sims being able to visit family that I'm not having to control. Keira is close with her family, Joey's sister Devin is one of his best friends and with Alexander's parents gone he has to make new family. Since I couldn't keep to my normal limit I decided to throw caution to the wind and let families catch up.

Keira: How was your shift

Marta: People always need coffee, how was class

So another one this time vampire themed.

Museum rules and Clara is the evil one k cool

He remembers the bite. He was a shy 22 year old, in his first gay bar and wasn't even truly out of the closet yet. He was about to start his new job on his father's request, and he hasn't spoken to that man in years, but the note was in his mother's handwriting which actually made him take the job. It was an older man he slipped something into his drink, and then a younger one playing hero took him home, well, not home.

He woke up in the woods shirt covered in blood, a note taped to his chest, and a weird necklace. The note said good luck and try not to burn if you actually turned. He didn't really understand it at first, but when the sun started to poke through the trees, he put on the necklace, and that seemed to stop the burning.

Then came job he barely survived the beginning, he ran into another right before his new job started, he was starving and nothing helped. The older woman took pity on him and helped him out in exchange he described the man to the best of abilities to her, and she shoved a note in his pocket and gave him a cup of red liquid that seemed to fix his hunger.

He has seen enough horror films to know what happened, but a lot of fiction got things wrong. Like turning another person isn't erotic unless you're soul mates, garlic isn't deadly, you can eat normal food, and it just won't do anything. You can see yourself in mirrors because there is no more silver. Welcome mats are enough to let you into a house. It has to be wooden to kill you. He learned that in the scooping room.

Things fiction got right was the bloodlust. If he misses at least one maybe two days, he can not be around the living. Coconut water does work, but it will only work for a week before you have to drink blood again. If you drain a person, there is only a 25% chance they will turn, but giving them your blood is a 100% chance. That's where the erotic nature comes from. The sun will turn you to ash if you don't have a protective charm. They are pretty hard to make. He has three extras just in case. Silver burns like a bitch along with religious objects.

There is some weird something that he has confirmed himself to be fake, like the river thing and salt. He couldn't turn into a bat, but he did have bat wings and could turn to smoke. Also, not all vampires have red eyes, his turn purple when he can't control or uses his powers. He does have a coffin to sleep in for when he's traveling, but he prefers to sleep upside-down.

There is a system in place he has joined. It took him a bit, but he has a steady job of helping out other creatures. The money is decent, and he has a constant food source. He doesn't mind it, and he has gotten information about his family and the truth of what happened. He doesn't blame his father, and he does want to talk to him. It's also his partner, his soul mate, that convinced him to go to the museum. He wasn't ready to speak to his father, let alone explain why he hadn't aged. He hoped his uncle had passed on.

A blonde with a scar over his eye waved his hand. "Hey Mike, I'm over here! I saved you a spot on the line."

Micheal smiles and moves forward next to his partner. "I didn't think this place would be so popular, especially at night."

"You didn't have to bring that big thing with you." Jeremy huffs motioning to the coffin on his back.

Micheal gives a sheepish smile. "I don't know what else would have been a good example if he asked." He sighs. "I don't want someone to steal it again, I just put new straps on it."

Jeremy chuckles. "Alright Mr paranoid. Ooo, we're up next." He smiles. "Two people, please."

The man at the window smiles. "Of course, enjoy the horrors of the fazebear underbelly."

Micheal raised his brow and let him put the bracelet on. "Uh, right." He slips in with Jeremy. "I didn't think they would actually embrace the truth."

Jeremy puts his old security hat on. "There now you're acting the part, too."

Micheal snickers. "Yeah, yeah, come on." He grabs a map. "My father should be in the center. If his spirit lingers on."

"You know he has too. Maybe the kids moved on, so he's the only one left." Jeremy hums as they spill into the first attraction. "The mirrors are a neat addition. Look, they even have holograms of the children."

Micheal looks up at the first exhibit. It was the security puppet he recalled when his uncle made it. He said it was to protect the kids, but he knew it was for his daughter. Micheal crouched in front of the mirror. "I wonder how they got them so life like."

