my personal tier list of how much I enjoy each ff14 job
this has absolutely nothing to do with the DPS output, it’s solely based on how much I personally like playing the job in dungeons and trials/raids
long post beneath the cut with worded explanations
Warrior feels amazing because it feels like how Dark Knight used to feel in dungeons during stormblood. (insane self heals)
Scholar has always been one of my favorites (I miss old Selene and having Leeches instead of Esuna) (I don’t miss Cleric Stance)
Astrologian has finally returned to a playable state with the return of the real Lord/Lady cards (but still has the shitty seal system unfortunately) The Lady card feels a bit weak in dungeons, but it feels great to play overall. Only thing I would change is adding more charges of redraw (or removal of the seals)
Summoner actually summons 10/10 My only issue with Summoner is not being able to have Bahamut as my /egiglamour
Redmage still good even if they only gave it one more burst combo extension
Paladin’s new sustain with shelltron is really cool and the HP back during magic burst window is very nice. Also much more forgiving with mana costs, making it easy to justify throwing in a panic clemency when needed without completely ruining dps rotation. (please don’t use clemency all the time, let your healer heal you first)
Samurai still ungabunga (not quite at 90 yet so haven’t fully tried everything it has yet)
For Dragoon I wish they removed Dragon SIght instead of the Blood of the Dragon timer. The only downside of playing Dragoon is selecting another dps to tether to. Sharing the dragon eye buff is the only redeeming factor for that ability.
Bard feels great with the changes, although it is a bit more punishing to die with the longer song durations.
Dark Knight is still really good in trials and raids, but sucks ass compared to other tanks in dungeons.
Only thing holding NInja back is jank. The new Forked Raiju ability is awesome, but is also the source of new jank.
Monk feels wrong now without all the positionals. I keep trying to hit them anyways. I think monk would feel better with zero positionals or only have positionals with the lunar/solar seal attacks
No real opinion on MCH, it just feels decent to play. The new stuff didn’t really feel all too great.
Black mage is a little different compared to shadowbringers black mage. I just haven’t enjoyed it as much this expansion because of Summoner and Redmage being fun
Reaper feels bad for a lot of small reasons, but there are many small reasons I don’t like it, so overall it just feels bad. I’m not gonna list them all because it’s over 5 things.
Dancer feels bad because I’m still upset about it being a dps rather than healer lol.
I just don’t like playing gunbreaker ever, but I do it once every expansion because I like having all maxed job levels
I only like playing white mage in Eureka and Bozja, I’d rather play any other job for dungeons besides gunbreaker
#I doubt anyone will care to read all that#sometimes I like to write down stuff like this because I can and not because I think people will read it#I usually just delete these kinda posts instead of hitting post
