Idk if im stupid and it was obvious abt what the song was implying but my take on thunderpriest was it was Archangel Michael coming from the heavens to send down the rapture but in the song lyrics its says this
Tumblr media
And well.. You cant kill a freaking ARCHANGEL
So my second take was that Thunderpriest was a song about a crazed priest who was hearing messages from god to kill everybody (like binding of isaac where isaacs mom was hearing 'gods' voice in her head telling her to lock up and kill isaac)
So i came to a conclusion to combine both things That the thunderpriest was a sick and twisted man going through psychosis believing that he is some devine entity from the world above sent to bring the rapture and kill everyone (even his admirers) to cleanse the land of 'evil' until other people executed him by burning him to the ground.
I MOST DEFINITELY POINTED OUT THE OBVIOUS WITH THIS ONE AND IM LATE TO THE PARTY FOR DECIPHERING THE LYRICS ANYWAYS TAKE THIS FELLOW POWERWOLF FANS

I spent like five minutes listening to the quiet 'attila and organ' part to make out what he sings and he does sing "by the holy Bible of the Beast'
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY MADE A BIBLE OF THE BEAST REFERENCE IN THUNDERPRIEST I LOVE THIS BAND

DrawTober 2023 - Day 04
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am behind on my drawtobers, so hopefully I'll be able to do two tomorrow. For now, have this...
"Really, I don't know why we're bothering." Wu Xie ignored Pangzi's grumbles, making his way up the long staircase of Leifeng Shan. And wasn't that a repetitive name? Feng and Shan weren't quite the same things but they were close enough.
Admittedly, where else would a priest of this region's thunder god - not the same one as the one down south - live but amongst the rains and storms of Thunder Peak Mountain. Looking at the pavilion at the top of the steps, Wu Xie could tell it hadn't been named for the pagoda back home in Hangzhou.
Thunder echoed around them, soft and constant drumrolls following thin bolts of lightning embroidering dark grey clouds. They swirled around the building, obscuring it briefly then parting to show grey stone covered in delicate carvings.
Wu Xie would have loved to stop and examine everything but they were there to meet the priest of the Thunder God, to find out if his uncle's search for the southern Thunder God's temple had taken him to this place.
According to what he'd been told, the priest wasn't there often, only during the rain season, for obvious reasons. "We're bothering because it might be important. That cult of Erjing's might have had ties to this one. I'd rather know about it than have something sneak up on us. Right Xiaoge?"
Xiaoge, who'd paused a half dozen steps ahead of them and was gazing into the pavilion with interest, gave a nod. "Someone we know," he said. "No surprise, really."
Someone they knew? Wu Xie hurried up the steps, dragging Pangzi along beside him. And when he reached the top to stand beside Xiaoge, he realized just how right he was.
The man hadn't noticed them yet, but he seemed busy, listening to the constant song of thunder surrounding them. Likely that was why. Even a talented soundmapper would be hard put to hear much over that noise. Not at this distance.
And talented soundmapper it was, a very familiar one. Red hair hanging loose, slender body covered in loose bright silks, large eyes closed, head tilted to catch every roll of thunder. His presence was unexpected and a revelation.
After all, if anyone had the talent and skill to be a proper priest of the thunder god, it was Liu Sang.

The Initial Official Transmechanicus Rating for Powerwolf's Wake Up The Wicked is a healthy, beautiful, and hilarious: 9/11
Very easy to rate music albums, it’s just how many songs out of the total did you like, basic fraction. Any band fluffing the album with songs they aren’t invested in are gonna drag down the score. I think it’ll force more people to recognize that a lot of very good bands are pressured into scraping together 12 songs before they can release when realistically they’re only satisfied with 5 of em.

Is there any better combination than Guild Wars 2 and Powerwolf? Heretic Hunters is about Kalla Scorchrazor and her warband. Thunderpriest is about Balthazar. Incense and Iron is about Zafirah/the zaishen. Where the Wild Wolves have gone is about Braham and Eir

Music Shill of the Day: NEW POWERWOLF!
Greetings, everyone. It has been a while.
And I come with tidings of the new Powerwolf album that dropped today, because wow. It is a great one. In my opinion, it's better than Call of the Wild, and it definitely is on a similar tier to The Sacrament of Sin.
Wake Up the Wicked is simply good. It is great. We see good breaks in the Powerwolf style, in songs such as Vargamor, which reminded me a bit of Saltatio Mortis, and we have some that feel like a return to form, such as Thunderpriest sounding as though we could see it on Blood of the Saints or Preachers of the Night.
I won't go into an in-depth rating of each song on the album for now; I may do this later, but for now, just know the album was worth the wait. VERY worth the wait.
I will say, for now, my top three are Viva Vulgata, Heretic Hunters, and Kyrie Klitorem, not necessarily in that order. Sinners of the Seven Seas and 1589 come REALLY close behind them.
Anyway. GO LISTEN TO WAKE UP THE WICKED! Do yourself a favor this fine day. It's a wonderful album.