"I'm not life like I'm dead." The speaker crackles. "You have blue eyes like...." The girl jumps from the mirror and vanishes.

Micheal blinks. "Extremely life like, and they respond to voices too." He stands up straight. "Alright, on to the center."

"Wait, can we stop by foxy? I wanna see if there are any news articles about me." Jeremy smiles as he grabs Micheal's hand.

Micheal freezes as he hears static by his ears. "W-wait." He looks around but only sees the crowds of people. "Never mind, I must be hearing things."

"You probably need a new seal charm." Jeremy pauses. "Come on, let's go."

Micheal laughs. "Yeah, yeah."

"Daddy, Daddy!" The dirty brown hair girl jumps into the mirror by the spring trap exhibit.

The old man gets up from his bench and walks slowly to the mirror. "Charlie, what's wrong? Do you need me to close up?"

"No!" Charlie huffs, crossing her arms. "Guess who's visiting?"

Henry smiles. "Your mom isn't due out for another week, and your aunt Jen is with your cousin."

"Nooooo, Daddy. Mikey is here." Charlie giggles. "Mikey's here."

Henry pauses. "Oh sweetie, I don't think that's possible he got scooped. Remember what Lizzie told us?"

"No, it's true." Charlie points to the tall brunette in an old security hat and a blonde man attached to his arm. "See, that's Mikey. He's got the same scar on his face."

Henry looks back, adjusting his glasses. That man did remind him of William. He was approaching said man as he stood there.

Springtrap stood up as the man approached. He tilted his head. He was carrying a coffin. "Who are you?" A raspy electronic voice layered with a familiar British one alerted the brunette to the moving animotronic.

"Huh, I didn't think you would actually stay." Haunting blue eyes stared at the rust impossible moving machine. "Hello father, it's been a while, and it looks like you've kept yourself busy."

The springlock suit twists and stares at the taller man. ".... Micheal?"

Micheal nods. "Yeah, it's me." He gives a small smile. "I thought it would be nice to drop by for a visit. I didn't think it would be so busy."

Henry taps Micheal on his side. "Excuse me, are you going to ignore your uncle?"

Micheal whipped his head around. "You're still alive?"

"Micheal, that's rude." Jeremy huffs. "Apologises, Mr. Emily. It has been a while."

Henry pauses. "Jeremy, I'm glad to see you're doing well." He smiles. "I'm in my 70s, Micheal. I'm not quite in the grave yet."

Micheal rubs the back of his head, embarrassed. "Sorry..."

"That being said, why do you have a coffin on your back?" Henry raises his brow. "You don't look like you need it."

"It's a bit morbid." William sighs. "Are you doing penace?"

Micheal shakes his head. "Well, it is for me, and I don't want it to get stolen, I just fixed the straps." He frowns. "I didn't expect this place to be so busy either."

Jeremy shakes his shoulder. "Don't be so nervous. Your father is literally a corpse, and I'm sure the other spirits here want to know why you have such a young complexion."

Micheal sighs. "Ok, ok." He takes a breath he doesn't need. "I'll uh show an example." He makes sure his father and uncle are looking even Charlie was watching. He opens his mouth, and his fangs double in length. "I uh well, uh." He retracts his fangs, looking at the shocked face of his uncle. "So it turns out vampires are real, and I uh was turned in 92, so I'm stuck at this age."

"He turned me by accident in 93. However, I'm not mad it fixed my brain injury for the most part." Jeremy hums rocking on his heels.

Henry takes a breath, unable to speak out of shock.

William pauses. "To be fair, I am a corpse trapped in a rusted spring lock suit, so I'm not as shocked as you are." He sighs. "So you're taking your bed with you?"

Micheal crosses his arms. "Do you have any idea how expensive coffins are? I'm not going to buy a new one every time someone steals mine, so I made straps, and I carry it with me."

Jeremy chuckles. "To be fair, he has to pay extra because of how tall he is."

