Thomas Luthi breaks his pole record in Le Mans

Thomas Luthi (CarXpert Interwetten) took a record-breaking pole position for the HJC Helmets Grand Prix de France, taking a good portion of time off his 2016 pole record – 12 years after the number 12 took his first pole at Le Mans. Rookie sensation Francesco Bagnaia (Sky Racing Team VR46) took his first ever front row the race weekend after his first intermediate class podium in P2 – with Championship leader Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) locking out the top three.

Luca Marini (Forward Racing Team) impressed in fourth, with Dominique Aegerter (Kiefer Racing) taking P5 for Suter. Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) starts off the front row for the first time this season in sixth, putting together a solid salvage job after a difficult day in France and a highside crash on Saturday morning.

Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) takes seventh ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri (Forward Racing Team) and Marcel Schrötter (Dynavolt Intact GP) completing Row 3, with Sandro Cortese locking out the top ten behind teammate Schrötter.

Xavi Vierge (Tech 3 Racing) took P11 despite a crash, ahead of Xavier Simeon (Tasca Racing Scuderia Moto2), Yonny Hernandez (AGR Team), Simone Corsi (Speed Up Racing) and Ricky Cardus (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in twelfth to fifteenth.

Lüthi gears up to try and break the EG 0,0 Marc VDS hold on 2017 at 12:20 (GMT +2).

The exhibition OSMOSCOSMOS attempts to bring together two universes that are too rarely associated in our monotheistic cultures where sexuality is marked by guilt: Eros and cosmos. We can describe them as dynamic, as not static, not stable, not fixed. Jean-Pierre Vernant (1), specialist in ancient Greece and its myths, describes the meeting of the two: Eros - always in motion, between men and gods - witnessed the birth of the universe, allowing Uranus and Gaia to procreate. Gaia, who is emancipating herself from Chaos, needs the energy of Eros to unite with Uranus. Lying on his back and mating with Gaia, Uranus refuses to withdraw, despite the Titans they have just spawned and who are waiting to be born. Gaia encourages her future children to revolt and places a sickle handle in young Cronus' fist. He grabs the object to use it as a weapon and cuts off his father's sexual parts. This immense pain forces Uranus to pull away from Gaia with vehemence and upwards, forming the vault of the sky, the starry firmament, the Cosmos – forever.

Can we pretend that Moto2 only raced once here? I mean, look at how many crashed we had: Roberts, Beaubier, Lüthi,  Schrötter, Dixon and Canet.

No one like the race winner and in my book Remy is on thin ice because they have started to talk and praise him too much.

The only thing I like is that we have a rookie on the podium (Raúl) and Cele has scored points again.

Moto2 has become to anticlimactic after the Moto 3 races.

Yes, I know, there aren’t a lot of women on this list. It is sadly super difficult to both make a list with well known artist and to make it diverse. I am open to suggestions for more artists and more categories. It is obviously difficult in some cases to exactly define the “category” an artist is in, especially when it comes to modern art, as many artists made different works during their lifetime. Categories marked with an “XXX” are there as a filler and aren’t relevant. The order of these is also up to debate, they are roughly chronological in the beginning but not anymore in the end.

Thomas Luthi out front on Thursday

Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) topped the first practice session for Moto2™ in the #QatarGP, with the Swiss rider’s time then enough to keep him top by the end of Day 1 on a 2:00.916 – despite a crash. Second was the fastest man at the Official Moto2™ Qatar Test, Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia), with Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) completing the top three in a close fight.

Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS pairing Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez completed the top five overall, with all the first five posting their fastest laps in FP1. FP2’s superstar improver was Francesco Bagnaia (Sky Racing Team VR46), who topped the second session to go sixth overall – fastest rookie with a 2:00.793.

Fellow rookie Fabio Quartararo (Pons HP 40) was another who improved in FP2 to end the day in P8 overall, just behind Italtrans Racing Team’s Mattia Pasini. Axel Pons (RW Racing GP) and Luca Marini (Forward Racing Team) completed the top ten. 

Second Forward rider Lorenzo Baldassarri was P11, with Danny Kent (Kiefer Racing), Xavier Simeon (Tasca Racing Scuderia Moto2), and Dynavolt Intact GP pairing Marcel Schrötter and Sandro Cortese locking out the top 15.
