hey i'm badly in need of some prayers. my university is giving me a really shitty housing option that's most likely going to give me chronic migraines due to triggers that are present in the hall. i'm not seeing a lot of loopholes for this, and i'm going to have to work through disability services to get this sorted out. so prayers would very much be appreciated. thanks <3

Sometimes, forgiveness is more for yourself than the other person. It is needed to move on and move forward, whether that person is involved in your life after that or not.

Joe and Ming choosing to forgive Tong and Ming’s father does not negate what they did or what they may do in the future. They chose to forgive them for themselves. They need to move on and they know the best way to go that is to simply forgive them.

The story of Ming and Joe was always meant to be about forgiveness and second chances. Joe forgave Ming for what he did. This time both Ming and Joe are giving it to Tong and Ming’s father in order to give them what Joe gave Ming, an opportunity to do better. Will it work? Who knows. They might change for the better, they might not. Joe and Ming are willing to give everyone the chance to find out.

Tong still deserved to get pushed in the pool though. I wish someone had.

Okay let's put this stupid semantics argument to bed right now:

Judaism is not Zionism, obviously, because Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people and Zionism is an amalgamation of political beliefs supporting the idea of Jewish self-determination in eretz Yisrael. They are two different things. Obviously.

However, you cannot separate Zionism from Jewish identity and Judaism, because Zionism is fundamentally a political ideology created by Jews, for Jews, and about Jews.

You also can't separate Jewish identity and Judaism from Zionism, because while the notion of statehood is contemporary, the longing to return to eretz Yisrael and end the Jewish people's exile has been a foundational part of rabbinic Judaism since 70 CE.

Bottom line: they are two distinct concepts that overlap substantially and you cannot talk about them as if Zionism is totally foreign and unrelated to Judaism or vice versa in good faith, but neither can you 100% conflate them.

This is like when pregnancy discrimination was allowed on the grounds that not every single woman is pregnant or will become pregnant (and also we know that not everyone who becomes pregnant is a woman) and therefore it's somehow not sex discrimination and you don't have to factor in misogyny and sexism into the conversation.

You can't talk about Zionism without talking about Jews, Judaism, and antisemitism, but also, if you bring up Israel/Palestine every time a Jew is publicly Jewish, guess what that makes you? (Hint: It's antisemitic.)

every day i see 500 posts about archive-locking fics to protect from bot scraping and every day i just want to bang my head into the wall over and over because

1. It Has Already Been Scraped, the damage is done.

2. archive-locking fics is only a Good Solid Protective Measure against bot scraping if you believe that people who have the ability to create and shape this kind of technology cannot make some fairly minor adjustments to access archive-locked fics. it would not be hard. that’s like saying ‘i’m worried about getting stabbed so i have put on a lace-woven cardigan.’

3. ao3 did not “recommend that everyone do this” as i’ve seen about 400 of those 500 posts say. they, in the post where they confirmed scraping had taken place, said that if people wanted to do something that was an option for something they could do if they felt like it. hardly an urged warning that everyone really should take this as an important safety and security measure.

4. the only people this is deterring are people who don’t browse logged in or don’t have an account. literally all you’re doing is making your fic harder to access for people who actually want to like....... read it. it’s security theatre at best and maybe this is a very small hill to die on but i’m very tired of seeing dozens of posts urging everyone to do this Right Now because it’s Critical to protecting your fics from ai bot scraping. that’s just......... can we think about this for a second.

hey guys...... i feel like a politician for bringing this up again but the housing situation is not yet resolved.... please pray for me i feel like crying when i think about it. I'm moving in next week and they still haven't resolved this issue, and the feeling of not knowing if i'm going to be in a super triggering environment or not is absolutely petrifying. i still don’t understand why Runaan thought it was a good idea to bring his 15 year old adoptive daughter who’s never killed anyone in her life on what was the most important high stakes assassination they’d ever done.

i get she probably wanted to redeem herself for what her parents had done but Runaan probably should’ve tested she could actually kill someone right?

We don't get the idea that this is the Most Important assassination he's been on, just that it's personal (who knows how often Zubeia, or possibly other elven lords/leaders, are handing out hit requests). Is there anything such as a low-stakes assassination mission?

Was he supposed to haul her out, at an even younger age, and give her a practice target? Someone where it wouldn't matter if she killed them or not, which is also a moral mindfuck that gives her an easy out?

The smartest thing to do would've been to send one of the other assassin troupe or himself with her in chasing down Marcos, just to make sure - but characters, like people, aren't always at their smartest, and sometimes expecting that is unreasonable. By that logic, Runaan could've also just taken the L and called off the assassination mission point blank at any time (after realizing they'd been discovered, after realizing the egg was alive) and none of the assassins seemingly cared to do the former and Runaan didn't care to do the latter / think it was an actual potential route.

Runaan, like Claudia, gets in over his head due to an overabundance of faith in his loved ones. Often times having a lot of faith in your loved ones is a good quality. Sometimes it's a bad one. Like most character traits, whether it's 'good' or 'bad' is deeply circumstantial.

Why wouldn't you expect the girl you love as a daughter, who you've seen excel at every other aspect of assassin training, including Moonshadow form which is all about the balance between life and death, to be able to do what she's been telling you for years that she could?

forced sterilization is a racist and ableist practice used to 'cull out imperfection' and was used primarily against people of color and those with disabilities, to put it in the bluntest term I can

and even then, there's more horror to the truth of forced sterilization

however, Frostpaw being tnr [trapped, neutered, returned] is not that and it people are doing more harm than good comparing it

it feels like it's the same people comparing Tigerheartstar's taking over of RiverClan to cultural genocide and it's all giving me the worst headache when I see people talk about it