Micheal huffs. "Jeremy, stop it." He pauses. "We do die if we are exposed to the sun, or it hurts very bad. Depends on the exposure. We do have these protective charms that allow us in the sun and dampens our abilities and cravings." Micheal waves. "We ate before this, and uh, our blood supplies come from rejected or expired blood donations."

"Or coconut water if we're in a bind, but that's a temporary solution." Jeremy adds.

Henry chuckles. "Micheal, you're both in a crowded museum, I trust you two to be safe." He sighs. "Maybe come by my old home tomorrow night open invitation. We have to talk when there aren't hundreds of people."

Micheal nods. "I think I would like that."

'Don’t we all live our lives surrounded by ghosts? Some from the past, most in our heads, and others of those we’ve loved and lost. Andrew Haigh’s new film “All of Us Strangers” is a heartbreaking dirge, a whimsical swig at what could’ve been, the impossible longing to hold on, and undo the cruelty of life.

If you aren’t already in love with Andrew Scott and his unreal ability to make the inexplicable palpable, enough to make you think about his every performance for weeks, through this film, he gives you yet another chance. He is Adam, a solitary gay screenwriter who is one of the first inhabitants of a new high-rise apartment on the outskirts of London. He is trying to write about his childhood when one night, the only other dweller in the building shows up at his door with a bottle of Japanese whiskey and a plea to be allowed in.

He says there are vampires at his door. There’s an agonising anguish to his desperation, an infinite sadness in his eyes, it’s a scream to be saved. “How do you cope?” he asks Adam. This younger, painfully lonely man is Harry (Paul Mescal).

Adam soon finds himself on a train to Croydon, to the old suburban neighbourhood where he grew up. Unsure and with no clear purpose, he roams around his childhood home when he sees his father (Jamie Bell) calling out to him. He takes him home and there he meets his mother (Claire Foy).

His parents are the same age as they were when they got killed in a car crash on Christmas night 30 years ago. Adam was 12 then. This is the first time he has met them as an adult. It’s a time warp. They are a bit younger than he is.

In the course of the next few meetings, he gets to share with them everything that he never could; they were taken away from him too soon, too suddenly. In between all the catching up, he unlocks the closet, the skeletons tumble out, clearing room for some sunlight, and fresh air.

Each scene of Adam with his parents simmers with an aching vulnerability, a painful yearning, a throbbing tenderness. It’s marvellous how Haigh ensures that his parents don’t come across as mere shadows. He fleshes them out with such immaculate detail and earnestness, that he makes them look as real to us as they do to Adam.

Loosely based on the Japanese novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada, the film is sparsely populated—few dialogues, and fewer people. The eerie quietness that Harry keeps complaining about pulsates entirely through the 105 minutes, ominous and unsettling, a stark metaphor for both Adam and Harry’s tragic marginalization and acute isolation.

When Adam comes out to his mum, in response to her reaction and mounting fears, he keeps on saying, “Everything is different now.” It made me think of the scene in “Red White and Royal Blue” (2023) when Uma Thurman’s President finds out that her son (played by a distractingly handsome Taylor Zakhar Perez) is bisexual. Though both scenes feature mothers finding out about the queerness of their sons, they couldn’t be more different. Half a century of awareness, struggles, and sacrifices lie in this chasm. So much has changed since the 1980s. And yet, so much woefully remains the same.

Adam wanting to prevent the death of his parents or yearning to stay with them just a little bit longer also reminded of The Time Traveler’s Wife and how, even if you get to experience something as mind-boggling as time travel and be with your beloved dead again, certain rules are stubborn enough to persist, even in the realm of the fantastical. You cannot prevent death, our fabulists seem to warn us over and over, no matter how hard you may try.

The time that Adam and Harry spend in bed not having sex but talking, listening, touching, spooning, sharing the most intimate of intimacies, warmth, feeling safe, and wanted, and at home teleported me to Jordan and Heer from Rockstar (2011) playing between pristine white sheets away from the world and its deafening noise, revelling in stillness, loving and being loved. Isn’t everything that we do an attempt to inch closer to this feeling, find it, and never let it go?

