What I dislike abt "tom riddle snr rises tom jr" fics that that they always kill merope for some reason, I guess its to sort of follow canon but if you are already going to alter canon to begin with...

Specially because the story always treats merope in a very dismissive/demonic kind of way post morten and yes, she is the abuser to tom snr but it just doesnt feel right, its cheap and easy and she could be such a complex and interesting character if she was present in the story :p