The heart-crushing end is so strongly reminiscent of Aftersun (2022), another glorious Paul Mescal movie, that it is impossible for you to not shatter to pieces. In one crucial scene, Adam asks his mum if it is all real. She answers by posing another question. “Does it feel real?” she asks him. He nods. There you go, she says. I want to add: Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.'

Unhappy in forks and would jump at any chance to do something exciting, but most of all, she would jump at any chance to get the fuck outta town!!! she has a tendency to be A Lot but with a little bit of tough love and time she can be a good friend and ally!! i dont know if she'd have any kind of special ability as a vampire,,, but i still think they could work.

kirsty cotton & samantha carpenter: final girls that say fuck you to their monsters Need to stand together. even if kirsty's were actually from Hell and sam's were just people that didnt know how to just Let Shit Go, theyre both still survivors and Badass Bitches and i simply think that they could kick ass together. kirsty in my portrayal does eventually go on to become a social worker so maybe she'd worked with sam/tara before idkidk i just think that they could be really a neat duo.

robin craig & natalie pace: i watched through all of lost like,, a year or two ago but my memory of it isnt 100% past the first few seasons (but now i lowkey,,, wanna rewatch it). robin playing natalie in a film adaptation of the crash of oceanic flight 815. NO but actually... i would not mind throwing robin into lost at all. traveling for work and all of a sudden damn,, ur stuck on an island girlie!! i could definitely see the two of them forming some kind of alliance or pact or somETHING though and just,, Looking Out for one another early on,, working together later when things start to get crazy on the island.

kirby reed & cindy berman: summer camp counselor kirby reed at ur service 🫡 kirby being just enough of a bad influence in cindy's life<3 jill who?? cindy is kirby's best friend now. sorry i don't make the rules. maybe theyre counselors in the same cabin??? Vampire!Shinichi. Working title: Different Means. This fic would also feature magicalblood!Kaito (he’s basically vampire catnip in this scenario, let’s be real) and would be rated E for sexy times as well as for violence. (Whump? You better believe it.) The idea belongs to @kiwi-tries-to-write and their friend, but I got real obsessed with it and they said it would be okay if I wrote my take on it : ) This would be a little bit of a longer fic – chapters instead of a one-shot.

Gay drama! Working title: runner. Kaito’s deeply closeted and dealing with some internalized homophobia and it’s ruining his and Shinichi’s relationship. Can love conquer all? Well this one’s got a happy ending, so yeah, I guess it can lol It will be rated either E or M for sexy times – not sure yet. I’m guessing this will be a one-shot.

Porn! Working title: It Was Only Just a Dream. Starts out with Shinichi having a sexy dream and Kaito doing a bit of voyeurism. Ends with actual sexy times~ Rated E. No plot. One-shot.

Blackout: the sequel to Tales of Travel in the Fall into Flying universe! I’ve been working on Blackout for probably three years now, and I’m still only halfway through the eighth chapter. The pandemic messed me up for a while, but if the people decree, I will get my butt back on track and focus in on this mighty beast of a story!

- What happened to Whitefang? Who is taking care of him? He is being taken care of? Loving home? Yes?

- What happened to Vampire Steve? He wasn't in the building when it collapsed, right?!

- WHAT DID YOU ACHIEVE BY KILLING MICHELLE?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!

- How did Al know about the masks if only Dale saw them in her vision?

- Lowell ate the brain of a gay man and became temporarily gay - no one else since got the sexuality of a brain they ate, what's with that?

- How did Graham know Enzo killed Steven and not Martin? Or did he kill him just because he knew he was somehow involved because he was there in the van?

- Why is everyone so mean to Enzo?? Maybe if you didn't relentlessly bully him for being French he wouldn't be so angry all the time just saying

- Are Blaine and Don E left to go romero or do they escape or are they rescued, cured and tried? Cus surely leaving two romeros in some well behind some mansion is kinda dangerous/a biohazard?

- How the heck did Enzo even meet Martin? Because they are very different people.. And was Enzo living with Martin after he was unfrozen? If so, who's taking care of his cats?

- WHO TAKES CARE OF ENZOS CATS AFTER HES DEAD?????

- After the cure is done, do all terminally ill humans from around the world get the opportunity to become zombies? Do they all go to Zombie Island, or is there more than one? Or is zombism only for Americans?

- With Zombie Island, are the zombies like killed or smthn after a certain time or will sick humans continue to go there until they can longer provide enough brains and New Seattle happens over again?

- People were unwilling to donate their brains, hence Blaine and Don E having to take over the brain importation, so what changed? Or are they still doing it the shady way? But how would they do that without Blaine and Don E.? Also farming human remains from poorer countries isn't ok?

- Are there humans on Zombie Island, e.g. families of sick people who go there? And if so, how does that work, seeing as New Seattle didn't?

- Is Zombie Island it's own separate country? Is America responsible for it? Does it have its own governing body?

- Presumably there are a lot of Fillmore Graves guys on zombie island since they're carrying that disease from the biological weapon Vivian talked about? All of them are fine with the situation? No one still wanting revenge for how many of their own that were killed? No Enzo sympathisers?

- I have a lot of issues with Zombie Island?!!?

- How DID Liv get out of that explosion?

- Baracus immediately felt he was human, why didn't Enzo? Also, how did he not notice being jabbed with a needle?

- ARE ENZO'S CATS OK???

- Are we supposed to believe that between the Lake Washington boat party and the Aleutian flu outbreak, no zombies left Seattle? The virus didn't spread to other cities, states or even countries? Blaine scratched rich people and rich people love to travel. Fillmore Graves was doing overseas missions for a while. There was the couple in Oregon, but surely there'd also be other outbreaks, since it's so contagious?

- When Ravi cured the test rat with Isobel's brain, he gave it the smallest slither, no where near the size of its own brain - so why did Liv/Dale need to eat the entire thing? They could've both had some?

- Since Ravi didn't do any other tests asides from the vaccine and the Freylich brain, would the final mass-produced cure still have the side effect of a few days amnesia?

- Would Ravi be able to be cured? Since he's immune to the zombie virus and that's a part of the cure he made?

- Despite seeing the problem of zombies starving first hand with that bus driver, why did Peyton support Renegade and the making of new zombies? I'd say friendship goals but they were risking the lives of thousands of people just so they could feel good about it...

- Why didn't Major suggest using Blaine and Don E for brain importation to Chase, rather than waiting until Chase was dead and he was in charge? Poor Chase :(

- Why was Major totally chill about Enzo being excited to use machetes and hand grenades on the Dead Enders?? Was that not a massive red flag???? Machetes????? The man was ecstatic and that's nbd????????? "lol classic Enzo excited about brutal weapons being used in the streets" he's not ok??

- Why the heck didn't Major do more to fight against anti-zombie groups that killed, harmed, and publicly terrorised zombies?! "Its a trap to make us look authoritarian!!" K but you can't just let them do that???

- If Fillmore Graves soldiers' vests aren't bulletproof (@ Jordan and Enzo) then why on earth do they wear them?? For the aesthetic???

- Where'd Captain Hobbs go off to? He's not sticking around for Enzo Hours?

“Could you see yourself loving me?”

Damon laughs as you rolled your eyes, “Probably not.”

“Could you try?” You asked, Damon gives you a look, you know that look all little too well as you swallow your pride, “Nevermind.”

Damon brushed off as the two of you continue to walk together, you’ve known each other for so long that life together was somewhat blurry. The times where you weren’t by his side if felt like time was slow and there wasn’t anything to speed up time. 

You were helpless, you loved Damon upon first meeting him when the two of you were first humans. As time passes by, when you weren’t by his side anymore - the feeling that used to reside in your heart started to fade. The longer he wasn’t there by your side, you lost the attraction, the love you had for him. 

When Damon followed and stayed with Stefan, he was surprised to see you in Mystic Falls. 

You really haven’t changed much, you were still that cheeky bastard he had remembered decades ago. He asked why you were there, you gave him a vague answer. You never stuck by him for long periods of time, rarely seen in a room together alone. 

It was almost as if the years had allowed you to cleanse yourself from Damon’s toxic behaviour. 

You know your best friend, he’s impulsive and a dickhead, yet that never strayed you far from him. Though you don’t know whether if you could call him your best friend anymore. 

Because when he looks at you, you were still that friendly guy with a big heart but you were more standoffish with him. When you look at him, he’s still an abrasive arse wipe. They say opposites attract and yet, you felt like you two differ so much that you could never attract to each other. 

Though, despite living in the same house and teaming up together, you feel like you could never connect with him again. 

You had made up what Damon is in your head, clouded with your love - he was completely different. Perhaps, Damon filled in that idea of love, maybe you got mixed up with what was romantic love and what was platonic love. 

Damon will admit, though, after some stubbornness, he misses you. He misses how you fitted by his side, he misses your laugh and the jokes you would make with him. After years without you, he felt somewhat empty, somewhat lost in the world. 

He wondered what type of person he would have become if you weren’t in the world. 

After all, you were his moral and rational thinking. You’re the only one who could really put him in his place, unlike his father. Maybe he was avoiding his feelings for you, perhaps he was just thinking he couldn’t possibly love men like he loved women. 

“You’d stay with me?” Damon asked, he remembers how you look off to the distance and shrug your shoulders.

“Why not?” You answered back, because at this point of the story you didn’t know whether it was right to stay with him - you were questioning it, “I mean, Damon, you are my dearest friend. My deepest love. You are the best part of me, and yet...”

“And yet?” Damon pressed on.

You looked at him, “Perhaps it’s the best for us to be apart.”

Damon thought he knew what heartbreak felt, but the moment you announced that you are off to travel the world without him, he couldn’t breathe. He felt like the whole world had stopped spinning and time just stopped. His chest aches after you leave, your goodbye was short and blunt - he hated that. 

Seeing you in the present modern time, he felt, for the first time, the world was no longer tilted so far. He didn’t care if he felt like you were avoiding him because the time he managed to be in your presence he felt at peace.

“You had a history with (Y/n)?” Elena asked, she never really picked up on the fact that Damon can be so emotional.

“You could say that,” Damon responded, “But, not in the way you possibly could think.”

You never wanted to hurt Damon, but deep down you really did. To blame him for all the hurt he had did to you. You wanted him to feel how you suffered the unrequited love, you wanted to experience what it’s like to be loved and never given a definite answer. 

So, when you see Elena with questions in her mind. You were taken aback because she could ask you about different things, vampire or supernatural topics that you could answer. 

But love, love was a hard topic. It sure is a funny topic. 

“Well, why do you ask?” You teased softly, “Are you in love with Damon? Stefan?”

“Uh - no!”

You chuckled, shaking your head before the silence took over and seriousness had washed over you, “Love sure is painful. Trust me, I would know.”

“Yeah...”

“Well, that’s enough love talk from me. I am very tired and very much gay. “

“Where are you going?” Elena asked, you looked at her funny.

“Didn’t you hear me? I’m very much gay, so I’m going to yearn, god knows where that’ll take me.”

Your feet lead you out, but you found yourself upon a hill with a nice view. You recognised it almost immediately, it was the spot that you and Damon use to come to meet up and hang about when you were human.

“You know, I thought I would see you here.”

“Oh, god,” You said almost as quick as your reflexes allow you too.

“I’m going to pretend that didn’t hurt my feelings,” Damon responded.

The two of your stand quietly on the hill, a tree covering the two of you in the sun. The quietness was somewhat relaxing rather than uncomfortable. 

“Can I ask you a question?” Damon says you turn your head slightly to show that you are listening because even after all this time you couldn’t just ignore him.

“Could you see yourself loving me?”

There was silence before there was a sharp inhale from you and a deep exhale, you remember the question all too well just like Damon, “Probably not.”

Damon was not surprised by the answer, he wonders if you said it out of spite or if that’s how you truly felt. 

“Could you try?”

You paused for a second, Damon allowed you to think before he sees you started to turn your back. You muster up the courage to form your answer as you could feel both your hearts breaking.

“No.”
